Parade Gardens - Garden in Bath, United Kingdom
Happy to pay a couple of pounds to visit here for a lovely Autumnal walk.
In all the years that I lived in Bath, I had never been into Parade Gardens. So on our latest visit to Bath, we did just that. You can pay a £2 donation, but if you are local to BANES or a student, then you can enter for free. Once in, you can take a leisurely stroll around, including down near the river, where you can take photos of the Pulteney Weir. I was surprised that there were still quite a lovely array of different flowers, for October. They have an onsite cafe, for drinks, cakes and ice cream. You can also sit on the deckchairs provided, for a breather. There are various ornamental statues within the open space. You can also see the pet cemetery. Worth a visit when going to Bath.
Beautiful park, well manicured and colourful. Odd that they charge £2 for it, unsure where the money goes.Got some nice views of the river and buildings. Toilets are 20p, again odd.Nice place to sit or relax
Pretty place but what kind of city park charges an entry fee
£2 each to get in. And then you have to pay to use the toilet as well. Was it worth it? In all honesty, no. But was it nice to escape the hustle and bustle and sit down somewhere nice and trainquil? Yes, most definitely. If I lived in Bath I would never go here. But as a tourist, the cost isnt that high and it was worth a visit. Its a nice place.
Lovely little park, attended at pay desk great fun guy that loves his job a few pounds each not alot, deck chairs, cafe, toilet. We had a ride on a site seeing bus we thought it was expensive and a poor trip best to walk ( we have been on alot of site seeing buses lots of shops and Bath is a great place to visit, we will go again.
Nice park which we didn’t mind paying for. However, the toilets are also paid for (only 20pbut were disgusting. Surely the payment is to keep everything in nice condition but this definitely wasn’t. A real shame.
Costs £2 per adult to get into the park. Quiet, relaxing area with some pretty flowerbeds. Good view of the river and cascading waterfall.
Why pay £2 when you can take pictures from the road?! Its a small park adjacent to the river.
This waterside park features 3 statues: (1The founder of Bath who was a wealthy pig herder, he discovered that the spa water had healing powers and cured his leprosy. (2A musician called Wolfgang Mozart who came from Austria, he is seen play a violin. (3A female angel with open wings, to memorialise the deaths caused by war.
Loved the scenery. I love how you arent allowed to play "ball games" and no electric scooters, love how it keeps out the youth. As I was inside the park I found 16 different veriations of the "daffodil" was quite a treat and was worth bringing my 7 freinds for 16 pounds. Enjoyed it very much. thank you bath.
Not free to get in, £2, but a nice park and since you have to pay its worth staying and chilling for a bitToilet in the park, despite paying to get in, is a paid toilet, only 20p but I dont understand the logic there
Lovely park in the city centre beautiful flower beds and lots of space for a picnic.
These delightful gardens are Baths most centrally situated pleasure grounds. Overlooking the River Avon, they give fine views of Pulteney Bridge and the weir. Parade Gardens is open to the public at a small charge(2 GBP). The park is open from 10am to 6pm.
Beautiful gardens by the river Avon. A relatively secure area to enjoy with the kids. Not keen on the back of the restaurant kitchens etc that back onto one side of the park as children can wonder around there where and doesnt look safe. I would get some proper hedges up or fence around that area as spoils it a bit.
I love this calming place. Next to ghe river eith a good view of the wier and Pultney Bridge. The restrictions on access, either a residents card or pay a couple of quid, keeps place free of the mess and hassle of more open parks. The cafe in the corner is good too.
Honestly… £2 fir the entry and 20p toilet sound funny and nothing more for such a small park with nothing special. Just a little park… I know the hustle is about the view… but still it’s just funny to charge £2 for that. Cheap but funny. Does not cost the time to visit… nothing bad about the park itself but I believe you can spend there 10-15 mins max and can see everything from the top. However, the staff working there are super friendly
Really lovely park, beautiful to see, but it is sad to have to pay to enjoy gardens.
Such a beautiful park! Amazing views and very relaxing. Close to everything. Must visit
Love this place. Used to come as a child then brought my own children as it is a safe peaceful place.
Nice park, you have to pay to use it tho.
Lovely place to visit. But, you need to pay £1.0 if you are not from Bath.
A nice little park in the heart of bath. £1 entry which is a small price to pay. Garden is in fantastic condition credit to the staff who maintain it.
Parade Gardens in Bath is beautiful and serene. It has wonderful views and very central to the Abbey and Roman Baths. If you need a rest from touring Bath and want a bit of nature at the same time, I recommend visiting the gardens. There is a £2 fee to get in which seemed odd and a tad much for a park I still recommend it anyway. Students get in for a £1.
I love coming here, but... could you please fill in the holes? I stepped in one and twisted my ankle and 20 mins later my son did the same further around. Are they empty post holes?
Beautiful gardens, the lovely Jo on the gate was so nice to talk to. We saw a lovely robin feeding her babies and told Jo about it and she was going to put it in their book. Well worth a visit.
great place to get the green and a good view of the architecture around!
Lovely garden in the centre of Bath.Very clean and green and well maintained.
Small gardens not a lot to see. It would have been nicer to see the flowers in full bloom. The entry was free on my visit.
Not a lot to do here, sit on a bench...gardens not in great condition, glad I didnt have to pay to get in. Cafe was not open.
is one of my favorite parks in Bath. Very relaxing and close to the main attractions. Perfect if you want to enjoy a bit of nature in the center of Bath
Beautiful and relaxing place even if the weather wasnt that good.
A nice, tranquil part of Bath to see the Horseshoe Weir and have excellent views down the river. Free entry in the colder months also as we might not have gone in otherwise - would have been a shame to have not!
Serene park with an amazing view of the Pulteney Bridge.
Lovely garden with plenty of benches and some interesting statues. The park is open to locals from the spring to winter for free, otherwise there is a charge, and then November to spring it is free entry. The park offers some lovely views of the Pulteney bridge and is known to host events such as the Jane Austen parade gathering and musical events
Are they beautiful gardens? Yes, indeed they are. I visited whilst under a lockdown, and hence managed to go in without being charged.Presently, once more, they lock the gates and charge for entry to anyone who wants to visit. Now, if you ask me if theyre worth paying for? No, absolutely not. The only gardens worth paying for in the area are Bowood, these most certainly are not.
I love Parade Gardens! Wander rounds the winding pathways admiring the plants, flowers and statues all year round. Well worth the £2 to non-residents and if you live in Bath your Discovery card gets you in free. The council "parks & gardens" department are so skilled at their themed flower beds in the summer - always worth a photograph. The open air cafe is open most of the year & is perfect for meeting friends for a chat in the fresh air - so safe. Great to take family too - room for little ones to run on the grass. Service at the Parade cafe tends to be a little slow at busy times but the cakes, icecream and drinks are worth the short wait. Whats not to love?
Wow, a beautiful gem. Peaceful and well maintained, worth a visit, but shoosh dont tell everyone 😉 entrance fee totally justified for this PRIVATELY OWNED garden, and man at entrance very chatty and explained history of garden 😀
Beautiful park and perfect for relaxing.
Beautiful gardens well maintained offering wonderful views. Man on the gate was cheerful and pleasant. Entry fee reasonable and well worth it. However not 5 stars as toilets inside you have to pay to use which is ridiculous as you already have to pay an entry fee to get in, should be free.
Always a relaxing place to visit with well maintained gardens and small cafe on site. Lots of space and located on the riverside. Worth paying the entrance fee. Located close to main attractions in town centre.
Beautiful park in the heart of Bath. There are many benches for a nice sit and relax. You pay £2 to get in, despite it is small park!
Had our wedding photos taken here. Absolutely Stunning garden.Did have to pay to enter, however after being told the backstory of the garden I understood why.I feel the reasoning for paying should be written on a sign before you enter and just after you enter.
Great experience. The park is beautiful and kept wonderfully clean, it makes an amazing trip for the summer. The rivers and architecture are also amazing and is a sight to see for a few days as you explore the ancient historical sights. Good for a family day out too.
Very pretty gardens. I can see why the gentry class went there to meet potential partners. Picturesque. A must see.
Very peaceful place to relax with famiky and friends. Walking along the canal was nice and the weather on a sunny day makes the place look beautiful. Lots of flies but worth the trip.
Quite a pretty garden, nice statues and very well maintained. Just didn’t like that we needed to pay to get in. You can see the whole garden in a 15 min walk.Visited in August 2018
Great venue for engagement and wedding photography whatever the weather. Theres a classical covered portico which provides shelter in bad weather and makes for an attractive backdrop of Bath stone for group or individual photos.
Its a nice Garden to Walk around if you want some peace and quiet away from the busy city and want a pretty view, its just annoying you have to pay to get in although I do understand it costs to up keep the park. There are also some toilets in the park that cost 20p.
These gardens are nearby the train station and is worth having a look when visiting Bath! Its up to you if you are keen to enter the gardens and walk in. Looks nice, as can be seen in the photos!
