Beautiful area of native bush. Lots of bird life and ancient trees. The boardwalk track is fantastic through the wetter areas. I’m not sure if you can access the lake from anywhere else. It looks like farmland on the Western side. We used the main entrance at Buller Road. No obvious track down to the lake itself which is a shame. Very cool but somewhat neglected gem. No dogs.

Nice place some trees over growing the walkways human feces and toilet paper where the parking is beautiful place thank you so much I will come back for another visit grandchildren

Much of the walk has boardwalks so the going is easy for the most part. Some steeper parts too. The gem is the lake at the end of the shorter walk. I have not completed the longer walk yet, which I understand does not end closer to the lake

Really easy and nice stroll to two lookout spots showing the nearby lake! A few steep parts but the path is easy to follow and doesn’t take long to complete.

Another lovely short walk in the Levin area. However last time I walked through it was very overgrown. For those collecting kiwi guardian medals this is an easy and exciting collect for the children. There are board walks, lakes to look over, and a Nikau stand to walk through. Lots of seating for rests, and a couple of picnic areas too. 4 stars gor the walk...only 2 at present due to how over grown it is.

Nice short leisurely stroll, although a little steep in a couple of places. Only did the shorter walk to first lookout (~10mins each way).Will maybe do the longer walk next time Im down that way and not hobbling around on an injured foot.Beautiful native bush either side of pathway/boardwalk although quite a few weedy patches in the open areas.Pleasant views across the lake in the distance. Just started to rain as I headed back to car so sheltered under a tree till it passed a few minutes later.No toilets available and an unmarked cul-de-sac for parking if you were wondering 🙂🌳🌦️
