Papa Joe's in Zürich (Kreis 7)

i came here when i was 6 years old, they have the bloody best apple juice, my brother and i loved this place

You know what, for the first meal of the evening it was actually quite OK.

Wanted to order 3x B52, service said they cant because the bar is closed, 2 min after I ordered 3 Cocktails... so i settled for 3 Melon "shots". (Which arent less complicated to make).Dont try the melon "shots". They tasted like normal juice!When I order a shot, I expect a shot where you actually notice the alcohol, so 7 .- for that is just absurd. Won t come again!!!

Tasty food, but not too much space in restaurant.

Quick and friendly service. Not spicy, borderline bland. "assorted American beer" turned out to be "we only have corona".

This restaurant serves very basic burgers and Tex-Mex food.+ Staff is friendly and welcoming- Very expensive for what it is $$$- Quality is not amazing. I had the vegetable fajitas, and the vegetables were clearly frozen, not fresh. There was no protein, and this seemed to be the case for the other vegetarian dishes listed on the menu. The dish - re-heated veg, tortillas, and small cups of assorted toppings - was CHF 32.- Cocktails are ok but not more than that.I wouldnt go here again. You can find better burgers, better drinks, and much better Mexican food elsewhere in Zurich, and for cheaper.

7 CHF for a small bottle of water …. REALLY ? Not even at the Dolder … beer was flat and the ribs didn’t taste good.. cherry on top , they didn’t tell us that the table was reserved after so we had to leave earlier than expected

Papa Joes a known place for all.The mixed plate was quite good. To share for two, it is totally enough. The service was very busy and the drinks came be lated, then when we eat.. otherwise it was good.

Im not sure about any other services they provide but this review is about their food. What they sell is a joke. I do not think even they have a Chef at the kitchen coz food was very primitive yet it expensive as hell. I feel pity for people who go there with empty stomach. You better spend your money at McDonald for food (still it’s sucks specially Zurich brancheventually we food Türkisch dorna shop to get some decent food for the second time since our stomachs was unsatisfied 😞

What a great discovery ! The food is just amazing, and the prices not super high.

Went multiple times in Zurich, at papa Joes, but this was the last. Tonight I had dinner, a 80 CHF tab and at the end I asked for payment by card. The waiter ironically said, that I can tip with card and waited for me to give him a tip. I tipped everytime more than 15-20% when I was there, but asking for tips is just lack of respect, and rude. Not going again.

Not bad, there is a limited selection of drinks, and the dishes are nothing special. When the place was near to closing time, the waiter was very impolite when letting us know that we should leave.

Avoid - mediocre. 30F for a burger with a non-brioche bun is a slap in the face. Menu filled with generic unappealing american meals.

Staff was very unfriendly and cold.We arrived and asked if they had a table available and the waiter was already sarcastic, that they are full in reservations-at that point, the restaurant was basically empty, only 1 table was occupied at that point, but i wouldnt doubt it might have been booked for an hour later, but this is not a way to respond to your customers anyhow.Then, after waiting quite long, he said we can "use" that table but...."eat fast"(!!!These are from the funniest, and sadest, things I have heard of lately.Unfortunately, we did sit and had dinner there, I was not enthusiast with the food, but this kind of service should not be tolerated!P.S. and for the record, the tables inside were still free when, after 2 hours, we were leaving the restaurant!I wish people (ownerscould really understand the importance of how to choose your staff.. even if you have the greatest or the worst food, a waiter is the first "picture" of a store who can either welcome in more happy clients or make them leave disappointed

Place is run by crooks and jokers. Very poor service. I ordered a serving of onion rings and expected at least a decent number of onion rings. What I got was 8 onion rings and more than half a cone of nacho chips. Would never come back to a place where they squeeze profits from customers.

It was tasty but very crowded. Generally ok but the prices are not cheap (specially for what you get). Stuff was fast and kind.

Food is alright...nothing special. What i didnt like were two things....after 2 hours we were brought the tab without asking as they had reserved the table and we had to move to the bar food and all, the other was that the cocktails were not really that good, they have no if any alcohol in them...Piña Colada was more like a Pineapple Milkshake, although i have to say staff was friendly and vibe was nice

Food quality is meh but fun environment appropriate for tex-mex with drinks. If not going with high expectations, you can have fun. Not sure if it is anything to write home about.

Worst ribs i have ever eaten. Required surgical extraction from the bone with something far sharper than the steak knife i had. No kids menu so we had to pay 30 euros for our 5 year old sons burger. The whole menu was massively overpriced and the quality of food was dreadful. Our food came out far too quickly to even dream that it might be fresh. Would not go back and would never recommend. The only 2 stars go to the friendly waiting staff who were not responsible for the horrible food.

Great place if you like rushed service, food that’s either over-cooked to harden ash or under-cooked to a wet slop. It’s basically low-quality American franchise restaurant food at high Swiss prices. Just the worse of both worlds. Good location though.

Had chili spare ribs and BBQ spare ribs. Chili sauce wasnt really spicy but the chili garnish was hot-spicy which I liked. I think the one who doesnt like spicy food also can order chili spare ribs (but dont try the garnish.Recommend to order their sweet potato fries as a side 🍟

Loved the Onion Rings and Chicken Nuggets today at Papa Joes!My friend had BBQ Spare Ribs, which looked delicious too.

Papa Joes is a very cosy restaurant with an American feel.The staff were very nice and very helpful when I requested for ideas on the drinks and food since it was my first time in Switzerland.The food (honey ribs, spare ribs and frieswere very well made and they were ready in less than 5 minutes which surprised me because normally i have to wait for at least 15 minutes in most restaurants.Like everything else in the Zurich, I found it to be a bit pricy for someone travelling on a budget.

Good burgers and tex mex restaurant in the old town of zurich. The place is big has 2 floors with nice interior design. We had the big appetizer sampler .

Went there for a birthday party. Party was fun but the food was nothing special.However, the restaurant has a very interesting fan / cooling system installed. If you are interested in engineering go have a look at the crazy belt and gear system in the basement. They will also turn it on for you if you ask.Staff is friendly.

Was there yesterday and Im completely disappointed. I remember this place since couple years ago when it was one of my favourite. Food its not tasty, over burned (chicken smelled with old fried oil, and obviously was frozen), salad full of wierd smell oil. Dirty tables and toilets. Rude stuff.After main dish we were in mood for more cocktails and dessert, but nobody even come over to our table. Needed ask couple times to bring us receive (place wasnt full or busy).Only tasty thing about this place are cocktails.I wont back there anymore.

The food is good. The waiters are nice. The menu is a mix of ribs, fajitas, wings, quesadillas, and steak. The restaurant space has a tex-mex decor.The food is a bit pricey.

I liked this place, they have an interesting menu and a upbeat atmosphere. I had the fajitas and they were good. Price was about right for Zürich and the staff was friendly. I would recommend making a reservation, without one you might have trouble getting a table. Some culture differences are, wait staff are paid a full wage and dont expect a big tip just a round up of the bill total sometimes you get a bad one- so far my experience has been they are better than most back home that work for tips, bottled water is not cheep but tap water is usually free and just as good but you have to ask for it specially (seriously look up how pure the tap water in Switzerland is).
