Easygoing Southern Italian eatery offering pizza & pasta dishes alongside beer, wine & cocktails.
Was here about a month ago. I love the pasta and the seafood is fresh but the other order is plain a bit. We also ordered tiramisu and we love it!
This place is wonderful. We had a celebration of life for my mom and everything was great. The staff, the food, the venue, everything was wonderful. Diane, and everyone else, were on top of every detail and were super easy to work with. I cant say enough how grateful I am to them for making the celebration for my mom such a beautiful event. I highly recommend them.
Great staff that make sure you pick the right food for your taste. Authentic Italian fresh food. The dungeness crab ravioli is absolutely delicious.
This place has great atmosphere, and the food was delicious 😋. I would definitely return here when in the area. Although parking wasnt the easiest, it was worth the effort.
A complete miss. Service: Waiter never checked in with us. I never got my drink, but it was still on the bill. After I called it to his attention, he claimed I didnt order it, but took it off the bill. Waited 10 minutes to receive the check after the table was cleared. Asked to see the manager but leftafter waiting an additional 10 minutes. Food: The soup and both main dishes were unseasoned - I had to salt my pasta (and I never salt my food). No basil, no nothing, no flavor.I cannot fathom how this place got 3 stars, much less 4.
Very fun place that I might have passed a hundred times without realizing it. I had a wonderful mid-day salad but certainly look forward to going back and trying some of their larger plates. Bike parking was easy with a rack on the patio. There is a train that occasionally runs close by. If someone is easily startled or sensitive to loud noises, that might be an issue. I found it a fun surprise that helped make for a bit more relaxed atmosphere.
In overall the service is very good. Most of the seating is apparently outside. We came in hot weather day so it was a bit uncomfortable. The minestrone has not had any taste for my opinion. The eggplant was over cooked and over covered with marinate souse with 2 pieces of cheese on top.Had probably too high of expectations at the beginning. The prawns pasta were over cooked as well. Probably the weather affected the restaurant chef ☺️
I just came back from eating at Palermo’s and I absolutely loved the food and the service was amazing and I would very 100% recommend this to family members and friends! But… this gets a one star from me because they do not serve burgers and fries! This was a very big disappointment which leads me to never come here again.Who doesn’t have burgers and fries! Palermo owner or staff if you read this please add these to the menu i will add your 5 stars you definitely deserve if you add them to the menu. Thank you
This restaurant is the worse Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Being a vegetarian from South Asia, Italian cuisine is something that we always could rely upon to have vegetarian options. We ordered 4 dishes, and not even one of them was any good. The fried peppers were flavorless and not crispy at all. Fried zucchini was very bland, as if there was no seasoning at all. Fettuccini Porcini pasta was barely edible, very bland and tasteless. Vegetarian pizza had so little red sauce that there was no flavor at all. I am surprised how this restaurant has a 4.5 star rating!
Wait times are a bit long, but 100% worth it. The food is fantastic, and the staff are awesome. Highly recommend checking it out.
My daughter had a birthday dinner here and the staff were so helpful and served all the teenagers so kindly! They placed tables in an order that worked well for our party size and were open to last minute changes. Everyone we spoke to on the phone was very warm and the food tasted great as well! We greatly appreciate how some staff stayed back until the party was over, even after their kitchen closed.
Food was amazing. Service was courteous but I had to flag someone down everytime we needed something. They did not check on us or ever provide refills on coffee etc. If the service was better this would be a 5 star establishment for sure.
Great Italian food!My husband and I have been here for a few times (sometimes with friends, sometimes with family)!!!We love their food (pizza and spaghetti)!!!I love how I can “customize” the type of noodle (and my favorite is angel hair). I love their cheese too!!!Their seafood spaghetti is super yummy!Great environment!!!One of our San Jose go-to Italian places!!Highly recommend it!!!(My food with my game - Pikmin Bloom)AR pictures!
Came in on a Sunday night about an hour before closing and were seated quickly. About a few minutes after getting seated and served some complimentary bread and water, we were told the table we were seated at was reserved and were asked if we could relocate. Since the server asked nicely and let us know the situation, we didnt complain. The food was pretty good overall and the ambiance was pretty laid back but the service was a bit slow in terms of gaps between getting water refills or getting the dessert order or bill at the end. Pictured are the burrata, calamari, beef tortellini soup, spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccine porcini, ravioli meat sauce, panna cotta, and affogato. Would definitely come back to try more food since its a nice little spot for Italian food in San Jose.
Fantastic setting sitting on the deck overlooking the stream. Service was fast and very welcoming. Food was awesome, it had a great energy from the waiters and patrons. Would go anytime .
I love the ambience, and watching the natural scenery was refreshing. The waiters were also polite and friendly. The food was decent but not particularly outstanding. I did enjoy the Polpettine di Melanzane though.
Very good Italian restaurant close to Downtown San Jose. I went recently and ordered the Veal Parmagiana. Overall, it was very satisfying. Service was great. Food came out at a desirable time.Probably top 5 favorite Italian restaurants in San Jose. Id go back.
Last Saturday We arrived at 6pm, did not get a table till about 715. The place was pac full of peoples. The service is greats soon we seat down. All the server’s is very nice, quick, food come out on times. Very good Italian food, my wife love the salad. Highly recommend this little germ in Willow Glen area
Worst Italian food I have ever had. They have the audacity to keep the prices high and serve food which was clearly MicroWaved. The Eggplant dish in appetizer was worse than horrible- can’t even call it that. Chicken was so chewy that it never finished in my mouth and eventually I had to spit it out.I’ll never come to this place again and would recommend others to avoid this place as well. It’s nothing short of disappointing and disgusting food. I wish I could give negative rating.
90min drive was definitely worth it.For my first time, I honestly loved everything. Parking was easy to navigate. The service was beyond amazing from the owner to the staff. Food & dessert were delicious & out of my norm. The patio was lovely especially with a breeze. Will be returning again.
Such a phenomenal place!! Franco was the best server ever!! We searched the area desperately for a place that had something our entire family could eat. Our son has autism so we specifically needed a place with pizza. He said this was the best pizza next to New Yorks own Lombardis Pizza!! Food was divine, ambiance was cozy and inviting.
We love this place! The staff is amazing and the food is delicious amd the atmosphere is spectacular! Weve eaten here a bunch in the last year the most recent time was with 6 toddlers and 6 adults we sat outside and it was lovely!
Wonderful sort of quirky atmosphere. Great service and delicious food
Fun quirky atmosphere. Great service delicious foodThey made exactly what I wanted to eatand it wasnt on the menu.Looking forward to going back and try more of the food
Nice outdoor seating with heaters. Parking across the street. Excellent cocktails! Salmon lacked a bit bland for my taste but was fresh and well cooked.
Went recently with a reservation and was seated quickly. It took over 10 minutes for our server to come over and take our drink order and it never really got any faster. We ended up being there for close to 2 hours!Got the no frills chicken parmigiana and it was not worth the $28. The chicken is pounded so flat you get barely anything, I was hoping for a big chunk of chicken but that didnt happen.Meatballs were good.Maybe the pasta and pizza is where it is at?Also the round tables outside are strangely large, it makes sharing appetizers, cheese, etc such a pain in the butt.Doubt Ill return.
Went for a late lunch after a funeral service. There was around 50 of us, and we had a section in the back. The food and the service was excellent. The restaurant doesnt look big from the front, but its very large once you get inside. We were very happy with everything.
Neighborhood Italian restaurant has been at this location for a long time but we never know until lately. First, I was surprised the location so close to the power line. Food wise, I have better. 😅 maybe it’s not the type of restaurants we go to.
Delicious Italian food with generous portions, in a wonderful ambience. Makes for a great place to celebrate a special occasion for any group size.
Amazing food and great atmosphere, would recommend if youre looking for a true Italian experience.
Met up with an old work friend for lunch at his suggestion. We havent seen each other for a little over two years due to the pandemic. My first time here. He has dined here quite often for a few years now. The staff was attentive and right on cue, always smiling and excellent at suggestions. They would do anything to please the customer. The food was delicious, I was not expecting to be so Wowd! I enjoyed Spaghetti Putanesca with a generous helping of large shrimp and a nice dusting of parmesan cheese. My friend had an amazing looking bowl of spaghetti with meat sauce and two meatballs (sorry I wasnt able to snap a picture of his plate). He did say it was delicious. We ended our meal with coffees and a most amazing Raspberry Panna Cotta, silky smooth.I cant wait to dine here again!NOTE: parking is directly across the street from the restaurant, although it is limited. You will be smarter to park at their alternate parking area which is located on the same side of the street as the restaurant heading East a block or so. Its located in the former Orchard Hardware site.ENJOY!
So this place is very unusual!! Very much in a good way. When you walk in the host staff are super friendly and greet you with a big smile. We did go on a Sunday night near closing time and it wasn’t so busy. Walking in the interior design of the place is a bit wacky lol. I think that’s probably the only minus in my dining experience. The waiter was super fun, friendly, and very patient with my vegetarian bf who basically requested the chef to practically alter the entire dish he ordered. The restaurant was very flexible and I really appreciate that. They even have an exclusive “vegan” menu which I think is a very nice gesture for customers who need to search for vegan options in a vast menu. I in the on the other hand was craving some seafood that night so I went with the seafood option which was Aaaaaa-mazing. I will say they barely added salt to my dish so I did have to add some salt to get it to the right flavor. I guess it’s kind of nice that they care about the salt intake. My bf ordered an Alfredo fettuccine with some mixed vegetables. He too had to add some salt but was very please with the flavor of his meal.I loved how we had our own little fire next to us. It felt very rustic and romantic.I highly recommend this place!! There is also free parking which I have absolutely no complaints on either :).
My visit about a week ago was very great, I thoroughly enjoyed the Italian food offered here at this restaurant. It is the best Italian food I have ever eaten. I highly recommend coming to this restaurant if you are living or visiting the area.
Nice decor, large space, friendly service! Liked the pizza, fluffy crust, flavorful, tasty. The veal was tough, unfortunately. The lobster ravioli and pasta also were average.
I had an enjoyable dinner (burrata and gnocchiat this place. The restaurant was rather large and service was attentive.
The service here was outstanding! We sat on the patio under the heat lamp which was very nice on a chilly evening! The food was very bland and lacked flavor sadly! Was slightly disappointed in our pizza and pasta dishes that we ordered.
This is a great restaurant with awesome service. We came in and were seated outside where there’s umbrellas, patio heaters(that weren’t litand a roof over the outdoor dining. The food was awesome, except for the portion sizes. They’re pretty tiny, my lamb chop dish only came with 2 small lamb chops… The specialty cocktails were awesome along with my chocolate cake for dessert 🍮🍨**Not sure if price tag justifies the experienceThe location of this restaurant is horrible, there’s a giant power line over the building, and there’s a homeless encampment in the river behind the restaurant.
This restaurant is not a 4.5 imposible. You can do better pasta at home. Plates are good. But this is really average. Nothing special. Service was good ! The House is open so it’s perfect for covid. They are pet friendly.
My children and I love Palermos. I love love the outside seating especially in the back. A very garden like atmosphere. Waiters are very attentive with excellent service! Food very delicious.
Is simply the best homestyle Italian food in the areaSuper friendly staff And very professionalDelicious menu With a lot of options
Simply the best tasting authentic Italian food freshly madesuperb serviceWonderful atmosphereHuge menu....Great prices
Decent but pricey Italian restaurant* Not worth the price unless you crave Italian food.$30-50 per personWe went there for dinner and ordered two different pasta dishes as well as cocktails. The cocktails were good but far from strong. The pastas while tasty werent anything special, especially for the price. The carbonara were mediocre, the pancetta was kind of bland and its actually hard to say if it was really pancetta. The portion was honest, but this might be the most Ive ever spent in carbonara. The house special pastas were really underwhelming. It came with 5 pieces of sausage, a few pieces of mushrooms and pesto; all that for $30...The service may have been the worst part, really slow and lacking attention. We waited at least 30min to get our order taken, despite what seemed a relatively slow night.Would not recommend, and I dont think well come back.
Delightful experience dining al fresco. Excellent service, a large range of seating options, and an even larger menu. Be sure to check their daily specials.
Amazing food amazing atmosphere kind a quick servers. Came here for my birthday and now its one of my favorite spots to eat.
This has to be the ONE of the BEST Italian, very authentic, restaurants in the San Jose area! The outdoor patio dinning experience had a nice, cozy experience, including the warm fireplace! My greatest thankfulness to all the waiters, particularly Davis Cleverson for making my belated birthday ceremony in company of my special friend, Monica! Grazie per tutto!!
Phoned in an order at 1pm on a rainy Weds (day after shelter in home orders lifted to purple tierand arrived with no wait time nor customers eating on their patio. Plenty of parking across the street in their lot. Amicable staff took my order and greeted immediately upon arrival. Decided to order a soup for the cold weather along with meat ravioli and fettuccine con pollo - overall, under impressed. Noodles and ravioli were a little too firm to our liking and seemed to lack some flavor per sauce. Was hoping for some melted cheese or something to spark my interest in the ravioli but it was a bit too plain, albeit somewhat filling. The soup was the savior in this meal, meatballs and pasta were to par, paired with the sourdough slices made an impeccable appetizer. No utensils or napkins were given.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was delicious especially the white clams were very traditional.Fried zucchini could be better in my opinion.Fried calamari were good.4/5 because it’s not the best Italian you will eat but it’s still very good. The drink caipirinha could be better.
The dining experience was amazing. But the food needed something. The pasta was overcooked and the Chicken parmesana was overcooked and dry as well. The starters and desserts were amazing! Cute and fun for date night!
I usually don’t write reviews for 3 star places, but today I’ll make an exception. First of all, my wife and I were starving and I wanted to find a good Italian place and came across this place. It is day before Thanksgiving, so it was very slow there. It was also raining and cold, so combined with the hunger, it wouldn’t take much for ANY place to get 4+ stars. So to start, while it was raining, they wanted to sit us outside, in a covered patio, with a heater. Uh sorry. Upon our request, They moved us inside where there were plenty of seating! We did get good service from then on (well we were only 1 of 3 tables occupied). The food was ok. Not anything like my favorite Italian in Ventura. The bread was a bit on the hard side. The raviolis were a bit doughy. Spaghetti was fine. The salted caramel gelato was good. It wasn’t horrible and I think we’ll give it another chance someday with different choices, and give them a chance to increase their rating. But right now it’s still just average.
First of all the service here is unbelievably good. I have been here several times at around the closing time yet they provided an amazing atmosphere. next, the food is really good. I ordered pasta which was perfectly cooked as well as veal which was very tasty. All in all great food, great service.
