Palazzo Petrucci Ristorante - Mediterranean restaurant in Napoli, Italy
We were in Italy for 2 weeks, exploring various places around the country, eating out every night, and this was probably our favorite meal. My wife had a cocktail that contained olive oil, which was really pleasant, you couldnt drink too many of them though. Then we had one of the surprise taster menus, which was honestly amazing. Every dish was incredibly beautiful, to look at and to taste; all the staff were gracious, polite, friendly and professional; and the wine / drinks were excellent too. One word of warning, if they bring you lolly-pops, make sure you put the whole thing in your mouth. It is basically a ball of liquid surrounded by a thin layer of ... something. So you put it all in your mouth at once. Our waitress said "one bite" to us, which we thought meant just take one bite out of it, but she meant "in one". My wife went first and it exploded down her front!! Yikes. It was honestly, truly delicious though. My only criticism of the restaurant would be the temperature. We were there in mid-September, they had all the windows open etc. to get a nice sea breeze, but it wasnt enough to keep the place cool enough for us. I was in a shirt and trousers and quite sweaty the whole time unfortunately. But it didnt ruin my night. Great restaurant, very worthy of 5-stars.
Cons- food is not really interesting and is very repetitive. I feel that this city has much better food to offer at this price point. The design and crowd is tacky and cheap.Pros-great service and big portions.Im just here to get the weird emoji response from the owner.
Great dishes but ultimately underwhelming given the price and Michelin star. Some spectacular dishes included the first dish with raw shrimp crudo and mozzarella- very interesting combo that somehow works although the sprouts were a bit unnecessary, and the calamari pasta- where strips of thinly sliced calamari were twisted and treated as linguine noodles- tender, well seasoned, and quite creative (although I’ve since seen it in a few places). There was also an excellent shellfish and eel pasta where the sauce was a concentrated jus presumably made from shellfish that was very savoury and umami, perfectly coating a small portion of spaghetti noodles. Some misses included the cold noodles- bit underseasoned, and topped with bland mussels that were a bit too soft, the red snapper which was lacking in depth of any flavour other than olive oil, and ultimately overshadowed by the zucchini on the plate which were excellent, and the duck, which was very chewy, underseasoned, and quite challenging to cut given the less than optimal cook- the accompanying basil cream was also a bit of a puzzling combination that did not work for me.The desserts were playful and overall quite delicious. The service was impeccable and the view from the seating by the windows is absolutely spectacular particularly as the evening darkens. For me it doesn’t quite justify the price, and would be on the lower end of 1 Michelin star places I’ve had but overall a pleasant experience and visit.
We came here on our first day in Naples. Jet lagged AF. It was so good.
Awesome views and drinks. Our dinner was a 7 course plus wine pairing and 4 were quite lousy, Went to the restaurant with high expectations, while we’re visiting Napoli. But, the food is not what you expect from a michelin star restaurant. The staff was friendly.Welcome was nice, view is amazing. The amuse Bouche were tasty.5 people served us at our table. Some of them were confused ( maybe new staff). One of the dish was linguine but instead the waiter told us it was spaghetti at the beginning. Then we double checked it with the sommelier and he confirmed that it was linguine.Dishes were salty. Dessert was way to large for 1 person.
Excellent experience! Will come back for sure
We ordered the Quattro Formaggi pizza to share as a quick lunch snack. The crust was delicious and the service was good.
I am simply shocked about this restaurant and their policy.I did an online reservation some weeks in advance. I got contacted by the restaurant a week prior to the planned visit via WhatsApp to confirm the reservation and to send a picture of my credit card details as a guarantee. As I said I do not feel comfortable to send my confidential details via an unprotected WhatsApp chat, the restaurant was still insisting on some guarantee. They wanted me to pay 75€ per person up front and send me their IBAN to do the payment. So I have to pay even before going there? Ridiculous! What do they think who I am? I prebooked all restaurants for my holiday and showed up everywhere with no exception. If they are afraid of people not showing up, then they should not run a restaurant. It can always happen that you cannot make it because you get sick, but then I would call and cancel my booking. In addition I do believe it is not even legal to ask customers to send credit card details via WhatsApp due to EU data protection laws. I could not believe it!Probably the food is great, but the way to get there is unaccaptable and as a potential guest you do not feel welcome as the restaurant insinuates from the beginning you will not show up. And seriously who wants to pay 75€ per person without even been there or seeing the restaurant in reality?
What an experience! Everything was perfect, starting from the welcoming and the aperitivo on the first floor, you can already sense that is gonna be a wonderful night. Federica was amazing, she suggested the franciacorta with some finger foods and explained them all perfectly! Then you go down for the dinner, they already knew our preferences since they contacted us before the dinner, and they remembered them all. We’ve got the 2 different 5 courses menu and enjoyed all of them. I’d say one of the best was the gambero rosso with the buffalo mozzarella, but really couldn’t find one thing that did not have flavour. Vincenzo served us, what can I say about him, he’s the waiter that every place needs: professional, knew everything, friendly… Please give this guy a raise!!! :)The view is amazing, the cuisine has many of the Neapolitan goods and surely I will be back!
They cancelled my reservation when I refused to email them a picture of my credit card. Wouldnt tell me what the credit card would be used for or how it would be protected. At least they cancelled the reservation promptly so I could book somewhere with a basic concept of security & customer service.
Made for a really memorable occasion. I loved it. I came here with my husband for our wedding anniversary. We are new to living in Naples and this restaurant is a common recommendation among acquaintances here. It did not disappoint.I loved the food, but its greatest strength is the staff. I will always remember the way I felt in a restaurant environment before I remember the food. I felt welcomed and comfortable at Palazzo Petrucci. Staff was so attentive and elegant but not snooty or pretentious. Smart casual dress code was fitting and well suited. The sommalier was fantastic and I regret not getting his name so I can mention him here. We were there on July 6.Food: I really enjoyed it and I can at times, be a picky eater. They asked about any allergies and I requested no nuts and had no issues. Nice presentation and very enjoyable. There are so many restaurants here in Naples. But I had such a nice time, I definitely plan on coming back with visitors. Thank you for helping to make our 17 year anniversary a happy memory.
Wow! What a wonderful experience my mother and I had at Palazzo Petrucci. The ambiance in the restaurant is modern and sleek with the right use of colours to still feel welcoming and hospitable. The food was excellent and we had no complaints. The ingredients used were of high quality and resulted in beautiful dishes with in-depth flavors whilst staying true to Neapolitan cuisine. What I can call the cherry on top of the pie was the staff and especially Vincenzo. His enthusiasm for his work and the ease at which he does this has become a rarity in most other restaurants. Although you might need to safe up to dine at this wonderful restaurant, it is worth every penny!
Delicious food, incredible view, great service!
Never ever had such a bad michelin experience than this restaurant. They should take there star away this was horrible food abd a very arrogant Maître
Top locationE top drinkTop panorama
We went for a special occasion, a couple friends visiting. Fantastic bang for your buck. The food was delicious and I really loved being walked through each course by the host. My friend was gluten-free and they made her gluten-free bread on the fly which she said was so good that she wanted to steal in her purse. I can’t wait to go back
The whole experience was a disappointment. From the start the decor was cheap and bare. The lack of inspiration in the design of the dining room carried over into the food. It felt lazy, as if it was just playing at the idea of creative fine dining. The flavors were uninteresting and bland, the presentation ordinary, and the ingredients didn’t taste particularly fresh. We are giving this restaurant two starts only because of the waitstaff, who tried their best to make our experience enjoyable when the food wasn’t.We recommend you save your money and go eat at any normal place with decent reviews. We wish we had.To the chef (if you are reading): We do not like giving bad reviews. However, this restaurant is not anywhere near Michelin status, and if you wish to keep your star, then step up your game.
Great restaurant. Fantastic food. Nice interior. Friendly service. Great atmosphere. Astonishing view over the bay of Napels.
Not a Michelin Star Restaurant…. Sorry, was very disappointed
Everything was perfect, both cocktails and finger food.
My wife and I were going to have dinner here on April 2, but had to change it to lunch the following day due to a flight issue. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was a wonderful experience all around. It was nice being there during the day because the location is so beautiful. You start in a bar/sitting room overlooking the water. A spectacular view. They opened up the window wall in front of us to bring in a nice breeze. We started with a cocktail and a welcome from the chef - three small items that were nicely presented and well conceived. We both ordered the chefs menu and a Tuscan white blend of Sauvignon blanc and Viognier. The wine list is vast and the prices are fair. It paired well with our courses, which lean toward seafood. You then head down to the ground floor, again with ceiling height windows looking out onto the water. The food was excellent as far as presentation, taste, and overall conception. The raw cod served on a tomato broth topped with foam was especially great. The desserts were numerous and all top notch. The service was excellent across the board. After our meal, we went out on the top floor porch overlooking the Gulf while waiting for a car. Another beautiful view of the coastline of Naples and the sailboats on the water.Great overall experience, highly recommended.
Probably the best pizza, I’ve tried on my life! I choose my ingredients, and they made the best!
All was so good! The location, the food, the services and the sommelier Vincenzo was so good in matching every single wines. I will come back for sure!
I normally don’t think super high end restaurants are worth the cost difference, but we did the seven course tasting menu here and it was just exceptional. Wine parings were perfect, beautiful location, and superb service.
3.5 star if pushed due to price/value. Solid food, top ingredients but relatively not a lot of complex flavors. A bit more care could go along way for a one star: Sea bass with bacon - hard to cut the bacon with offered knife, raw seafood plate very tasty but served as is, kumquat halves served with the seeds, radish could be cleaner. The location is great on the beach, service good. Hostess better than waiters. They were also very accommodating to our 9 year old. I would not come back at this price point. Best dishes: Cocktails and the signature desert with Zabaione - to die for.
Very nice location. We had the added benefit of watching the full moon over the bay of Napoli. The food is exceptional the sommelier makes really good wine recommendation. I suggest you get a sweat wine for the desert as well.
The location is beautiful.Otherwise... Forgettable experience:- the food was too salty (all the pasta dishes)- the raw seafood starter wasnt very fresh- the service wasnt great - rather slow, poor English- they claim they seat people on a first come - first serve - they had nice tables that they occupied much later than the worse positioned tables- the music was drowned in the louder music from a private event going on upstairsThe only thing that was on par with Michelin was the price and the pretentious manner they try to project when they serve you.
That was an amazing night. We went actually late due some circumstances and plus the struggle to find a spot for my car. However, the food was wonderful, and the staff was super kind and professional. Highly recommended.
Nice beach location with good views. A bit noisy with the background music. Food has indeed one star level with the exception of the duck beast and the coffee which was served in a cold cup. Expect to pay 500 euros for two people which given the economic situation of this region of Italy is very expensive.
It was with our best dinner in the city! The view you have from the Restauran is gorgeous, but that just the beginning, every single dish we had was a truly delightful experience, the staff went beyond and above to make sure we had a great evening. Special mention to the amazing sommelier that took great care of us, you can tell he is passionate by his job.
Food is excellent and the chef is super creative. Beautiful presentation of each dish. Views are amazing. Staff is really professional, great service.
Awesome views and drinks, our dinner was a 5 course and 2 were quite lousy. The staff was friendly and they gave us an extra dessert. Way too expensive for the kind of food. One of our courses was soup and even though this was a small portion, in my plate was one spoonful...no joke. My wifes pasta was undercooked, so much that it got stuck on her teeth. The other 3 meals were spot on.
Outstanding service! The restaurant entrance is on street level at via Posillipo and works its way down to the beach. The evening at villa Petrucci begins with an aperitif on the first floor below the entrance. The Belvedere on this floor looks over the bay of Naples and the Vesuvius which in the evening is particularly stunning especially around sundown. On the comfy deep sofas one is pampered with tasty greetings from Chef Lino Scarallo (1 Michelin starand delicious cocktails. After ordering on the first floor one is escorted downstairs to the restaurant at spitting distance from the water. Here dinner is served well portioned master pieces.
A Michelin star restaurant with a view to Palazzo Donn’ Anna, beach front, nice service, welcome prosecco. Small portions, one starter, one main dish, half of a dessert, a bottle of water and a bottle of wine (for three110€ pp. Provola stuffed red mullet with chives was half body..., ricotta paccheri ragu and fish of the day was ok, tasteless blue lobster salad.
Very good cousine. Great quality and variety, a goutmet experience. Price is inline with the quality of the cousine, do not expect to pay 50€ per person. The view is great but, that is why I am giving 4 starts, during summer at lunch you will have persons outside on the beach which is not very elegant. In such a period I would by far suggest to go for dinner at sunset. The view on palazzo Donna Anna is astonishing, great service, but the restaurant room is too much minimalist
If you want to experience a Michelin star awarded restaurant with a strong traditional Neapolitan influence, Palazzo Petrucci is the right place to go! This upscale restaurant is built over 3 floors: the entrance at the top, the aperitif panoramic bar on the 2nd floor and the main servings area on the 1st, next the water. The service is impeccable, extremely attentive and hearty. The dishes are very beautiful and choreographic, besides being delicious. The portions are also reasonable, considering the type of restaurant. The pricing is in line with other exclusive and luxurious restaurants
Incredible staff and very warm, knowledgable and friendly, I was slightly disappointed with the food. It was good but not what I was expecting. I think this can be the problem when you go to a Michelin star restaurant
1 Michelin star restaurant with good 5 and 7-course menu and large selection of good wines. Nice staff who provides you with all info necessary to enjoy the meals served. Top view over the Gulf of Naples and the very famous Palazzo DonnAnna depicted in many movies set in Naples. The only negative aspect is the dirty beach right in front of the windows where a lot of garbage lies which could be removed easily in half a day. Prices are high but after all this is a gourmet restaurant.
Went to the restaurant with high expectations, for our vacation honeymoon dinner.Welcome was nice, view is amazing. Not a very busy night, half of the restaurant was empty. The amuse Bouche were tasty. Champagne 22-25£ per glasse, expected. We took the tasting menu plus wine tasting, food came so fast the second we sat down. Didn’t have time to settle, didn’t get any wine yet. Very odd.The wine was served by our waiter, not by a sommelier. 5-6 people served us at our table. Some of them were confused ( maybe new staff)Second course came so fast again, no time to finish our wine. Dishes were very salty, wine pairing was not done accordingly. Portions are very small, expected, appropriate for tasting menu.Dessert was way to large for 1 person. Wine was extremely not well paired with this dessert. It was so so so sweet everything.I will not be going back.
Lovely view and service. Such a treat to have this kind of dining experience in Naples. We went A la Carte versus ordering the tasting menu and loved all of the dishes we had. Lots of little extras and the Sparking wine they start you with was delicious. Huge wine selection. Pictured below are the duck and dark chocolate, white chocolate dessert. I would sayaverage is 130 euro per person. My menu did not have prices but my husband’s did. Arrive by 20:00 to get a seat on the water. They speak English and offer menus in English, French and Italian.
Pricey, but phenomenal food and a great location right on the beach, with nice views
We celebrated our birthdays at Palazzo Petrucci and received 1st class service from Nello who explained everything for us. food, atmosphere excellent it must be a lovely setting in the summer watching the sun set.Nello even took the time to show us the wine callers and explained how the wine rotation works, over 9 thousands wines stored . Thanks once again Nello for making our night extra special Phil & Jan.
Amazing food, amazing service, and an amazing setting! The restaurant is right on the beach, there were several complementary plates, and the service was very attentive. The way the food was delivered was surprising in the best of ways. I would recommend trying the potato soup as well as the blueberry sphere!
Top restaurant by the sea. Service is fantastic. One star michelin chef. Decent portions and complimentary taste portions. Good value for money
Excellent food, modern but charmingly understated. We had the five course taster menu at lunchtime, the restaurant was far from full and the service impeccable. Great choice of wine, including reasonably priced local wine. I think this is the only Michelin starred restaurant in Naples, aspires for even greater things, so expect to spend lots and you wont be disappointed.
One of the best meals of my life. I just recommend this place and you will have an amazing dinner. The outdoor part needs a bit of improvement but this is the only thing I did not like.
Service is excellent. We was taking the special for 55.- to tryout. The food was amazing, we enjoyed it a lot. The place was quiet and comfortable. You have to go to this restaurant when you are in napoli !!!
All dishes were nicely laid out and service was very attentive. I purchased the seven dish set menu/tasting menu. I was impressed with taste of the first two starter dishes. The deserts were less impressive. The service was excellent. Decor was worse than expected for a restaurant of this class.
Service was great, and the ambience was nice. Food was too salty and lacked distinguishing flair and flavour. Overall, it was a fine experience, and a good option for a fancier dinner in Napoli, without incurring a huge bill.
Tasting menu is excellent quality and value. The dining room is just a bit bare (there are 3), the one by the open kitchen looks like it would be more fun. Overall, food and service wins out and Palazzo Petrucci deserves the wide praise it receives.
