Super tasty sandwiches just behind the cathedral! The staff is really well organized and the chef is absolutely great with all the tourists. Entering there will grant you with a cheese and meat tasting… then this is up to you to select the bread you want, as well as the cheese & meat you just tried + 3 different vegetables. They will then toast it and in quick minutes you’ll be eating a great typical Italian panini at an affordable price. Recommended!!

“Taste it then make it” is the motto at Panini Toscani! Small shop focusing on quality sandwiches. Taste a variety of local cheeses, and three local cold cut meats. Then select your preferences and build your sandwich, adding fresh veggie options such as eggplant, tomato, sun dried tomatoes, and arugula. They even help get your seat in the plaza after you order. A gem in the historical center with outstanding service by Benjamin and his team.

An absolute pleasure to be a guest. The emtrance and restaurant is as small as it is authentic and amazing.

Genuinely the best sandwich of my life. I have recommended this to every person I’ve met so far who is going to Florence. You can sample the meat and cheese before you buy it. Seriously try it it’s only €7.

This little shop is tied for the beat restaurant I’ve eaten at during 10 days in Italy. It lived up to its rave reviews. A kind older man greets you on the sidewalk and invites you in and then an employee lets you sample the different meats and cheeses so you can build the panini to your liking. Then a space is cleared for you outside and the panini is brought out after being toasted. All this for only 7 euros per sandwich. With such a bullet-proof business concept and great customer service, this little place deserves success for years to come.

Fast, delicious panini. Enjoyed the tasting experience to select your meat (3 choicesand cheese (4 choices). Also appreciated being able to pay after your order (most places, we’ve had to wait and wait to pay and leave when done).

Fantastic service, beautiful food, the owner was outside and clearly explained the process: you go inside, taste the three different meats and four different cheeses before making your sandwich. You pick your bread and your toppings. Pay, then grab a table, and they bring your panino right to you. Fast, efficient, but we didn’t feel rushed. Can’t recommend this place enough

You can’t go wrong with a panini and beer from here. They have 2 breads, 3 meats, 4 cheeses, and tons of veggies to choose from. They let you taste the meat and cheese before you order which is a nice touch. Prices are good, portions large, and food delicious.

The best panini shop in Florence. I’ve discovered the shop by accident three years before and was very excited to come again.They offer different samples of the meat and cheese, then one picks one of each, then one picks three vegetable options and finally they toast it. It was so delicious so we have had panini there every morning in our second visit.Very very friendly and nice staff especially the old man with sun glasses 😎

Id expect somewhere so close to the cathedral to be moderately rubbish. But you know, very tasty indeed. Even better if you can spare a couple of minutes to taste the cheeses and meats before you order. Also pretty affordable for the sandwich.

Possibly the best Panini I’ve ever had and I eat them all the time. They’ll let you try their unique Italian meats and cheeses and then you get to choose which you’d like on your panini. I highly recommend adding the spicy sauce (not all that spicy but amazingly flavorfuland the vinegar peppers. A bonus is that the owner and staff are super friendly and helpful.

Wonderful panini just beside the duomo. The owner will let you try different types of meat and cheeses, and then you decide how you want to make your own panini. And just as the owner said, trust him, no menu needed (though they have a menu). Of course it’s tasty!

Really authentic paninis for the price and extremely good service staff. Tasting before ordering is allowed for the meat and cheese too. Only catch is that it is always so crowded with so little seats you probably have to sit elsewhere.

Small nondescript panini shop amidst a sea of pasta restaurants and bistros in the Piazza del Duomo. As the name implies, they make paninis. We tried three salamis and cheese to go along with them before deciding. Fun fact - you can only choose one type of meat and cheese. You cannot ask for two or all three of the salamis in your panini. Regardless of what choice you make, it will be good.. You also get to choose the type of bread (multigrain, focaccia, ciabattaand veggies (think arugula, sun dried tomatoes, eggplant, grilled peppers, etc.to add to your panini. My panini was crunchy, had a good amount of spiciness, and the meat and cheese were a good combo. I forgot to mention that they toast the panini too! They have beer, wine and spritz (of course)! The meal was wonderful and gave the much needed energy to climb the 414 steps of the Campanile di Giotto. 😖☠️

As far as Im concerned, this is a MUST visit in Florence. Excellent customer service, 2/3 employees speak great English, and the food is incredible. They have a quick and easy process too. They offer you samples of the meats and cheeses, then you pick one of each, then you pick 3 vegetable options, they toast it, and youre on your way. It was delicious and I ended up going twice!

I sat down at your table wanting to order a cocktail at 7:50 PM on a Tuesday evening. (Your tables are connected with no dividers with the Bistro Wine Bar next doorYour crew seemed more anxious about closing and I was asked to move to another table. Well, we moved one table over and the Bistro Wine Bar immediately served us. I would be surprised if your business makes it one year more with this attitude. You guys will need to compete with your surrounding businesses, their better evening hours, and their better customer service if you guys are going to survive keeping your doors open.

Was delicious! Great location, cool taste testing, and ability to make own sandwich was very cool. Sandwich was really good, just a tad dry, so some olive oil would be a great addition to the bread!

Such a great spot for quick bite. They provide free samples of the meat before you build your panini. The great variety of bread, meat, cheese, and topping provides hundreds of different options. Staff were all very friendly and speak very good English.

Host made sure every party had a seat (whether at a table or on wine boxesand brought out your freshly toasted panini to enjoy right by the beautiful cathedral.

Amazing Panini! It is located right next to the duomo and The panini‘s only cost 7€. The shop owner will let you try different cuts of meat and cheese and then you can choose which one you like in your panini. Then you can choose what vegetables go in your Panini. The size of the Panini is quite large so I will definitely fill you up. The panini tastes delicious, and warm. You can eat it on the go, there are seats outdoors as well. Absolutely recommend!!!

Very friendly!! Amazing paninis! It was my husbands first time in Italy and he was not familiar with the meats or cheeses, they took the time to let him sample the meats and cheeses. Very patient and friendly. He has not stopped talking about how much he loved the food. He cant wait to go back just to eat here again.

Panini Toscani a small store beside the Duomo that serves up some really good sandwiches for a great price. The shop is small and quite popular, so it can be quite crowded and quite confusing as where to begin. But you start of at the very back, single file due to the space and they let you sample different types of meats and cheese before they start your panini order. There are also limited tables and chairs outside for seating.Every staff member was great and super helpful, except for the guy that was letting us sample the cheese and meats. He was one of the tallest staff, possible one of the owner. He cracked jokes and meant to be "funny", but it was towards only to a selected few that he chose to be friendly .During the sampling, they label their cheese from 1 to 4 and when a girl (in front of measked what type of cheese she was eating -he refused to answer then egged on another male customer to laugh at her when she took long to decide. When it was my turn for sampling, he easily chatted up the older couple standing next to me, but pretty much ignored me for the rest of the duration when I asked a question. It was very odd and awkward to say the least and I suspect others might encounter and feel the same way with that particular person.Overall, they serve a great product in a very busy touristy location that is affordable and worth trying despite the bizarre service at the beginning.

PHENOMENAL! Best place to try a great panini sandwich! Go in and ask for Benjamin! Half Italian half American owner! Get him to give you a taste of the meats( salamis and proccuto hamand the cheeses before he makes the perfect sandwich! If you don’t know what to get, ask for his special, it is to die for! If you went to the cathedral and you didn’t stop here, might as well not have come to Firenze!!

Great concept: all sandwiches cost 7€. You choose 1. Type of bread; 2. Type of cured meat; 3. Type of cheese; 4. I have been studying abroad in Florence for over two months now and I do not know why I waited so long to try this spot! The workers were very friendly and helpful. You get to sample the meats and cheeses they offer before building your sandwich and they were all so delicious it was hard to make a decision by the end of it. Such a great spot and will definitely be returning to build some more panino combinations. Check it out!

AMAZING! You would think that it would be a tourist trap being so close to the Duomo, but it is not. IT IS EXCELLENT!!!You go inside and taste 3 different types of meats and 3 different types of cheeses. You select you bread from 5 choices and pick your veggies. The very friendly gentleman makes your panini and you enjoy.No frills, just good & wholesome ingredients. They also have a decent wine selection for a little spot.I wish I could give 6 stars for the best panini of my life!

This place blows all the other panini shops out of the water! The owner was standing outside when we were heading in and told us to sample all the meats and cheeses before deciding what we want. This is such a brilliant way to experience the restaurant and allow you to have exactly what you want on your panini. All the meats and cheeses were fantastic so I do not think you could make a wrong choice. I opted for the olive bread and it was so smooth with the meat. They toast your panini after adding all the toppings you select. I would highly recommend this place

Build your custom panini by choosing the bread, one meat choice and one cheese choice ( you taste all 4 meats and all 4 cheeses to help you decideand whichever vegetable toppings you want and the sandwich comes out perfectly toasted. Very gracious owners. We found this place at the end of trip which was unfortunate because we wouldve gone back again!

Great place for a quick bite.Made to order wonderful sandwiches, but only after you try the cheeses and meats on offer. Then you choose the toppings. Delicious and very reasonably priced. You can sit outside at the nice little tables just a few feet from the Florence Duomo or takeaway.

My daughter lived in Florence for 6 months, two years ago. When we brought her back to tour she insisted we had to have a sandwich here. I didn’t understand why until today – the Panini was amazing! They have you sample the three choices of meat and four choices of cheese before you order. Then you choose your bread and other toppings before they toast it. It’s simple but amazing! We ate just outside the Panini shop in the shade of the Duomo! It’s a must have lunch when you visit Florence!

6 euros for an AMAZING custom made sandwich. As many other reviewers have noted, there’s a meat and cheese tasting too before you decide what exactly to include in your sandwich. Vegetarians can skip the meat and get two cheese and unlimited veggies to add on top. Meat eaters get one meat, one cheese, and up to 4 veggies on top. Lovely outdoor seating with shade and a view of the Duomo.
