Forested zoo park featuring about 143 species of birds, plus some reptiles & butterflies.
Parque das Aves in Horizonte
Description
Excellent place. Note that the nicer and colorful birds are towards the end so allocate more time there also nice places to eat in the park.
MoreWonderful park amazing birds and wildlife.. lovely helpful staffNot great experience though ..too many people sticking camera in your faceThe sounds of the forest are amazing but whats the point letting hundreds people in at same time talking at top of their voices when the whole point is to enjoy the tranquilityBasically its all commercialised so spoilt..
MoreLOVED our time here!! Would 100% recommend
Fantastic park with some unusual birds and not only. Very well thought out.Great for its educational value also and the work they do to save endangered species and learn more about all creatures.Very nice helpful staff. I still feel bad for staying a little later than their usual closing time (not that any of them said anything!)- just got forgotten in there enjoying it so much. There is a nice shop, a terrace serving drinks and probably more. It has wifi so you can stay connected.A must!
MoreVery well organized and clean place. All animals seem well taken care of. The food is good and the tour can take virtually as long as you want, once inside. The areas where you can stay next to the birds, especially the Araras, are incredible to behold. A must go during your visit in Foz do Iguaçu.I recommend going on the same day of the Cataratas tour, due to their close proximity. Parque das Aves já right outside the Visitor Center for the Cataratas. Parking space is scarce and expensive (35 reaisin this place. Ubers and taxis are a way to go, but due to the distance of the park from the city, it can also get pretty expensive. Renting a car would be my choice. And take lots of water, its very hot and humid in parque das aves.
MoreBirds and nature, you can learn a lot from different species there I can recommend to go first here and then to the water falls at the Brazilian side because it will be easier for u, you can go by bus from the downtown of iguazu if ur staying at the Argentinian side but I also saw that you can take a bus from Foz the iguazu too but not sure how it works
MoreAwesome bird sanctuary, I really enjoyed my visit. The park is well designed and I appreciated the signs that explain the work they are doing to rescue trafficked birds and how they constructed the park in a sustainable way.
MoreMore of a specialized zoo than rehab from what I gathered in my visit. Great views of the birds, good signage (multilingual), and nice landscaping.
MoreRight across the street from the Iguasu park entrance is this bird park. Founded by a man, continued by his daughter, nearly all the birds are rescues from illegal trafficking or injuries. The butterfly room was sparse and small, but the colorful and wide varieties of birds were very interesting. Definitely worth a visit.
MoreVery interesting and well run attraction close to the Brazil airport. Friendly staff and lovely exhibits.
MoreVery nice place when you love the birds you must visit the place ... specialy families with childern 😉This is one of the best project for saving endagered birds species what i ever seen.
MoreReally great experience, you can enter in the cage together with the birds and have a close experience with them.
MoreThis beautiful bird park is really first class. The variety was amazing. I loved how you enter the aviaries. The macaws and the toucans were my favorites. I must see.
MoreOne of the best parks I have ever visited. Natural habitat is beautifully preserved. You feel like you are walking through a jungle.
MoreFor a curated bird park, its quite good. Lots of birds and flowers to see, and an occasional lizard. (Finally got to see birds up close I had seen only from a distance in the Pantanal.).Full dining (quite good food, tooat the entry and exit, as well as some snack shops along the way. Of course, a souvenir shop as well. Most birds are in large aviary cages you walk through, but the cages are big enough you feel out of doors. As one would expect, the macawd, parrots, and toucans were at the end. A highlight!Lots of signage. In fact too much signage. Most preached ecology in 5 word snipits. Would have been better with fewer billboards.
MoreAmazing place to spend 3 hours with nature
A lovely bird sanctuary that includes English, Spanish & Portuguese info about each species and preservation plans. There is a path for customers to follow, the path has many enclosures for birds and butterflies. There is a restaurant, tiki bar & gift shop onsite. There is a bus stop and a taxi stand outside the park.
MoreAmazing place for a family visit. Very clean and comfortable. Dont need to carry water, there are plenty of drinkable water sources along the path. The visit could take more than 2hs if you stop to enjoy the birds. Also alligators and snakes can be seen (snakes are hidden if not in summer or a very warm weather)
MoreWhat a beautiful place to visit and what a remarkable work their people are doing to preserve the Atlantic coast’s rainforest flora & fauna! The visitors’ path from entrance to exit is one-way and easy to follow and guides one from one space to the next (open-air or cagedin a hassle-free manner. There is a restaurant and to enjoy snacks or refreshments closer to the end of the trail, amidst the beautiful area. It is a place DEFINITELY WORTH your time to visit for its massive educational value and its closeness to so many species! Being there reinforces your links with nature and strengthens our appreciation of biodiversity and the need to preserve it! Do not miss!
MoreThis was a really pleasant surprise. Very pleased we went here, seems like a lot of the funding is well used in conservation. Information in Spanish, Portuguese and English which is fantastic, staff very helpful and the whole place appeared very well run, clean and full of interesting birds. Really recommend a visit if youre on the fence.
MoreVery clean and well looked after. Lots of wildlife within the park that wasnt even in the enclosures.
MoreBeautiful bird park with a lot of birds that have been rescued from illegal smuggling. Here you can find flamingos, owls, amazons of all kinds, macaws and even two pairs of the rare Hyacient macaws.A trail leads through the park that you can only follow into one direction. There are also a lot of rare plants and butterflies. The best thing is that you are inside the cages and some of the birds come very close to you. However, it was so packed with huge crowds of noisy visitors that you get the feel of a rollercoaster park rather than a nature refuge for unfortunate birds.Maybe during the week it is more peaceful. Without the masses it is a beautiful oasis.
MoreRelaxing and wel ppreserved park with lots of the atlantic rain forest species of birds
MoreA must go place! They have rare birds, lots of beautiful ones, and an amazing section with blue Araras that are flying near the guests! Im not even that much into birds, and I loved it! The gardens are gorgeous too.
MoreWonderful place to visit. Unique opportunity to experience a close interaction with endangered bird species rescued from the illegal traffic and living in a semi-freedom. You have the opportunity to feed the araras with a minor payment. Highly recommended.
MoreA must visit if you are in Foz.. very well maintained and a pleasant visit
Amazing place 😍You can feed the parrots for 15 reales : definitely worth it.
really cool place, the birds are in really big cages with trees (not like most zoos with birds). the idea of saving those birds is also one the best thing there.
MorePerfect place to visit after going to the falls. It takes about an hour to go through the park, perhaps 1.5 hr - 2hrs if you have little ones. There are a good variety of birds to see and some really stunning areas were you can really appreciate how beautiful the birds are fairly upclose.
MoreThe park is huge and well organized. A variety of birds in the park. Lots of trees and plants. The staffs were friendly. It is just next to Iguazu fall ( Brazilentrance.
MoreBeautiful place, visit it you wont regret! You may spend more time here than Brazil side Waterfalls.
MoreIguazu Falls is a city in the Brazilian state of Paraná. It’s a gateway to both Paraguay and Argentina. One of the worlds largest waterfalls. The falls are magnificent, awesome and well worth visiting. Also, they have Birds Park. It’s a Institution conservation of the beautiful and exuberant birds of the Atlantic Rainforest. it’s the forest of Brazilian Birds, Beauty in ever breath, evolution and discovery, unique and abundant.
MoreIts great place to spend time with your loved ones. Pretty much entertaining and well structured. Im sure that your kids would love it! Toilet, coffee shop, restaurant etc. all necessary things are also available and easy to access.
MoreReally good maintained park with different birds, mostly parrots but very beautiful ones. We were expecting more and different kinds of birds but maybe they were hiding because it was raining that day. It costa 70 reais for adult foreigners which is a fair price for the size of tge park and the amount of species we saw.
MoreThere were no toucans!I loved everything about this place! It was am incredible place full of magic. Everything was well-explained, beautifully organized. However, i went specifically to see toucans bur didnt get to see any! When I finished the trail and asked where they were, i was told theyre all at the vet. I wish they would have told me that before! I went all the way and paid the money for the toucans!I was so disappointed and Im still quote angry!
MoreSo beautiful! You can spend a lot of time here and really see a lot of beautiful animals!
MoreProsIt was my first visit to Parque das Aves(Birds park). Its not huge but i could see various kinds of birds Ive never seen in any other places.Perfect place to visit with children.Must visit place :)ConsNothing.
MoreThis place has a wide variety of birds. Most of the birds are unique. The place is well labeled in English and Portuguese. The staff is quite friendly. The park is built in such a way that it looks natural. Trees and nature have been well preserved. Its much better than traditional zoos. The birds are given enough space to fly around freely.Definitely a must visit when in Foz do Igazu.
MoreThis place is amazing, what theyre doing to protect these birds is amazing too! I highly recommend checking it out!Its really cool how you can go into the areas with the birds. The birds are very curious about you too.A lot of signage, stating a lot of facts about trafficking birds. The most notable is: 9 out 10 birds do not survive being trafficked.
MoreA park where the birds are not in small cages. Some of them can be seen walking around. Theres also a butterfly section.
MoreI really enjoyed my visit there. It is the second highlight of Iguazu after the waterfalls. The birds are really close to the visitors. It was slightly raining when I visited but this was no problem.
MoreA lot of different kinds of birds (some of which you can get really close to), a butterfly centre, some reptiles and the Atlantic forest biome. They also have an Australian cassowary.Entry for adults is R$70 (around $13 USD), children, seniors and students pay half, students need to present proof that theyre students.(Attention: As of now the entrance to the park is on the wrong place in Google Maps, Id suggest selecting the parks parking lot as its closer to the entrance.)
MoreThis place started in 1994 and have evolved into a truly magical place, as you walk through the rainforest youll discover many exotic bird species, a few reptiles, and a butterfly garden. The work they are doing to protect these rare species is truly amazing and extremely important. The parrots are really wonderful. There are 2 restaurants, one located half way and another one away the exit of the park.Large lockers are available at the entrance and cost just $5reais, we managed to easily put 65l bags in one locker.
MoreNo words to discribe it really, just wow - Loved it. I spent approx 3.5hours in the park. We also had lunch and snacks there, took our time because in the evening we had to fly from Iguazú to Buenos Aires.
MoreAbsolutely beautiful experience that we enjoyed almost as much as waterfalls! We loved it being adults but Im sure children will be fascinated with all the tropical bird species present in the park. It takes about 1.5~2hrs to casually walk through the premises. They showcase some of their conservative works and generally give an image of a park who respects the environment. There are plenty of staffs who remind the visitors of the rules. Birds have rather large cages, except one with ostrich (???which was tiny, however there may be reasons behind it we are not aware of. There are also small butterfly and reptile spaces inside the park.
MoreI absolutely loved this place. This place is so much fun. I came with my sister, nephew, and daughter. We all enjoyed it. I would recommend this place to anyone. The scenery was beautiful and all the animals were fun to see. I especially had so much fun in the parrot exhibit. We all kept looking around for the parrots flying above our head. The animals are not in captivity like a zoo which made it different. It was fun to see all the different types of birds and see everyone have fun. I got many great pictures from this place. I recommend coming here sometime.
MoreI was initially skeptical about this place. There is a lot of push and advertising all over the place and our driver insisted for us to visit this first, before the water falls. But...we had a lot of fun and it was very interesting for our 7 years old. The work they do in the park is very important and it was great to be able to support it. Beautiful animals very close. Amazing experience.
MoreNice park. Well maintained and excellent to do with kids. The images you see of the Toucans up close it not with the regular ticket... Youll only see a few from a distance that way. We were a bit disappointed about that, nevertheless recommended. The tickets for backstage are too expensive in my opinion.
MoreWell preserved place. Lots of bird variety and people looking after the place. Amazing pictures can be taken here. Id suggest you to bring your child too as they will be amazed with the birds and how close you can actually get from them. For sure Id recommend anyone to visit it.
MoreAbsolutely breathtaking place. Fun for both adults and children alike. It is surprising how close one can get to the birds and how nonchalant they are with all of the human activity surrounding them. The organization should also be recognized for their tremendous conservation efforts in saving precious flora and fauna from the Atlantic Rainforest which is on its last legs. Bravo all around!
