Large natural history museum charting Earth's evolution, with dinosaur skeleton exhibits.
Excellent to take tour lottle ones!
This museum was stunning - in 1987.A gorgeous building houses an enormous collection of fossils and reproductions, from the beginning of life to recent history. The dinosaur and mammoth skeletons are the highlight, and certainly make this a worthwhile outing. There is a free audio tour available in English, which is a definite plus. The downside is that nothing has changed or been updated since 1987. Paleontology and taxonomy have made breathtaking strides in the last 35 years, but none of that is on show here. None of the dinosaurs are shown with feathers! In addition, the design of the exhibits is archaic and inaccessible. I dont think children will be entertained here for long.
An interior is old. but the museum is interesting and there are many finds from the Jurassic period
No flying dinosaurs but very nice museum.
Supergood
Yes very good place
Good place for kids, for 30-40 minutes
Good selection of fossils (but displays could do with a make-over). I liked the sculptures and artwork.
Nice place, the museum is big. The kids were happy to see real sized dinosaurs. The workers are generally friendly, but there are some who spoilt all the mood.I recommend!
Horrible visitor management- no sufficient parking places, low capacity on the checking in and wardrobe, very long queues. Prepare to wait outside for half an hour or longer.
The museum is a very interesting, but the nearest parking is a very small...
As an American that visited Russia it might be weird but this was one of the best highlights of a 3-month visit! This place is awesome. Amazing collection.
Interesting place, especially for children above 5 yo.But, for now part of exhibition is under construction.
Some great exhibits, very little English signage. They have an audio tour, not sure wjat languages are available. Its an easy walk from the metro station.
Great museum with real dinosaurs.
Lack of explanations in english
Small interesting museum. Most signs in Russian. Can complete in 1 hour.
Amazing museums with around 5000 exhibits!
Amazing museum! Very interesting permanent exhibition, polite personnel, and not too overcrowded even at weekend.
Great place to bring kids
Museum is bit far from city centreA lot of dinosaurs bonesAudio programme is also bestIt gives a feeling of our wonderful childhood.Must visit
Beautiful museum with lots of history. worth to visit.
Brilliant place, a bit out of the way but worth the effort. Not much English spoken but staff very helpful
make museum huge!)
Amazing museum ticket cost 400 ruble
Impressively large collection of fossils. Though lacks info in English.
This museum is a bit far from the center of Moscow, but it is easy to find it using the subway. The museum has a wide variety of pieces, artifacts. It is a space very organized and suitable for tourists. I really liked it!
Left same as was visited last time in 1988 but stuff is still impressive
Lots of dinosaurus skeletons. They are different sizes. Bones, bones, bones everywhere in the museum. Very impressive.
Dont expect much wow, but interesting stuff if you are into paleontology.
Nice place to visit specially for kids.
Soviet atmosphere and good collection of fossils and Dinos skeleton. Pity everything just in Russian.
Really amazing.
Totaly amazing
Good one
Big collection of skeletons of dinosaurs
This is my favorite museum. I love it too much. Because there are dinosaurs! (Look at my avatar).Ive already been here two times and I want again!
Good place to learn history of animal development, especially dinosour
Good collections, normal personal. Beware, too high concentration of noisy kids on weekens.
Absolutely stunning art, which is not what you normally expect to see at a natural history museum (ceramics, bronze sculptures, relieff, paintingsand , of course, amazing fossils! My favourite since childhood. However, when we were there, both the cafeteria and the gift shop were closed for reconstruction, which is unfortunate when you visit the museum with kids. The toilet facilities were also, in need of upgrades (which hopefully will come after the cafeteria is finished). Still, give the museum top grade, because it is a must-see, and the negative sides are assumed to be temporary
Great walk, everything in russian, they have a recorded tour on the travel app, so dont forget headphones
Nice museum! Free parking, but far from center and metro stations.
Great place with lots of fossils. Here you can watch and learn a lot about evolution of species. Even big dinosaurs fossils are available here.Collection is big, you can also download free app with guides speech (qr-code for downloading is in the museum). This place is great for kids (they are amazed of big dinosaurs).Pros: big queue on holidays (on normal days no queue at all), cash-only tickets, slow service at cloakroom.
Its very interesting place for kids and adults. There are a lot of fossils, skeleton of mammoth and other the oldest animals! There is the mummy of little Mammoth his name is Dima. It is complete preserved one. There is a parking not far from the museum, on nearly street.
It was amazing experience being here. We learned a lot of things about different creatures and their evolution. The professor from Russia explained a lot and was very kind
Must visit in Moscow!
Check out the murals and other Soviet-era wall decorations.
The museum is dusty, but kids like the exhibition.
On of the greatest Moscow museums! It is interesting, scientific, educational for all ages. Kids love it.
Ive been there some 20 years ago when I was a kid, but I still remember the place! Its definitely a must see for both adults and their kids.
