Angola, Lobito
Massive park with tourist lodgings that has reintroduced wildlife such as elephants & giraffes.
A tragedy of a national park.. very few animals, and about 100,000 humans living inside the protected area…during covid pandemic, the 60+ giraffe population was decimated to 0.. they’ve had to import 3 new giraffes and restart the population.Frankly this place needs 2 days of safari to see anything, and the high human presence around the park meaning poaching will probably keep the animal populations very low (unlike the hubs of life visible in south Kenya and Tanzania)There are far more fertile and isolated parts of Angolan Wilderness that need protecting. This was a great idea during colonial times, when the population of Luanda was sub-1million. It’s now difficult to fathom how long this can continue to be called a “National Park” with any credibility

We were attending the fishing tournament and it was a good experience. The access can only be done by 4WD
Not too many animals, but we did see a family of elephants and some giraffes — still worth the visit if youre in Luanda!
Wonderful place to see many animals, the service is good and staff helpful. To stay overnight there are comfortable huts
Its the best place to visit during holidays
Good
Beautiful park
It has a wonderful view. I once again had the opportunity to enjoy one of the largest rivers in Africa (Kwanza River). That Wonderful breeze was a unique experience. Anyone will love that wonderful view.
Nice
Very nice and good service, friendly and helpful staff.
Very poor. A few giraffes and elefants. Not really a safari
Good park but no predators. Game drive is rough
Its amazing place to be
We saw elephans and giraffes.
Giraffe, wild cow, deer seen. No elephant, Zebra. Tour finished in 1 hour. Bad truck for travel.
Worth the visit - Gazelles/ Giraffes / Zebras / monkeys, other animals & elephants if you are lucky..Time: For good possibility of viewing more animals need to arrive at park location quite early - say 7-8 am. If summer time animals seem to hide more middle of day to avoid heat.Location: is around 2 hrs from Talatona (including around 45mins of 30-40 kms in a bumpy road from main park entrance until the safari camp)Fees: are quite good - park entrance fee per person - 1K Kwanzas per person under 17 yrs old & 2.5K Kwanzas over... Another fee is 4K Kwanzas per person if you are taking the parks safari car. (Check pics of fees attached)Practicalities: Parks SAFARI Car is uncomfortable with some metal part on the seat. With the bumpy ride - might be good if you can have some padded pillow/towel to sit on. The seats at the side of the safari car are fun but take care of getting scratched by trees & plants during the ride..ENJOY....
Gorgeous and very lush!!!
Around 75 kms from Luanda trough cost road lays Angola best know Wildlife Park Quiçama. They do have a lodge in the park and is better to make reservations in advance mostly for weekends spend outs. Not a luxury lodge but you get the basic to have a good stay. They do have a safari service and it may be difficult to view animals sometimes. A good hideout for the busy Luanda´s life. Very good views from the lodge to the surrounded area.
Loved all the baobab trees in the area
National park in Angola lovely
Fun for the whole family...
Beautiful views of the river meeting the ocean
Dificulte to see the animals and have waiting a lot for the vehicle to be repaired :(
Great intro to Safari but can be really hot and dusty take a bandana against trail dust
The park needs better driving roads and the management needs to fix the park trucks. The truck broke down while we were around the animals. They also need more workers driving to make sure people dont break down on the road to the safari also so no one wont get lost. Other than that it was good to see a different side of Angola.
On the bright side:Very interesting place, huge area, full of baobab trees and opportunity to meet "wild" animals (actually living within area surrounded with fence). On the dark side: excursion though the park takes place in the very noisy trucks, spitting lots of fumes, and chasing the animals, near to driving into them. Be aware that drivers drive like crazy, and there is a real danger of being hurt by the trees brunches, possibly cutting your face. Be careful and protect your face, especially if you are sitting on the side seats.
Was good
Show de bola. Praia super top.
Just for the Landscape because animals have just a few..... Need better conditions restaurant have nothing for breakfast, safary transport very bad.
very beautiful and nice natural place to see wild animals
Serious investment is needed for client satisfaction.
No plastic in the sea. Beautiful vistas. Good road to get there but 4x4 on the beach. Braai on the beach but leave only foot prints
Enjoyed the art and beautiful paintings
Last animals in Angola
You should join the safari tour if you only join the regular truck from the park, you will not see the animals.
Direct contact with the nature
Big park we u to fish in that area. Great view from the ocean it covet big area
If you arrive very early, than you can see the animals very close to the car
Nice natural place to see wild animals
Very beautiful and natural place to visit in angola few hour journey from luanda
Need more game
Decent National Park near to Luanda
No words... Just incredible
Definitely visit this place once you are in Luanda. We can see Wild animals in their own territory. Best season is Monsoon.
Very interesting. It is not far from the city and it is worthy to visit BUT please come early in the morning (from 6:30 to 8:30is the optimum to see all the animals. I started after 9:00 AM and I could see almost everything except the elephants. Even while driving to the reception, you start seeing animals crossing the road... Very Nice!Be prepared to pay (as a tourist2500 Kz at the main gate and 4000 for the safari itself in the parks rangers trucks. You could also have breakfast first or afterwards in the restaurant or Lunch... They also get accomodations to sleep over there (200 $ per night). Its a pitty, the authorities does not communicate too much around this precious natural site.
So disappointed ... Didnt see that much ...
The best safari ever.We arrived early (06:30at the lodge and experienced an amazing view of Kwanza river and the surrounding landscape. Seeing all the animals in their natural environment was a very nice experience. Quicama has the potential to be a world class national animal park with a little more investement.
must visit Safari when you are in Luanda
It is really a wonderful place
