Very amazing and delightful service from the team on Saturday afternoon! The best wine I’ve ever had! (I drink a lot of itthe outside seating really took the cake for me, who doesn’t love a glass of the finest while baking in the sun! Very good team work really putting a meaning to the saying “teamwork makes the dream work” see you guys in the very near future!!!
Nice setting. With only 4 tables in total the service was slooooow. I would imagine staff challenges.Food came out in wrong order.A slight change to the food didnt go through. With the sun out and staff increases it looks to be a great summer venue.
Id give 4.9 starts out of five if I could.Great team. The food was amazing would highly recommend the tortellini.Wine was lovely and a lovely setting.Only feed back was the menu wasnt any good for kids under 10 but they did okay with fries.....Other than that tiny thing the while experience was very nice.
A part of my Sperm Donation World tour of New Zealand, 4th stop I end up here Great wines, lovely host, good times.
Great wines, lovely atmosphere. Clementine as a cellar manager is phenomenal, really personable and goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and informed during your experience.
We took a group of 23 golfers for winetasting/platters at Palliser Winery. The setting is beautiful and Clementine provided a fantastic experience, sharing her knowledge and passion for Palliser wines. She has a great sense of humour and our group thoroughly enjoyed their time at Palliser. Thanks again Clementine.
Had an amazing tasting and lunch here - thanks so much to our amazing host Zoe for taking care of us!
Amazing wines! Will definitely be back one day.
Beautiful vineyard lunch with delicious food and lovely wines combined with great service. I totally recommend this place!
Having enjoyed a wine tasting at Palliser before, we wanted to try out Nara at Palliser on the next visit. The Pork and Leek dumplings were delicately flavoured, the mushroom dumplings superb and we loved the rocket salad with goats cheese. While we appreciated the suggested wine matches, we both selected a wine we hadnt tried before, and one that we had. A very enjoyable experience on a beautiful day.
My favourite winery experience in Martinborough so far. The food by Nara was incredible (highly recommend the sliders, so yum!and the service was really friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back, thank you so much!
Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing wine. I love it here!!!
Delightful afternoon out - lunch was delicious@ We shared the lamb hummus, the salmon pate and the panna cotta with a variety of wines. Will definitely be back! thanks!
Great experience. Beautiful setting, tasty food sourced locally. Great wine recommendations and great service. Had a really great time.
Wonderful experience with the food ….Nara Food Truck, and the wine was awesome. Would like to make a special mention of our Waiter who had a great knowledge of the wines in NZ and the local ones as well. And a great grasp of the food being served. Will definitely come again.
Beautiful venue. Delicious food with Nara pop up and exceptional service with wonderful wine.
Lovely lunch. Beautiful food, lovely surroundings and great wine. The staff were lovely and helpful.
Great setting and atmosphere just the service is a big letdown , not as friendly staff as the other vineyards and everything requires a booking
While they close at 5.00pm the food finishes at 4.00pm.The waitress was very helpful but for $30 the tasting flight of 3 wines was over priced compared to the other 3 wineries we went to. The pours were small, maybe 50-60ml, so you you would be better off having a glass of wine each and sharing that. The wine itself was ok.
Beautiful wines and lovely staff who know there wines. Its a must to visit but pre book just to make sure you can get in
Palliser always wonderful. Food from Nara this Summer is lovely. Service is superb, the setting always feels refined and laid back.
The place was awesome. Great food, wine and excellent staff. The pulled Lamb was a big highlight for me. I would highly recommend
Fresh, imaginative, delicious food, superbly professional as well as friendly people looking after us and bliss wine to taste across a rich range of varietals. My favourite winery to visit for lunch in Martinborough!
I organised a Christmas lunch at Palliser Estate for my department on December 5th. It was only the third day of the traffic light system but all communications from the manager, Clementine, was clear and organised so we knew what we needed to do to meet the expectations of the Orange level. Our entire experience was excellent with incredible service, food, and wine. We ordered the cauliflower and carrot salads with added fried chicken, Thai calamari, lamb tacos, and fried chicken sliders. All of it was delicious and our only regret was that we werent able to order another cauliflower salad as they were all sold out.I would wholeheartedly recommend Palliser Estate and will definitely be going again.
Quality wine and food truck lunch under the eaves in the courtyard. A perfect easy Sunday.Photo of roasted aubergine, bulga wheat moroccon salad with fried chicken addition.
Great wine Great service. Great staff. Started the wine trail here and went back to finish the experience. This and Poppies stood head and shoulders above the rest
Excellent wines and a very informative cellar door host!! We are in love with the Chardonnay and the Pinot Gris took us by surprise!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the informative tasting of the current five wines, and a sixth was offered and gladly accepted when my wife asked the difference between a Pinot Gris and a Reisling.... ended up buying both. Lol
Wonderful experience at their Friday night Sunset Sessions (music + wine + food). My husband and I were so impressed by the warmth and hospitality from all of the staff working. The only complaint - it’s too far from my home! Haha. Will be back soon. Thanks for a great night Palliser 🍷✨
Beautiful clean and modern areas with lovely wines. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff too. Lovely food in their restaurant.
What a great place to spend time sipping on wine and cheese. Great wine tasting experience and bought 6 bottles, then sat down on the lawns with our Rose and cheese - very enjoyable. Make it your first stop in Martinborough
We had a beautiful spring afternoon at Palliser Estate. The team were very accomodating, fitting us in for a tasting session. We loved the time spent with the lovely Clementine in the cellar door tasting a selection of wines and enjoying the outlook - and then the hard choice of deciding which wines to buy to take home! Thank You for making our first trip to Martinborough so memorable.
Out of the many wineries in Martinborough Ive visited this one is my favourite. The wines are superb, the atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are incredible.
Great cellar door team, very welcoming. This is a popular place, so best to visit morning or afternoon for wine tasting; and avoid the crowds. But... if you are hungry, high quality place for lunch. Not expensive, and very tasty lunch options. Booking recommended
Fantastic spot to sit and enjoy a wine. Didnt go into the restaurant but enjoyed some really wine while sitting out in the court yard. Well worth a visit.
As this is on the main road into town Id recommend you make this your first stop. The wine here is fantastic. We did the tasting and were not disappointed, we left with 6 bottles of their wine. The new Rose they have is now my wifes favourite. The lady hosting the tastings was really knowledgeable about the wines and really friendly - forgot her name sorry, from Portland I think. Very highly recommended.
Nice atmosphere, we did the wine tasting (10 NZD per person but you don’t have to pay for it when you buy a bottle of wine), super delicious veggie salad, make sure you order the extra bread, definitely one of the best homemade breads we had so far in New Zealand
Awesome location great for sitting in the garden tasting there wine and platters
What a rip. $10 for tastings which were the smallest pours, no explanation of the wines (just slid a piece of paper describing them). Then charged $5 per head for some average plunger coffee. Would not recommend. So many other lovely wineries in the area.
Not sure what the fuss about this place is. Dont really get the welcoming kiwi vibe from it. I was sober driver so my friends did a tasting. $10 each (most other vineyards are $5 for a tastingand the tiniest pours for tasting glasses. They also charge you $5 for a cup of plunger coffee, which is daylight robbery. A barista made coffee in Wellington would set you back $4.50 most places.Thirdly. their set up is not as scenic as the other vineyards, you dont get to sit among the vineyards as you would at Poppies or Colombo. Rather, you sit on the side which admires a view of the main road! This is one of the first vineyards you pass on way into vineyard country. Dont stop. Keep on driving as there are loads more beautiful, welcoming and generous vineyards further along.
Best Pinot Noir that I ever had! Great experience, thank you!
Great wine tasting experience! We did the private tasting in their underground cellar and it was absolutely stunning. The french lady who served us was wonderful, she was super knowledge and gave us some great insight. I have to say, Pallisers Sav and Pinot Gris were top notch and Ive been to quite a few wineries in Martinborough and I even think their Sav and Pinot Gris hands down beats Poppies!
Read all the favorable reviews about this vineyard so decided to give it a try. Just reached Martinborough and it was the first vineyard we visited. My experience was somewhat different from whats been described. Reached the place around 4.20pm and there were 2 couples there. The counter staff was a French lady. She saw us but averted eye contact with us totally, with no acknowledgement of our presence. We waited about 5-7 mins with still no acknowledgement and decided to leave. There are many more vineyards in Martinborough who welcomed us with open arms. Try the Wine Bank in the centre of town. They have lots of wine for tasting and closed at 7pm. Staff at Wine Bank were fantastic n knowledgeable. Ill give Palliser Wine a miss and will give an objective review of this place to all my sommeliers friends as well. There are many more vineyards here that welcome you with open arms. This is a pity as I believed the cold attitude shown might not be representative of their management. However, management at Palliser still have to be accountable for their staff service attitude.
Poor tasting experience. One will build its own opinion on the taste and quality of wine but I would not recommend to go for a tasting here.As first wine, we were served a sparkling rosé and told that it was known for the refinement of its bubbles. The wine in our glass was not sparkling and when we asked if that was the usual level, we were told that the bottle has been opened in the morning and that made the sparkling diminish rapidly. The rest of the testing went on on the same tone. Very unpleasant experience.
A good selection of wines for tasting and staff were very knowledgeable.
Very nice wines for tasting and a beautiful setting. They dont waive the tasting cost ($5 ppwhen you buy a bottle(slike most do however. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable in wine. We enjoyed our experience.
We didn’t sample any food here but enjoyed sitting outside on the bean bags sipping our wines. Staff were friendly and service was quick. One of the bigger busier wineries in the area
Very good wines. Chardonnay is probably my second favourite in New Zealand after Neudorf Moutere but its also half the price so will probably make this a staple. Tasting excellent with good service. Dropping a star for being the only winery that charges for tasting on top of buying a bottle, but otherwise an excellent winery. Would go again.
Really good selection of wines and friendly knowledgeable staff. On a good day great place to sit outside on a bean bag and take in the sun. Only disappointment is that they don’t waive the tasting fee if you purchase.
Enjoyed their wines, rose and Chardonnay were the nicest. Seems strange that they dont waive the cost of tasting when you buy some wine like this rest of the winerys in New Zealand...
