If you want to experience local food and life, this is the place to be! As vegetarians we could find several options!
I went on Sunday, nice atmosphere, fun, you can see how locals spend their time! Lots of food stalls, and even dancing 😍
Absolutely unique, vendors, amusements, food, peculiarities of the culture on display...take a taxi & visit. We visited on rainy Saturday, a bit challenging but still fun!
Lots of great local food and tons of vendors that dont bomb rush you and are fairly priced. I would suggest that you see it at night.
There were mini electric car rentals for kids on a Wednesday night! I ate at a restaurant nearby, I would like to eat in these food stalls.
A must go for real food, love the big wheels for the kids. Shops and food are way better and cheaper than in the hotel zone. A must see place!
Always so lively! If you are hungry this is the place to be! Super safe and lots of fun !
Why not eat where all the locals eat!And thats exactly what we did, every evening we would come here to try one new dish :)Its great place and ppl so friendly and curious about you :)Safe - yes we felt safe. But you always need to be street wise no matter what country youre in.
Right ... in the past I mentioned to go Mercedes 28. I last night went here and this is the now the new best place to go for gifts, food, kids fairground and maybe a rumba or salsa !! . Seriously good place the stall holders are harassing you and the vibe is very pleasant. Its full of locals and a few tourists but the food really authentic and great variety. 👍
Traditional square where the locals gather on the weekends to a street snack or experience traditional or local amateur musical acts. Also with a stall market selling Mexican handcrafts.
Authentic Mexican Street Food, markets and performances.
Great place to get authentic food and see the show.
Visited at noon weekday, easy free parking, park area didnt feel inviting to sit and enjoy, Chesters pizza not open yet, Hunters bar didnt seem inviting either, felt 100 safe, more activities later hours :))
Very nice and cozy park. There are many foodstands where you can try all sorts of Mexican dishes. We were there on a Sunday, on this day there were performances of traditional dancing and a small fair with stands. A great end to our holiday.
Great place to buy Mexican Corn, Marquesitas, ice cream, and other local snacks. Can purchase souvenirs here as well. A supermarket (OXXOalso around the corner in case you need necessities. Sometimes local music is being played at this park. Great Mexican vibes. Love Mexican people 🤍
We had so much to eat at this park. We came here for the marquesitas , which was so delicious. There’s all sorts of good food to choose from. From our hotel which is located on the hotel zone we took the bus, Ruta 1 very easy to get to.
A quite little town, the prices for souvenirs are the best!! The best food stand in my open was the 1st one with the empandas and DJavier. Prices are the best ...bring cash! Also ve ready to be surrounded by pigeons!
As it is famous in downtown already, worth to visit if you are at. Family friendly atmosphere, with multiple Mexican food kiosks.
Probably My Favorite Place In Cancun To Get The Authentic Street Food, Music & Vibes!! I Highly Recommend This Spot. I Been Paying Double, Triple & 4x The Prices Every Where Else! Parking Is Crazy So Good Luck! But Don’t Miss Out On The Night Life & Vibes Here At Las Palapas!!
This is a vibrant place to get good vibes of local Cancun. Theres a wide variety of authentic Mexican street food and treats. Theres also plenty of kid games and local souvenirs at more affordable price than the tourists zone. Once in a while you also get to watch their live shows, free. The place is cool and relaxing but could get crowded fast. Perfect to experience local culture in the heart of Cancun.
Secret Gem. If you are in town on Sunday nights that is the best time to go. The kids loved it. The little rides where ok. It is ride at your own risk as they charge per person. So if your kids cant hold on to the horse on the carousel you are paying to ride as well. But who cares it was fun
This is the most epic, authentic, fun, Lively traditional Mexican experience that you can have in Cancun with its unique Cancun/Yucatan vibe. Many shops selling amazing traditional eats of all sorts. There are artisan markets, interesting entertainers from musicians to clowns and just a really good family vibe.
I love coming here. True Cancun. Its a park where youll find child playing around and families spending time together. There are tables for eating in front of small micro restaurants/ food stalls serving authentic tacos, empanadas, tortas, aguas frescas, (havent seen any alcoholeverything you name it. It is very affordable and authentic. Tacos will commonly run 4 for $50 pesos around there. At night time there are portable food stalls selling elotes, marquesitas, crepes, flan, French fries etc. It becomes a true night market and you will see many people having dinner there with friends and family.
One of my favorite places to bring kids, outside the hotel/touristic zone. Gathering place in the city center for locals.Plenty of activities and street food.Went twice and each time there were different outdoor activities and spectacles going, for free!Definitely a must.
This place is GREAT for families! There’s live music and food, all at great prices and clean shops. For the kids there’s RV cars, Bubbles and other games sold. There are also lots of little shops to buy things at, from souvenirs to practical necessities.I highly recommend trying the Marquesitas here!
Awesome family atmosphere with entertainment with so many vendors from food to clothes and etc. definitely a must visit if your in the Cancun area.
So much authentic food options to choose from. Many locals and tourists who are comfortable exploring visit here. Loved our visit here! Take pesos or cash.Family friendly, lots of artesian stations too. Great for groups and sharing plates. There are friendly homeless who ask for left overs, so no worries if you over order.
This was the highlight of our visit to downtown Cancun. Lots of happy people and kiddos. There are great souvenir stands lining the park and fantastic churros carts. Very safe.
A good place for a stroll or a snack, like the typical marquesitas, with friends or family.
Lots of local vendors and delicious food! We were only able to stay for a couple hours because a huge thunderstorm came in but it would have been fun to stay longer. They were about to start a show on the large stage.
Great little square to visit during the evenings on the weekend. Local experience with many food stalls serving everything from tacos to churros. Will recommend this for anyone who wants a more local experience. When I was there i saw locals dancing to salsa with a live singer. Had a great time eating churros and dancing with the locals.
Variety of food, kid friendly, very nice atmosphere and good prices for souvenirs.
If you are in Cancun, this should be a must see before leaving. You get to experience a lot of culture and really great food here. Family friendly and a huge variety of food to choose from; all of which was low cost and big portions. Will definitely come back!
Such an amazing place .. if u looking for a place to enjoy a really authentic Mexican food and music and also dance along .. food there is really good with good prices..
As a tourist most people sick to the resorts and hotel zone. This local gem was one of the best things about my truck. Located in downtown Cancun away from the hustle and into the heart of Cancun. The people were there every night just having a good time. Singing dancing and just socializing. The food was amazing and cheap. I actually went there everyday I was there. Definitely recommend if ever in Cancun.
Free parking.Came here on a Sunday night so much fun.Lots of vendors, everything from corn to meat to bread to ice cream you name it.Also live music and dance. Toys, art so much to see.Definitely come here to live like local.Bring peso not sure if take dollar
Absolutely amazing! We have been here a few times, and every time, its even better. Always food, entertainment, real community, and the best deals from vendors anywhere in Cancun. Among hundreds of people, we didnt spot any other tourists. Real mexico at its finest for sure!
I had so much fun on that place ! It is full of local, you won’t see any tourist, it is why I like it ! You can eat good local food (really not expensiveand watch some great show some nights !
We had a wonderful time, and I wish we had more time to stay. So many happy people here. The vibes were unforgettable along with the music and fantastic foods. Ill be back again! 😍💖
Wonderful atmosphere, kids playing, lots of locals, great street food
Great atmosphere with the locals. Many souvenir stands with good prices. Amazing food variety.
Definitely worth visiting to try the local cuisine. You will find everything you can think of to eat, some live music, and very nice vibe. Days to come would def be the weekend. As an added bonus food is cheap.
Very Very nice place to take kiddos and enjoy a variety of things and food.
Delicious food and live music. Good prices!
Great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly. Lots of locals having fun. Good place for kids.
This was a great place to feel like youre not playing tourist anymore. Tons of food and other vendors! There were dozens of booths and huts that sold anything you could think of for much better prices than the touristy markets. They had tons of tables and seats. They rented little motorized cars that the kids were riding around on. Great atmosphere. Only open after 6pm I believe. Highly recommend coming here if you want more than just the tourist traps
So many vendors and choices in food. Theres a big stage. Often there is live music 🎶 at night. As I sat a Mariachi band one night, the next a Marimba band played for tips. It was delightful. Its kid friendly, too. In the evening there is an elotero there! 🌽 Not daytime. ¡Elotes!
I felt sad for the current situation of this park. The covid crisis forced some places and stores in this location to shut down and during the afternoon there are only a few activities to do. If you’re coming here looking for attractions for your children, you might be disappointed—the main playground is closed.
Jan 2020. Here again for nightly entertainment of kids driving electric cars. Wonderful! Safely enjoyed local lifestyle family food and fun. Visited twice, daytime and night. Get your massage here! Food, street corn, sweets, and trinkets. Loved gelato. Colorful fresh market. Yummy! Feb 2020 ice cream across the road from kids play ground THE BEST (pink building get the passionfruit and lime!!And yes he did in one night...see photos. MANGO
Its a big square with lots of street food and place to sit down. Its very cheap and delicious. For around 60 pesos 3 euros you can have a jumbo burrito or for 15-20 pesos empanadas or 40 pesos for 4 pcs of tacos, huge variety and low prices its up to your taste and choice. Definitely worth trying some nice Mexican food.
