Pastis - French restaurant in Den Haag, Netherlands
We did not have a reservation, but they were super nice and allowed us to sit at the bar. The service was very friendly and efficient, the food came out quickly and perfectly prepared. Both the sole (fishand there Niçoise salad were delicious, and the wine was perfect. Great, lively ambiance completed a wonderful time.
Reserved a table outside, arrived at restaurant where the host told us that its not really weather for outside and that he is fully booked so we might be forgotten about, but that we can try our luckNever been received this way at any restaurant after making a reservation, felt quite unwelcome and uncomfortableLeft right away and tried our luck elsewhere
Good food, great buzz, efficient service. Recommended.
Tasty and authentic French cuisine. Food exceeded our expectations (both vegetarian and not). Loved the vintage vibe of the location, and the waitress that served us -June- was super friendly and kind. I highly recommend the ratatouille! 😄 see you soon!
We met our friend in this restaurant. He recommended it for a dinner. French style food was very tasty and delicious. we took beef. The service was fast and friendly. We were there in august, so the restaurant was pretty full and charming at the same time.
Excellent côte de bœuf. Great location. Good service. Cheaper than Paris...
Typical french restaurant with good selection of wines. Food was great but the service was really slow that night and inattentive.
With good reviews, expected something cute and tasty. Regarding food all was fine, beautifully made steak, graten thought was not salted at all it seems they forgot to add salt.Regarding wine a good list to choose from.Next on, the service, on a Monday evening, with maybe half a restaurant of guests, it took them around 20 minutes to bring the menu. When we asked them to take our order (another 15 mins waitingthe waitress acted annoyed (maybe it’s French even in the way they act..?).
I’ve been here twice. Has a nice 1920s-atmosphere. The food is excellent (a little expensive, but worth tryingand service is very good. The staff is polite and attentive.
Cozy French place with no high cuisine. Jummy escargots, artichoke tarte not to write home about, fries baked in old fat, duck rare, fresh but squeekie tough, too much sodium used, potato tart cold and old, profiterolles ok but not more than that, icecream delicious, lovely company.
Great French food and atmosphere!
Everything was spectacular! Wonderful French dining experience!
The best French restaurant in The Hague! Starting from service, which is very thoughtful and attentive. As a compliment we received home baked baguette with their own butter. Main course was excellent. We had sole fish and duck confit. Both taste 10/10. Atmospheric-wise I felt like I’m in some petit French bistro somewhere in Paris. Small tip: reserve a table beforehand, they are pretty busy on the weekend.
great authentic place!Extremely ni e and accommodating staff!Liked the salad with fois-gras and creme brullee the most!
A little piece of Paris in the center of Den Haag. Delicious food, wonderful selection of wines, and great service.
I absolutely loved this place! The food was wonderful, I had duck with asparagus and for dessert a tarte tatin. All very tasty. Very attentive staff. The vibe of the place is very cool. Looks like youre in France. Many smokers were smoking outside and the smoke bothered me a lot.
Went there after it was recommended to me as one of the best French restaurants in the Hague. There was a lot of choice of traditional French food (among which snails, mussels, foie gras...which were good (except the foie gras had no tastebut I wouldnt go as far as amazing, as a French person I was expecting better.Restaurant is quite busy, gives the feeling of being a touristy place, they have a large staff but not everyone is very friendly or helpful (been told there was no more bread for the evening by one waitress and 2minutes later someone receives bread next to us).I will go back if I want an easy evening with friends but definitely not recommend for a couple or special occasion.
We enjoyed our dinner here. Sitting outside at typical (uncomfortableFrench small tables, in a nice small pedestrian street. One server (the owner?was doing great, the other so-so. And the food ... loved it.
Great French restaurant.Escargots were cooked perfectly. The duck just melted on the tongue. For desert only thing Gluten Free was the crème brûlée. But very good.Their wine selection is good.
LE bistro francais à La Hague.Really, Pastis would also be a favourite in any major city in France. Quality, service, ambiance, all 5 star. And it is undoubtedly the best Steak Frites in The Hague
Lots of delicious french dishes, including a scrumptious beef rib, côte de bœuf, and many famous others!! Impressive wine collection too!! Try a digestive Banyuls...
Great service, lovely place with a bistro atmosphere and excellent food. Oh and dont forget to check the wine menu.
Very friendly people. We got a makiato there (espresso with milk and foamand it was very good. If you are Italian or Albanian, you can get good coffee there (typically, the dutch coffee is so different from what in Italy and Albania).
Great French food and very cosy atmosphere.
This was amazing. Recommended by two separate people that are citizens of The Hague I didn’t expect to be disappointed, but still Pastis managed to exceed expectations.Upon arriving we were welcomed as if the hostess knew us, which is always a charming feeling. We were given a cozy spot in the corner of the restaurant at the window, people strolling through the narrow street on one side, the busy restaurant on the other. The walls are lined with old late art nouveau-like mirrors, slightly discoloured through the years. The ambience is just perfect.Pastis serves a classic French kitchen, and does so with vigour. I can’t explain it exactly, but if you find yourself in need of a recommendation, skip lunch and make a reservation here.
I love this place! They have a great range of pastis and the friendly staff are very knowledgeable. Their French food is decent and reasonably priced. The location and ambience are also really excellent.
So far so good. My wife and I had the nicest waitress in all of the galaxies! 🌌 holy guacamole
Amazing food, great service, very French seating (i.e. not comfortable but it adds to the experience. You want a semi-fancy, French night out? This is the place to go. Would def recommend.
Good, authentic French food and concept. Unfortunately, the sluggish and untrained service let everyone down.
Delicious restaurant with an excellent, classical french atmosphere. Prices were not too bad so definitely a somewhat reasonable place to go for a bite and a bottle of wine. I recommend making a reservation though as its unlikely to get a table otherwise.
Excellent service and great food. Very friendly and accomodating. Food delicious . Definitely would recommend this restaurant
Lovely restaurant, excellent service. Enjoyed both the French onion soup and on recommendation from the waiter, the duck breast, both very tasty.
All good, but a bit warm and space is very tight. Everything else including food and service is good.
Great food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go again!
The cote du boeuf was delicious! And the frites too! Really friendly staff! Well be back!
This is your hidden gem in the Hague! Be sure to make a reservation in the weekends ;)
Nice little deGrasse on the street where you can take a drink and relax. It is a French restaurant as well, but I did not yet eat there.
Pastis has great food and the menu of the week/day is always recommended. When we say great, we mean very tasty and the portions are fair. The service is good, the restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. In the summer, you can enjoy and eat outside on the tiny little side walk. This gives a very picturesque and lovely atmosphere.
The food was very good. Had the scallops, the côte de boeuf and a mouelleux aux chocolat. Friendly staff and fine selection of digestives.
Dissapointing, especially for the price. Service is really mediocre even for Dutch standards. While the food doesnt taste bad, it isnt out of the ordinary either, which you would expect however from a decent French restaurant. The mussels are incredibly bland and since they serve such heaps one kinda loses the taste after eating half of them. Sadly its also incredibly loud inside and its hard to hold a normal conversation.
Terrible experience. I ordered the vegetarian entree, which was lacking in flavor but, even worse, made me very nauseous. Ive thrown up several times this evening, immediately going home after the meal. And, yes, it is vastly overpriced, needless to say. Hoping my stomach will settle soon :( Please try your chances at another restaurant.
A genuinly wonderful restaurant with most popular French dishes very well presented and cooked. Served with a smile, quality first. Good wine options, a pleasure to visit. Try the duck.
Great French food in the Hague.... good service. Place gets busy so make a reservation. And thus it can get a little cafe like noisy which is part of its charm!
The best place in town to have a diner! You have to try the steak with bearnaise sauce.
Nice atmosphere and staff. The food was nothing to write home about, their deserts are the highlight of the meal. Their mains are ok. Snails for a starter was a novelty, but not something Id rush back for.
Awesome place. Best in town. Lovely attentative staff. Bonus: twenty seconds from a bar called the Huppel, which is, by a long margin, the best bar in the Hague...
Atmosphere is nice, food ok, price quite high, and service is the worst part in the restaurant! Weve been there because we suddenly wanted to eat some deserts and drink some coffee, but once the waitress notice we were not going to order their super fancy expensive main course, their attitude change (even though the deserts are also pricy!they ignore us, and kept us waiting for more than 30 mins to serve the créme brûlée. Waiting fine, but attitude is not acceptable! Never come back and never recommend to anyone!
The food was not that bad but they were very cheeky with the bill. Ended up paying 40% more just because they displayed the price very misleading. I wouldnt recommend this place. Theyre a few nice places around. These guys are bastards!
Feels like a chain even if it isnt. Descent French brasserie style cooking. Mid range pricing.
Good French food but it doesnt excel. The place tries to be high-range (the prices go in that directionbut overall it lacks that extra to qualify for it. Youll surely get here some good French food and a good French atmosphere by coming here, but its not a striking restaurant.
