Decades-old restaurant dishing out traditional Persian & Mediterranean plates in a casual setting.
authentic Persian restaurant, the cook is extremely nice. You can tell he’s been cooking for years. We started with the sampler! , soup, salad, main course chicken and shrimp. I enjoyed all the flavors and bold seasoning. I would go back and try other food. The waitress was very welcoming and the restaurant was clean . A very nice atmosphere
Each time we have a nice experience and a delicious meal! One of my favorite spots here in Chicago. You feel special from the start and the service leaves you with a smile :)
Very quiet and intimate setting. Dinner for two was enough for both of us. Brought my husband here to enjoy our Anniversary. We will definitely be back. Plus they gave me a 🌹 before we left.
I’ve really enjoyed this place. I got the Beef Soltani and thought the two different meats complimented each other well.My girlfriend got pita bread w/hummus and eggplant spread. I can’t eat the pita because I’m on a diet, but it smelled great. I did try both sauces and enjoyed them, very unique from the recent Mediterranean binge I’ve been on.Definitely worth a shot. We’ll be back.
Pars Cove was a wonderful surprise! Our group of 9 called ahead and asked to see if we could on a whim get a spot and the owner set us up with a private-ish little area to eat. He suggested we get the appetizer sampler and a few kabob trays and it was incredible! I wish I had the time to take photos of the food, but we ate it so quickly that i didn’t even get the opportunity! The Eggplant dip, the lentil soup, the Shiraz salad, and the meat were all seasoned wonderfully! Sangria was great too. The owner was also incredibly nice! Will be back soon!
Good ambiance, tasty food, fast service and good prices .They went an extra mile, they gave us a rose to take .
Best service and Persian food Ive experienced in the city. Wonderful menu and knowledgeable servers with the best recommendations.
Visited this hidden gem on a whim, and had an excellent time! The owner and staff were extremely friendly and the tucked away restaurant is surprisingly spacious. The food was delicious and the vegetarian platter was phenomenal. The menu was super gluten-free friendly as well! Overall the meal was some of the best Persian food ive had and we were delighted by the roses we were gifted at the end.
We tried the kabab platter for 2. You can get a set menu soup, salad, main course and sweet. The chicken and shrimp was salty but they compensated us with $10 off the bill. Over all it’s a nice place.
The food is average. We got 3 course meal the soup was so good, the main dish was not a real Persian food and the desert is below average. There’s dining in and out. I tried the dining out in summer it’s not cool.
From appetizer to dessert the freshest and most scrumptious meal that Ive had in a long time. Depth of flavor is amazing, service outstanding and delightful, and atmosphere is unsual, but cozy. Wonderful experience!!!
Amazing food and amazing experience! There was so much care and attention given to our party. 1000% recommend
I had the chicken Olivieh and it was really nice and refreshing. Server was polite and accommodating.
Great food in a comfortable atmosphere. I have never had a bad experience.Mr Par is there often. The ladies in the party get a fresh rose at the end of the meal (hint-hint: good date night spot). This is my wifes favorite restaurant. She loves the Salmon Fesenjen (but the sauce is also very good on lamb). I get something different each time, but never disliked anything there. The Hummus is some of the best I have had (really good with cold chicken nuggets if you find yourself with leftovers).Over all, just go and enjoy.Update: Still there. Still great! However, I didnt mention the cash discount in my original review.
Weve walked by this place hundreds of times and finally tried. The dinner for two is perfect. It comes with an appetizer sampler, soup/salad, filling platter with rice and meats (or veggiesand a simple, delicious dessert. They have a cute patio and lovely inside seating as well. This is a wonderful, neighborhood place.
This place is the real deal. The owner, Max, couldn’t be kinder, and the food is delicious. Great vegetarian/vegan options and a nice sidewalk patio for those beautiful Chicago summer evenings.
My wife and I absolutely love this place!!! It is quaint, has outdoor seating, and been around since 1976. Moreover the food is top notch!!!! The fesenjan chicken and lemon garlic salmon three course dinners set the Persian standard by which we measure all others. The owner goes the extra mile to please since it is his pride and he even gives a beautiful rose in each visit !!
I’m humbled today to be here at this restaurant. This is a small, possibly a family run place; you can understand a lot from the vibe, servers and the look of the menu. The menu looks elaborate yet simple and there are many vegetarian options as well. Portion sizes are great, we tried the appetizer sampler and had so much fun. Cute little place for an intimate dinner. 💯 recommended. You can feel culture in air and taste it in food 🎉🍾 our night ended with and an Amazing simple dessert that comes with the entree, and a stick of rose from the owner! Thank you
Such a lovely place with nice staff and friendly manager. Tasty food with perfect portions.
This place is a hidden food haven. Everything about this place is classic and authentic. We loved the food, the service was fantastic. The atmosphere was excellent.
We love this place!!! Food is delicious, staff is awesome and the owner is great chef! Perfect lil romantic gem! and they always give ladies 🌹 at the end of the dinner!
Absolutely outstanding in every sense! The hospitality and friendliness of the staff absolutely matched the deliciousness of the food which is super-delicious and authentic. An absolutely must-visit!
We loved everything here. First we had the eggplant appetizer. I noramlly stay away from eggplant, but I absolutely loved this dish, and the bread was great with it. The lentil soup was the best Ive ever had, paired with cucumber salad (get both, and split with your dining partner).I had the combo kabobs for dinner, one beef tenderloin, and one lamb, and loved both. I would say, get the lamb -- since you can get tenderloin at many places, but its not every reataurant that has lamb kabobs on the menu! They had several different preparations, but I got the one with chunks of tender leg meat, which was both lean and tender. Very flavorful -- much moreso than your standard steak, which I loved. The dessert icecream with a light cake-type pastry on the side capped off the meal perfectly. I was so impressed. Well make this place a regular stop!
A hidden gem with great food and wonderful service. The owner is almost always there and is super nice. It is my wifes most favorite restaurant in all of the city.
Had a great experience highly recommend the appetizer sampler and the meat tray. Great service
Such a cute spot for a date night. Get the appetizer platter - it has so many great items on it and is the perfect way to get a nice variety with your meal. I’ve tried the lamb, chicken, and veggie dishes and all were great. The staff is always so caring and sweet. They’ve got some nice specials too on a regular basis if you are looking for a filling meal with multiple courses. Very affordably priced for everything you get!
This is my first google review ever, but I felt compelled because of how amazing our experience was. The location is a cozy, romantically lit spot partially underground but with beautiful skylight windows. And the decor matches the vibe perfectly, inviting and unique. Max greeted us warmly and was eager to answer any questions about the menu or specific dishes. He suggested a wine for us to share, and brought out a vase of pink flowers for the table! We split a vegetarian platter for 2, as well as the walnut pomegranate chicken. It comes with an appetizer sampler including olive tapenade, baba ghanoush, humus, warm pita bread, potato salad, stuffed grape leaves, and a tomato cucumber salad. All amazing, refreshing, and full of flavor! As for the main course, the chicken was tender and the spices were balanced perfectly with the slight sweetness of the walnut pomegranate sauce. The vegetarian dishes were equally wonderful. Dessert included a buttery carrot pound cake with vanilla bean ice cream topped with cinnamon powder and honey. I’m sad to say that I’ve never thought of such a perfect combination. When we asked for the check, Max presented each of us with a red rose!! The service here cannot be beat, and we all left with a huge smile and a promise to come back asap. All around a memorable experience and so far my FAVORITE restaurant in the city. Thanks Max!!!
Amazing service and food!! Loved the cozy atmosphere and food portions - perfect place for a date night and will definitely be coming back
My partner and I had a fantastic date night here this evening. Our server was fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious - the hummus was some of the best wed ever had! The atmosphere is so charming and lovely that we cant wait to return!
Wonderful food and staff! Delicious from top to bottom and in a cozy little cove right off of Diversey. Offer a couples meal that includes Appetizer Platter, Soup or Salad for each of you, 2 Entrees, Dessert, AND a bottle of wine!! Literally the best deal and its delicious
Oh my goodness, went here for my birthday and it was AMAZING! the staff was SO friendly, the food was absolutelyincredible—so fresh and full of flavor! I even got a rose to take home on my way out! Cant recommend enough! :)
Just a lovely persian eatery, so private, and simple, I imagine a party of 10 could come here. Foods are well prepared.
Awesome ambiance! The server and the owner are so cheerful and kind.Food was DELICIOUS. Must Try!!
Pars Cove is a fantastic little spot for great, simple Persian fare. The menu is large enough to give options without being overwhelming. The portions are filling and delicious. But the best is the service! Our server was so sweet and very attentive. Would highly recommend.
Excellent, homey Persian food in a place thats been a hallmark of quality for over 30 years. Great lamb kebabs and eggplant dishes
This restaurant was so cute and the family / staff running it melted my heart even further! The Service was amazing and the Food was delicious. Highly recommend the tapenade and fresh bread, all the meats were juicy and flavorful. They even gave me a rose to take home at the end which I thought was the cutest and sweetest thing ever! Perfect spot for date night that is intimate yet not overbearing.
Honestly, I started off irritated because I made a reservation through OpenTable for 3:45pm and they didnt even open until 4pm. My friend and I decided to go check out other places, but so many businesses have become quite lazy about updating their hours during these COVID times its ridiculous. We decided to go back, and Im very glad we did. We were greeted warmly and sat immediately. The space was small but sunny and had great vibes. We had a Groupon which they honored enthusiastically and made great recommendations. The food was served efficiently, was delicious, and the portions were perfect. We were also each given a rose at the end of service.
I love this place! Ive been twice with my wife. The food is really good and the service is excellent! I dont know the name of the young lady waitress, but she reminds me of princess Jasmine. Shes really nice and has great energy! And the older gentleman that runs the place is about as smooth as they come.
Pars Cove is seriously fantastic. My girlfriend and I had an excellent time thanks to our waitress and Max, the owner. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was super lovely. Max even gave us a rose before we left. Top notch food and service! And truly the most romantic restaurant in Chicago. Well be back frequently!
Pars Cove was amazing, it truly is a hidden gem. Great prices for the amount of food you get, amazing flavors, and our waitress was so friendly and accommodating. The rice pudding dessert was so good. Comfortable atmosphere too. My boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back!
Wow! This place is a hidden gem! The food was fantastic, excellent serving size and perfectly priced. The service was out of this world! My friend and I were handed a red rose after our girls night dinner and we couldn’t have been more impressed. If you want to support a Chicago restaurant and be treated like a true guest, please try out this location. Hats off to Max and his crew over at Pars Cove! Thank you!!!!
Food was delicious and service was wonderful! A cozy environment for family or dates; we ordered a variety of dishes and everything was great. The server was flexible with requests and they even gave us extra appetizers, desserts, and roses for the ladies at the end. Place looks emptier due to COVID but please check this place out!
This restaurant is wonderful! My husband and I are always looking for a new spot for dinner and this is a gem. Our server was named Eric and he gave us such an amazing experience. He was so nice, patient and on it! We never had to wait for anything. He was helpful with our questions and made us feel special. On top of the great service... the food is to die for. We ordered lamb shanks. It slid off the the bone and melted in our mouths. We cannot wait to take our friends here!
The service and food was amazing. Food was cooked perfectly and served with a smile. I will definitely be returning!
My husband and I dined here with another couple and all four of us loved our meal. We started off with the tasty appetizer sampler platter and really enjoyed that. My husband and I got the chicken kabob for our entree and the chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The owner even brought out flowers for us ladies. So sweet. We will definitely be back. Wonderful experience all around!
Service was good but the food was okay. The pomegranate juice felt like it was made with pomegranate paste, the kabab was not so tasty, the lentil soup was good, I asked if he had mast o musir and brought me mint yogurt(which tasted good but, it wasnt what I wantedand the hummus was good. The food here isnt actual Persian food.
Been coming here for more than a decade. Still very good, however the hummus tonight was lacking. Maybe it needed more garlic or tahini but it was meh! Mediterranean lamb is good but needed a bit more sauce. The lentil soup was fine. Service a bit slow and not attentive this time: no water refill and never asked if I wanted a second glass of wine.
Okay here are the pros: Ambiance, some very good dishes on the menu, somewhat reasonably priced, cute gestures by the establishment: eg roses for the ladies, and most importantly: HALAL FOOD (except the beef tenderloin)Now to describe the cons. My husband and I went here for valentines day. We arrived earlier than our reservation and the patrons were kind enough to seat us straightaway. However, they gave us a table that was wedged in a row of tables, all seating couples. Normally i would not mind this, but a nearby section was completely empty and I happened to be heavily pregnant so I had to make my way through a narrow space, my tummy almost hitting the nearby couples and im sure ruining their budding romance. We soon noticed that everyone around us was using a groupon for the four course meal. Dang it, my husband and I thought. We shouldve made the reservation with a groupon too. We were still mulling over the groupon situation when the server asked us if wed like soup or salad. We went with soup. That was the only qs we were asked about the food we wanted to have. We thought someone would take our order but somehow it was already decided that wed be having the four course meal. The appetizer sampler we started off with was okay. Nothing special, the lentil soup was average too. The entree, which we did not pick ourselves was the persian tray for two. The lamb and chicken tenderloin were delicious, however. The dessert included tiny serving of ice creams (my pregnancy appetite desired more). The meal cost us 80 dollars and we felt we werent given our moneys worth. Especially since the 4 course meal included wine/margaritas and since we didnt take alcohol, there was nothing non alcoholic on the menu we could have instead. That was pretty strange considering the food was halal and all and the restaurant served persian food. However, all in all Id give the place a high rating , because of the entree and the ambiance. Dont forget to reserve your table with a groupon in advance!
Amazing place! Chicken and lamb were perfect! Our visit made our day! Thank you
Ive been here twice before (years ago), but the latest third visit will be my last.Seats and table cloths have holes in them, plates were wet or dirty, glasses were dirty, ice bucket was not provide for white wine, and appetizer was removed before we finished it, but The hummus and olive spread were flavorful. We were told they were out of lamb chops 10 minutes after ordering them (what most of us had orderedand then told we would be charged extra for sharing some food. Since the appetizers were removed and we had to reorder our food, we sat for 20 min before the soup was brought out. When the soup finally arrive it was unappetizing; lentil soup tasted burnt and burnt lentils were visible.AC is very loud and blows directly on some guests.Music is soft and allows for communication.Has vegetarian options (mostly vegetables in a sauce, hummus, or dry dalma).Red peppers were not deseaded. No salt or pepper on tables. There was hair in the ice cream.Bathroom is poorly lit and rust was visible, male bathroom was out of paper towels.
