A paradise for people who love science
Wonderful science museum. It’s huge and it has a biodomo and a planetarium. The only “buts” are the food, that is horrible, and the absence of more exhibitions.
MoreUnexpectedly awesome experience. Took my 4 and 6 yr old to kill some time. We bought a ticket to the biodome and the museum. The Biodome is a one way mini zoo/aquarium that essentially takes you from the rivers and reefs to the mangroves and up into the rainforest. Its not huge but OMG they pack alot of stuff in. You are allocated a time and need to enter then(this got lost in translation and we almost missed our time slotPerfect for smaller legs. There are jellyfish, sharks, seahorses, tropical fish, river fish, a sting ray, goldfish, turtles, frogs, snakes, salamanders, mud skippers, alligators, otters, a scorpion, toucans, marmosets and so many more animals to look at my son was in heaven. The Museum itself is also really cool with really well thought out and interactive exhibits. We saw one on how animal design is used my humans in things from engineering to wing-suits while the other we looked at went through the human body from primordial soup to cells to organ systems and medical treatments and diet. There were heaps of staff around to help explain and all the exhibits had english explanations for us to understand. Outside there was a bird of prey show which we skipped as well as some really cool interactive activities from giant cheese to water channels and optical illusions. You could easily spend a full day here to see everything. Well thought out, educational experience. How lucky are the people of Granada to have this. Wish I had taken more photos, I was too busy playing with all the exhibits!
MoreAmazing and beautiful place. You can spend a hole day in it without feeling bored.
MoreEnormous science park, very educational for all age groups, you can spend the whole day here with family friends. They have paid shows about birds and a biosphere with sea and land animals.A lot of different outdoor sections as well for kids to interact with installations , enjoy and learn
MoreFantastic- the biodome ( aquarium and zoois brilliant in its own right. Plus there are so many hands on exhibits and really interesting and curious stuff. Our teenage daughters loved it. Tickets are valid 24hrs- so we went 2 hrs one evening and 2 hrs the next morning- so much to do!!!!
MoreFantastic! One day is not enough! We could go back tomorrow and do it again. The staff are incredibly helpful and the aquarium in the biodome spectacular.
Morethe bio dome is fantastic and worth the money. there is also enough interactive activities in the museum itself to pass about an hour on a rainy day, which is always good to have.my biggest gripe and what loses a few stars is the floorplan and the fact that almost none of the buildings or rooms are labelled, and there are no signs pointing you to where you need to go. i had to ask the staff for directions to the dome, the planetarium, and the exit - and the thing that looks like a planetarium when you walk outside isnt actually the planetarium, so make sure you leave enough time before your show starts to find the proper building. to summarise, the museum has a few truly great elements, but the overall impression is damaged by the lack of signs and convoluted layout
MoreIm not sure how anyone could give this pace less than five stars. Its very impressive. The biodome is one of the coolest exhibits Ive seen anywhere in the world. Stunningly close to the animals
MoreIts agreat idea to visit the museum, most festures are assembled with clhildren in mind. Is adapted to wheelchair use. The dont take resevations in avdavnced , only same-day and nex-day tickets. And the Biodomo exhibition can only be accesed after 6 pm. I hope they update their booking policy soon.
MoreThis place will blow your mindThe science park/museum of Granada was a great experience. Theirs plenty of exhibits and interactive experiments you can do that will keep you entertained and wanting to see and learn more. Robots, biology and medicine, physics, astronomy, and animals. Even if you are not too interested in science, the biodome offers a fun visual experience of seeing exotic animals up close. From sharks, jellyfish, alligators, snakes, monkeys and birds.Outside of the main museum and into the park offers more interactive thing you can do (like activities with water and about energyand a few other buildings you can enter; for example, the planetarium or the observatory. The staff are nice and friendly and (the ones I have spoke withwere able to speak English to various degrees of fluencyIf you are planning a trip here, give yourself plenty of time if you want to experience the whole museum. I would say atleast 3+hrs as this place is massive with all the things to see, read, watch, and do in the exhibits and outside the building. But if you are making a quick stop to see only one exhibit, I would recommend the biodome as it offers a unique, cool, close up experience with exotic animals.Note: observation tower was closed during my visit (February 2022)
MoreThis is the best science museum I have been to. I absolutely LOVED it! I went a couple years ago and no other museum has beat it. Its a great museum for any age group, from kids to adults or elderly. They have lots of cool and interesting experiments with very good explanations in multiple languages (english, spanish and I believe one or two more). They explain what is happening in the experiments and why. I truly recommend this musuem to everyone!! Its amazing! :)
MoreAbsolutely fantastic! We went for a quick look whilst visiting Granada and spent most of the day there. So many things to do and lots to keep the kids entertained! The Biodrome costs 3€ extra and is without a doubt the best part! All manner of animals to see.
MoreExcellent wether Adult or child its a must on a visit too Granada.
Granada’s Science Park is always a hit with the groups of teenagers that I take there. There’s something different for everyone, adults a like, and all the info is in Spanish and English making for a great bilingual experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it to families and groups :)
MoreFun for alle ages, bad/good weather? Be prepared to spend almost alle day to visit surely if you have time to visit. The exibition with the stuffed animals, with a lot of real life actions, animals chased by their predators is so real. Hat off for the taxidermist! The Space center takes some time with intresting footage of a tour by an astronaut in de ISS spacecraft. So much to see!The robots area is animated with a few process robots, one you can play a game with. There are a lot of films with what a robot is able to do...stunning.Watch the film with a band that consists of only robots, drummer, pianist and even an electric gitaar player...unbelievable!Enjoyed this do much, but....the best is for last....surely take two hours time to visit the BioDome...enormous aquariums and a bit of tropical forest with its flora and fauna..
MoreBiodome was great, but museum looked a little bit abandoned and some expositions felt out of date, maybe because of covid or off the season visit. Stuff was very helpful, but information in english was always in a small print and a few times we were confused where we should go next.
MoreCool biosphere, with fish and monkeys and other things. The rest of it was neat, but nothing special. The human body exhibit was well done, but the space one was a huge disappointment.Covid has affected a lot of the displays that would normally be interactive. They should alter the price to reflect the quality of experience.
MoreThis park contains a lot different kind of of exhibits, some are pop-ups, some always there. Robotics 2.0 was great, very interesting. Biopark is always a hit with the fish, sharks, birds and others. Recommend to visit and the price is very good.
MoreIts been a great resource for us during the pandemic, for kids and adults too. My young friend who is 8 loves the maze, the birds of prey and the outdoor games as well as the indoor exhibitions, and for a while we were going every Saturday. The one weak link is the cafeteria. The coffee is good, the setting really lovely, but the menu is aimed at school kids. Burgers and snacks in bags. If you want a proper meal, walk back to the town centre along the Rio Genil and check out the restaurants there. My favourite is Jamonero Sierra Nevada Gourmet.
MoreGreat place (well funded with EU transfer paymentsfor both adults and kids. All museum exhibitions are topnotch, while the BioDome was more interesting for our toddler than Fuengirolas Zoo.
MoreUsually this is a very hands on and interactive experience, at the moment there is no touching any surfaces. Interesting new exhibition
MoreBecause of COVID-19, a lot of the exhibitions such as the butterfly house and the plantariums were closed, which was disappointing; however, the few exhibitions that WERE open made it all worth it! The BioDome is a must-see, with three distinct levels. The cages are very spacious and have no roof, so some animals (like the birds and monkeyscan fly out and walk around. The aquatic parts are very clean, and if youre lucky, youll get to see the feedings. The space exhibition has some great space exploration artifacts and a very good collection of geological items. Their gardens are well-made and nicely labelled. Everything was very informative and interesting, in both Spanish and English. A lot of the exhibitions I saw had audioguides for free downloading, so invest in a QR scanner if you dont have one on your phone. Wifi was free and good. Make sure to bring a water bottle, as the fountains in the buildings and outside are a bit awkward to use. All in all, worth the trip.
MoreSo awesome! Recommended for all ages, so many interactive and interesting exhibits with an observation tower and planetarium! Highly recommend!
MoreAmazing science park. Beats every other science park I have ever been to which includes London, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. The area is huge with many activities to keep inquisitive minds of any age entertained for hours.Have gone more than 30 times and still find new things we have never seen. The new biodome is definitely worth a visit as well.Truly a world-class science park in the heart of Granada!
MoreI went there a few days and it was great fun! The entire place is brain candy. I advice you to bring your own food. There are endless eating tables in the outside area and the sights are beautiful! One thing that bothered me though was the dispensing machines. Dont buy from them because at the time of this review one was broken and my food got stuck in it.But overall this might be my favorite place in Granada.
MoreGreat place for kids to learn and have fun at the same time.
Absolutely fabulous space with so many engaging exhibits. It is surprising how fresh and modern the whole place feels yet it was constructed around 1995, I think (!?). We took children ages 10, 8 and 3 who are often troublesome to keep entertained in “museums”, however we stayed for about 5 hours and the price is reasonable for the amount on offer. The bio dome would cost at least as much as the combined ticket in other locations and countries. Very good value and a great day out, with plenty of outdoor space too. 🔭🧪🔬
MoreComing from Boston, home of the science museum, I was skeptical of this place. It is huge and so well done! We loved it so much we bought an annual pass. Unexpected museum in Granada that most people wouldnt think of checking out, but lots of fun and education for the kids.
MoreExcellent day out for children of all ages as well as adults. Wojld recommend the Bio Dome as a must you walk round and the birds snd animals are free to roam.
MoreGreat museum, very interactive and recently renovated. The butterfly house was especially gorgeous.
MoreThe best scientific exposition in Europe. All information in Spanish and English. In each hall there are consultants in yellow t-shirts who can answer any questions. Medicine and body structure, music and sound, wild word and etc and etc. Planetary and bio-house with small number of inhabitants, but may be enough for children. Separate playing room. Science shows.
MoreGreat museum
My boyfriend and I spent a few hours here, everything was perfect and the staff were very helpful and attentive but we didnt get to enjoy everything to the fullest as the day/time we chose to go it seemed every school on Spain was visiting, lots of loud, obnoxious kids shouting and pushing in front of us. I love kids but it seemed their supervisors had no control over them and they were running rampage all over the place. We take the blame for our bad timing but we missed going up the observation tower because a big group of children pushed in front of us and by the time they finished it was no longer open. Also think the Biodome is a better place to keep the animals as there was a terrified little mouse in solitary confinement in one of the exhibitions. Definitely recommend but find out when their quieter days/times are - and for the science park I recommend the large school groups are all with a guide so the children are under control and will actually learn something instead of possibly aggravating an animal, breaking an interactive exhibition or upsetting other visitors.
MoreI was feeling very sorry for the owls, eagels and falcons. They was tied up on a chain they nearly couldnt move, when we was there. The animals have to suffer just that the visitors can have fun??? This is so cruel in my opinion! My kids was really sad!A little mouse was locked up in a tiny terrarium, she was shacking!WHY a modern museum needs to mistreat animals? I hope you will give this poor mouse and also the poor birds a better future!!!Will never visit this museum again!
MoreMy favorite place in Granada for sure.recommend for kids and adults, alone, with friends, or with family.Very fascinating place and going there is an amazing exploration journey. You get to test and touch most things with your own hands and learn about them by reading or listening, it has different parts (machines, safety, wild life, human bodymy personal favorite is the human body section. This is truly more the worth your time, unimaginably fun and unique.Ive visited twice and would love to go a 3rd time!
MoreAmazing museum. The WOOW exhibition is one of the best animal exhibition Ive seen!
MoreScience and fun for small and bigger children in Granada, Spain.
Good park and museum, after Valencian city of art and science it was not that interesting for me in museum, but still I recommend you to go there, also price 7 eur for museum is very good. Most of all i enjoyed wow exhibition, never seen animals in such poses. Also nice area outside, and lots of wild birds you can see for free
MoreThis was an excellent place to visit. The Biodome was by far the best part - there are parts you walk through that are completely open to the animals - the lemurs and marmosets come right up to you and jump over your head! We went on the last day of our trip and regretted it - we could have stayed all day with all the different areas and things to do but unfortunately didn’t have time. Would really recommend going!
MoreThis was a pretty cool science museum and tons to do to keep the kiddos busy. We got there about 3 and it closed at 7, so 4 hours total. We still didnt get to see everything, so plan accordingly. Also eat prior or bring snack/meal. Im not sure if your able to eat in there but I did see others do so. They have lockers as well. They have a cafeteria inside too but limited on options and extremely overpriced. I had order some melon and it was sour/bad but didnt have problems returning it. They also have a nice gift shop as well. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, bought the general + bio dome tickets, came out to €40. Not bad at all for all the entertainment. Definitely worth a visit for the kids and adults.
MoreTheres enough to do here to spend the whole day. The bird show is included in the ticket and worth going to. The biodome and planetarium are extra but all together still very reasonable. Some of the exhibits are broken and a bit dated but they will keep kids entertained.
MoreWonderfully designed science park for all ages
Very cool place. You can easily spend several hours here. Signs are mostly in English and Spanish.
MoreBrilliant place but we needed more time. We would visit again and spend the day there.
MoreLoved it! Can easily spend a whole day there and not see everything. Traveled around Spain and this was my favorite part of the whole trip. The bio-dome, butterfly enclosure and stuffed animal exhibit were highlights. So many interactive and fun science exhibits.
MoreWhat a great place. We are on a tour of Europe and this is our 4th science museum and this is up there with London. Kids just loved it, lots of interactive stuff for our boys (5&3to do and the bio dome is fantastic. Bits of it are Spanish only but for this most part its explained well in Spanish and English. We were there for 5 hours in the shoulder season end of September and still we didnt get around to everything. Recommend.
MoreGrate place for few hours visit. It is ideal for small and big kids ;). Buy general ticket to visit all atractions and ne aware or tower working time! This one of the best places in Granada
MoreMany interesting things. Different expositions. I was 3 hours there
We loved an interactive playroom for the kids, and certain exhibitions, the tour on the tower with views over Sierra Nevada. The worst thing is that the place closes the most of interesting places for 3hr siesta. Feels incredible barbarity in the 21st century.
