Insane, one of the best museum experiences I’ve ever had

One of the best museum in Paris. The exhibitions are always very extended, always few text and explanation. This place is mad to show the contemporary art where you are a part of it. The building by its own worth your visit, it’s a remaining of the last international World Fare in the 1930’s

Really lovely gift shop and a wonderful vintage photobooth! We didnt go into the museum because we were short on time.

Have been to Palais de Tokyo a few times. The pictures I am sharing is regarding the last expo for Fred Jewels. The history, inspirations and the creations were beautiful and adorable. Personally appreciated their recent works such as the small personnage alot !

If you love contemporary art and video art, not only Pompidou, do not miss here. And it open hour from noon to midnight. If you visit here at night, you can also walk to the bridge in front of the musée, a great view of Eiffel tower

The worst I’ve visited! If some pieces of wood, a hairdryer and a vacuum cable hanged on a rope, between some other weird things, can be considered “art” then I am giving up…this is an agression to our mental health! Not to mention the disgusting smell (mix of spoiled soup and moldeverywhere in the building, Perhaps it was a preparation for Halloween…It’s a joke, do not go there!

Loved the FRED exhibitions and the guides!

An amazing museum. I love the collections, some deeply rooted in the Parisian early modern art creators of the XXth century, others very contemporary and fun to admire. A must see in Paris for art lovers

Beautiful architecture and location right along the Senne. Only downside is I visited during Paris Fashion Week so it was boarded up on some locations for runways

Best experience in Paris, referring to a dance-music event ("Carte blanche a Marinella Senatore. Alliance des corps"). Excellent bar, situated inside the premises (unfortunately for us, fully-booked).

Great inside. A lot of large, even huge rooms for exbibitions of all kind.

An interesting series of spaces, but the exhibitions themselves are a bit too rough around the edges and, dare I say, remind me of an end of year university show.One great thing is the fact it closes at midnight. More galleries should follow suit.However, it must be said that they have far too many security guards - at least one in each space. It was genuinely uncomfortable at times. Half of them were watching something on their phone, while the other half were royally spaced out from the lack of air conditioning.

A lot of the areas seemed to be closed. The exhibitions were very spread out. It was confusing and weird. My daughter and I did not enjoy it. It was quite warm inside and one area was downright hot. The gift shop is very cool, and was may favorite part. I was expecting something more like MoCo in Barcelona.

A museum that’s open close to midnight is a gem in my book - make sure to visit the gift shop and maybe take a phot in one of the last analog photo booths still in service

Expo reclamer la terre. Dont go here; its a fraud. Hardly 4 rooms of mediocre art. 40 degrees. Several levels closed, only one floor open. The worst place to spend your time and money.

Definitely not for everyone, interesting exhibitions and absolutely applauds to the artists, though it was very deserted and empty-feeling. The gift shop was cool, very weird too

I wasnt really impressed by the exhibition and even though there was a reduced price because there was only one floor open, I still think it was too expensive.

The temperature in the halls is unbearable. The lack of air conditioning in such a modern museum is a mockery. You pay a lot for tickets, the only thing you need to do is leave this oven as soon as possible. The exhibition itself "Reclamer la terre" is small and no special, the Cente Pompidou or the Museum of Contemporary Art are definitely more interesting - and they have decent conditions for visitors

No air movement - It must have been 35c in the exhibits. However, even if it had been air conditioned, the exhibits were very roughly done and of generally poor quality. I enjoy modern art museum, so this isn’t just a case of me not being the audience for this museum. Bad experience. Save yourself the time.

It was a little warm in there but the exhibitions were top notch

Not a bad way to spend an hour or so, but we were a little underwhelmed by the exhibitions. The cafes/restaurants looked superb, particularly the outside cafe looking towards the Siene, so all is not lost if the art isn’t for you!

Unfortunately we came during a private event for mens fashion week which we did not know. There was lots of security which kept staring at us and bothering us every time we merely looked somewhere we werent supposed to. We felt very intimidated by them. One guard even told my girlfriend who was exhausted to not sit near the staircase railing. However a moment later his colleague sat there himself! Completely incompetent security staff that is just bored and looking to harass people. Maybe we came at a bad time, because other people didnt have this experience. Also it was unclear which areas where private. They need to do a better job at placing signs instead of relying on pessimistic guards. The temporary exhibit was okay, though a bit too much video work. The book shop had a big collection but prices were inflated compared to online stores. Some books were damaged but sold at full price. If they can fix the guard problem, and youre lucky with the exhibits, it can be a good place.

Very interesting Exihibitions. I would have wished for more explanations at some point. I could follow with some of the artworks but this is critics on a high level. It was very interesting and there was a lot to see.

It was cool. Not too expensive either so for an hour or so youre somewhat entertained. If youre into art and something out of the ordinary well then this is for you.

When in Paris, this is one of the most definite must-go-places: amazing contemporary art exhibitions, good food and drinks and one the worlds most famous skate spots just in front of the museum. And yes, you can see the Eiffel Tower just opposite the river Seine!

Reclaiming earth was a nice exhibition. The others are so so .

I discovered this museum last weekend during the yearly “Night at the museums” event which is a special open house evening when you can visit some cultural places for free.I am glad I went because the architecture of the museum is quite original, with large rooms, high ceilings and concrete walls. It is located in a very nice area just a few steps away from the Trocadéro, and they have a couple very nice restaurants to enjoy a drink on a terrace with beautiful views. So you can mix a cultural and fancy night out in Paris.Note that the museum is open until very late every day (12 am I think?which is quite unusual in Paris, so you can go after work unlike many other museums.However I didn’t quite enjoy the exhibitions themselves. They were a bit too conceptual, far fetched for me, I failed to understand the message and the beauty of it. But well it’s always good to try new things :)

Its a haven for all things contemporary art...if you love discovering new artists, from various cultures and backgrounds that are doing some really ground breaking work in terms of pushing the limits of what is contemporary in the art world, you will love this place. Their book shop has some of the coolest collections of art books and merchandise!

Love the exhibition reclaim earth and the little garden patience touched my heart. We need more society projects like these. Thank you

A lot of free exhibitions with some ticket required rooms. Overall very inspiring with different kind of modern arts

I went here and was not expecting to be as inspired as I was leaving. When I went, their feature exhibits were about black history in France and highlighted a few artists that told their stories in different mediums. Truly inspiring.Further, I visited the book store, and there were so many good things to choose from. While all their exhibit space may not be filled, what they do have is good.

Not worth it!The exhibition was a big disappointment. After Louvre and Centre Pompidou we wanted to visit Palais de Tokyo as well. 3 of 6 exhibition rooms were closed or got reconstructed. The exhibitions in the 3 opened rooms wasn‘t very worth seeing. Would not recommend.

Stayed more than 3 hours in this place i enjoyed every single corner and detail

Worst art exhibition of my life. Wasted €9.Its mostly empty, with extremely few, nihilist and sad objects that could be taken from a dump.This is not art, its a waste of one of the most beautiful palaces in the center of Paris.

Wonderful contemporary art center. Among the best in the world. Eclectic and ambitious program. Confortable schedules.

A neat spot for contemporary art in Paris. Far from the usual crowds, it was a place for discovering new voices and seeing new ideas. One downside: no air conditioning, which was kind of tough on a sweltering summer day.

this place is amazing architecture! in terms of art it is a mix of bad art.the gift shop and bar are great and at night it is fun to hang out thereyoung french mixture of people to see and mingle with.

Opened in 1937, the Palais de Tokyo has suffered from decades of neglect and subsequent deterioration. Housing modern art in its early stages of life, it soon was relegated to the sidelines upon completion of the Centre Pompidou in late 70’s, which took over the role of hosting modern art exhibitions. Sitting dormant and unused for latter part of the 20th century, it has since been reinvigorated by architects Lacaton & Vassal, opening back up to the public in 2002. The stripped down structure that exposes and embraces raw materials has recently received a new expansion by the architects who breathed new life into it. More details after the break.The gallery has grown from 7000 to 22,000 square meters. Lacaton & Vassal chose to stay true to their original restoration where everything was kept raw – honesty of materiality. Thus, when they broke through into an unused basement, the remnants of the process involved with breaking through have been celebrated and left exposed, rather than plastered over. Free from the typical clean-room type atmospheres of other museums, the building elements are allowed to age unencumbered which adds to the patina of a structure that has stood for nearly a century. Though the bottom basement layers exert an almost expansive tomb-like aura, the upper levels bask in the warmth of sunlight through glass roofs.

Extraordinary place to enjoy modern/contemporary art. The expositions are well designed, placed and guided. Interaction, accessibility and diversity are well played here. The store and cafe are really nice places to a time before and after visiting.Good place to go with kids!

Great contemporary art collection. Saw several installations. Not very many people when we went in the middle.of the week, was able to enjoy the exhibits in peace and take our time. The cantine is great if you go around lunch time. Their formule menu was perfect!

Very nice cultural place! with contemporary exhibitions, large rooms. The open time is the best...till mid-night with restaurant and bookshop!Pay attention because some things like VR area attend only till 22h!

Truly interesting modern museum! When I say interesting I mean it’s well organized and thought out, mostly. There are some galleries that lead off into nowhere but for the most part the artwork is curated. It has a fresh vibe that comes with a modern artwork; meaning some of the work is comfortable and other work might push you away. That’s what modern art should do! Trust in that process. Merci!
