1707 Locust St, Kansas City, MO 64108, United States, Kansas City
Modern food hall on 3 levels offering a variety of casual & creative dining options, plus 2 bars.
Did have a rude bartender. She explained how rough her night had gone so it was understandable. My first time there, liked the atmosphere a whole bunch! I will go back.
What an awesome place to start your weekend! Grab a bite from one of like 5-6 food booths with delicious variety from Tacos to burgers to pizza to Mac to Korean BBQ. Two main bars serve pretty decent drinks and are never overwhelmed like plenty of places in town. Great location in the crossroads makes it a good first spot on first Fridays or a bar crawl any other weekend. Good for dates or bringing your whole friend group and the outdoor deck is useful in fair weather as well. Highly recommend
Great concept. The food and atmosphere are excellent. Its a great place to eat and drink before going to a concert at the T Mobile center. Women beware that the restrooms are co-ed. You will need plenty of toilet paper to wipe the urine off the toilet seat before you sit down or do like my wife did and hover..
Cool concept and great for groups, but the food isn’t very good. I tried the Korean bowl and the vegetables were inedible. My partner got a burger and truffle fries and was equally unimpressed.
I love Parlor and always recommend it to my guests, so I knew I had to inquire about having my rehearsal dinner there. Izzy was my main point of contact and she was incredibly responsive and helpful. They offer several different options for large groups at a great price. You can do catering through them or load gift cards for each of your guests to let them choose any of the food options available. We did gift cards and it worked out great! We had half of the patio reserved for our event, and looking back, I wish we would have reserved a spot inside because it was really hot. But I knew it would be since it was August, so that’s no fault to Parlor. One minor inconvenience was my mother-in-law brought flowers to Parlor earlier in the day and told them the name of our party. There was another rehearsal dinner that night, and the flowers were placed in their space downstairs. We were able to get the flowers back to our space after a few conversations. Overall we had a great experience and would host another event here.
The venue is interesting. It has a litny of walk up food choices with a full bar upstairs and downstairs. The balcony is open with plenty of seating. Lunch was quick if you go early. Its a fun meet and greet spot.
Its an ok place, I suppose.Dont really have anything bad to say.Been there twice now.Just think of it this way....All those kids who used to hang out in the food court at the mall, are now grown up and hanging out in the food court called The Parlor.
Not too many variety of food! But I tried the burgers, fries and were really tasty! Also had a couple of beers with my Boyfriend and watch the Chief game for a while! we had a great time !
Good atmosphere so many option for food! 🥘 🧊🍹 🥃
Really nice. We came here when we were visiting friends. Several choices for food and the atmosphere is cool. Everyone loved their food. Would be a great place to hang out and connect with friends over a couple of drinks.
Very modern feel. You get texted as soon as your food is ready. Nice bar. Great place for a date. Great KC spot!
A great place to go for drinks, food and a social experience!
Excellent late night and after hours location! Celebrated a friends birthday party. We had a reserved section but we were right in the middle of 5 different on location eatery options. Three levels, two staircases, outside patio, live music, great drinks, clean bathrooms, friendly staff and best of all AMAZE drinks. Reasonably priced and delicious-JMS
I wish I had taken a picture of the KC mac and cheese chicken waffle macaroni it was amazing. Love the setup of the parlor will definitely be going back next time Ill take a pic. It is cashless so make sure you have your card.
Delicious foods, strong drinks, great environment, decent prices for downtown. The environment is great for everything from a date night to a work Team getting out for a gathering.Plenty of different food options. I’ll be going back again for sure.
Went here for the first time.. WOW my new fave place! The food was delicious & the drinks were strong & good! Everyone is just relaxing having a good time.
Very comfortable environment food was great a good selection to chose from. Also the band !ND entertainment was great. Also I felt safe.
Cool spot to visit, but its so hot. No fans on the bottom floors, and not sure whats always happening with the air conditioning. Open mic was epic, and the foods always good, but dont go in the summer months unless your prepared to do some heavy sweating..
A little pricey for three small sliders but it was delicious nonetheless.
It seems like a really nice place to hang out. The busyness and noise on the weekend were not enjoyable but the food was. Ill go back and try it on a weekday.
Very nice staff and 6(+?small food-court-style restaurants. Music is so loud that you cant heat yourself think far less have a conversation, intelligent or otherwise. If you are older than 25: stay away
Sunday night visit for a birthday party. They have about five different restaurants although only one was available which sold enormous servings of tacos. Outdoor patio no smoking. Variety of music genres. Staff friendly and accommodating. High profile careers gather and mingle. Will return.
Very cool spot, cocktails are great (even the ones on draft). Love that you can order any of the restaurants from your phone - you still have to go pick up your food but it beats waiting in a line to order.
Good food. Good music. Good vibes. Love parlor honestly. Would like some more food options but it is a smaller venue. Would be cool if they grew big enough to take over that old Kc star building 👀
This is a cool place. I met up with some friends after an event and I liked the vibes of bar meets mall food court. There were lots of spaces to hang out both inside and outside. The drinks were good and the food I tried was really good. My biggest complaint was that their hours were unclear. The website, posted hours, and when they actually started closing were all different.
Great building. Location. Options. The seating is a bit limited, but its a great place to start a night night out w friends in town.Restroom are all-genders. I dig that.Deff coming back.
What a great spot to enjoy an afternoon looking over the city skyline and enjoy a frosty beverage! There are multiple food choices available to fill any taste preference. The music and tv options aren’t too bad to stop and watch some local sports either. Will not be my last visit
Love this place! Popped in here for late lunch with a friend and it was dynamite! I had 3 sliders from Slideshow. The beef is so flavorful! I had some OG chicken tenders from Mother Clucker also and they were good. Everyone is super friendly, the music and atmosphere is great. The cocktails I saw coming off the bar looked fantastic! Definitely recommend!
Parlor is a blast! Great for a group! Something to eat for everyone all ages! Fun atmosphere! Fun events and live music! Great space for events or parties. Amazing food! Awesome patio!
I’d been to Strang Hall in nearby Overland Park which offers a similar dining experience, but this was my first time to Parlor. The food was good and ready promptly given how busy it was. The server we had said she had only been there a couple of days but she seemed knowledgeable and she was attentive. Loved that they had our local Cinder Block Brewery’s rotating cider on tap because the cherry cider is absolutely fantastic. My only concern/“complaint” would be that, while I love the live music nights, it’s blasting as soon as you walk in the door, so it’s hard to even talk with the hostess situated up front, and when the crowd gets going where the band plays, the floor bounces beneath their feet as they jump. Not sure if this is expected but I’m concerned about the floor joists beneath lol.
Neat concept with different eateries in one location. Drinks were a little small for the price but good. Great views of kc
Enjoy the concept. First time visiting and had a great experience even though the bar tender up stairs was rude. We just came down stairs for a more welcoming service.
Awesome food choices. Comfortable and professional environment.
The Parlor Bar is a fun environment to get drinks with friends. Staff is very friendly and helpful. While vising we tried their Winter Daiquiri & Damaged Fruit cocktails. The Winter Daiquiri is part of their seasonal Winter menu. They are currently in the process of switching to their Spring menu. Im glad I was able to try a drink off their Winter menu before it was gone. If you get the chance to visit we highly recommend both drinks.
Picture a high-end food court. 🙂 You dont have to have your mind made up. Theres a craft pizza place, mac n cheese dishes, a vegan restaurant, and a bar. Both dishes I had were excellent and worth the money. Highly recommend!
Nice upbeat place with a variety of food options. We had a Detroit pizza and some hot chicken tenders. Food was good, better than typical bar food. Portions were huge for what I expected! It’s a younger crowd…. And quite loud. Lol, one of the wackiest song selections. Would like to see this place when it’s warmer and more places are open.
Cool concept, trendy space. Vendors’ menus all looked tasty, though I didn’t order well personally. The live music was good, plenty of seating. The parking lot is small though, and street parking can be so messy around this area. Worth a visit!
Do it!!! This is an adventure! Lots of food choices! Great atmosphere! Great place to gather. Lots of different seating options. I went to Taco Tank and had the nachos. Great surprise!
My review is solely based on service. I ordered from Providence Pizza. An hour had passed and still no notification that it was ready for pickup. So I call them and provide my order number and they say 2 minutes. I figured if I timed it just so, I could maximize my 30 minute lunch break. I arrive at the Parlor. Proceed to Providence, there is a guy at the counter, I presume a customer so I wait patiently. About 3 minutes pass, the guy turns around and moves out of the way. Seems that he and the 2 workers were just standing around conversing. There is a pizza just out on the counter as 2 flies are plotting their landing Im certain, and all I can think is that I hope that isnt my order just sitting out, unboxed and uncovered. I proceed to tell the guy my order number and name. He goes to a screen looks at the other guy who then joins him at said screen and they began to chat nervously. Guy #1 says, someone must have grabbed it, I will just make another, it will take just 15- 20 minutes. I am beyond livid!! The lack of customer service blew my mind. Hadnt tried it but had heard great things, but I wont be back! Such a cavalier attitude about the situation and respect for my time and money is a deal breaker! #hungryandouttatime*****Part 2*******I received a gift card in the mail and went back to experience Parlor. The concept is really cool. I tried almost all of the vendors except for Providence Pizza, as I was still feeling a way about my previous experience there. The chicken sandwich was on point! The fried peach cobbler dessert served with vanilla ice cream from the mac and cheese spot made my heart happy. The bowl from the salad spot was fresh and flavorful , drinks were tasty and the service at all of the different vendors was fast and friendly, a stark difference from my 1st experience. The crowd was mixed with folks just hanging out and some work meetings happening. I would return here for 👍
So many places to eat & drinks to try (incl one named after me just ask Edwin)…so little time!!!The Mac n cheese with chicken is one of my fav dishes!!! You can ask for no 🌶 peppers or put them on the side. They ARE hot!!The patio area is cool to sit in…when the heat isn’t blazing outside! There is still plenty of spaces out room inside to eat at downstairs or upstairs if you get overheated. Lots of comfy fluffy pillows & seating or pull up a chair to one of the bars.Either way, order your food, grab a buzzer, or give yourNumber & find your best spot to sit & wait until your food is ready. Even when they are busy, I haven’t waited over 10-15 mins for food. When you are spending time with a bestie or your crew, the time clicks by even faster!!Parlor is one of the best KC spots to go for eating, drinking, or partying in the basement. Now they have vendors & nights for you to come shop! The fruity drinks at the upstairs bar with a double shot are right on point!!! Enjoy!
It was my sisters birthday party and my family and I turn it out at open mic my aunt and cousin 2 stepped a whole show🤣great vibes, great participants at the mic, good food, strong wine we kicked it thank you for acknowledging my sister Natashia and making her bd so special❤
Now that was interesting and fun. I was unprepared to take it all in. They have six restaurants, two levels and two bars. They have multiple seating style options: tables, bar, homey "conversation pits", a second floor patio and a section that resembles "gymnasium seating".Be prepared to quickly scan for open tables, move quickly to seat yourself and then think about food. (In hindsight, if I was told it was kind of like an airport food court, I would have not have had about 2 minutes of information overload...because it was a lot to take in.)We ate at Providence Pizzeria and it was tasty.
Love a food hall and this one is so much fun. A lot of delicious vendors and an awesome, youthful and upbeat space to hangout. I love Ravenous for food. The tater tots had a hint of sweetness to them with the perfect crunch. The broccoli salad was unique and absoutely delicious with the crunchy quinoa and some tangy creamy sauce. A sugary, tart, flaky sour cherry pie covered in sugar crystals and the burger was great too. Staff there was so lit it made the entire experience that much cooler!
This place was a lot of fun, good DJs upstairs on the patio good live music on the main level!! We also enjoyed the food! Fun concept using a bunch of restaurants in one place! Recommend going.
I have mixed feelings about Parlor. I love the concept. I love the way its designed. I am mixed about the crowd it attracts. I also have not had one decent meal there, and every time I eat there its over-priced and the portions are disappointing. If I understand the concept, its start-up restaurants learning to manage a brick and mortar restaurant on a small scale. Nonetheless, I have never had even a decent experience here. The patio is great, Ill give them that. I also feel the cocktails are over-priced.
Parlor is always a fantastic experience! I will say the food Ive had is sort of hit and miss. I have had the avocado hummus with warm pita from one of the food vendors which I absolutely loved! While tonight I had the tofu dumplings from another vendor that was not that great. As far as drinks I really enjoyed the beers Ive had so no complaints there. The atmosphere is great and I think thats what brings me back! I love the art decor throughout the venue and the outdoor seating area which has thick plastic coverings for when its cooler out. The staff from bartender to greeter, to food vendor, and especially the waitstaff busting tables are always so friendly and nice which is a big plus! Parlor has a really diverse range of seating with a few board games and different events they host. Overall Ive had a very pleasant experience every time Ive come. I am just a bit more picky when it comes to choosing food is my only critique. Would recommend for those passing through or looking for a casual place to chat over drinks!
This is such a fun place in the heart of KCMO. I was visiting a girlfriend when we decided to come here for some girl time. We walked around to see what was on offer before deciding we wanted to try one or two things from a handful of stalls. We had kabobs on the bottom floor (forgot the name of the particular stalls, so bear with me as I explain. I remember food more than names 😉). The shrimp was very good but the beef was just okay.We sat and had drinks at the main floor bar while we ate our first dish. That bartender was really great. I didn’t see a drink on the menu that really called to me so I described to him what I tend to like and he made me a gin cocktail on the spot that was menu worthy. After, we went upstairs where we spent the rest of our time. We had hummus and empanadas at the Mediterranean Mexican place. Sliders next door and a kimchi pancake. Having just gotten back from Korea when I was at parlor, I have to say the kimchi pancake was pretty dang good and spot on with street food in Seoul. That being said, the flavor is not for everyone. But I enjoyed it. However, the slider with the blue cheese and onion jam stole the entire show for the day. It was my favorite thing we ate.We were there for quite awhile and left stuffed even though we shared everything. I had another unique gin cocktail our waitress had the main floor bartender make for me. Also delicious.Overall it’s a really fun place. Would be great for groups. Parking kind of sucks. But I guess that’s normal in cities. We got lucky and were able to find a spot in their lot to the right of the building. But it was tight.
I am so happy that Parlor exists. I believe its one of the only (if not THE only?food hall in Kansas City. There are two floors, I believe a third in the works, a deck and fun, colorful, modern decor.Parlor is fantastic for groups. No one has to agree on what you are all eating - you can go to any of the seven restaurants or two bars! You can go back and hang out at your table and theyll text you when your food is ready to be picked up (or if youre old school you can stand and wait near the restaurant).Providence Pizza is my favorite, with slices as big as my head, but Mother Clucker is a close second with their highly caloric and indulgent dessert shakes. Theyre wild. Those dont sound good? Dont worry - you can try sandwiches, Korean, Japanese, Scandinavian and more!
Love this place. Super poppin’🍾. Super hip. Lots of food choices🍣🌭🥗. I haven’t had them all but the ones I have had, I’d probably rate the food four stars. Nothing stand out. Pricy, of course. But the atmosphere is real nice and decor is on point👌. I love that they text 📱you when your food is ready also. That’s a great way to serve. Also this is basically a luxurious food court where you can also be hipster and work 💻out of. It’s pretty dank overall. Can’t wait to try every place!! 😁EDIT: the grilled cheese is everything. I legit get it once a week. If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out. Farm to market on the bottom floor is where you get it. It’s the absolute best thing in the world 🤤🤤🤤
Super excited this awesome new food hall opened in Kansas City. The inside is tastefully decorated and there is a variety of seating options from soft seating to tables to patio seating. I love that I can get unique food options from multiple new start ups in one spot! So cool!
