Parque de Bombas in Fajardo

Amazing place. I always make it a point to stop here when I come to PR. The way it’s preserved is awesome and it’s well taken care of and maintained. If ya have a few hours stop and visit. Parking can be scarce but even this night I managed to find a spot on the block.

It’s small so you only need about ten minuto see everything.

Iconic Fire Fighters Museum in the heart of the City of Ponce. More than a few places to eat and walk around, the scenery is breath taking plenty of stores to shop. I highly recommend this experience.

Great little mini museum dedicated to the firemen who saved Ponce after the great fires. Free entry, doesnt take long to get through. Staff is really nice and bilingual.

Had a great time at this tiny museum full of history and wonder. We also had a short but detailed run through with tour guide Doriel, who whas gracious enough to show us around.

The Bombas Park is one of the nicest stops in Ponce.This very old decommissioned firehouse is a must see. It is home to old artifacts from the time of the firefighters as well as art today.The admission is totally free but must sign the guest book.

Wow! Go on a Sunday afternoon. There is so much music and so many activities to participate in. We were even blessed with an angelic performance by children from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All the live music, cool cars, fountains, and the artisans plus the Parque itself.

What a fun old town square area. We loved it! The firestation was amazing and it even had an old fire engine in it. I loved the fountain in the middle of the square with the lions all around. It doesnt take much time to see this small area but you have time to walk around several blocks in this area and see the architecture of the area. They like pink and light purple in this area! The area is free to see and walk around.

It is a really nice place, where you can see the old truck, tools and fotos of the firefighters worked in the old times; but most of all the guide (firefighterwho guided us, was very kind, nice, and hospitable. Ill give him nine stars. Very pleasant place to visit.

Beautiful and very eye opening. To think of the bravery of the fire crews that manned that station for the one hundred years or so that it was in operation. Its mind boggling, really.

Well it was very nice but if youre going to show history you need to show all the history the pictures on the wall or the colonizers who were the Battalion Chiefs you will find no pictures of the firefighters who were the indigenous people who built that Firehouse all black so that was the only issue I had when standing looking at that its why dont they include the entire history

You cant come to Ponce without stopping here. Go on Sunday evenings and enjoy the municipal orchestra who has been playing there as far back as I can remember. Always a great time!

Always visit with people in the Plaza of Ponce enjoying the weather the music. And do not forget to get ice cream gelato across the Street Now named the King.In the past were called the Chinos because Chinese started the business with a very secret kept ingredients.Affordable ice cream prices. Love the Mangos and the Coconuts for me the best.El Parque the Bombas is a Fire House it has plenty of history. Across is also the Hotel Melia. Mayor renovations and beautiful set up.

This is a must see place! My husband and I came here and it was amazing. Short self tour but it’s beautiful. And it’s free! Gives you a glimpse on the tight knit community of Ponce 😊

There were 3 employees sitting around doing nothing. The whole charm is the outside of the building and one old car inside.

Not what we expected my wife was talking to me about these iconic lions and old fashioned car and when we went non of that was there. On the contrary I know Ponce has been going through some difficult times. I look forward to going back and hopefully seeing this place in a different view. Us Puerto Ricans are resilient and nothing keeps us down.

Super cute and quaint museum with great info about the history of the Ponce firefighters. Free entry and cheap parking lots within a 5-minute walking distance. Lots of other stuff to do in the area, dont just come for this. :)

Gives you A Look Into One Of The First Fire Fighter Trucks Of Puerto Rico Still Intact In Mint Condition Also Old Fire Equipment Axes Hoses Helmets Of Old Captains And Simple Breakdowns Of History. Beautiful Water Fountain On Both Sides As Well That You Can Walk And Enjoy The Breeze.

Really nice historical place to check out while in Ponce. We were given a short tour by Cristobal, and the rich history of the city was super insight. Definitely check it out if you travel through the city of Ponce. It only takes 10-15 minutes.

Beautiful little place in Ponce. It’s not that to visit place but if you are around, just stop by. Place has that small town charm and you can spend time.

The oldest fire station in PuertoRico and 2nd in the Caribbean is a nice stop in the main plaza. With its special colors and old equipment as decoration, it is a treat for fans of firefighters.

This is a wonderful little place to visit in Puerto Rico and a MUST see if youre in Ponce. Its located right in the central Plaza surrounded by great little restaurants and shops. The Parque de Bombas is a tribute to the original firefighters in Ponce. There are photographs of the units from the 1890s and early 1900s, memorabilia like uniforms, trumpets and bells that used to alert the townspeople that there was a fire and even a old firetruck that supposedly still runs. The museum is free, and the volunteers that care for the space are super friendly and have a wealth of information to share. They will even help guide you to fun things to do in the area around the plaza. We had a wonderful little experience there.

An amazing landmark & museum in the middle of a historic town. A bunch of nice stores near it, including my fav ice cream place on the island.

Worth a visit even if you don’t go into the museum, it’s a spectacle! The ice cream across the street is famous for its local flavors. Parcha: passion fruit, china: orange, guyaba: guava, guanábana: sour sop. Ok sour sop doesn’t sound good, but trust me it’s a lovely round, soft, a little tart flavor.

Beautiful plaza in Ponce. Go grab an ice cream at the shop around the plaza in the evening and walk around. Grab a seat and soak it all in.

Really nice area. Covid was being dealt with by sprayers/sanitizers both in and outside. Local police nearby were pleasant. Food truck in the vicinity was goos. The building itself just a super cool sight.

A landmark in the town of Ponce featured in many publications and videos. This was the first fire 🚒 station built on the island (1882). This is a building that stores many historical momentos that can be seen with a short visit. The perfect spot for a photograph with the building as the background.

Beautiful, unusual & historical.The red was unmistakable.Worth the stop for a picture :)I believe there is an entry fee but not necessary as its open and you can just take a picture from the entrance 😉

Great insight on Ponce and Puerto Ricos history. The people at the museum were so kind and it was a great honor to see. The building and displays are very well-preserved.

Nice small historic place to visit aside from the Old San Juan. Long drive but definitely worth it. Suggest to stay overnight if you want to visit more place in Ponce. The historic fire house is really cool.

Nice place to view the history of the old fire station. They also have an antique fire truck. There are many beautiful things to see around the plaza where El Parque de Bombas is located.

Beautiful and a lot of history! The lady that let us in answered all my questions, she was very knowledgeable. 2 beautiful fountains ⛲ on both sides of this firehouse.

Not much to see museum wise, but a really interesting building. Also within walking distance of a lot of historic buildings worth seeing. Worth your time if in Ponce.

Parque de Bombas is a really cool spot to see when visiting the Ponce area. Its the oldest firestation still standing in PR. Beside it are two parks each with its corresponding fountain. Theres a catherdral which seemed to be under reconstruction, so we were unable to enter but the there are also plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. Plenty of places to eat, to stop for drinks, live music, theres an art gallery & souvenir shops. Stop by and take in the culture, people watch and enjoy the time being surrounded by the beauty of Ponce.

Very interest historic site, was the first ever fire station in Puerto Rico on 1882. Unfortunately for the COVIC-19 and the recents earthquakes the affect the town of Ponce the facility are just visit out side to take pictures, and cant enter to the micro museum on inside on the second floor. I will include pictures taken on early periods in which you can see part of the museum.

This place youre going to want to visit, beside being one of the most touristic places in the island, it offers so much information on history and its surrounded by so many historical buildings, sites, stores, vendors, hotels e.t.c. Its most definitely a must see. ❤

Very friendly staff and was helpful to provide information. We did not book a tour group so it was nice to get the bonus of the background history of the station.

Such a great place to spend time with the family and see some local art and pick up some cool souvenirs for the family back home. If you’re here definitely check out kings ice cream. BEST ICE CREAM ON THE ISLAND

This is a cute Museum located in the town of Ponce. It has a wealth of history. You can see it from a distance because of its red color.

The structure was built in 1882 and was the citys central fire station until 1990. Due to its distinctive appearance and central location, it became an icon of Ponce. Painted in the black and white color scheme that appears on the city flag. It is now a museum and listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Interesting museum displaying artifacts from old firehouse, including fire engine, pump, helmets, tools, and photos. Also contains numerous lions, the symbol of Ponce. The staff are friendly and will readily answer questions. The cost is free, but someone from the group must sign the visitors log book.
