Pathibhara is a famous pilgrimage site in Taplejung district. The Pathibhara Temple is an important religious place for Hindus and Buddhists. It is at a height of 12,000 feet in Taplejung district. This sacred site of Pathibhara, the goddess of faith and purity, is located at the headquarters of Taplejung district, 19.5 km from Fungling. Located northeast at a height of 3794m.It is one day walk from Fungling Market. This temple is frequented by devotees throughout the year. The goddesss name is called Paithivara Devi, with its beautiful, adorable shape as like full of rice. The local Limbu communities of Taplejung recognize the Pathibhara as "Mukumlung". In citrus, "fist" means strength or force, "malung" means plant. That is, limbo species appear to be the source or path of power or force.Genealogy and Genealogy of Genesis (उत्पतिसम्बन्धि किम्बदन्ती तथा जनश्रुति)There are many festivals and genres related to the origin of the Pathibhara Goddess. It is said: In ancient times the shepherds of Pathibhara had kept their flocks at Pathibhara. One day suddenly seeing the unexpected, the herds of herds disappeared. In such an unimaginable event, the Goddess gave a vision to the stunned and bewildered shepherds, instructing them to worship the sheep without sacrificing their origins and motifs.Attentive shepherds sacrificed the most noble lamb by offering devotional worship at the Goddess-shaped site. What was more sacrificed was the hundreds of lost sheep that had appeared in the same place as before, the blood of the sacrificial lambs falling to the slaughter as water lost in the sand.Seeing this, the shepherds shouted cheerfully to the goddess. It is worth remembering that hundreds of sheep, goats and herds are sacrificed daily to the Pathibhara Goddess. But at the sacristy, any visitor who has lost blood, limited, can have direct experience and observation. In view of the number of sacrifices offered to the goddess, a pool of blood would have to be collected here, but it would not. That is why it is believed that the blood-goddess Pathibhara accepts the sacrifices offered by devotees affectionately.Today, the glory of Goddess Pathibhara, belief and faith in the goddess has reached beyond the boundaries of the village, district and country. As a result, thousands of devout devotees from all over the country and abroad continue to visit the deity.HOW TO GO PATHIVARA DEVI TEMPLEDestination: Kathmandu to TaplejungDistance: km (One way)Driving Time: Approx. One of the best destinations for worship. Very powerful and its very essential to get her blessing once in a lifetime.
Hindu religious holy place.
Pathivara Maai sits on the top of hill which looks like a paathi and hence named pathivara. It lies in Taplejung district, east from Phungling bazar at 28km jeep ride and a day of trek. The place is famous for spiritual awakenings and that feeling of closeness to the higher energy. Pathivara maai embodies Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Mahasaraswoti blessing the devotees with all the health, weath and knowledge. The temple is famous for fulfilling the true and pure wishes of devotees. The temple lies at 3700m above sea level which is highly altitude sickness prone zone.Facilities of lodging and fooding is plentiful throughout the hiking area. At the top of the hill itself, there are camping sites and few people including Pujari (brahmins and Babas reside at the top.It is a place of great importance for any of the hindu and kirat followers. The scenic views of Mount Kanchanjunga ( 3rd highest in the worldalong with Kumbhakaran and Makalu can be enjoyed.
Have to take different vehicle from Taplejung Busstand and we will reach sanophedi. We can stay in sanophedi. There are different hotels but better for you if you stay at thulophedi which is about 1hr uphill . Rest there and start your journey early in the morning. It is about 2-3 hr trek from thulophedi. You will not regret travelling that long as soon as you reach the top. Spritual vibes, Beautiful Scenes of Mountain Ranges ❤️❤️
Lovely 😍 place. like a heaven.Wonderful & awesome journey. 👌2 thing which i feel no sufficient water , no electricity at evening, night time & washroom.these things are very important bhaktajan 😊😍 🥰🥰
amazing place, hiking was memorable, hiking trial is perfect, wonderful view of mt Kanchanjunga and Mt Kumvakarna from top. one of the best place to visit at Easter Nepal
The weather is cold because of the height it is situated in, almost 3,794 metres above sea level. If you are travelling with kids, start your journey from Mathillo Fedi at 6 am. Make sure to carry extra pair of socks so that you can wear outside the shoes to prevent from slipping in the snow. Also carry ginger and sattu powder (mixture of composite pulses and cerealsso you can consume the ginger and sattu powder if you are experiencing altitude sickness. The powder can also be applied to the face. Water, fruits should be carried as there are no shops on the way to the temple. The majestic Mount Kanchenjunga and Mount Kumbhakarna can be seen on the way.
Its sacred place, it is believed that we will get what you prey for. 3-5 hr trek from sanophedi is difficult than expected. In winter your trek become much difficult due to snow. Dont forget to take extra shocks , you have to wear under the shoe and over the shoe. .जय पाथीभरा माता की ।। Enjoy beautiful trek from taplejung.

This temple of Pathibhara Bhagwati is the most famous deity temple of Eastern Nepal. It is at an altitude of about 4000 meters. According to legend, hundreds of years ago, a shepherd there had a dream at night. In the dream Bhagwati said I am at the top of this mountain. You worship me there. The shepherds went to the top of the hill and found an idol of the goddess. It was publicized. Later people started going to see the goddess. This place became famous. I first arrived here 40 years ago. This is my second visit. This time I went with my wife. I had to walk from Suketar Airport. Now the car has reached Kafle Pati, the place to climb for the temple. But the road is bad. It takes 5 hours for a normal person to walk from Kafle Pati. It takes 3 hours to return. A person who walks on time can walk from Taplejung in one day and return to Taplejung at night. Within a few years, it can only be reached by car. Its work has begun. It is difficult to reach here during winter. It is very cold.
One of the most worshipped temple in Eastern Nepal. All wishes become true. You must visit here and get blessings 🙌.
It is a must visit place for all the Hindus and others too, who want to experience the Divine Aura of the place. The moment you enter the area.. Your level of spirituality is elated. The feeling is completely different and one feels like staying there. The experience physical exhaustion but revival of energy the moment you are there.. You forget all the stiff painful climbing, the muscle pull, strain, sprain all the trouble one takes nothing goes in Vain.... Mark every word..... You make it then you know what I am saying.... Heaven on Earth Experience...... Heaven in Here Not somewhere above in the sky.......Jay Pathibhara Devi 🙂
Walked for five long hours and feels like being in a heaven in the top.
It took me 2.5 hours from Sanofedhi to reach the temple. Thulo fedhi is the last place to find food and water after that just mountain to climb. Please wear down jackets including warm gloves and cap it is freezing cold at the temple area. Must visit area for mountain lovers. Dont trust the pictures just goo its worth it. The hotels are good enough no need to worry. Route: Sano Fedhi- Thulo Fedhi - Pathiveri temple (3 to 4 hours on average)
Most spiritual place of Nepal 🙏🏾
It felt so good when I reached there. Yes, the way is a bit difficult but I promise after you reach there you will have no regrets. And the view of mountains and everything from there is so beautiful. But make sure youll have warm clothes and good shoes.
Pathibhara temple is reached by a steep climb, anywhere from 3 to 5 hours depending on your fitness. The old path has now been replaced by stairs. There are several villages where you can get refreshments during the first half of the climb. At the last village you can get overnight accommodations if you wish to do the final stage early in the morning. You can also hire a car in Taplejung to take you over a rough and bumpy 4WD road to the foot of the mountain. After a strenuous climb the magnificent view of Kanchenjunga and surrounding mountains unfolds before you, silent, powerful and breathtaking. The pathway to the sacred temple is strung with hundreds of bells. The image of the mountain goddess/Devi resides in the temple.
I went to this temple several times with my family members. It is in very beautiful place at the top of hills.
Tough hike.5am ma pujari awnu huncha so schedule your time according to your fitness level.Carry torch lights, warm jackets especially that has windproof as well.Rhododendron forest along the way, once you reach the temple area, youll get to see nice view of the Kanchanjunga range aswell.Trail difficulty: 4/5
Incredible felling, must vist place once in life time. Good people nice view and amazing environment. Recommended place by me
Amazing place. This is a religious place with a lot of tourism possiblities. You can find snowfall if you are lucky enough with your timings and a it has a 2 hour trek from the tallo fedi with an amazing view waiting for you at the top.

Very powerful temple with super high faith for Hindu,Buddist !Not that easy to reach but when you reach the temple...you will just feel wow 🤩
Deserves to be in your bucket list!!The hike from base takes around 4 hours and its a really tough hike. The altitude makes it a lot more difficult compared to other hikes. But once you are there, you dont feel like leaving. The enchanting beauty of the place will remain in your heart forever. Wow!! Such majestic views of the mountains! One visit of this place is not enough.By far the best place in Nepal I have ever visited!
Pathibhara is certainly one of the most beautiful places in Nepal, if not the best, that offers the best panoramic view of the Himalayas. The unforgettable experience. The pathibhara temple is located 19.4 North east from fungling municipality at an elevation of 3,794 m .
One of the most powerful Hindu and Buddhist deity, thousands of devotees visit this place.
Worth the walk. Scenario surrounding goddess pathibhara boosts your morale. To receibe blessing and getting to enjoy the view is splendid combo.
A Beautiful religious place where one can experience the religious and spiritual vibes.... Beautiful snow clad mountain peaks..... Tough walk but joyful one. One can feel that s/he has merited by going all the way up the making an effort.... Its both physical and spiritual healing.
Such a beautiful, powerful temple. For me it took a while to reach up but within 2 minutes all my tiredness were gone. Ambience of that place is something marvelous. One suggestion for everyone, start trekking at night. You will not feel that tired as in day time.
Unbelievably surreal and enchanting.I reckon the hike uphill can take anywhere between 1-4hours.I went with my family who all have various different fitness level.I accomplished the feat from Basecamp to the summit in 2.5 hours. My family took around 3.5 but the seasoned veterans could easily do it in less time than my family or I.The base camp at the place known as Sano Phedi is a small shanty village that caters for hikers both local and from abroad. The amnesties are basic and limited, but enough.Everyone advises that you should leave in the middle of the night, I didnt think much of it until my walk down hill. The amount of uphill climbing I had done during my night trek uphill was stupefying! I now understand why people say that being able to see your trail will very likely detail you. Because it most certainly will;So I too advice anyone reading this to start the hike super early. We started at 3:30am, around this time is very idea. Because you are likely to reach the summit as the sun rises.Thats what happened to me, I arrived with a thick blanket of cloud that slowly cleared and the higher the sun rose, the more beautiful the scenery was.One thing I also want to say is, I would highly recommend going during the summer time, as you will be less likely to have bad weather and more sunshine to admire the various mountains and hills. There are very able bodied locals who can assist you during your hike if that is what you need. They can carry your luggage and even carry you. No joke.Despite the locals size and build, they are seasoned and experienced porters, I saw a guy half my size in built carry a woman who looked twice my size easily up and down the hill(more like a small mountain)Make sure to negotiate just like anywhere else in Nepal. Especially if you are a foreigner, Ive been told the price for carrying a person up and down the hill used to be 3k rupees in 2014, we were offered just 1 way service for 7k; so take this as an example of how crafty and duplicitous these business men can be when treating anyone who looks different. But thats just business, I would probably try my luck in the same manner if I was in their shoes, plenty of independent trades men here in UK also apply sly methods in their businesses, so dont take it personally, its just a note in the dance of life. With regards to the trek itself. It is moderately steep but has plenty of rest stations(chautaridotted along the path to the summit. The final station is based at the gates leading up to the temple situated at the peak of the hill/mountain.This station is perfect for taking all your beloved selfies, and has a view overlooking several mountainous hills and the famed second tallest peak of the world. It is simply breathtaking. The temple at the summit gets a lot of visitors throughout the year. It is a holy site for practicing Hindu/pagans and in particular to Limbu people, a tribe native to Nepal of which I am a member the dirty to whom the temple is designed for is a goddess originating from my tribe, her name is Manghim but she is commonly known as Pathibhara devi. It is an interesting experience to explore irrespective of anyones personal beliefs.I must say, despite being an atheist, observing the activities of devout believers made me really consider my stance on sptrituality. Not that its changed, but for a good hour I really thought I should not think anything that would cause me the wrath of any gods hahaha.Few extra tips and advices--If you go after the monsoon time like I did, it is still likely to rain, so take a waterproof gear.Dont bother using the plastic bags they give/sell its not very effective and is bad for the Environment.-Take plenty of water to sip during your trek and some grubs for energy.-Dont carry heavy, take minimal items and as crazy as this may sound, (given that its Nepal, a country you would consider to be hot and tropicaltake a warm jacket of some sort, because the hike in the morning can be super frosty and the summit can also be the same.
You can enjoy a breathtaking view of the snow-capped mountains while filling your heart with the religious bliss in this soothing place.
Pathibhara Devi Ko jay. Its a holly place . The people who really believe in God only get success to reach at top and pray to Devi otherwise goddess stop them in the way and they return back . There r helpers who carry people to top after paying fees . Its osm there the rhododendron r seen here . Although the way is tough people still come here. The prayer wishes come true . Its best for tracking . The view of Himalayan range is amazing .
Few pointers : very very famous temple. Can get very busy during season time. Try to pre-book hotels in upper phedi or lower phedi as difficult to find lodge if you walk in too late. Carry some chewables. Pretty steep walk. Esp the second half. Try to get to the temple early as long queue forms on busy morning. Esp saturday and Tuesday. Can get very cold at the top if rains. Always carry a jacket.
Its a wonderful journey ...u need to stay in sukatar hotel and tomorrow morning travel 1.30 hour in rangerover and then from there u need to walk 4 hour uphill ...and then u finally reach Pathivara Devi temple nad experience a peace n warm view n astha...
Place of worship of goddess Pathibhara पाथिभरा माता. This place is one of the very famous temple of Nepal situated at Kanchajangha conservation area in Taplejung district. Temple is 3790 metre from mean sea level. To reach the peak, need to climb hill which takes around 4 hours from sano phedi.
Such a marvellous temple...We spend a lot of time preparing to go to the temple...With more than 10-20 thousand people visiting the temple in a day makes it the best destination on the eastern part of NepalI was real hard to find a proper transportation to go to the base of temple,The walking to temple was lovely... lovely weather sometime raining, something snow, sometime sun, sometime foggy...The temple hold a very ancient history and needs to be protected properly Nd managed after all its our national treasure...
Pathibhara is a female deity, who fulfills the wish of a devotee. Hundreds of devotees flock to Pathibhara every day, and in the festive season, this place is packed with people, who have come from different parts of Nepal, as well as from India.
Its a good place for a trek. There are few hotels at mathlo phedi. Stone steps are made for the easy walk. there are lots of roofed bisauni on the way to top, so resting is not a problem at all. But, there arent any shops on the way from mathlo fedi, so dont paln to buy any drinks and food on the way. The temple is right at the top.Tip: try to carry as less weight as possible, it will ease your walk.
