Paradise Biryani Pointe - Indian restaurant in Princeton, United States
Very weird experience. We got the feeling they did not want anyone dining in. A sign says to remain outside the dining room door for seating. We waited. Finally, someone told us to come in and sit wherever we liked. There are about six booths and only one was occupied. After a few minutes, a guy put two water bottles on the table. No menus. We waited. Finally, I went to the bathroom. In the bathroom, there were no paper towels -- but a pile of napkins. A lack of supplies is a sign that a business is having trouble. I felt sorry for them.Returning to the table, there were still no menus. No waiter in sight. We waited a while longer, and my wife said, "Do you want to cut our losses?" We left for Olive Garden. No one cared.
Ordered goat biryani yesterday and it was one of the worst , tasteless biryani ever had. This is after specifically asking for a spicy biryani . If they can’t cook their specialty right to even taste average , rest of items got to be worst . Don’t waste your time and money at this place .
Came in to pick up an order after 30 minutes. Lady in front told me 5 more minutes... an hour passed, no food, I cancelled and left. Unless you have nothing to do all day, go elsewhere
We wanted biryani and that was the first item we ordered and was the last to be served. I understand it takes time. But we order more food too.Andhra Chicken curry and garlic naan was AMAZING. Chicken was just melting on the mouth. Then came the biryani, we were full. The meat again was cooked very well. but it wasn’t the best biryani. It was rice steamed with meat. The mix of biryani was massing. The only complaint is the service is very poor. You dont feel welcomed there. Its so casual. At one pint there was no one at the front desk or on the floor. Thee were people coming for pickup orders and didnt know where to go and looking at our faces for answers.
The flavors are gone. The prices are up and amount is very very less. The size of container got smaller then the amount inside got lesser too.
We ordered food for 100 people. Appetizers and biryani were authentic Hyderabad taste. I recommend to definitely try and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Thank you team paradise lawrenceville
Great place so far!almost tasted every dish.Felt like to suggest you people.Trust me you would love this place and food.and after all this service is excellent
Food is yum!If you want to have the best indian food must visit this place.mutton curry tastes delicious! 😋
Biriyani (both Goat & Chickenwas just ok for the taste but the quantity was very very less (I would not go backAND Mango Lassi was horrible had to trash it, doesn’t even deserve ONE star!
Good service and delicious goat biryani with awesome raitha and masala majjiga with goat sukka. I really love the food.😎😎
If you would like yellow colored tasteless rice with over burnt and over salty chicken that this place calls “Biryani” please do visit.. else you are better off this place.Ordered two chicken biryani that were nothing but above. What a waste of money and torture to my mouth and stomach.
Worst Indian food even ate in An Indian Restaurant. We got Kadhayi Paneer, Daal tadka, Chicken Biryani and Tandoori Rotis. Paneer dish was just tomato puree mixed with paneer cubes. Dal was simply boiled water with no flavors. Biryani was OK not that great as expected (Paradise biryani, Hyderabad)There was no AC so compromised with a pedestal fan as it was 9pm. When we complained about good then he was not ready to take the complaint and said we can’t do anything about it.Wasted money! Never coming back and will not recommend to anyone.Hire good chef or ask them to learn cooking from youtube at-least (its free).
This place has gone from good to average to really bad in the last 3 years. We went last Sunday evening and the AC was broken, the entire restaurant was stinking and the restrooms were really dirty. The general upkeep and hygiene was questionable but we still went ahead and ordered food. Chilly chicken tasted completely off with too much of siracha or vinegar in it and Apollo fish was falling apart and soggy. Nans came out over done and dry. We had to cancel our biryani order because of the way appetizers and the overall experience was going. I tried to share my feedback with the person at the counter but of no use as they arent interested in listening and improving (just said this is how their food is supposed to taste...he had no answer about the lack of hygiene. I had a similar experience in April when I had ordered catering (chicken 65 had no taste and biryani got spoiled in a few hoursbut still gave another chance. Now know that we need to stay away from this place at all costs!!
I order through Uber eats, I got super salty food, I ordered paneer butter masala , butter naan, but was super salty , naan was also super salty, and naan was looked like roti.
Horrible food, Horrible service. The shrimp was like days old. Chicken 65 was so dry. Its no way near the taste of biryani
So I will say this the food does taste good but it doesnt look anything like the picture from what I received and the portion size for the amount that theyre charging makes absolutely no sense I got a little bowl of food and a little bowl of rice for $16 all together tax included it tasted good Im not going to lie but for the amount of what I spent and how it looked I felt deceived
I always like this place before 2020. They had the best service and the waiters were friendly and kind. It was also clean and well kept. But I went back the other day, and I was surprised at how unclean it was. We waited for the food for more than 45 minutes. When it arrived, the roti and naan were dry and hard (the worst). The biryani was not good. May be three pieces of goat meat in it. The butter chicken was plain. It was so below average yet exceedingly expensive. I think they changed ownership. And the new management isn’t keeping up with the brand. F.
I would not recommend this restaurant. Ordered takeout boneless biryani. They served cold colored rice with hard chicken pieces. Food is expensive compared to other Indian restaurants and taste is horrible
I dont want to recommend this restaurant to anyone...the food smell was bad and taste was not good...it was full of oil in Keema biriyani....I was very upset of quality and quantity was very low and cost is 16$ .the matter is they are taking service charge of 18%extra along with 6% sales tax...Does anyone had idea that from last month, new jersey restaurants are charging 18% service charge for dine in ???
I’ve throughly enjoyed Hyderabad-Dum-Biryani here. Being from Hyderabad myself I expect the Biryani to be dry, spicy and most importantly not sweet. I’m glad the Biryani was not doused in Saffron water like you find in some places which not only makes it sweet, it also completely masks the taste of any other spices. The spices were perfect, the chicken was well cooked, you can tell it was well marinated. Great experience overall.
Well I am not usually a review writer, but this kind of food made me do. This is the worst place to order from, first no courtesy at all from the person speaking, many busy busy restaurants also have time for hi sir/madam may I take your order or something. Here - yes tell. And I placed order for pickup1. Cut Mirchi - there were literally 5 small pieces with a lot of cut onions, its ok if it was $5 but it was $9.45 or something and it was all soggy no crunch whatsoever.2. Chicken Lollipops - my kids love this, from other places but after eating this they were at the first bite no. It was hard chewy and dripping with all kinds of info- Chinese sauces, very tastelessly done. And definitely the chicken was not fresh.3. Boneless Chicken Biryani - Cold, soulless. The pieces were dry and the biryani rice was hard and dry. No taste at all whatsoever. And I was a regular here before March 2019 when it was under different management, then it was excellent.
The food was cold and bad. I went there for the first time to celebrate my dads birthday . It was lunch time. There was no taste in the food. They served cold dosa. The naan were thick and not chewable. The manchurian balls were old . I would recommend to never try this place. It was a waste of money and time. They served cold food . The partha was burned and black. When I told the lady about it, she told it was made in bhatta where we stick and make. I have eaten bhatta parathas before. I know how they taste . The lady in the front charged 18% gratitude without asking . We were just three people. My parents told me not to complain and be disrespectful. We left with unhappy faces and bad mood.
The best biryani, mouthwatering. Chicken pieces were so succulent and flavourful and it had the right blend of spices. I’ve ordered butter chicken and some starters, overall I had fulfilling experience visiting this place. I would definitely come here again.
Had a very disappointing experience ordering food from here. Even after repeated requests, the food was finally prepared so spicy and the kids had a tough time eating it. The Paneer Tikka was so hard and dry. The Paneer butter masala almost had no paneer in it and the gravy was so watery. The veg korma was so tasteless. The kulcha and naan were so dry. I would never want to go back to this place again!
We went with the family there for dinner and there was no one inside, no one even seated us until the person at the front desk showed up after we picked our own seat. Couple more people showed up and they had the same experience, they went inside the kitchen to look for people to ask for menu. Food was ok and overcharged. The restroom they have is filthy and horrible, looked like no one did a cleanup for days. Service is also horrible, I literally had to ask about couple of items we ordered as they forgot about it. At the end, I was surprised to see 18% service charge included for almost no service. I don’t know how this place is still running.
I am a fan of Paradise Biryani on the whole. I love the goat biryani. However, this location in Lawrenceville NJ is a disappointment once again. Today the biryani was pretty tasteless, missing both salt as well as the appropriate spices. While its convenient for me here in Princeton, next time I will drive to the North Brunswick location instead.
It is hard to rate the food because I was so upset by the horrible service. I had to ask twice for our drinks which were only cans of Coke. There was only one other table seated at the restaurant but we were never checked on and it was obvious that the staff could care less how we were doing. The table had sticky spots that I used the water that was provided to clean. My son enjoyed the food though, so that is something. Another thing is we were charged an 18% service charge for a party of three.
I am a big foodie, and when I moved to New Jersey, I became obsessed with biryani. In my quest for the best biryani, Ive tried it in nearly five different restaurants. Many people told me that paradise is the best place to visit, but I had to experience it for myself to believe it. So I went there with some friends one Saturday night and ordered three different types of biryani. This is the best place to get biryani that tastes just like it does in Hyderabad. The chicken is always cooked to perfection and soft, the biryani ingredients are of high quality, and stale biryani is never served. Though different places have different biryani masala, paradise has a subtle blend of spices that are perfectly complimented by a very well cooked chicken .And Appetizers, I tried the Gobi 65, Apollo fish, chicken 65, and chilli garlic shrimp. Appetizers here are well tossed with a good seasoning. The nicest part is that they dont take long to serve the dish....Thank you, Paradise, for serving the nourishment I so desperately crraved for
First time eating Indian food, nothing to complain about. My son got the chili chicken, although spicy, very enjoyable. Glad you are open during these times.
Its really difficult to find authentic hyderabadi and Indian food in the US. I live in the Northwest and the Indian food there hardly meets minimum standards in majority of parameters. During my visit to NJ I tried food at this restaurant; Its probably the best Indian restaurant food I have consumed in the US. Appetizers are truly great with lots of spices and flavor. If one doesnt like the food, restaurant management makes sure its corrected immediately to suit the individuals palate.
I just loved the food and the hospitality.....you get variety of items with grat quality .i would recommend everyone to go eat in paradise.well mannered and well managed ❤️❤️
Yemmi mutton kheema and mutton Biryani with mouth watering south ind Hyderabad Flavor. Authentic spices with roasted ghee pieces asle Hyderabad ka birayni#biryani #southindianbiryani #muttonbiryani #muttonkheema #mutton #pradisebiryani #biraynis #paradisebiryanilawrenceville ..thanks for paradise Biryani Lawrenceville new Jersey
Horrible experience. ordered food for my sons birthday party. The biryani was stale/rotten, it was within an hour from picking up the food from the restaurant. When went back to the restaurant later with the entire order as a proof, the owners appeared to be condescending and blamed us for the stale food rather than providing any apology for the circumstance or any intention to rectify the situation or taking any responsibility. They even suggested we are faking all of these to get a refund for the food and get "free money" from them; I was startled by the audacity of the suggestive comment and the pathetic customer service and then again the poor quality of the food.
On my sons birthday last Sunday we ordered biryani from "Paradise Biriyani Pointe" in Lawrenceville, NJ. The food was picked up from the restaurant and was served for lunch within an hour from the pickup time. All our guests could smell the stale/rotten biryani as it was served . However when we tried to contact the restaurant immediately they not only denied the possibility of stale food, but showed no urgency to pick up the stale food or requested us to meet them at the restaurant with the food. When we reached the store later with few of our friends and with all the food that we ordered as a proof, the restaurant owners rather than trying to resolve the issue in hand argued with us in a very condescending manner trying to explain we do not know how to handle biryani, and then used other suggestive derogatory statement questioning the authenticity of our claim and intention; in order to refuse a refund of the money.Once more the owner is not acknowledging our complain of rotten biriyani rather trying to make us look as liars. What a service!!! In the receipt it can be seen that we ordered one veg biriyani along with the goat biriyani. Accidentally while serving I put them together. As a restaurant owner he should know mixing veg biriyani with goat biriyani should cause the rotten smell. So as per his point on my son’s birthday I ordered biriyani from somewhere else and blamed it on Paradise Biriyani of Lawrenceville, waste all our precious time arguing with the restaurant rather than enjoying the party. To his point we have received the refund and working with the credit card company to revert it back. He can use it as a donation to feed actually freshly made good quality biriyani to the poor. All the people who went there were wearing masks. This could be checked in the camera.
I got 2 biriyanis today.. Biriyani is tasty but the curry mix was totally spoiled and smelling.. My kid ate a little and asked me to check. I have called them to inform about this and they surprisingly are reluctant to accept ... If my kid had eaten, for sure she would have fallen sick ... I thought of taking back the filthy stuff to show them, but its very far from my house.
They messed up almost everything we ordered. The chicken lolipop was sweeter than candy, the chicken corn soup has no corn in it and the chicken is just prices of chicken 65 dropped in the veg soup, and the biryani gravy was overly spicy. On the bright side, the service was good.
I went from all the way from Philly to have Biryani based on the reviews but was really disappointed with the portion size of the goat biryani, I thought it as a kids meal size so imagine. Not sure its because of covid pls do something about it coz $14.99 for almost like 1/4 cup rice biryani is way too much. The chicken kadai was average and naans were too kadak and not soft at all. One thing I liked was mango lassi it was beyond tasty. My order was ready in 8-12 mins max. So it was just heated and bought to the table. The taste was good for the biryani and the curry served with it and raita but giving 3 star for the portion and rest of the meal.
I ordered the garlic naan, paneer tikka masala and the mango lassi.Truly enjoyed the paneer tikka masala.. ordered the hot 🥵 and it was perfect. Defitnleu recommend it.. can’t wait to come back and try the butter masala.Got here a little past 8 and parking wasn’t a problem and my food came out fast despute a couple of big parties.
Dont know why this isnt rated higher. Amazing quality food with big portions. They accommodated us for a large party with no problem. I will be returning to try more dishes soon. I had the chicken Biryani paired with the mango lassi and it was fantastic.
Poor customer service, bad quality food.I ordered boneless chicken biryani with mild spice level. After pickup when i reached home and about to serve to kids, noticed that it is infect not boneless , instead it had chicken leg pieces (4 and rest is all rice. Very bad quality. I called the restaurant and had conversation with one of the associate. He apologized for wrong item delivery , after talking to manager he confirmed that next time when i order they will not charge for it as a compensation. But eventually this promise was not kept when i tried to order after few weeks.Very poor customer service. Will never go back again.
Yesterday i had chicken boneless biriyani and 555 chicken starter for dinner and the food was awesome. I felt like i had the same paradise biriyani at hyderabad.
I need to give them 5 star. We initially walked in for Buffet, but was really dissapointed with the quality. Food was stale and cold. When this was brought to the management notice, they not only changed it but got us fresh food.. We went with ÀlaćarteOrdered Biryani, curry, naan and other side items. I was more than happy with their service.Lets talk about the taste, its one of the best. Having grown around biryani, I can rate them as one of the best in USA.Dont forget to taste their Fish Fry..
This is an updated review from a couple years ago. Ive been going here for a while. Ive heard they had new management. When we used to order food we would get a good helping of meat with our dishes. Lately theyve been skimping out on meat and giving me just sauce as a dish. I think I counted 4-5 pieces and the rest sauce. The price also went up which I wasnt crazy about. What was once good, is now mediocre. This will be the last time Ill be ordering from here.
A year ago when we went to this restaurant, we found a chicken piece in our vegetarian soup and they didn’t do anything to make us happy. After that my wife ever wanted to visit this place again. But on 7th sept 2019, I convinced her to give them a chance and try one more time. Being Biriyani place, we ordered a Egg Biriyani. We requested a spicy Biriyani. After a long wait got out Biriyani. Except for eggs, we didn’t see any other vegetables in the Biriyani. Biriyani wasn’t spicy and Biriyani Masala was very little to none. It tasted like a white rice with eggs.We did inform and showed the rice but I didn’t see they are doing anything about it. It’s gets big NO from me.
Had authentic biryani at this place. Friendly staff and amazing ambience makes it a great place to have Indian food.
Great food. I visited this place with my friends for a weekend party and tried different dishes. Loved all the dishes. But, worth trying lamb chops, chicken 555 and Biryani (one of the best biryanis in NJ).
Food was great compare to other paradise..... had to wait too long for biryani....but was total worth....also chicken tikka....great....small staff but good service.
Had only appetizers. Out of 4, 3 were good (didnt like cut mirchi, too crispy on the outside and not spicy ). Service was excellent. Very attentive friendly waiters. Place inside although small its decent. Will go back for sure and try biryani sometime.
Yesterday i dined in with my colleagues and took home a Chicken Boneless Biryani for my wife and while she was eating she got this 1.5 inch thick copper coil. Accidentally she bite it and got her tooth hurt. We really like the taste of their biryani but with this incident i decided i will never go there. Also now a days they are using rotten chicken pieces (observe properly while u are eating chicken piece will be in grey color. Please try to avoid these guys.
Good flavorful food, its not an exceptional Indian restaurant in my opinion.Ordered idli sambar, sambar tasted really good. Paneer 65, paneer was too chewy. Cut Mirchi was really good, crispy. Also got the malai kofta, which was good but was rich in cardamom and Ive tasted better koftas dumplings. The bhagara baingan was good - ordered it as medium spicy and the spice level was good enough for (I have a very high tolerance for spiceif I got it as hot spice level I dont think I would have tasted the peanut and tamarind flavor in it. Onion kulcha was really good.Overall I would rate it as a good restaurant in the Princeton area.
