Busy, modern standby with a patio offering Tuscan pizzas, pastas & Italian entrees, plus a full bar.
It was a mixed bag. Some of the food was good, some didnt really float my partys boat. Despite reservations and quick seating, it took forever to get our food. I appreciate the idea of everything being made from scratch to order (see dietary restriction), but wed forgotten what we ordered by the time the food arrived. For the amount of time and money invested, it needed to be top shelf, not just fairly good. Not bad, but not great. I think they just need more time to iron out the kinks. I think once they do, they will become a staple in the neighborhood. This place has a future, give them another month.
Food (carbonara and eggplant Parmwere good but not great. Decent place for Italian.
Berry breeze drink is so amazing! Our food was delicious and service was wonderful. Thank you for the awesome experience
What a great experience and wonderful food. From the moment i walked the service was impeccable and the food was delicious.Highly recommend
Fantastic place, if you want good fresh pasta this place is the place for it. The kids menu is also a steal!
Everything they make here is from scratch! All the pasta and other dishes were some of the best Italian food Ive had. I had the chicken parmesan and the piece of chicken is quite large and juicy. The pasta was to die for, the noodles were like nothing Ive ever had. The tiramisu was pretty good, but their entrees, pizzas and apps are where they truly shine. Also, to top it off, they have complimentary homemade limoncello shots (21+at the end of your dinner! If you have a big group, make a reservation. They also have outdoor patio dining which looked quite nice!
Easily one of the best places in grand Rapids. Will definitely come back here more .Update : 2 years later and it’s been the only place in Grand Rapids with consistent quality and GOOD food.Update again : It’s gone downhill a little bit probably due to staff turnover and I think they got a new head chef ??? Anyway not as good . Used to be a go to and well.. won’t be anymore. At least not for a while
Add this to your list when you want Italian food. Everything is made from scratch and is amazing! The eggplant was so crispy and delicious. My wife had the mezzaluna with roasted beef short rib sauce. Wow! Don’t sleep on the bruschetta di buratta either. Excellent food!
Nice place. Good Italian menu. Nicely prepared food and not overpriced. We had salmon and gnocchi and chicken. Good house salad and soup. Good wine list. I hadnt been here since the pandemic but am returning soon. This is also a nice option for a young couple (or any ageas the prices arent over the top.
They have some really good foodI had the chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese topped with prosciutto and fresh arugula and I picked creamed corn mixed with goat cheese and roasted brussel sprouts.. soooo yummy guys. As far as customer service it is top notch. They have a real brick pizza oven I think next time Ill try that😜🥰🥰
Had calamari, was cooked perfect, but tasted like a spoonful of salt. Cesar salad was so full of garlic we could barely eat it. My pasta was really good, spirals, chicken, pesto. My wife pasta was clumped, stuck together, and really not what you would expect from an Italian restaurant. To finish we got the lemon bar, it looked NOTHING like the photo, and was ok at best. Server knew nothing about the menu, she said lemon bar had strawberry, it was raspberry. Lots of staff yet slow delivery. Server did keep it water full though.
The pizza, salad and pasta were all absolutely delicious!! Service was excellent Maria directed us to really great choices on the menu!!
One of the best Pizza places around! My partner and I sat at the bar and had no idea what to expect. The cocktails, pizza, and pasta blew us away! The style is Tuscan - roughly 12" pies stretched somewhat thin with a perfect amount of crunch and lightness. The mix of fresh high moisture mozz chunks mixed in with low moisture cheese is a strategy that Im going to take home with me. Five starts - going to be back for happy hour!
Pricy, but quality food the staff here is top notch! Waiters and waitresses were very patient and helpful; not to mention happy to indulge in conversation. A very friendly environment and the oven baked pizza is very good!
The fettuccine is absolutely spectacular! They ground fresh parmesan cheese on top too. The flavors are absolutely spectacular!
Excellent staff and great food! Been a while since we’ve been to a place with service this good. Highly recommended!
Food was fantastic. We had our Amazon one year anniversary tonight. Waitress was fantastic also. Food was on time and great.
We loved our visit to Palio today. Both meals were delicious, the salmon was perfect! If youre thirsty, the strawberry limoncello sangria was really unique and tasty. The service was friendly and fast, and the outdoor patio is nice if the weather permits.
The service was fantastic, as was the sangria. We were slightly disappointed in the apps - the $8 garlic bread was rather bland and we were also hoping for more of a traditional bruschetta, but the Alfredo and marsala dinners were really good.
We loved our experience here! We came for the food and stayed for TJ, our waiter. 10/10 experience. Also, the food was edible & delicious.
Service is great, food is delicious. I love the homemade pasta 🤌🏽
I have been to Palio twice and both experiences have been absolutely incredible. The food is phenomenal. TJ was our server last night and he was so personable and fun. If you havent been here, please come! They are so reasonable priced for a made-from-scratch kitchen as well. I will be back again!
The food was OK, the wine was good. Just be careful to pick your drink specifically or you might get the most expensive wine. Nice date night stop though
We brought my mom and our family in for lunch on Mothers Day and it was fabulous. Our server, TJ, was great and joked right along with our crazy family of 7 teenagers/young adults. The food was delicious! Everyone loved what they ordered. We will be back!
Ambiance: I came here during the evening and the lighting is perfect.Atmosphere: It could get noisier I imagine, but wasnt all that noisy when I ate.Food: the pasta was really good! The noodles were a perfect al dente, and the sauce was creamy and cheesy and not too oily or dry. The desert (not picturedwas very good as well. The Pane di Caramello was the desert I had.Overall: I would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner dates and there is a private room for big parties as well! I will be coming back here to try other dishes! :)
The braised short rib pasta I had a while ago was drowning in the sauce that was too mushy, the dish could have used something else to make it more dynamic. The house salad was great and staff was friendly. The other dishes look good so we might give it another try soon.
The food was excellent and the service was equally great. We enjoyed the atmosphere, although a bit loud, it was still a terrific dinner date out.
I would suggest a reservation on weekends because they get really busy. We did not have one and the only seating was at the bar, which we didnt mind because we heard so many great things about this place and we were super excited to try it. The bartender, although EXTREMELY busy, was amazing. We sat down and she said "Ill be right with you in a minute, Im just catching up, but in the meantime you should think about starting off with our poutine special we have this week" IT WAS AMAZING. And she made me the best old fashioned Ive ever had. She said they used brown sugar in them which was the "secret". Our pasta was delicious also. A great choice for dinner and happy we ended up at the bar, because she made our experience even better. We will be back!
Palio was fantastic! No reservation needed on a Tuesday. The food was great. The culture and vibe was fun. I’m new to the gluten free lifestyle and their Cauliflower pizza was phenomenal. Great drinks and service as well. Highly recommended!
I am very picky when it comes to eating out and this is hands down the best place ever!! I go here like 3 times a month. Their food is amazing and the restaurant is so cute and comfortable . The food never disappoints and I like how they offer a wine pairing with every meal. overall a great experience Every time and highly recommend!! You must try the pollo Marcella
It’s hard to enjoy the good food when the dining room is very very chilly. Looking around, half of the patrons gradually pulled coats around them until many of us were fully zipped into our winter coats. Comfort is essential to a nice meal.
Food very good. Had some issue and had to remake our order and half of our food was still cold. Ordered Southern comfort and coke didnt realize they were $11.25 each! With tip and one drink each for the 4 of us it was $162.00. Ouch 🤕😳
Ill start off by saying that this was my first time dining at Palio. Overall, it was a very nice experience. The setting for the restaurant is semi-formal, but very comforting. Definitely a place you could wear something nice to dine, but you dont have to.The wait staff is excellent. The waitress that attended to me for the evening, was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The food was very delicious. The wait time from order to service was very minimal...despite being very busy in the restaurant. The food had a very good presentation. The table ordered the eggplant and salmon dishes. Followed up by a tiramisu for dessert. The only complaint that I have is about the drinks. Not that the drinks were terrible. The drinks were very well balanced. The drinks were very delicious. The drinks are a little pricey, but honestly, theyre worth it. The complaint that Im referring to is for the bartending staff. I felt really bad for them because they were getting slammed with drink orders and they have the tiniest little area to work in. The bartender is actually mixing drinks on a shelf. It seems very odd and borderline unprofessional for them to do that or to be expected to do that. For the quality of drinks that the bartender is making, they need a proper area to make these drinks.Aside from that, I will be returning to this restaurant. Ill be returning for dinner and or desserts and drinks.
the quality of their dishes is amazing. they are so good, fresh, and inexpensive. the carbonara is probably my favorite!
Hands down some of the best alfredo Ive ever had! Wish I had taken a photo of it but I was too busy enjoying it 😅 so heres a photo of the perfectly sweet Pane di Caramello we got for dessert. Will absolutely be back next time Im in GR!
Amazing! Food was phenomenal, loved the outdoor seating and service was great! Highly recommend you check this place out, you won’t be disappointed. I’ll definitely be back soon.
Lots of places closed on the 4th of July but this place was open for business. Holy cow. DELICIOUS. Totally found a gem here. The service was great. Not only was he prompt, welcoming, and knowledgeable on the menu, he helped us find somewhere to see fireworks. Awesome. Everything at the restaurant is made in house AND IT SHOWS. The pasta was incredible. The food took a while but I imagine it was due to preparation. It was so good it was forgiven. They gave us a complimentary shot of limoncello to end the meal. We really enjoyed our meal here.
Excellent service, nice wine selection,. The Mezza Luna Pasta was great,. We also love the Pollo Mustardo was amazing.
An excellent dinner once again! We came a year ago and this experience was just as good as the last. I highly recommend eating here. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and does an excellent job.
Julia was our server, and AWESOME! My wife and I got the 2 dishes she recommended and they were very yummy. Wife had the Pollo Mostarda and I had the Bolognese. We also split a side ceasar and bottle of vino!Every honest review show have a negative. Two negatives. First no complimentary bread. Second, their housemade Lemoncello, didnt taste like Lemoncello. Had a lime taste and to tart. Those two negatives will not stop us from going back. Thanks for great experience Julia!!
Where to start? The food is amazing - no complaints on anything we ordered. HIGHLY recommend the calamari to start. Everything tasted SO FRESH. Great ambiance. Quick service. But the best part of our dining experience by far was our server, Ben. He was knowledgeable, personable, and kind. We visited from out of town/state, and he provided recommendations not only for our meal, but for our stay in Grand Rapids. Exemplary service - well done, Ben! Well be back!
The food was great! Except the steak entree called for charred broccolini, but was surprised to find regular pieces of broccoli lol but its okay. I also asked for med-rare and it came out with no pink, which was also surprising, but I was hungry.Definitely get those godly, mouthwatering brussel sprouts.5⭐ for being a cool place.
Outdoor seating, great smells and tastes. The staff was on point, very helpful and attentive. Enjoyed a family reunion tonight with some really tasty food. Definitely going back, and will absolutely bring more mouths to the table. Thanks Palio, I had a great time.
Wow! Absolutely amazing atmosphere. Tvs but casually. Amazing service from Allen. Great meals and very affordable
Good food, but priced on the high side. Also they left out that the lobster ravioli I ordered only came with 4 average sized raviolis! Good thing it was supremely delicious!
Had a 5 course Bells Beer Pairing Dinner. It was amazing. Every dish was thoughtfully composed with passion! My favorite bite was the Expedition Stout Stew. There was lots of love in those short ribs. Fantastic service!
I came here with my husband during restaurant week. While we didn’t order off the restaurant week menu for our entrees, we DID get their special desserts! They were outrageous. Our food was all excellent, and the service was very friendly. For anyone who has been to the Ann Arbor location, we agreed that this one has a much more updated interior and the food and service was a much better experience. We will be back again the next time we are craving Italian food!
a great place for a special dinner. Keninina was a great server and i would recommend him wholeheartedly. cant wait to visit again. the lemon curd bar was amazing! We didnt have anything we didnt love.
Awesome food. Great service. Lauren was amazing!! Also the manager Jacob checked on us. Great people. Chef Ryan made our favorite appetizer even though its no longer on the menu. Cant stress the great service enough. Thank you Lauren!!
The first time we tried Palio our food came out cold and a drink was spilled all over my boyfriend by a waitress. We chalked it up to it being the first couple weeks of business. They gave us a gift card and we tried again with carry out. Only to get our food home to find a large piece of a plastic wrapper mixed in our food. Do not recommend this restaurant nor will we be going back.
