Paragon Restaurant in Calicut
Description
Privilege
Ordered chicken biriyani and kozhi kunjipori... It was very tasty.. kozhi kunjipori had a traditional flavor... It was delicious. But the staffs were a bit reluctant. Didnt tell us the menu
MoreVisited the restaurant on 3rd Sep 2022 with my friend and family. Its one of the best restaurants in Calicut. Its little bit crowded place. We had to wait around 30 min to get the seats. Since its crowded either you should call prior or give your name on e you reached . They will arrange the seatings once vacant. Very nice staff behaviour and nice food. The ambence was excellent. Restroom and was area was neatly maintained. A recomended place for trying traditional and authentic foods.
MoreIts the old paragon outlet at the heart of town. Waited for 1 hr to get a seat on a Saturday noon. Fish curry meals and mutton biryani are very good. Meals are worth for the rate(Rs 110/-). Good service. Hygienic washrooms. Paragon chicken fry is a must try. Chicken biryani is not worth the hype and tastes average. Crowd management is very poor. Ample car parking space available 👍. Try dine-in if you are ready to spend minimum 2-3hrs for lunch.
MoreMango fish curry with appam is delicious. Prawns fry is amazing too!! Must visit for food lovers
MoreTaste is good, it is a very busy restaurant, it doesnt have to be good taste every day,the last time we ate the food was good, their tea is very tasty
MoreThis restaurant is located just under the Mananchira over bridge. Its serving good food from morning 6 to midnight. I appreciate the efforts of the management and the workers who consume themselves to feed us. This is such a wonderful effort by them as they are serving from 6 AM to midnight 12 o clock.
MoreOne of the famous restaurants in Kozhikode.Visited on a weekend. Had to wait atleast 30-40min to get a seat(may vary depending on rush).Must visit place for biriyani lovers. The chicken biriyani was delicious and loved it.Felt masala was less in biriyani. But still tastier.Tried their kanthari chicken curry and pepper alfahm with porottas, phulka etc.The alfahm was not that great and didnt met our expectation.
MoreFor chicken biriyani lovers, it is the place to get the best one in Calicut. Chicken will be lagoon not broiler. Vellayappam and porotta is also great. If you want a calm place and spend time to eat, better take the upper rooms, one with AC.
MoreYes...as we know this is one of the oldest restaurants in Calicut town , and they keep the taste standard all the time.I tried beef fry and Kerala Paratha. Its so finger licking tasty 😋😋..This was my first time here in this restaurant, I heard about this from my childhood..Highly recommended.
MoreTry butter chicken , chicken pepper roast with porotta. Chicken roast is also good. Try tender pudding and tender coconut payasam
MoreGood food and service. The top items are always in demand so you have to reach the hotel at the earliest to have a taste. The interior did not impress me . And because of their fame its always busy. We had to sit in a table where the waste is still on the table thats a bit annoying .
MoreVery good experience. Food&service are top-notch.Ambience is exceptionally good.Waiters are very good.Veg Biriyani, Gobi manchurian, kulfi and cake are very tasty. Overall satisfying experience. Loved the place very much.
MoreHad their karimeen pollichad ,noolporotta, chicken 65 & coconut appam, it was so good. The marinade on karimeen was one of it’s kind . Also the chicken 65 came with a generous portion of crispy മൊരി & noolporotta was flaky and had so many crunchy layers,it’s a keralite dream😍.Also ordered their ilaneer pudding, which much to my surprise was very much natural and had authentic flavours, no artificial creaminess or flavourings .On the flip side they really need to improve their seating, giving families a bit more privacy. Waiters were sweating even in monsoons and it was still very much humid inside. The service was slow, but the food was well worth the wait.
MoreThe taste of the biriyani here is authentic and the spices in the biriyani is not overloaded, we can enjoy the biriyani easily salads, the chammanthi and dates pickle provided along woth the biriyani is awesome, for full chicken biriyani they charges 180₹ and for halfchicken biriyani at 130₹.
MoreOn my Kozhikode food tour, this was the restaurant I visited the most. The prices are very reasonable and one can get absolutely delicious meals at all times. The mutton stew, appams, beef and porotha and the Biryani are must haves! Also the hidden gem - Mutton Roast or Varathiyatthu!!Two hacks:1. Go on a weekday and get a seat in the AC section2. Parking is an issue (might have to park below a bridge), so take an auto
MoreAfter hearing a lot of referrals we decided to try it.. we went for breakfast.. there was a little rush on this place.. at that time.. however the wait was worth it after trying the food.. the food taste delicious and they maintained the infrastructure at its best and have clean bathrooms.. the experience was awesome.. definitely will recommend this place... Its just couple of kilometres from the railway station..
MoreParagon, a brand thats needs no introduction, has done well to set up a fine team of people carry out this calicut branch. The waiters are polite, The food is good and tasty🌮 I ordered mussel fry from there😋 Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to grab a quick bite around the area
More✅ Overall tasty Biriyani. But definitely not an extraordinary (we tried Chicken Biriyani)✅ coffee was very nice✅ wheelchair accessible place.✅ A/C tables are available✅ relatively fast table service at non peak times (11am)✅ suitable for casual lunch/dinner✅ quick bites are available✅ card and cash are acceptable✔️ Limited parking facility + narrow road✔️ Easily accessible from city
MoreVery famous hotel. Maybe you will wait some time for getting a chair. Liked tender coconut pudding. Porotta was good. Very easy reach here. All auto drivers know this place. Established 1935. Nice staff behaviour. Fish Curry was good. Super lime tea. If you are in Calicut must visit here. #calicut #foodie #outing
MoreOne of the oldest restaurants famed for their Biriyani. The mutton and chicken variant were tasty and subtly spiced. Meat was extremely well cooked. Appam and stew is another good option. Tends to get extremely busy during lunch hours.Service is good. Parking available. There are separate counters for takeaways so no crowding at entrances.
MoreWhenever traveling to Calicut I have a visit to Paraqon. This time was disappointed with the serving. The photos are of Butter Garlic Prawns (thats what the manager said)Its was marinated (may be corn flourand tossed in sauces. Something similar to Gobi Manchurian when asked in detail he said its Paraqon Style butter garlic prawns. After a small discussion they decided to exclude that from the bill. But this was not about the money part. Wanted to have a good food and it turned out disappointing.
MoreNOT WORTH TOO EXPENSIVE !!!!On the way from Kannur we stopped here for lunch. We waited for close to an hour n got the seat. 420rs for a five piece Butter garlic prawns was too costly. Similarly prawns Varuthacurry for 5 prawns is costly. Coming to king fish tawa fry 540rs totally not worth. We had the same menu in Kannur in a famous fine dine hotel the bill was 50% cheap. They serve good food no doubt but they could’ve increase the quantity by 100%. Because I am sure the price they get seafood is much cheaper. Will never recommend to visit unless you don’t see the price tag for good food.Prawns biryani what I get in coimbatore is too good. Their biryani is not worth the hype. Also prawns served with their tails really uncomfortable to eat.
MoreThat chicken Biriyani.. 🤩It has been a long wait to taste this extraordinary Biriyani from Paragon.Understood why people are ready wait outside for a long time. Taste - no compromise. Worthy visit.Weve also ordered Fried rice, butter chicken, naan, porotta, fruit salad, Falooda, lime.. Etc.. Etc.. Everything was excellent. 👌
MoreExcellent briyani, parato, panner chilly fry, Food is superb taste. The place is always busy and crowded. You should go there at 12.30 for lunch and sit only in AC seating to relish the food. Vegetarian food is very limited. They have car parking space available too.
MoreAwesome go to restaurant for visitors coming to Kozhikode from Railway station.Very tasty biryani! Very good service...But very crowded, should start writing the names in reception for queue as it gets awkward to stand behind occupied table to get it empty... kindly look for good waiting system... otherwise everything is very good !
MoreDelicious food... Paragon restaurant highlight dish is Biryani. Always crowded. You need to wait 5-10 minutes to get a seat to eat there... Price is average.Take away is also available
MoreAfter a tiresome journey from Thrissur, we had been to this place- Paragon hotel. The food was scrumptious and the service provided was amazing ...#Feeling home away from home#..A place that shouldnt be missed in Kozhikode😊
MoreOne of my favourite hotel at my town.Their food is simply awesome and their food smell just bring there always if you are pass nearby.
MoreHad to wait in queue for almost 45 mins before we finally got the chance to get a table. The waiting area is hot and overcrowded and there is no crowd management. When you finally get in though, it is like going from purgatory to heaven. Inside the AC seating area it is cool and not at all crowded. You can order at your own pace and eat peacefully. The food is amazing and tasty. Almost worth the wait.
MoreThis time we tasted mutton and chicken biriyaani. I have experienced Appam and Chicken stew earlier and which I felt as their best. Normally when planning for biriyaani I opt beef variant another restaurant in the same area, but in Ramadan month it will be closed.Anyway now happy to be here and to taste the best in class and always available food. No delay, ample spaces to accomodate a big crowd. Will be coming here again even if we plans for Biriyani.
MoreOne of the oldest and famous restaurants in Calicut where you will get awesome food at reasonable price. Excellent service. If you are going to Calicut and needs to taste authentic Kerala food, don’t miss this place. You will get yummy Biriyani and soft Kerala porotta.Car parking facility is available. The restaurant has 2 entrances. You need to reserve the seats. Although the waiting period to get the seats may seems to be longer, it’s worth visiting this place.
MoreOne of the best and most famous restaurant in Kozhikode. Biriyani is very tasty and the prices are also reasonable. The place can get very crowded sometimes.
MoreNice restaurant in Calicut. But heavy crowd during lunch time. One need to wait...but it is worth. Even in the stampeding crowd also they serve the food ASAP in piping hot condition.
MoreIf you want to have scrumptious food, just step in to Paragon. Always likes to have food from paragon, as it is a years of trust that they will definitely serve quality and yummy foods. My favourites are chicken fried rice, biriyani, chicken lollipop, soups and desserts etc...
MoreAn exact food destination for all types of food. The best biriyani available. All other dishes available with its authentic taste. Well mannered staffs too. They always keep track on their taste and consistency of every food available.❤️
MoreNice food and service. The place is crowded, you have to be there by 7pm to avoid waiting time on weekends.Ordered these items -Starters - Mutton soup, pomfret tawa fry, prawns tawa fry Main course - Appam, fish mango curryDessert - Coconut payasam, puddingsStarters were good. Mains and the desserts were excellent.
MoreVisited paragon Kozhikode after so many years.. awesome nostalgic feeling after having mutton biryani..will always be a fan of paragon biriyani .
MoreOne of the Classics in Kozhikode, Good Food, Courteous Staff, although it was crowded, the service was prompt, it gets extremely crowded after 1PM, but the concierge did his job meticulously, hats of to him too! This particular branch is a bit small, so not that spacious inside yet a good and quiet place to Dine!Especially the fact that its right next to the Legendary Milk Sarbath of Kozhikode makes this location almost perfect!
MoreWent here ..after seeing multiple reviews ..and it didnt disappoint me a bit ...actually the 1km walk we took from our stay to the hotel and 20 mins wait was all worth the taste and quality of food ...The biriyani ( chicken is the best I had ...we also had squid tawa fry , kanthari chicken grilled and nool porattaa...I liked all of them and but my recommendations would be the biriyani , and ilaneer payasam.Must must try...
MoreI was not ready to go to Paragon on my trip to Calicut because I have always felt its a hyped restaurant. But people kept talking about the mutton stew that I thought I should visit it before passing any judgement. Thank god I changed my.mind. The mutton stew was the yummiest, creamiest I have had. The aroma of spices with the sweet fragrance of coconut milk, makes it one of the best mutton stews I have had. And hot hot fluffy appams, crispy at the ends and soft at the centre makes the perfect combo. The biryani we had for lunch was also good. But its the mutton stew that definitely makes Paragon worth a visit. Its a huge place so my suggestion would be to go a little before peak hours.
MoreA restaurant with a legacy.... When u think about food at Calicut ,paragon will come under first three priority.... Calicut paragon under the overbridge is a must try and a very good restaurant which serves very tasty and authentic food... Whether it is Kerala style.or Chinese or biriyani items... Nice ambiance... Cortious staff ..ample parking area available.... Since it is a famous restaurant little bit conjusted and had to wait for getting table...
MoreI went to the place for breakfast and ordered chicken stew, fish mango curry, appam, coffee, tea and coconut pudding. Food is awesome and no question about the quality and service. Great staff with commendable service. If you compare the prices according to other restaurants in the city, youll find it on a higher side but worth the try. You should go to this restaurant of you havent had already.
MoreIf anyone is looking for the best and an authentic Calicut cuisine experience, look no further. Paragon is the place to go, been here quite a few times, have never been disappointed even once.
MoreOne of the well known restaurant in Kerala.Biriyani is awesome 👌👌👌Must Try Appam with Fish Mango CurrySuitable for familiesService is GoodSuitable for familiesNeat and Clean place
MoreTasty food,Good at a corner nearby there is a very famous Milk sarbath shop, Im a visitor of Paragon when Im there in Calicut. The main attraction bis their shop is till 12pm at night so after heavy rush we can go for a night drive and also have dinner from Paragon.I love their Palappam and Fish stew
MoreOne of the oldest restaurant in the town with a huge parking space. There are three categories of seating which we can pick on our choice with a long waiting queue but u will definitely find the seating in less than half hour. When comes to the food they serve a huge varieties of food with amazing taste. Prices are very decent and sea food price is depend on market price so it varies from day to day like a trade market. I and my friends have tried almost 25 varieties of food which included non-veg & veg starters, gravies, biryanis, 11 variets of deserts and even we tried the bonda, vada all of them are excellentKeep it guys ur Standerd and receiving is very great all the best
MoreMy first visit to Kozhikode as well as Paragon Restaurant. Truly enjoyed the experience, the food was yummy 😋 at reasonable price. The place is too famous and too crowded, makes you wait sometime for a table, but it’s worth a wait. Try Kerala authentic cuisine which are special and tastier. Not from this part of India 🇮🇳 so the experience was completely new too me and enjoyed the food as well.
MoreA pleasant and heart warming satisfaction as always when you visit Paragon.Mind it though that due to the popularity you might have to wait a bit to get to a table during rush hours.Even with all the continuous rush in customers, the service is impeccable and the staff are very helpful. An ideal place for tasting the exuberant Kerala cuisine with a kozhikodan (Calicuttouch.
MoreTaste the authentic flavours. We tried the biryani from Paragon by 12pm. Biryani was good. The sides provided was also nice accompaniment with the biryani. After having biryani, step out and have milk sarbath. While we returned after 1pm, the restaurant was too crowded for the lunch. So please do visit before 1pm.Dine in and take away is available.Good parking facility.
MoreThe restaurant is known for its biryani. We had Chicken Biryani,Koonthal fry (squid),Chicken varattiyath,Vellayappam and Wheat Porotta. All of them were super delicious. Although it was very crowded and we had to wait for a long time, they had proper token system to avoid any sort of confusions. The waiters and staff are very customer friendly and polite. We had a glass of Lime tea at the end of our huge meal which was out of the world. The flavor of the lime tea was so good,I cant describe it. On the whole it was a worth the wait dining experience. Going again to treat my taste buds.
