Pat Morton Lookout in Ballina

One of the best surf point lookouts in Australia, untouched and beautiful even on a rainy day!

The most perfect view of beautiful Lennox head, whales and dolphins and the hand gliders. Fantastic paved walking track all the way into Lennox head or up over our stunning coastline into Ballina.

The coastal walk that you can enter from Pat Morton lookout is insanely gorgeous. Dogs on leash permitted all the way to Ballina. Take the day to enjoy this walk, have a picnic, bask in the beauty of the scenery. You won’t regret it!

Walk up the stairs for a very nice view of two headlands jutting out

Fantastic view over Lennox and Seven Mile Beach. Great for whale watching.

Great spot to see the ocean and if lucky in migration time maybe some whales.Photos are at sunset, white light at headland is Byron Bay lighthouse.

Stunning place to sit and watch the waves roll in. Have a picnic or do a walk up and around the headland. Very relaxing vibe.Great on sunrise!

Worth stopping in... its only metres from the main road. You can often get a great view from your car (in the car park without even getting out), looking north to Broken Head and further north to Cape Byron Lighthouse.However, I recommend walking up the stairs/boardwalk to the top of the headland for some spectacular views north and south. On the day we were there we spotted whales breaching and sunning their fins just off the coast. We also spotted dolphins playing on the surf break near the surfers and watched two very large turtles swimming in the clear water below.I thought it was worth the walk and we ended up spending such a long time watching marine animals below.

Beautiful views. You can sit and relax, have a nice picnic, or enjoy a great coastal walk. There is parking, a public toilet, and a few benches to sit.

I have mixed feelings about the lookout.Im a local and most locals know that this place is a great place to see some whales, hang out and to have a surf if the conditions call for it.I however am quite annoyed by the amount of rubbish Ive seen tourists throw out their windows or leave behind after camping out the night in their van.Its a pity that it isnt respected enough as it should be.

It’s so beautiful place.There are so many people here for picnic.Good for chilling out.

Walk up the stairs to the lookout enjoy the amazing view from above. Come down, grab few drinks, mat and enjoy the sunset. So relaxing and peaceful.Few seats to sit on.

Always enjoy looking out over the ocean from this lookout. Were lucky to see the kite flyers having a go. The stairs up to top are good to climb up. But i hope they do not put any more bushes on the seaward side of the stairs.

A must see lookout at Lennox head.Take the magnificent wide bike or walking pathway from south Lennox up to this awesome view.Go further up to the top of headland for the more adventurous walk down along the beach to skennars head or ride your bike 10 mins on the big wide bikeway through the forest to Skennars head.

Great views in all directions and a beautiful iconic surfing sanctuary.

Beaut views up n down the coast but a stiff walk up numerous stairs n another 100m for the best sights.. advisory signs for a helpline and memorial flowers may be seen. Only a single toilet. Hang-gliding site.

This lookout provides great views over the Pacific Ocean and Seven Mile Beach. It is only a short drive from Ballina.

Great place, great walk. Takes about 20 mins to the beach from the look out point. Breath taking views.

For views of Morton bay this is the place. Has a car park and a short walk to the look put platform. ItIs like every other look out.It has a fantastic view and a photo opportunity. Car parking is easy as is road access. A should visit at least once spot

Really nice lookout of Lennox head and then you can walk the trails who goes to another beach . We saw some dolphins , whales, eagles , stingray on our walk so watch out for those :)

It’s a stunning lookout with an amazing view of the area. Really lovely spot to stop, have a braked and enjoy the view.On a sunny day you can see for miles across the sea.Plenty of parking available few seats available for people to sit on.There some kids playing area as well for family’s to enjoy.

Great spot! We sat here for about 40 minutes to a hour. Watched the surfers dodge dolfins, whales breaching and ships heading south.

Serene views and a nice walk. The cliff edge is a bit scary, but beautiful. I stayed about 2m away haha.

Free to go lookout. Perfect spot for photo shots. This is a para gliding spot but wont be conducted daily, depends on wind direction. Scenic views, decent car parking area. Quick stop and relaxing area. Benches available to sit. I saw swimmers going from here to tail... overall a nice lookout area.

Awesome place for surf. There is a walking track, if u don’t feel like doing extra excercise, just beautiful view from parking..

Easily reachable, beautiful short walk. One of the must go places if you are visiting around.

Love sitting and watching waves come in. A peaceful place to sit and watch as time passes.

Short walk up a few flights of stairs for a great 180 degree view of Lennox head at the main lookout. Walk on for another ~1.5km for dramatic vistas of cliff tops, grassy fields and another rocky Bay. Worth the extra walk, but be careful of the cliff edge as there are no barriers and the cliffs appear to be actively eroding. Great place for a picnic.

Absolutely beautiful. There is a decent sized parking area, where there is already a stunning view, but you can take a short, picturesque walk to the fenced area where there is an amazing view in all directions.

Gorgeous cliffs...a lovely path in the woods and safe enough for the toddlers to walk...

A beautiful lookout! If you have 30 mins to spare to can follow the path and do a full loop back to the carpark. The views are breathtaking.

Wonderful lookout on the southern end of Lennox Beach. Wander up the path to the point and you may come across some scrub turkeys.Popular place for hang gliding.

Great place to relax or take a walk either down to the crystal, and I mean crystal clear waters at the foot of the cliff or up to the headlands. Great fun watching paragliders take off and the locals come for some r&r.

Great for hang gliding and paragliding. There are some walks up to the lookout and down to the beach below. Views are stunning and net eagles, dolphins, whales, etc.
