Santa Cruz Province, Argentina, Puerto Natales
Vast protected area of glaciers, ice fields, peaks & Andean-Patagonian forest.
One of the most amazing places on earth
Great walking trails all the way down to the glacier.
Is amazing! exciting and incredible experience
The jewel of the parc is clearly the Perito Moreno, but here there are also a lot of wild animals that can be sighted, such as foxes and condors (And other birds I cannot name)
It was a wonderful experience to listen to the ice crackles in a completely silent environment.
Spectacular
Lovely. An amazing view. Really high and huge. Summer is the best time to visit the Nationalpark Los Glaciares, and there is a coffee shop you can even have lunch. One of the most beautiful things Ive ever seen. The lakes color is wonderful, looks like a filter. Cold. Grab a coat. And take water.
Amazing place. Highly recommended
This park is as spectacular and magnificent as anything you’ll see anywhere in the world. The glacier is truly a once in a lifetime spectacle to behold and Fitz Roy is…Fitz Roy!! Every square inch of this place is just fabulous!!!!@nothin_but_views
Beautiful place 🤩
Nice 👍 place to tour
The park covers an area of 726,927 ha (7,269.27 km2; 2,806.68 sq mi), making it the largest national park in the country. Established on 11 May 1937,[1] it hosts a representative sample of Magellanic subpolar forest and west Patagonian steppe biodiversity in good state of conservation. In 1981, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.[2][3]The parks name refers to the giant ice cap in the Andes, the largest outside of Antarctica, Greenland and Iceland, feeding 47 large glaciers, of which 13 flow towards the Pacific Ocean. In other parts of the world, glaciers start at a height of at least 2,500 m (8,200 ft) above mean sea level, but due to the size of the ice cap, these glaciers begin at only 1,500 m (4,900 ft), sliding down to 200 m (660 ft). Los Glaciares borders Torres del Paine National Park to the south in Chilean territory.[2]
The park is located in the southwest of the Province of Santa Cruz and is home to several glaciers, from Perito Moreno to the glaciers north of El Chaltén. There is a ticket charge only for the Perito Moreno Glacier (AR $ 500 for one day). Elsewhere access is free, and there are also several points of interest, especially in the El Chaltén region, such as trails, waterfalls, glaciers and beautiful lakes!
Favorite one
Pretty much the bottom of the world...
No need for words, lifetime memories
Took a one-day tour. unforgettable memory to walk on the glaciers.
There are no words to describe the expensive of standing in front of the glacier. If you are lucky you will get a sunny day and the ice will get its deep blue and purple colour. Breathtaking seeing huge pieces falling from the from wall of the glacier
Beautiful national park with amazing winding trails that go throughout and bring you very close to the glacier (about 50m). Entrance fee is about 13 USD per person, but definitely worth it !One quick tip: dont rely on the distance and/or difficulty estimates for the trails. They take at least half the time advertised (if not lessand arent nearly as hard as presented (challenging just meant that there were many steps on the trail). All in all, a fantastic experience!
Don’t overpay for the expensive tours — just take a bus, pay the park entrance fee and see the glacier on your own (the hotels where you’ll be staying might be trying to sell these tours to you). It’s better to buy a bus ticket one day in advance to avoid queueing as there might be crowds at the station, especially during high season. While at the park, you can also buy a boat trip to see the glacier at the close proximity. But it’s not necessary, the good views are accessible from the walking trails.
Amazing everywhere. We took a tour with navigation plus “pasarelas”, it was wonderful to view the glaciar from so closed and had 2 hours to walk on the different paths of the gangways.
Bellisimo
An absolute marvel you must see in person to get the full effect. This is a living beast, constantly making sounds and moving.
Must see!
Los Glaciares Ulusal Parkı, Arjantinin Patagonya bölgesinde Santa Cruz Eyaletinde bulunan ulusal parktır. 726.927 hektar bir alanı kaplamaktadır. Arjantinin ikinci büyük ulusal parkıdır. VikipediLos Glaciares National Park was created to preserve an extensive area of continental ice and glaciers, of the southern Andean-Patagonian forest, and samples of the Patagonian steppe. In other regions of the world, glaciers are, at least, at an altitude of 2,500 meters above sea level, but due to their location, the prevailing winds of the Pacific and especially the Cordillera de los Andes are located at 1,500 meters, sliding to 200 meters. msnm. This protected area was created as such in 1937. In 1971, through Law No. 19.292, the current limits and the zoning of the National Park and National Reserve were established. It extends over an area of 724,000 hectares (7,240 km²located in the southwest of the Province of Santa Cruz. Its western limits always follow the Argentine-Chilean international dividing line between parallels 49º 15 and 50º 50 South (from Cerro Fitz Roy to Cerro Stokescovering part of the Continental Ice and almost all glaciers which of them descend towards the eastern side. The Park belongs to the eco-regions of Patagonian forest and steppe and High Andes.
Absolutely incredible views of the Murano glacier. A most phenomenal piece of earth awaits you here. Put it on your list & go!
excellent
Loved all hikes there. Perito Moreno, Lago Roca, and El Chalten all very amazing
What a great place to visit! The magic of the glaciers so close and the trekking on the ice a real treat!
A must. Period.
UN Postal Service issued a stamp on this World Heritage site on 18 Apr 1984
A rainbow appears over the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentinas Los Glaciares National Park near El Calafate on March 12 after an ice arch joining the glacier and the shore of Argentino Lake collapsed. The arch typically takes 2 - 4 years to form, as the glaciers ice slowly builds a dam that connects to the shore. Water then pushes through the dam, creating a steadily wider tunnel that eventually becomes a narrow arch, and collapses.
Spectacular falling mass of glaciers due melting ice wonder of narure must see
Monopoly and extortion.$30 for 1 day entrance is too expensive to see just 1% of the glacier. Don’t forget to account for bus fare, expedition guides, and rentals.
The park is unique because you are so close to the Glacier and a boat ride is not necessary. I have seen glaciers in Alaska but not as close as the Perito Moreno glacier.
I just love snow Thats why I love this place 😊😊😊😊😊
One of the natural wonders of the world
The Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentina is a 250 square kilometer ice formation that feeds into Largo Argentino and is a major tourist attraction in Patagonia. El Calafate, Argentina was again one of the huge markers for my trip. After setting off from Gobernador Gregores at first light, I got on my way for a pretty tough riding day on Ruta 40.I left El Calafate in the early morning for the 50-mile journey to the Perito Moreno Glacier. There are a couple of stops along the way with great views. You can ride right into the park and the entry fee is $25 USD to the Los Glaciares National Park.Only buses and disabled cars are allowed up into the top park area with the best views although I pretended to not know so I could get some photos, pleading ignorance is a great excuse for tourists in many situations in foreign lands!I also got the ferry out to the face of Perito Moreno Glacier (an additional $100 USDprices vary at different times of the year. The ride goes for about 45 minutes and is a great way to get a bunch of photos. Unfortunately, no icefalls from the face occurred during my trip. You can hear really loud claps from the glacier as it slowly moves into the lake.
Amazing views, great trails. You should visit this National Park with time and enjoy its diversity.
SURREAL... ONLY DOES IT IN PERSON JUSTIFY THE MAGNIFICENCE OF THE PLACE.
One of the most stunning places I visited during my trip across South America ! The glacier is so impressive that you will remember it for the rest of your life. Make sure you spend enough time there to enjoy it !
Good to go and get directions and information needed.
Amazing park and glaciar !!!So beautifull
The park is really clean, vistas are awesome everywhere.
Absolutely incredible! Its hard to describe this place using words. You need to be there and feel the experience. Everythings very beautiful and peaceful. Theres a restaurant that serves good food with an awesome view from the glacier!
Breathtaking scenery.
Be careful, drones are illegal in the park
Amazing. Must visit. Glaciers, waterfalls, huge mountains, and more.
