Pardubická pivnice u Járy - Czech restaurant in Prague, Czech Republic
Wonderful pub dinner! Bean and sausage soup, potato pancakes with olomouc cheese, greek salad and spicy pork goulash. Goulash was incredible, soup, too. The olomouc cheese was a challenge to our Amercian taste buds, but very interesting and well prepared. Service and ambience both excellent.
I had big Pig Steak. It was lovely.
The staff spoke English and was very helpful. The food is very authentic and local. Definitely try the local beers. Highly recommend this place.
The food was amazing, I recommend beef with cranberry sauce. You can pay cash and card as well. The beer was as good as I expected. Very good place if you want to eat out.
Good food
Good local food. Nice and quick service. Good food quality. Very reseanable local prices.
Great food, good beers and 🍷. Will be back.
Delicous food great service , Traditional food 5/5
Very nice place, good service and good food, and especially local and typical food. The price was totally fine so we highly recommend !
If you want to get local food this is the place. It looked intimidating in the begging without crowds storming the door but its the perfect spot for some Czech food. Decent prices, lemonade and non alcoholic beer on tap as well. The area around is great for exploring.
Ive been in Prague a week, and the food here is better than any 4.7-star restaurant that Ive eaten at. Service was friendly but maybe a bit absentminded but overall an excellent dinner. Great porter also.
Great food, great service, great prices.
Great food, kind service, good price, but dated interior (which may soon be antique;-)
I was omy to another place but appeared here. Not a point of regret: warm service, delicious food and tasty beer
Great service and yummy food! Would recommend!
Really nice place to have a typical czech beer. The barman was an excelent guy. I will definitely return to this bar!
Nice place, decent food and good beer. Nothing to complain about, but nothing that stands out.
The food and beer here is so good! Super friendly staff. Try the peppered steak and garlic potato pancakes!!!
Had our first meal in Prague as it’s near our hostel. Food was okay and I guess it’s a very local bar
best pork i had so far.Really cheap too.The staff is really nice. The atmosphere is a little bit grim and dark but the food and the service make up for that.Totally recommend
Great food and great service. I will definetely reccomend that place to my friends. I had cheese in potato pancake. Pork steak with garlic, onion a and fried bean will blow your mind. Big portion in good price. It was a good choice.
Delicious food, cheap beer, nice atmosphere. Tried their specialties (pork knee and pork steak for meat eaters, cheese in potato pancake for vegetarians), much recommended, good price for big portions. The pancakes had 3 different cheeses inside, tasty and big, could have some salad though. Were very satisfied
My favorite restaurant in Prague. Great Pardubice Porter, old school heavy wood furniture, relaxed atmosphere, friendly, efficient but not overbearing service, food is very good, prices low.
delicious food, tasty beer, very hospitable armosphere, Prague atmosphere. small alcoholic thanks for the order :)
Really nice place. Food is really teasty (to be honest the best meal since 3 days in Praha). Nice service, good price and beers and alcohol 😊
Low key traditional pivnice with friendly service and good food. Some live music (guitar and accordionon my last visit early on a Saturday evening which added a surprising additional dimension. Not sure whether this is a regular thing.
Traditional bar with a nice selection of typical Czech dishes. Service is friendly and fast, payment by card was possible as well. Recommended!
Gem in the heart of Zizkov! Great beer, good food, nice staff and modest prices! The place is clean and has an atmosphere of its own!
We like the atmosphere here. The food is good and beer 🍺 is cheap. A beef with bread dumplings was small and a bit tough.Pork and chicken was good.
Lively tavern, pleasant atmosphere. The food was cheap, but didnt taste fresh. One of the waiters apparently didnt like us for some reason as he kept giving us a dirty look, but others were friendly.Nice place if you want to have a cheap drink in a spirited atmosphere, but dont expect anything else.
Both of us had the daily menus of beef and dumplings and cranberries. The taste was good, but the portion was small although for only 145kc. The menu came with English translation and the restaurant met expectations for a local Czech restaurant. It is located right across the street a nice park with cafe.It is a cash only establishment and have nice service which is very fast.
The waiter speaks fluent English and is very polite. Food is good and the prices are even better 35 CZK for a large beer! The restaurant is a bit dark because of the dimmed lights but this just adds to the atmosphere
Is a great restaurant to have dinner and beer... Food is actually quite cheap and the owner is friendly
This place was one very good Czech food place in Prague with really nice beer options. The table was full when we came, so the hist offered us wait in the standing barrel table while having the beer. We only waited abiut 15 or 20 minutes to get the table and it really was worth the wait!Rhe food was very reach in flavour and generous in portion. All of us loved our food. Definitely will come back whenever we visit Prague again!
Good beer, even better food and friendly staff.
Visited this place twice to eat.The restaurant offeres Czech dishes with an english/russian Menue. The cuisine is very dependent on meat, as a vegetarian this place is not for you. However if you like beef, pork or chicken check it out. The food is really good and inexpensive. Payed 20€ for two people including 4 beers. The beer is okayish, its not the best but you wont die of thirst, plus its also cheap. All in all we really liked this restaurant and recommend you check it out.
Best places in Prague... Very nice stuff, Excellent food! Recommended!
Three main dishes was taste, but expensive. Waiter is pretty friendly. Card payment isnt available.
Good authentic local food. Prices are reasonable. Seemed better than Town square food.
Very good traditional Czech place, people mostly come here for the beer and if you try one you would understand why. Especially the porter, its simply amazing. And the kitchen is great too, the koleno was so soft it literally melt in my mouth. The servings are large so think twice before ordering multiple dishes in one time.
Delicious local food, at reasonable prices.
After a long day of walking around Prague without eating, I was famished by the time I found this place. Ordered the potato pancakes, which were done beautifully, then also ordered a palačinky for dessert. And finished it all. Friendly service, food is delicious, abundant, affordable. Be aware that they accept cash only.
Lovely traditional Czech restaurant. Slightly out of the way from the city centre by foot but near several great youth hostels. The food is very competitively priced while still being delicious, and the staff spoke English, German, and Czech too!
A very nice traditional Czech place with local cuisine at very affordable prices and huge portion sizes of delicious meals. They serve local beers too. They take cash and the local cash machine is about 5 minutes walk from the restaurant (do not use the nearest Eurobank, use the Česká Spořitelna ATM on the corner of Seifertova and Milìcova which is about 5 minutes walk from Pivnice u Járy for much lower convertion rate). The service was friendly and helpful. If you want a feel of what a Czech pub is like choose this place. Its well worth a walk outside of the city centre not only for the prices, but also for its good quality and a very Czech atmosphere.
Nice, averige place. Food not quite what we thought we ordered, pepperstake was grilled and burned on the side and too thin, the sauce was like stock, too thin and without cream or taste. A little mixtup whit odrers.
What a Gem!!Awesome czech Food for affordable Prices. If you want to experience real Czech Dining go there - you wont be dissapointed :)
An absolutely wonderful place to have a nice beer at, along with a great BIG and so affordable meal! Amazingly delicious!
Great little eating place, plenty of local Czech food at really affordable prices, good beer too.
Good and cheap food. I recommend beef with dill sauce and bread dumplings.
Their own signature Porter beer is on point, great wayto start the day. Prices are inexpensive. Recommend the Chicken cream cranberry steak with Caribbean potatoes. A secret resto we were lucky to find out about, nice friendly staff, especially the guy with glasses. Goulash was perfect, although they ran out of it for several days.
