Large, tree-filled park with paths, weekend art exhibitions & vendors selling food & crafts.
Parque El Ejido in Latacunga
Description
Privilege
Beautiful place. You wont be bored - especially in the morning.
Loved this market. So many very unique items from local vendors. Not super packed either.
MoreNice place to find many patrimonial trees
The park I like the most in Quito
Went there the past couple of days and it was not very peaceful. Lots of people throwing rocks, explosions, tear gas. If I knew it was an adventure park I would choose another place for a picnic.
MoreFun place for the whole family.
Its a good place to visit but be careful
Very structured park. Doesnt have a natural feeling at all, but its a place, at least, where there is some green and breathable-ish air.
MoreWhen the sun is out it is a great place to chill. Often has dancing and folklore shows as well as artist fair on weekends.
MoreAwersom park to spend time with family, friends and pet animals.
Everyone says this park is dangerous, but that could not feel farther from the truth.Over the course of a month my wife and I spent almost every day in this park, and aside from conversations with old men and little children, and other friendly locals, all the threatening people let us be :)
MoreIt is always beautiful but kind of dirty.Anyway, I found tables to receive my language online classes and that was great. Meanwhile I was attending virtually to my classes, others used the tables to eat something, to play cards or just to be thinking deeply maybe about the Netflix series squid game.
MoreWe enjoyed a lot together with my friend
A very nice park. One of many in Quito. A great place to ride a bike, take a walk, anything.
MoreUnsafe place full of thieves, drug addicts, drunks and its not patrolled by police. Be always careful.
Moretranquil, lots of great food, art to buy, activities for kids and outdoor exercise. peaceful and very large park with endless opportunities
MoreIt is so amazing garden I enjoyed it so much and it is kids areaPlus surrounded with some attractive statusI love it so much
MoreThe construction work for the Metro and the lack of police patrolling inside the park are making it a dangerous space if not familiar with the park.
MoreFun little city park. Good for a walk if you’re in the area, take a pic with the Quito sign. Not much else.
MoreInteresting shows all day long. A good place to go during the day, but try to avoid it at night because it is not that secure at night.
MoreThis is a good place for a walk and do some handicrafts shopping during the day. This is an scenic place to enjoy some green areas I the heart of the town; however it is also full of street food and some chaotic order to go around since subway stations are still under construction. One negative point is the high number of undocumented Venezuelan people that hang around this place, it should not be bad, but unfortunately pick pocketing and theft is common, so be careful with your belongings.
MoreConstruction in progress, and need cleaning.
Quite place to rest and to hang out with friends, couple or family. Its not a big park so trust me, if you go with your children its ok. If you go with ALL your family, it will be pretty disappointing.
MoreLarge park. Very popular on a Sunday with food stalls, pedal cart hire and plenty of kids play areas. Felt safe here..
MoreNice park to sit & relax
nice size park with a little covered "street" lined with vendors selling typical tourist stuff, there is a guy selling his artwork which is really good but I thought his prices were too high and I hate haggling. Park has had construction going on, I dont know when it will be finished. Not too much shade but overall a decent park.
MoreCool place to spend quality time with others. People often play chess and card games, besides, it has a huge green area.Loved it
MoreNice little green space in the middle of the city. You can buy crafts from the vendors and watch the people pass by. It is not worth making a special stop.
MoreVery nice park and I would give it 5 stars, but it has been under construction for over a year now. Lots to do like the artists market, street food, sports, bikes, playground equipment, and various other activities. Just need to be careful. Sometimes there are pick pockets.
MoreA very nice site. It could be better, but its still good. The most excellent bikes stores are around it.
MoreNice medium sized park with children playground, public toilet and several voleyball courts. During the day you can find many street vendors selling from coffee, food to phone stands. On northeren side they are selling artistic items many from northeren Ecuador. There are more sellers over weekend. Most close their stands by 5pm.
MoreNice park to enjoy during a sunny day with your loved ones.
Lots of food that might harm your tummy so make sure its a clean place if you buy food, the park is big and I really recommend jugo de coco and theres also a couple of souvenir stands
MoreEl Ejido is one of the many metropolitan parks in Quito. It is not so big, but it has plenty of trees and spaces to rest. During weekends there are plenty of activities going on such as theater, sports and music. Everyday there is a handcraft market. During nighttime the park is not very safe, and it is a little bit dirty - it is hard to find a spot without garbage in the grass.
MoreGreat park. Awesome Lotsa food and cultural artifacts. Lotsa clean walk or jog lanes. Library Clinic and Bathrooms available. In the middle of downtown. Hotels buses taxis banks supermarkets etc all facilities within walking dostance
MoreA nice clean park with big pine trees and green grass. A great place to come on the weekend as vendors set up their shops with paintings, silver, blankets, handmade jewellery and all sorts of knickknacks. There is some delicious food vendors who sell fruit and kebabs..
MoreThe park is great, on Sundays specially. It is filled with artisans selling paintings, necklaces, bracelets, t-shirts, handmade hats and sweaters among various other items. There is also some live music going on, food is sold all around the park and there is plenty of pace to do some family games or a picnic. For kids there is a massive playground with slides, swings and everything you can think of, plus various renting bikes and cars places for them to drive around the park long pathways.
MoreTraditional park that has been one of the main gathering places that every person visiting Ecuador has to see.It offers a wide variety of activities, and enough green spaces to even have a cozy picnic or a family outing, a park that has outdoor sport facilities, public toilettes and performance stages conveniently situated. There is ALWAYS something to see there, from many vendor stalls to the weekend artists that gather to sell and, or perform their art way of living
MoreA place for the family. But also therere a lot of people with different interests. So you need to be aware. Its near Casa de la Cultura. Its surrounded for pretty much every important public transportation line.
MoreI love it! Its been remodeled and still it holds a variety of the most giant and ancient trees of the city. Family-friendly and perfect for walks.
MoreIts a dangerous place, especially on weekends, you have to be aware because there are some thieves. It has playgrounds for children and you can enjoy some street artists.
More3/4 of the park was closed due to construction of the metro. Would recommend only if interested in arts and crafts stores, because thats all there is.
MoreDOV:08Jun2014 El Ejido Park of Quito, Ecuador is the second main tourist attraction of Quito (after the drive to mountains). This as got Quito gate at entry with big letters of Quito. This park is too big with good no of trees and greenery. There are many Jung food options too in the garden. Also its good to walk through the streets and you can enjoy good local music being played by the bands. Parque El Arbolito is too close and nearby which contains many man made structures on small garden. Its good to have an afternoon here if you are in Quito.Nearby Attraction:Parque El Arbolito
MoreBeautiful park. On Saturdays there is artwork for sale and this makes the environment of the park seem much nicer. If people are visiting I would recommend stopping by.
MoreThis is a great park in Quito. Plenty of green space and some good nearby food options. Easy access to trolleys for traveling to and from the park. We usually go here to buy gifts and crafts from locals on the north side of the park. There is a cheaper market about 5 minutes north from the park at the artisan market where you can find the same items.
MoreA nice park for a quiet break in the city center, always some artesan vendors around. Part of the park is currently closed off due to the construction of a metro station.
MoreVery nice and enjoyable park to walk around. Lots of security
I enjoyed visiting here for the culture. Lots of people out and about. Volleyball games were lively. Lots of street performers and some food stands. A touch sketchy depending on time of day, but police do patrol. Two main bus lines border the park, so it can make for an easy visit.
MoreGiant super park. Take a walk jog or bike ride among the huge trees and paths. There are artists everywhere and Simple food and entertainment. Great place to bring the kids.
MoreThe park has a re-fit (back in 2009 or there aboutwith lots of games for children, making it a favorite to take the kids to have some physical activity. Its been slowly declining ever since, because of a lack of maintenance. During the week-end many artists go and sell their paintings, so if youre looking for a piece of art to decorate, this couled be worth a visit.
