Palmer Gold Coast - Golf course in Gold Coast, Australia
Not very good greens were not cut to edges no sand in most bunkers bare patches on greens.
Played here in September 2022 and enjoyed the round. Having read previous reviews I was expecting the extremely poor condition, but still playable with a great layout. The front nine an Aussie woodland course with very few places you can see another fairway. The back nine much more open and resort style. Holes 16, 17 and 18 just spectacular. If only maintenance was improved.
Horrible place owned by a horrible human. Youd think a billionaire could look after their assets properly given they dropped hundreds of millions on a failed election campaign but alas.Do yourself a favour, go elsewhere.
Always opens early… check it out.
Really nice golf course, loved every hole... Until we met the greens
Some fairways were damaged and repairs are being done.
Very accomodating and helpful staff, our entire party had a great experience. Thanks!
Great spot for a function, we had our daughters 21st there and it was perfect, we supplied our own security, but the bar area was good, the only down side was one of the on tap beers tasted funny ( maybe taps not cleaned? and some of the finger food was dry, for the amount paid for the platters expected better quality food, but overall was a great night, Thank you to Tim and staff the were great.
Really disappointed, layout nice but course quite poor from lack of maintenance even allowing for the excess rain latelyUsed hired equipment (okand frustrated with very little distance markers or distance infoLots of mud and very few ball washersMost on course buildings look neglected and poor condition tooThe lack of players on a Sunday said it all while other nearby course were fullFees are no expensive but don’t deserve any moreIf they spent more effort on the course it could be very good like the old daysI won’t be back unless they fix it
So sad to see the decline of this course. We played here 30-7-22. It needs a big injection of money to get it back up to scratch.
This “could be” one of the best courses in the country but they need to invest in the course it’s starting to look tired and run down. The greens are dry and rough even after all the rain you’d expect this if we were in a drought. It’s a good course but they need to spend some money.
Flew up from Melbourne with a group to play at a handful of courses, and this was by far the worst.. drink carts were non existent until the second last hole, and when they arrived the girls were really rude which left a sour taste. Course was completely waterlogged, which is forgivable, but for a social game not worth the dollars.
Good layout but this course needs some serious money spent on it to get back to what it once was. A lot of drainage, bunker and green issues. Too dear for me at $93.50 pp with cart.Positives- layout, holes 10, 17 & 18 are great, location.Negs- maintenance, pro shop, no drink cart or service at half way, price, drainage, cart paths need fixing.
Loved the golf coarse. Staff were fantastic..the club house is a disgrace.
The fairways were good, greens are half the size they used to be and the bunkers have chunks of bitumen in them (chunked my wedge on #7 greensidethe proshop looked like it had been robbed and the food options in the restaurant that were on special for advertised price were pathetic. This course has gone to ruin. No wonder you you can just walk in and get a tee time on the day.
Played the course yesterday with Hotshots social golf - shotgun start ! Blue skys and a lush green course its a great lay out and even though it was recovering from heavy rain earlier in the week pleasantly surprised with great fairways - bunkers in play and greens true I a little slow ! A quick and enjoyable round with good company ! Enjoyable day 👍
This is used to be a quality golf course & location. Overpriced golf on a course that clearly needs upkeep. Nearly $100 for a round, greens in terrible condition, terrible signage, tee boxes in disrepair. Very disappointing experience. To top it off, we had lunch in the restaurant after a disappointing round & one of our party received food poisoning. Contacted the club, inadequate response. Much better quality & value courses on the Gold Coast. We wont be attending this course again.
$83 for 9 holes in cart. Ridiculously overpriced for a course in disrepair. Every green has a half dead laid turf surrounding it if youre lucky, or just a moat of sand as the perimeter, making it unplayable. No food or drinks available completing on a sat afternoon. Neglected course. Daylight robbery.
Great track... the fallen trees everywhere on the sides of the holes take away from the aesthetics though.
For the price they charge for a round with a buggy its not on par, buggies are very basic no gps no ice for your drinks, the course is very tired drastically needs a refresh all over and the greens are terrible. Nice design and layout and some holes are quite challenging Probably was a lovely course once upon a time sadly no more.I suggest new greenkeepers. Sadly 2 stars but definitely has potential for 5.
Excellent golf course and very helpful staff. Fairways and greens were in top shape. Recommend to hire a buggy as very hilly.
Greens in good condition. Fairways lush. Could be a great course but needs more work on tee boxes and the areas off the fairways. Clubhouse is run down. Our golf cart malfunctioned and almost ran down a hill and crashed before I managed to jump in a apply the brake.
Good layout, in good condition. Firm, fast greens. Undulating front nine, and one uphill hole at 16.
This feedback will probably fall on deaf ears. The course has always been pretty but it is in urgent need of TLC. Beautiful day but this course is like a ghost town. $82.50 is a ridiculous green fee vs course condition. Empty ball cleaners, taps not working. Started playing this course back in 1995. So sad to see what it has become. For $82.50, play the Glades.
Possibly the best golf course on the Gold coast that is accessible to the general publicNot cheap to play though and general maintenance is suffering from the frugality of the ownerthe fairways and greens are in good condition while the course layout and design ensures the average golfer needs to have a good stock of spare ballsReward yourself and have a round
Good course. Great conditions. Greens were some of the hardest Ive played but enjoyable nonethsless
I played this course yesterday, this course should not have been open . Robina Woods used to be one of nicest courses on the GC , unfortunately it’s gone down in a big way ,and it’s shows .Seriously folks DO NOT waste $80 green fees for this so called golf course , there are plenty of much higher standard courses to choose from.Never again.
Could be such a fantastic course if it had a little TLC!Ive heard people refer to it as one of the best courses on the coast... but it was disappointing.
Played there yesterday, course was wet as was expected due to rain but it was still very playable and except for 9th tee were mown and in good Nic.Greens however were like putting on corrugated iron, ball spent more time in the air than rolling on the green. The Club Sandwich was excellent and well worth its $19.00 price with Chips.Course however is not worth paying the $80 considering quality and price of courses nearby.
Nice course and reasonable price with cart. A great challenge. A few extra signs are needed and I don’t understand why there’s no map of the hole on each tee. I know where to play now. I did expect the drinks cart around the course a lot more often. Played 2 games in a week and saw it once all up. Very surprised the pro shop was virtually empty. I am looking forward to going back though.
Coarse had a nice amount of challenge to it, Greens were super quick. Was put off a bit by the greens keeper chasing us on the ride on mower for 5 holes
The Range at Robina has improved significantly over the past 3 years. Incorporation of a 100 and in pitching green, with 3 pins. Range has meterage signs and bullseye targets. Future developments are in progress. The existing Putting green is to be redeveloped as an executive short game facility. The Green will be approx 3 times larger, will include a pot bunker and the chipping area will utilise the majority of the surrounds to hone your short game skills.
Greens well kept , difficult to navigate first few holes due to lack of signage. Enjoyed our experience :)
Very beautiful course..loved it..my first day playing here and I hit 85..I was so struggling on the first 9 because my garmin didnt have the course in it..and I have to hit and pray at the same time..cheers for the great work making this as one of my favourite courses..cheers
If youre not a local then you will need your GPS device with you. Distance markers are a mystery?? In pretty good condition and always a challenge off the tee. Unfortunately over watered on the day, every fairway was muddy....
Would be 5 stars but the place closed too early (4pmso we couldnt have a drink after our round of golf!Played 18 holes here in late December 2019 and the course was looking lush and green. WHERE ARE THEY GETTING THE WATER? Fairway grass was soft and nearly NO divot marks! Tee boxes in good condition too. Greens were rolling smooth.Few of the bunkers were in need of work, while others super soft and perfect sand.Food was Ok. I had a beef burger and chips but it did take a while to get it (30mins and there was only 4 others getting food at the time), so we actually missed our tee off time.Carts are OK, would be better with in built GPS to know where hazards and trouble is on the course.
Always a great day out.at this remarkable course. One of the best on the GC. Great cause too. Playing Ambrose for a Charity Golf Day. Only way to spend a Friday.
Wow, this course is nearly fully back to it was used to be! The greens were quick and smooth, fairways were like green carpets.I know it’s tight budget to keep up the business, but I see they doing the best to keep the golf course is beautifully maintained. Definitely come back to play again soon and more often.I would like to say thank you to course maintenance team for their great effort.
Played there today. Website, and huge sign outside the entrance, clearly states $69.95 for 18 holes. When you enter the proshop to pay, you are told it is $79.95 with a cart! False advertising..... The course is nice, but needs a lot of work. Thousands of dead palm fronds everywhere . We wont go back.
Great place for a round of golf. The course is in really good condition at the moment. The only thing I found strange, and frankly quite annoying at this time of year, was that most of the on course drinking fountains werent working. So make sure you bring plenty of water.
Absolutely back to its best since i played last. The only down side was several greens under heavy reconstruction, otherwise everything was in top condition and the price of the round will have me returning soon enough.
Not sure how many stars. The course was okay. A bit run down but still very playable. The Club House needs a lot of TCL. Looking very tired & dowdy. So having written this have given it 3 stars....
A beautiful course, that is very much neglected. Many countryside courses are managed with more care... Hoped for a lovely experience, but could not help not noticing almost collapsing bunkers, plenty of dropped branches just side of the course, barely maintained walkways, broken drinking fountains, very minimal level of hospitality.A beautiful golf course that made us very sad...
The greens have been renovated so are still in poor condition dont come till theyre fully recovered also the Proshpp is probably one of the smallest shops Ive ever seen.
Ill always play here when im on the Gold Coast. It offers a range of holes where you actually need think about where to place your golf ball unlike many of its counterparts in the area. Terrific value for money.
Filmed a wedding here on August 26 and it was an amazing location. Lovely vintage chapel and reception/function room was beautiful. The staff at both the chapel and reception were the nicest I have seen in a long time
Its a lovely place to sit for lunch. The barman was friendly and helpful. Food and drinks were well priced but we did think that the food took a long time to come out considering we were the only people eating. The food was OK. Nothing special. Probably wont go back for food though sorry.
Played Palmer Gold Coast (Robina Woods15/2/17.Very picturesque course. Reminiscent of Brookwater but was designed many years before.Course was in very good condition.Bear in mind this is a very tough, unforgiving course if you dont hit it straight.A really nice surprise.THANKS CLIVE PALMER!!!!**** Rating of the course, clubhouse & staff 4/5.Rating of the range 2/5- so sad to see the previous golf academy site in a bad state. Messy, disorganized & dingy pro shop, crap everywhere, grass tees were awful.Someone needs to take some pride in the range & tidy the place up.
I havent been into the club lately but I have played golf there. The course has a great layout with the front nine especially being quite tight and tricky. The greens can get super fast which can make putting almost impossible. There are usually divots all over the place and the bunkers are not raked often. A friend who was a member there said the other people who play dont fix divots or take the bunkers but the staff dont have much to work with because they dont have enough money.
Great course. Very tight off the tee, and plenty of trouble awaits. The greens are fast and very rarely will you have a straight putt, but they roll great. Really interesting layout with lots of variety. The bunkers are probably the only real let down. Otherwise a great challenging course.
