27 Avenida Sur 1509, San Salvador, El Salvador, Santa Ana
A complex of accessible volcanoes that includes trails, scenic views & a large crater lake.
Cerro verde my favorite place, been there so many times. This time we went it was raining and very foggy still a beautiful place to go with family. Id definitely recommend.
Very nice place to visit. There was a lot of cloud cover on the day I visited but it was still an interesting place.
This is a great experience. You need proper shoes the hike its approximately 4-5 hours.
Nice calming walk. Enjoying nature and fresh air.
Beautiful easy walk. So peaceful
The hike up the Santa Ana volcano was breathtaking and a workout to say the least. Challenging but doable, you will thank yourself for completing it once you make it to the top. The crater and beautiful turquoise center are a site to behold. One can also see Cerro Verde and Izalco from the top as well, in addition to Coatepeque Lake.
Breathtaking view. This is what makes El Salvador a Beautiful Country!!
Great view very fresh climate and good places to eat and spend ggod time
That was wonderful very nice place remembering my child hood.
We went all way up
Very pretty though it was foggy that day and a wonderful place to take the children
Nice volcanic area to go hiking and sight seeing. Dont be foole by the hot weather it can get chill over there
Outstanding view. Nice staff and great guides. The Santa Ana hike is great from here. That a shell for the wind at the top, good shoes and water. Snacks and drinks along the way too.
The best hike ever. It takes 4 hours but it worth if any minute. I recommend to stay at hotel inside the park and at the end of the day to see sunset.
A once in a lifetime opportunity. If you are in El Salvador and dont come here you are doing yourself a disservice. Absolutely breathtaking view and the hike was absolutely worth it with so much views to see with every step.
This place is amazing. Becose the wether is really cool and you can see of lake of coatepeque .If si want to eat some food. They have atol. Pasteles .pupusas and many different type of food
The Cerro Verde is the most Amazing place for adventure people or just a family trip. If you are in shape you have to climb the Santa Ana or Izalco volcano, guides begin from the cerro verde 9am aprox.
I liked the incredible view of Izalco volcano. However, I did not like the facilities because there is not too much to do and the infrastructure needs to be improved.
One of my fav places, if you are looking for cold places here in El Salvador, also looking for good coffee and good food Cerro Verde is your best option.
Awesome hike, spent about half hour at the top and the whole thing took exactly 4 hours. We ate breakfast and ordered papusas to go at the base
Nice views, fresh air starting from the turn you take to get here, if you rely on cellphone signal to get here let me tell, not all networks work here Digicel for example did not work at all, we saw a few places to stop and eat on the way up and while on the park there are also places to eat normal lunch at affordable prices, tipical food buy souvenirs and if you are looking for a fancier cozy place there is also an option inside the park, wide parking and very safe place, lots of tourists visit and at least if you go on friday is not that crowded, walks with guides have certain schedules but you can also ask them to take you if you are out of those schedules, they charge a fee of course.
Tour guides everywhere, parking is $3 I thinkMake sure to tip the guides as they are very friendly and knowledgeable.
The most amazing views in El Salvador! They pride themselves with high quality coffe at the Bistro cafe and the place has some amazing hiking spots with mind blowing sceneries
My kids loved the tour.... great place to visit
It was great time been able climed Izalco volcano in Santa Ana El Salvador.I recommend you to experience it, its a life time adventure.
Pretty cool. You can only hike with guides though. If you arrive any later than 12pm you will not be able to go on any hikes. I would recommend getting there at 930am because the best tour of the day leaves at 945. You do have to pay for parking, but its not much. Also, if youre using Google maps from San Salvador, double check your route because it took us a long way that took way longer than it shouldve.
Beautiful !!!! Take closed toe comfy shoes, water and a sweater it can get to about 50degrees Farenheit. The bosque tour is soo nice. The guide knows a lot. Of course it was in Spanish. The food was great and the gift shop id fairly priced :super cute . Playground is small but fun for children. Place is great for the whole family!! There is a hike to the volcanoes. Info on how to get more information is in the photos.
Nice volcano to visit easy short hike to crater. Just get there early parking slot is very small and at the end it become a single lane that makes it impossible to back up returr turn around there a few restaurants and decent amount of street vendors.
This was great, you can actually take a walk either to any of the volcanoes or only the main hill, you can actually picnic there they have some tables available for everyone, they have parking but the best recommendation will be to arrive early so you can take advantage of the view, parking space, and have time to decide which walk to take. Its a good idea to spend on a trip like this one, really cheap if you take your food and either you decide to go on a tour or by your own the place its easy to find. Some food on the road like classic sweet quesadilla which is a sweet bread we eat as dessert with coffee, some fruit, etc. I may come back any time just to walk and probably to have a pb&jelly sandwich. If you inquiry, there are little stores or kiosk with souvenirs, good prices and a lot to choose
The best experience I could haveI didnt make it to the top but it worth it
Visited on a cloudy day and there wasn’t any view. You basically pay to pull over in a parking lot and go to the coffee shop. Note: it can still be very cloudy even if it’s very sunny and blue sky around the lake. Not something I can recommend but then maybe it’s amazing in great weather. We paid 3 usd per person and 1 usd parking. Felt like a lot !!
Guides are so nice! The place is clean and safe. They have places with salvadorean food also. Amazing!!
This place was beautiful, Im sure it would have been even more breathtaking if it wasnt for the fog/clouds covering all the views. It was a bit of a drive to get up but once on top, there is a coffee shop with views of the volcanos and all the greenery. Would definitely put this on tour list of things to do when in El Salvador.
Beautiful, it feels like youre in the clouds, the view is like no other in the planet! Glad to have been there! So awesome, truly recommend it to anyone around the word, pretty and safe. El Salvador has really changed its ways!
This is a must see. Entrance fee is $1.50 per person plus $1 for parking. There is a nice coffee shop at the top with great views of the volcano.
I simply love this park. El Salvador is a hidden gem and I love what the people are doing for the country. Very educated guides throughout the park. Super safe hike! Once on top of the volcano the view is amazing. Make sure to get some ice cream ($2when you get up there. 2-3 vendors carry their small carts everyday to the top of volcano and sell ice cream. Stop listening to the nonsense. El Salvador is a safe place to travel too. I been there three times and I love it.
Just Beautiful even though I couldnt see the volcano because it was Misty. I as you can see. But I love it
Awesome place to be arround nature, what the birds and feel the cold weather.
an easy walk up to the summit, with great views of the surround valley, the lake and the other volcanos. Rewarding views of the Crater when at the top
Its a beautiful place to relax and experience a good weather.
Really awesome spot for a quick hike, Went on the "45 minute, volcano tour" and it was cool. More like 30 minutes of jungle ups and downs with a couple breaks in the trees with overlooks that you could see old volcanoes from, but overall very cool, well worth the trip to get up there. Not super hot in August, it was kinda hazy though. Must see if youre traveling anywhere outside San Salvador.
The volcano Santa Ana was the most amazing experience loved the hike! Amazingly beautiful. The bathrooms at the park were terrible tho, Very very dirty, they looked like they have never been cleaned, Its shameful.
To relax with family, but also Extreme hiking to El Volcan de Izalco, not for the fainted heard and weak legs. Breath taking views that seems like youre in another planetCant wait for the Old Hotel to get restored and spend some time there, "some time next year", someone said.Itll be great if they conditioned an area at the Edge for outdoor lovers to camp there.
You cant skip this place if you are in Salvador. Very nice walk trough the forest with a guide and a policeman. Tours are everyday starting at 10:40. You pay 6 dollars entrance fee to national parkand one dollar for the guide. If you go to the parking which is higher you have to pay also some dollars for parking, its per person, so for foreigner is 3 dollars. On the top of volcano views are amazing, hard to describe, you have to see it!
Its a beautiful place, nice weather and it has a great variety of food options you can eat between the restaurant or the locals, it is very affordable and despite it sometimes gets crowded, my family and I always feel comfortable eating and walking around. This is a perfect place to bring your family, hammocks, food and spend the whole day just chilling and having fun. Besides you can also walk to the Volcano with a tourist guide, the place is very safe and the workers were very friendly. The only thing I wasnt able to see was the hotel because they were constructing but Im looking forward to seeing it when I go back!
Excellent view, nice weather. You are able to hike up to the volcano from this point, ask at the front booths for more information.
You must visit it, one of the best places in central America, good for Hiking and having a relaxing time surrounded by nature.100% recommend
Another hiddden beauty in this Central American nation. Its composed of a series of volcanos all of which you can climb. As in much of the country there not many visitors so you can sometimes have the whole sight your a visiting for yourself and guide. On a day with good visibility you get breath taking views. Best times to visit is November - Jan. Because you will have great weather and amazing sunsets. You can rent a car or join one of the tours that depart from El tunco. Unfortunately the major drawback is there is not much hostel infrastructure or a backpacking culture. In Cerro verde You can camp and Coatepeque there is a really nice hotel, Airbnb options are also available in the lake
Not much to do but great views of Volcan de Izalco.
One of the biggest national park of the country, you can climb Izalco and Santa Ana volcanos
