Paul Broste Rock Museum in Williston

Doris was the friendly tour guide who walked us around the museum. If youre a rock lover, like my husband, youll love this place!

What a treat to run into this place.I love the story about how it came about and the man who built it.So worth the stop.

If you live in North Dakota, you should go here. If you are thinking of visiting North Dakota, you should go here. It is unbelievable what one man created. You do not need to be a lover of rocks to appreciate the beauty of the spheres he painstakingly cut and polished, the beauty of the infinity mirror room, or the artwork that surrounds the walls. If you are a history buff who is traveling the Lewis and Clark Trail, stop by this Museum. It is well worth your time. This place is steeped in history. There are Native America artifacts, items from Mr. Paul Broste’s childhood, the museums founder. There is a beautiful piece of quartz from Brazil that has these stunning golden flecks running throughout it. I cannot remember what our host said it’s worth was, but it was quite a lot. There is a fluorescent room where children especially, but adults also, are captivated by rocks that glow! I wanted to go home and take a black light to all the rocks in my yard just to see if any of mine glow too. You get a personal tour from the museums host and current caretaker, Mrs. Doris Jacobson. She is a wealth of information and a wonderful hostess.

This place was amazing, very interesting and Ms. Doris were very knowledgeable and pleasant. Also, the scenery on the drive was beautiful.

Guide was very informative about artist. Tons of gemstones, petrified wood, artwork, and an infinity room!

I have visited this museum many times throughout my life, yet each time Im there, i notice new treasures I hadnt noticed before. Doris makes this place what it is... amazing. The love and adoration for sharing this treasure is apparent in Doris.The museum was the brainchild of an ingesting, eccentric man named Paul Broste. I think it would have been amazing to know him, as we share many of the same interests. He worked hard in not only finding unique gems for his collection, but Broste also wrote, drew, and oil painted.Thank you Doris and her many volunteers for keeping this treasure alive to help inspire future generations in their love of rocks, but also in the pursuit of their dreams and in working hard.Ill bring my kids back again next time were in Parshall!

The woman who works here is brimming with stories and knowledge about Paul and the rock museum. If youre debating coming to visit, maybe this review will sway you to come in.

They have amazing stuff. Really nice people. Rich history. It was a blast! This is a must see!

This is a great Museum. If you are a fan of history an geology it is a must see.

Great place to visit if you are in the area. Many interesting specimens to look at and the person who runs it is a awesome person.

Absolutely wonderful

This is an incredible place; well worth the effort to go to Parshall and see. Doris gave us an excellent tour with history of the museum and knowledge of the rocks.

Very educational and the kids enjoyed it. This place has a great collection and exhibits with interesting rock formations.

Charoyal and Doris are the best! and most informative regarding this museum and the area. The museum is worth the $5 admission. A must visit.

Awesome place for those interested in the earth and what she puts out. (Rocks Love rocks myself so this was an awesome place. Miss Joyce was very informative about the whole place. When we come back to Stanley we will be back. Thank you Mods Joyce. 😉🌻

What a wonderful place. You must see it.

Very interesting and fun to visit with Doris, the tour guide. Definitely swing through and plan at least an hour to an hour and a half for your tour!

The town is fixing pipes in the area.THE MUSEUM IS OPEN DISPITE THE TOWN WORK!The museum is a treasure!

A must see for anyone who likes rocks & geology. Very friendly staff, call ahead for museum hours.
