Visitors can see iguanas roaming in this historic park with sculptures & an octagonal pavilion.
This place is also known as the Park of the Iguanas, and it didnt disappoint. There must be 30-plus iguanas in the park! Not just at the turtle pond, but also throughout the park. Its about a 13-minute walk from the end of the cable car (Aerovia IIRC).
Ended up here by accident and its the greatest accident Ive ever had. Beautiful green amazing statues huge large Church beautiful architecture grounds immaculately kept
Beautiful and well kept park. The animals look comfortable and well fed. The best time to go is around 11 to see the animal feeding take place.
Clean, organized and secured
Nice, the iguanas were very friendly and beautiful
Love it, kids got to look iguanas up close. We had a great time
THE VERY BEST POSSIBLE PLACE TO LEARN ABOUT THESE AMAZING CREATURES IN ITS CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE GALAPAGOS IGUANAS (both marine and land iguanas)
Nice tourist spot with lots of security and amazing iguanas
I loved this park, its so green full of iguanas, turtles and the Cathedral is right in front of it. A place to relax and to take pictures of lots of iguanas.
A nice and small park in front of a beautiful church what guarantees tons of great pictures.
Perfect place to visit with your colleagues, family or friends
Good place to watch iguanas close and in detail. They poop all over the place so I belive it could be cleaner.Nice park with good surroundings
Very surprising park in the heart of Guayaquil city. Many iguanas moves around you very freely. There is only benches where you can sit, no grass to lay down and rest.
Small but curious park... it is also called "Parque de las Iguanas" (Lizards Park), because there are a lot of iguanas wandering around freely all over the park... as if they were cats or dogs... and its a small walk to Malecón 2000.
OMG what an incredible place! Theres literally iguanas everywhere - and you can touch them! Probably not the best idea, but once seeing the locals, especially kids, doing that, my kids got very daring and patted some of the huge green iguanas. And collected their dead skin as a souvenir :Priceless. Perhaps the most memorable place in all the Ecuador.
Small but pleasant. Lots of iguanas. You can pet them :)
Theres no doubt God has blessed Guayaquil with an astonishing "flora y fauna" the trees, animals and kinds of birds are all over the place. Inside this beautiful park you can find the super friendly iguanas and pigeons to complement your visit. Park has a small pond with turtles and koi looking fish. The green of the trees and grass are a treat. Statues inside and out can be seen and a gorgeous gazebo. The cherry on top for this place is the amazing beautiful church in the background. On the outside of the park you can catch a ride of two plus hours on a double deck bus around the area. Parking nearby is a nightmare
Beautiful park that honors the liberator, Simón Bolívar. This park has a couple hundred iguanas, and a pond with turtles. Lovely to stroll around. A couple of blocks from the Malecón.
Beautiful little park with iguanas, turtles and fish! Don’t forget to look up as iguanas climb the surrounding trees as well 😀
It’s pretty small but so fun to see all the iguanas! More than I was expecting! They’re everywhere, even in the trees.
Cool place with iguana’s who are chilling in the sun😎
The park is nice, the iguanas are walking or resting around, there are quite a lot of pigeons as well. There are some benches were you can sit and relax. There is a small pond with fishes, tortoises and iguanas swimming peacefully. The park is located in a busy area, so there is a lot of noise
A small, but beautiful park, in the middle of the city, that has iguanas walking around freely. There is also a pond containing a kot of turtles and fish. They are very friendly and not shy. It was a real treat to see them. The park is very clean, has a lot of shade from the many large trees, and there are plenty of park benches to sit on. Though there is grass it is not for walking or sitting on. The park was a wonderful oasis in a busy city. Well worth a visit. There is also a gorgeous looking church across the street. It had just closed as we arrived. We plan to go back to see the inside.
Beautiful city park with gorgeous plants and trees. Most of all though — it has iguanas!! They are everywhere!Only one gate is open so once you’re inside you can walk around or sit on a bench to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. It’s free! There is a large statue in the center of the park and old trees along the edges near the fence. So many flowers and lovely plants! The iguanas are fascinating to watch.Br sure to visit the cathedral just across the street if you are interested in that type of thing. It’s very European with a pretty rose window.
It lives to the name/fame: nice little park with many green iguanas, and a magnificent cathedral on the background. Perfect for a short walk and rest.
Parque Seminario otherwise know and the Iguana Park is a city park with a large statue of Simon Bolivar, a large gazebo, many benches, beautiful trees and landscaping, a fountain with fish and turtles living in, and lots and lots and lots of iguanas. The iguanas have no fear of people as they are protected in the park. Due to lack of fear they come very close to people. There are vendors selling food to feed the iguanas, turtles and pigeons. The day I went the Guayaquil Municipal Guard Band was playing songs while set up in the gazebo. The band played very well and made the experience of seeing the park even better. The iguanas did not seem to care much about the music and continued about their business. In the coy pond/fountain there is an area of rocks which makes a small island in the pond where turtles, iguanas and pigeons all come together and sit on the rocks to sun themselves. We bought iguana food on our way in only to find the iguanas had already eaten their fill and there was uneaten iguana food everywhere. I would suggest not buying the food and just picking up a few uneaten pieces from the grass to try and feed the iguanas with. The only animals that were continuously eating were the pigeons. Definitely worth a visit if you are Im Guayaquil. This area is patrolled by the police and armed guards and is very safe for tourists.
Beautiful little park...probably more suitable for younger kids though.
I love this park. It has a bunch of iguanas just chilling around. They are super friendly and will let you pet them. I was told there used to be a lot more but they started to die because of the pandemic as no one was feeding them. People used to go pet them and feed them but now that the park is closed it’s become dangerous for them to live here. I hope someone doesn’t something to help them
This park is a must see if you ever find yourself in the city of Guayaquil... I love the animals.
The park looked cool and inviting, with iguanas visible everywhere. However, with COVID and the holiday, we couldnt get in to see upclose or walk around.
Nice tiny place for a few pics and to sit down with an ice cream. Somewhat chilly in the bustling city.
This is a great little historical park and offers a very unique experience for travellers - you can hand feed iguanas. And when I say iguanas, I mean iguanas, they are literally everywhere - dont forget to look up, theyre even in the trees. Surrounded by cathedrals, this is a great way to spend the morning. Buy some churros from the local vender, a bag of lettuce or bird feed from someone else, and run wild. Great photo opportunities and a must if its your first time in Guayaquil.
Id been told there were iguanas....wasnt expecting quite so many. Local vendors were selling lettuce for the iguanas, seed for the pigeons and fish/turtle/terrapin food too. We spent about an hour here and it was good, simple fun!
Amazing experience, so many iguanas it’s mindblowing. We went on a walking tour which was incredible!
Gem in the city - well kept, accessible park. Seems popular with locals and tourists alike. Iguanas roam freely in the park. Amazing experience! Also a pond replete with turtles and koi. Strong supporting cast of pigeons of all colours! Easy 2 blocks walk from the water front, Malecon 2000. Turn at the clock tower and head inland!!
This place great cuz you get to touch the real live Iguana with bear hand and they are kind of used to being held by ppl
A place to observe land iguanas at large. best to visit on Sundays. weekdays to be avoided for inadequate parking place and possible rush and crowds.
Wonderful place to go to explore the new one is in turtles on the pond it is definitely one of the spots to go to in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
What a cool little park. Hundreds of iguanas just sitting around waiting for you to feed them. Best of all this is a free attraction. Park is beautiful and safe and there are plenty of people selling items to feed to the iguanas. A lot of fun.
Park filled with Iguanas 🦎🦎🦎 so many of them....one of must visit places in Guayaquil. Just opposite to the park is a restaurant where you can try Ecuadorian 🍴🍕🍔 after you have finished gazing and clicking these amazing lizards....
Must -place to visit in Guayakuil, EquadorUnique park, with amazing animals
I heard the name of the park but didnt expect to see so many iguanas. I find it nice that park serve also as rescue centre for turtles. Look carefully at the pond how you can see varied turtles, some look little scary. Great place, for sure it would one of the most memorable places in Guayaquil for me.
If you can bring some bananas with you. The iguanas love them
This park will surely surprise any tourist. Located in the heart of the city, Parque Seminario offers a treat for visitors with numerous iguana freely moving around. Certainly not the place where youll expect wild animals just moving around.
This was a very calm relaxing park. Unipark hotel is right next door, the Guyaquil Metropolitan Cathedral is also opposite the park. There are various city tour buses outside the park as well as vendors selling rosaries, hats and snacks. You can find various restaurants in proximity such as UniCafe and La Pata Gorda. The world orchid conference held its banquet night here and it was delightful. Our hotel was next door so we just had to walk across. I would walk across and have dinner here at times in the evening. It is safe and has guards. There are lots of iguanas and pigeons here. The iguanas are friendly you can touch them. There are vendors selling cabbage so you can feed them along with the pigeons. Seminario Park also has a nice gazebo. It is a great place to visit and good for families. A must see if you are in Guyaquil!
The famous iguana park in Guayaquil! Proper name, since its loaded with iguanas. You can even touch some of them as theyre quite calm. Good to take pictures. Beautiful church on the next block. Free entry to the park!
Nice break from the sun. A cool close interaction with Iguanas and a great view of the minucpal cathedral
Best place to see the iguanas, you may be the lucky one to touch one of them, turtles, fishes and dove are all over the park. Its close to the malecon2000 so make sure you do both at same day.
Great park with a small pond full of fish that you can feed. You can see the iguanas everywhere. There are a lot pigeons too!
Unique place! Lots of iguanas roaming free. You can also see turtles and a small pond with koi fish.
