Informal, lively setting with communal tables for inventive Italian pastas and playful cocktails.
Pastaio in Colombia
Description
Privilege
We stopped at Pastaio for a quick lunch, and after waiting 10 minutes for a table, we were seated. The food was nice as was the waitress - but the portions are quite small. We paid £13 for each pasta dish but weren’t left feeling very full afterwards. The flavour itself is nice but nothing amazing - overall a decent lunch.
MoreA stunning little pasta 🍝 restaurant, 5/5 ⭐️- I had the clam pasta which was so delicious paired with the the Nero d’Avola red wine 🍷 (perfection!definitely want to try a Prosecco slushie next time, how fun!- ricotta cheesecake for dessert, also equally as deliciousThe staff were super friendly and attentive- definitely recommend this gorgeous spot that’s just around the corner from the famous Carnaby street!
MoreThe service was really quick, considering the number of people that were there. The food was good, staff was very friendly but a lady by the name Alice made my experience there great by being patient, smiling, approachable and understanding. Even the lady host who welcomed was great as well amd the gentleman who took my order. Overall deserves 5 star.
MorePasta was delicious but there was a lot of sand in the mushrooms. Tomato salad was very delicious. The staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly.
MoreIve got to avoid multiple foods due to breastfeeding my child with allergies. They were able to cater really well for me, gave great communication and we were really impressed by the food and service. Would recommend!
MoreWent for a quick bite to eat after work with a friend.Prices are decent for Soho.Portions are a little bit on the smaller side but are acceptable. The pasta itself was good. Initially my plate had too much pepper though so the entire dish just tasted of pepper. I let the waiter know, he apologised and he immediately brought me another plate which was good this time around. No questions asked, no fuss. Overall the staff was friendly, especially also considering how busy they were and how many people they needed to cater to.
MoreLovely Italian place in Carnaby Street, with an interesting selection in their menu for the pasta. The food was delicious, and I also got the grappa (very Italian).Def recommend it.
MoreI had just been to the ballet and needed something quick and easy to eat. I popped in here and the gentleman who served me was really nice and friendly. We also had a bit of a laugh as he was quite funny. I ordered a pizza to takeaway. It was ready within 10-15 minutes. It was nice and hot and tasted great. I would definitely go back here again and maybe try the pasta from the menu next time.
MoreVery cool interior. Friendly service and the most delicious pasta ever
Really disappointing experience at Pastaio.Firstly the food was simply bland and tasteless. I had the vegan meatball pasta which just had no taste; the meatballs were also dry. The starter of heritage tomato salad was the only saviour. The wine was good too.In addition the service was poor. They simply delivered the food to our table, with no offer of cheese or pepper/salt. During the meal, nobody asked how it was.Overall a poor experience and would not return.
MoreIve been around in a lot of Italian restaurants but this is by far the worst in terms of quality- price.1 we had a reservation but we had to wait for one table to be available...2 no one smile or asked us if everything was okay they just tried to avoid costumers, they were absolutely unhappy to serve us: unpleasant. Obviously they made pay us 12.50% service charge...3 the amount of food is not enough, you wont feel full after a dish of pasta!! .the portions are small but well spread on the plate.. (dishonest )4 the quality of the food is not fresh!!!!The pasta wasnt fresh !!!!!!This area though is beautiful and full of nice places to eat for less with a better quality.
MoreModern place in a fun area. The slushies are a nice treat and food is good. Honestly our favorite picks were the facaccio and burrata. The pasta options were good and we really loved their pesto sauce. Prices are a bit high, but service was great and we felt like they took great care of our group. Wed definitely go again and do recommend it if youre looking for pasta in this specific area.
MoreHad the most AMAZING pasta. From the first bite you could tell it was freshly made. I never realised how much of a difference that makes and I’m still craving it the next day. We ordered the lobster dish for 2 (£42and it was huge, came in a hot pot, and was absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff and amazing service. Very nice Aperol Spritz. 10/10 and dying to go again!
MoreSadly Average. We got cocktails along with several antipasti (okbut the mains were pretty average to poor. Didn’t love the sauces, pasta didn’t have a fresh feel. Quite disappointed given the prices. But the restaurant atmosphere and service was great.
MoreCame for my best friends birthday meal. Lovely place with lovely staff! The food was absolutely gorgeous, we took ages to decide what to get but eventually settled on the courgette dish and sausage ragu, with focaccia to start and a tiramisu for dessert.Everything was delicious! I am also grateful to staff for being accommodating when I asked if they could add a candle to the dessert for my friends birthday. Will definitely like to come back and try the lobster linguine!
MoreBeen here twice now. Food is great, and extremely fresh - the tomato pasta especially and the price is reasonable too. Would definitely recommend and come again.
MoreOne of the best places I’ve gone to for pasta and service. The staff are amazing and focus on customers and their needs. I would definitely recommend pastaio for families as well as dates. Dey was an amazing server and Pippa on the front of house was accommodating and lovely. This establishment, for their food and service, is amazing and as I said is definitely recommended by myself and other colleagues. Thank you for the service and wonderful experience!
MoreQuite disappointing. The host was nice and seated us quickly, however the waitress was very curt with us. We both ordered the sausage Ragu. The food came quickly but was flavourless and watery, not what we expected at all from Italian food. When we got the bill I went to the loo. During which my partner had the card machine thrust in his face, despite us going to split (it is 2022 after allwhen he stumbled to pay the waitress sighed. Not really on, having worked in hospitality 7 years I get it, but some common politeness and decent food ain’t that hard now.
MoreBeen here a good few times and haven’t once been disappointed! The service and food is beyond excellent :better to book in advance as the wait can be a while if you just walk in
MoreI booked this place for dinner. Loved the food here, very delicious Italian dishes. But I must say, the main portion is quite small so you definitely need to get a starter and dessert on top of your mains to help fill you up. But if you prefer a small, light lunch, this is perfect. Service was fast. We finished starter, main and dessert all in half an hour. The food does come out very quickly. And of course because the main was small anyway so you can definitely finish it under 10 minutes.
MoreGOT FOOD POISONED FR this restaurant is A NO. the octopus salad is not it and Ill get pics attached for people to see the state of it..its jus a NO. The pasta was uncooked as well idk why is the hype so big but NOT WORTH IT. (At least the waiter let us cancelled our orders tho x)
MoreI NEVER write restaurant reviews but I must write one for pastaio! The ENTIRE experience was excellent. From the service to the food. We ordered 3 mains, they were divine. I can’t wait to take to social media to shout about it! Honestly dreamy. Giulia however made our experience complete, such a knowledgable and sweet waitress. She answered all our questions with no hesitation and made our experience 10/10. Highly recommend!
MoreWas able to get a seat quickly even on a busy saturday evening. The food was lovely, and as someone who is gluten free although they initially said they cannot guarantee no cross contamination, they showed me that the gf prep space was different to the rest of the space and there was also a barrier in between, and I was able to eat safely here as a coeliac. Menu and even drinks have the main allergens noted which is very helpful. Gf pasta is in the background. Good food, good staff. A shame I couldnt try the famous daiquiri slushie!
MoreThe tastiest, best value fresh pasta in London. Order the foccacia which is perfect for scopa!
MoreA bit disappointed by the quality and execution of the dishes. While the service was lovely and welcoming, the pastas were sticky and the carbonara sauce itself was overwhelming salty and cheesy instead of being rich and silky.Ordered two plates of pastas and two juices for £45 total… Quite expensive for the quality of the food.
MoreGreat pasta restaurant in the heart of Soho. Good variety of fresh pasta dishes. Overall nice and buzzing atmosphere. The service was good. I would recommend to start a fun night out in London. The house wine was also very good.
MoreGenerally, the food was great. The Focaccia was quite salty but got it sorted quite quickly. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable.
MoreAll the dishes are extraordinary, I think I will revisit one more time before I head back to my home country ❤️
MoreWe had the dorset crab pasta and the cuttlefish ragu. Like some other reviews have mentioned, the dishes sadly lacked flavour. Had to ask for some salt, but even that didnt save them. The pasta also seemed overcooked, the consistency was unpleasant. However, the rosemary focaccia was lovely, service was quick and the staff were friendly.
MoreGood menu, crab spaghetti was divine! The tiramisu dessert was perfect and great portion size!
MoreWe had a very nice waiter. The focaccia was very nice and then we had the black and white carb spaghetti.... it had nice flavour... but not the best place to go if you already really hungry. We felt the portion size was small for the price. Quite sad really
MoreReally yummy food and quick service too. Recommend booking though as it was super busy, but didnt feel cramped. The prosecco, gin and raspberry slushie was great!
MoreDelicious pasta, great ambience and super service... loved this place! Will definitely go again and highly recommend!
MoreLovely relaxed restaurant setting. Perfect for a quick catch up meal with a friend. We shared 3 pasta dishes between 2 of us which was the perfect amount. We went for the kale pesto with burrata, Cacio E Pepe and sausage ragu (which was my personal favourite). All were delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely come here again.
MoreWent here for a quick bite before a show. I had the lobster pasta at £21. It was creamy and had a nice tomato base but did lack flavour. At best it was worth £15. No reservation was needed, and the service was very speedy. The wine options were all from wine on tap, which does reduce the quality of course. I would rate a 3.5, as the rest of the dishes seemed to be better value for money.
MoreMy sons and I just had a late lunch here, because one of them insisted that pasta here was even better than Padella’s. Not too sure about that (different kind of places), but I am sure that all the food at Pastaio tasted lovely and fresh, and was served by one of the best front of house teams ever.Focaccia was herby and light, as was the olive oil drizzled over a creamy burrata. Caponata was dark, rich and delicious. Each of the pasta dishes - “white” bolognese, pesto and the tasty little nduja number - was perfectly seasoned and matched with the right pasta shape. Mercifully, the pasta was cooked to perfection - none of that ridiculous super al dente nonesense.Tiramisu was spot on.We had fun.Thank you.
MoreThe lobster was a little un-meaty😅 but the atmosphere was great and I got an outdoor seating with blankets provided! Service was superb as well but remember to book a seat before going or you’ll have to wait ~30mins!
MoreWe stumbled across Pastaio by chance at around 9pm one evening, when many restaurants nearby were closing. We were very hungry, and pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, warm and friendly service, and reasonable prices. The rosemary foccacia was delicious and the wild garlic pesto was a stand out.
MoreGreat ambiance, food, staff and prices. Try the olive bread lovely sea salt taste
MoreAmazing deco , place to be for a dinner with friend please have a deep look I’ve the menu multiple options are there as you wantAdvice take a reservation
MoreNice, cozy environment. Quick service. Really nice pasta. Especially cacio e pepe with casarecce🍝 just the portion its a bit small. We had caccio e pepe , vegan meatballs , focaccia and buratta.
MoreI visited last night with a group of friends for my birthday dinner. We were probably the nightmare table as everyone arrived at different times and we took a while to make decisions, however the staff were INCREDIBLE all night. We were served mainly by a younger team member with long blonde hair who was absolutely lovely.Pasta portions are a little small, but I believe that youre supposed to order 3 dishes between two, which makes sense. Flavours were great, wine was reasonably priced and their tiramisu is to die for.All in all a great evening, I would definitely return to try more of their menu.
MoreThis was a lovely location down a side street with lots of other restaurants and a great atmosphere (if you sit outside). However, we were told the pasta would go cold very quickly so opted to sit inside, which was also great. The service was lovely and we were looked after. We’d seen lots of adverts on Instagram for this place but were slightly underwhelmed by the food. It was good but didn’t blow us away. I’d say good value for money!
MoreExceptional service from our server Darcey who was amazing all evening and so lovely. Enjoyed sitting outside with the heaters and blankets. The wines are gorgeous and food is delicious.A note for management - the only thing I would improve is portion size and the food was cold coming out. When people think of pasta they think a big hearty plate, it was more a starter size. I was left a big hungry and wished the food was hot coming out.Beautiful restaurant though will be back!
MoreSaw this place on Tiktok & decided to give it a try. We booked outside seating and although its in busy Carnaby Street it was still lovely, we had blankets on our seats and were under outdoor heating so it was all very cosy. The staff were great and so attentive and friendly and the food was 10/10 every dish was absolutely delicious!! Ive already recommended it to my friends & family and am planning my next trip back.
MoreWent to this place in order to try out a new Italian place. The reviews looked really good. We ordered aubergine caponata and thought it might become my new favourite pasta place. Caponata with rosemary focaccia was heavenly. If it was the review for small plates, I would rate it 5 🌟But then we got the pasta dishes. We ordered three different ones on the menu and all based on recommendations. Staff was very lovely and thoughtful. However the dishes itself didnt hit the mark. Dont get me wrong, the pasta was good but not compared to the likes of padella, flour and grape. And to finish, the tiramisu was an absolute bliss. One of the best, Naples style, in London.
MoreWe went specifically for the vegan menu, which was delightful. Its very reasonably priced so you can try a few things. Everything was fresh and made to order. The courgette pasta and slushie cocktails were great. The aubergine caponata is one not to miss too!
MoreGreat place for a basic pasta, like tomato with basilica, really tasty and delicious. However the “advanced” pastas like Bolognese are overpriced, as of me. The size of plate is the same, it has a little of meat and price 2.5x higher than a basic one. It still tastes good, but I just can’t say that it worth those money
MoreThe restaurant is located in a very nice part of Soho, which is great. The food was good and was very fresh to taste! I especially loved the Amalfi lemon spaghetti pasta as the flavour was just perfect and the lemon wasn’t overpowering. The tiramisu was good portioned! The only reason why I rate it a 4 is because we felt a bit rushed at times which prevented us from spending a good amount of time in the restaurant.
MoreGood flavourful food, tastes fresh. Portions are on the smaller side and suffice an individual. Nice, comfortable place for an evening out with friends or even by yourself on Carnaby Street. We were served by a very friendly member of staff and the service was outstanding. Personally the Aubergine dish won my heart and the clam spaghetti was good too, the clams a little gritty but I guess a clam wouldnt be a clam without the grit. Overall good authentic Italian food with a lovely ambience. Would have given 5 stars if a little more attention was paid to the washrooms.
