Palais de Chine Hotel in Taipei

My go-to every time Im in Taipei. Excellent staff.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with a baby.It is recommendable for the hospitality provided by the hotel staff, and it has easy access to the shops, restaurants and transportation.

The rooms are very spacious and romantic! They were giving out free beer as a welcome drink at check in. A fun staycation, will do it again 👍

Webber Cheng, the art tour manager, is knowledgeable about every art piece in Palais de Chine, and passionately introduced the stories behind each piece. The interaction among Webber and attendants was pleasant and delightful. And Webbers hospitality and considerate gesture really made attendants feel like coming home. I highly recommend this art tour to everyone who visits Palais de Chine.

Great service, inadequate lighting in lobby and room (too dark makes it feel creepy), the toilet feels like motel (no door between room and bathroom).expensive parking (500／day).

Amazing tour to this modern palace with fabulous collection and décors in Taipei and will definitely be my choice for next journey.

The hotel decoration is grand classical style. The hallway lighting is little dark and it lead to a cozy room with balcony and open view to courtyard. I enjoy my stay very much. The Gym, swimming pool and the friendly & helpful staff were beyond my expectation. The location and restaurants and shops nearby was great. I will come back and stay at the hotel again.

I would highly recommend this hotel, walking distance to the railway station if you are ready to explore other places in Taiwan, next to the night market and all other shopping facilities.

Classy style decor, feel pretty dark and cold. Service is good from the moment you step into the elevator. Our head waiter James is amazing, not over selling their dishes with good recommendations that are just what we need.We were all blown away by all those dim sums. You can taste the fresh ingredients, dont need any sauce. Wow! Their famous Peking Duck was good, but didnt give us the wow factor. Dessert was the same, good but not wow.A small incident. We were told it a nice way by a waitress whose wearing a skirt to keep our voice down. However, the next round table next to us was making loud noises with their alcohol. Fair enough we didnt all speak gently throughout the night. If we were really disturbing other guests, James should be the one to tell us, not this lady who havent been our table all night. This did slightly affect our dining mood.

Excellent service! The room was cozy, but a little bit dark. We joined the art tour of the hotel, which was amazing! The two guiding ladied gave detail introduction of the hotel and also the history of the art pieces. Would like to come again.

the room is perfect size and very clean. Bed is comfortable. Dinner is very huge portion and perfect cooking.

Very nice dining experience. Wonderful cousin and service. Especially love the Chopin music they play while I was dining there.

It had lots of customers to check in, so make service has a little slow. I do reservation from the call, I already mentioned I need the bed and bath tools of infants, but when I entered the room, it didn’t apears. But in the end, I will say the service is not bad, if I can, I will return to the hotel in the future.

Crazy cheap hotel prices that include 4 course steak dinner and breakfast served to you in your room. We felt like we were stealing there was so much value in our package. Service is incredibly polite and trained.The whole hotel from lobby to rooms is incredibly dark yet lighted by LEDs in the ceiling. The effect is strange. Perhaps more diffused or indirect lighting would improve. Floor lamps would make a big difference. The interior design is a mixture of European 17th to 19th century. Lots of fake wood paneling, oddly dark Greece replica statues, chandeliers, candelabra and electric sconces, very inconsistent theme. A cleaner look might have more impact. The hotel feels like youre in a cheap video game which sounds weird until youve been there.Food, comfort, and service make up for the uncomfortable design.

What kind of pool, this pool looks not like a first classes Hotel pool, looks more than a standard pool of any low budget Hotel, also no chairs to lay down actually nothing for relaxing. Please look to the pool at Hyatt-Taipei, there you can learn something. No wonder the Hyatt pool is fully booked in the weekends and in the Palais pool I was the only one..

To whom it’s is concernDear sir/madamIt is with sincere regret that I feel I must write this letter to you regarding the unprofessional and discourteous treatment that I receive from your worker趙翊喬 on 7 March 2021Last Sunday when I was Checking out she was the one that attended to me.I think you should be aware of the language that your employee 趙翊喬 is using towards the guest .On 6 March 2021 I stayed a night at your hotel.My room bathtub is leakingIt is, of course, an inconvenience; however, what has really made it unpleasant is the unaccommodating and impolite treatment I have received from your worker 趙翊喬She told me that there is nothing wrong with bathtub its was design that way, ask me not to overreact.I have told her that I am a regular guest at the hotel and I have never experience it before she then argue with me raise her voice at me in a condescending tone as if I have done something terribly wrong. All of a sudden i became the focus of attention in the room that bring forth nothing but humiliation.To make matters worse I wanted to use the voucher asI have a 600 NTdollar discount voucher she shouted at me and reprimanded me of why I did not show it when to the counter when I was checking in and took the voucher unwillingly.Being a regular hotel guestI have always been polite and courteous to each and every worker in the hotel I feel this type of behaviour is completely unwarranted and unethical for a person in any business setting especially in the hotel industry where customers service is key.I personally feel she has no place interacting with the student when she lacks the most basic sense of respect and courtesyTo sum it up I hope you can look into this matter and have the necessary action takenId love to hear what you think about this incident Your understanding and compassion regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Very good and authentic Michelin 3 Stars restaurant. Though as it’s a 3 Stars, you’ll need to make reservation WAYYYY in advance. Recommend getting the duck (2 days advance reservation required)

Dined on the 17th floor. Fancy place with great service qualities. Food is served in small portions and a whole course takes about 3 hours. Classified as a Michelin 3 star restaurant. Some people like the ambience but its a bit too dark for me.

We booked superior deluxe with king bed, requested baby crib and bath tub. They also provided us the toiletries for baby. Our room located at 15th floor with superb city view. Great value for money, there is a shopping mall downstairs, lots of possibilities to find nice food. Next to main station, easy access to everywhere. The only thing to Improve is their elevator takes quite long time. Probably it’s old building so the room was quite dim as well as the elevator, cause inconvenience for us with baby around. Super clean and nice room.

When i visit Taipei i always stay here as its very close from Taipei station. the service is good and room is a ok. maybe a bit small compare to western hotels but it has a cool vibe to it. i recommend to a couple

Taipei mall right next door. So close with lots of food and transportation options! Rooms are clean but lighting decor is a bit dark. Staff are friendly and helpful. Laundry service is expensive but a few cheaper options nearby with the help of google helped. Will come back for another stay.

If I come to this city again, I will not choose this hotel.It is a five-star hotel, and I wonder how there are no swimming pools and saunas in the hotel.Also, there is no wall between the bedroom and the bathroom in the Superior room. It is a very strange and uncomfortable structure.I was assigned an eighth-floor room and I could only see the wall of the back building outside the window. I asked for City-view, but the staff didnt seem to respond with all sincerity.There were no service like welcome fruits or free cell phone in the room.Dont expect any kind service during breakfast, either.When I was having breakfast, I asked for coffee and the staff told me "there is a coffee machine at the corner".What other five-star hotels offer this kind of service? :(

The location of the hotel is great! The concierge staff is amazing. Loved the hotel - but giving it 4 stars as the lighting in the room (we stayed in an executive suitewas particularly bad - especially when trying to put on make- up.

There for wedding banquet and as a vegetarian, the dishes served were filled with effort by the team of chefs. The fact that ingredients were not filled with fake meat tells the careful design of menus. Food was outstanding, ambience was great and classy, not over the top at all. It was a memorable experience. Definitely worth recommending.

It was a decent stay overall. I used to stay in Regent but because that was fully booked I got this hotel. The room was ok. During my check-in I informed about my early morning checkout and the people at reception told that I will get the breakfast box without even asking and I informed them about my vegetarian dietary requirements. Also, settling the bils a night before checkout, I informed them again and to my surprise what I get is the breakfast box with some meat in it. I wouldn’t have felt bad if there was no breakfast box provided instead of me wasting and throwing the food away. Also another surprise followed, the hotel staff helped me in getting taxi which were parked outside the hotel to airport and after arriving at airport, the taxi driver refused to provide the receipt saying that hotel staff didn’t mentioned about recipt and later found out that he was also driving without meter. I was thinking probably I will prefer this hotel for my next stay but now feel with the provided service I have to stay with Regent only.

Currently my favorite hotel in Taipei. The restaurant, before it was recognized as a Michelin 3 star, was my wife’s favorite haunt. We would revisit again and again during her pregnancy. The service is warm and the food delicious. It has become very popular and require advance reservations, ill suited for someone like me who like to call 5 minutes in advance. Alas.

Wonderful city view and good location. The room is very comfortable. We stayed one night here after enjoyed the delicious steak and lobster in the restaurant. Service staff are kind with smiling face 😊

Palais de Chine is an awesome hotel in Taipei. The location is very convenient and right next to a hot mall and metro stations.Their design is one of the most unique hotels Ive stayed at... a bit of gothic fantasy, hobbit LOTR, and castle themes from all over. From the entrance to the lobby, conference rooms, restaurant, and rooms, it is all very special and comfy. I would say the rooms themselves are a bit too dark, but the staff kindly brought us another lamp immediately!The concierge staff is friendly and attentive (fantastic). I had nice conversations with all of them and they often went out of their way to help me call a taxi or research where to find a specialty electronic store.They have a very nice Michilin Star restaurant on top, but I found the girl working as the hostess was quite cold and not nice. The staff in the business center were super nice though.A final point... check out the crazy horse-work out machine in their gym on the top floor!Highly recommend this hotel!

This is a beautiful hotel however my 4 ⭐️ rating is due to personal preference. You see the lighting of the entire place is low, its an ambience thing but I could not get used to it. So if you are used to a brighter room, this may be a little uncomfortable.That aside the decor, the room, facilities and food is top notched. This hotel is next to Q Square and the Central Bus Station. In the Q Square mall theres 7 floors of retail however mostly domestic brands. You can find some international brands in their Department Store but choices are limitedThe hotel service is excellent, I asked the front office staff for location advice after giving me the information I needed she walked me out to get a cab. Hours later when I got back she greeted me and asked whether I found what I was looking for.Only experienced the hotel buffet breakfast however I must say that its one of the better ones in terms of spread and taste.

One of the best places to stay in Taipei. The location is great as it is right next to the main train station. Every staff in this place is well trained and nice. Breakfast is not the best but still good. The room condition is exceptional. A little dark inside, but it could be good for some people who like the environment. This hotel deserves its 5 star rating.

Stunning hotel in a highly convenient location. The place is full of atmosphere and refinement - truly a unique experience when so much travel these days can feel sanitized and impersonal. The decor theme chosen by the hotel (European castle luxurymay be unexpected, but it is quite consistently delivered and engaging. The staff and service are superb. The rooms are truly plush and comfortable. Room service could include a few more Asian dish options, but is otherwise very nice. An excellent experience throughout, highly recommended.

From the moment I stepped into the elevator, it provided me a Harry Potter fantasy. Theres no other hotels in Taiwan display such an unique settings. Its elegant and romantic as well. The food here are also good.

Its a beautiful property and a well maintained one. Right from leaving the cabs to the check-in , it is a pleasant experience and a helping hand is always a good thing. The reception is grand with super Chinese style lights. Adjoining to that is a huge restuarant for breakfast with a courteous staff. Make sure to ask them for a jet spray while you check-in OR a Japanese style toilet. The only drawback is that the bath tub is right next to the main door and it has no door, so dont even think about sharing the room other than your partner. They give you a smartphone for travel to be used for unlimited international calls, internet and messages. I am staying here for 3 nights and already getting good vibes. Cheers!!

We were extremely happy with our 3 night stay at Palais de Chine Hotel. Service is remarkably impressive. We came to Taiwan to celebrate our anniversary and taken by surprise. We were upgraded on arrival to an Executive Deluxe Double room for our anniversary and were offered a complimentary bottle of wine in our room as a special treat. BIG THUMBS UP!Albert, the front office duty manager was waiting to welcoming us and wish us a good stay, staffs were very helpful and friendly.Room was spectacular, was well insulated from the busy traffic outside. Good free WiFi and lots of TV channels available if you decided to stay in for the day. The well-equipped gym on 17th floor with a nice view was excellent. About 3 mins walk to the Taipei Main Station, walking distance to nearby shopping area too.Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

Great location with excellent service. Its same building with Taipei long bus terminal. Lower floor connect with Taipei train station, high speed train station and Taipei subway. Easy to find various food and department store at lower floor.Provide free handy phone in room for traveller. You can carry it out during your stay, book ticket, check map and enjoy free local and international call. Suitable for family holiday, business trip.

Great hotel with excellent service. Each room is pretty large size with a great design. Room is clean and has good amenities. Bathroom has a large bathtub and a shower too. Hotel includes a gym which is great and is located in a good location beside the train station. Highly recommended!

I loved it! Check out their website for deals - I got a great deal for breakfast, an executive floor room, and a Michelin lunch at palais de chine (amazing!). Note though that their free airport shuttle stops at 6PM.Breakfast at la rotisserie was amazing, go early because there’s plenty of options. They have a gym with a nice view on the top (17thfloor. Great service all around and really interesting decor and experience.Only negatives was that it was a bit TOO dark in the rooms, and the AC was sort of hard to manage. Nothing major though. Would absolutely stay again next time in Taipei!

Some of the rooms have lots of traffic noise, which makes it difficult to sleep. Ask for one that doesnt face the street. Difficult to find hotel initially despite downloading and following the directions on their website. Lighting controls in the room odd and difficult to use. Check in process inefficient and annoying, we were asked to leave until check in time at 3pm, came back at 4 asked again for our passport information, then asked to sit and wait.... waited over 20 minutes with no explanation regarding what was happening. We eventually asked to speak to the manager and he did do a good job to rectify the situation. He explained the hotel had been very full and provided us a late checkout. He was quite friendly and concerned about the situation. The other staff could learn communication skills from him. The manager Deric did a great job, but there are better friendlier places to stay in taipei.

Although it is located on the quieter side of Taipei Main Station, this hotel is well maintained and thematic. Its Halloween decor fits the season well but I highly suspect these fixtures are permanent — dark alleys, wood panels, and elaborate French sculptures. The executive room is huge and has an open shower / bath tub concept. Staying with friends or relatives may be an issue. Otherwise, this hotel is within walking distance to the Ningxia night market. Breakfast is reasonable but limited for my diet. Great experience.

Outstanding experience, stayed at this hotel this summer for like maybe 3 weeks, everything was great, the staff is really attentive and want to do good.The food is amazing, in-room service and top 3 michelin star restaurant were both delightful.Great room, with all you need, wonderful decoration,They even made me a special strawberry tart for the French national day !Thanks to all the staff, keep up the good job

Great 5-star hotel sited in the core district in Taipei, just the intersection of old and new !The friendly and professional staff always carry smile, and the designs of the rooms were in a way of harmonious coexistence of old and new. We enjoyed our stay in a comfy and spacious ambiance !The capability of soundproofing was also a suprise to us, as our little son had to take a nap every day. We cant hear any noise from the busy roads outside and from other hotel guests nearby inside !Greatly recommended for families as they always cater for the needs of children, although the playing corner situated in 12/F was a tad small.

I would like to recommend the afternoon tea ticket which I bought on the internet. It cost 17xx for 2 people. The shrimp, desserts and service are excellent. The interior design and atmosphere are very good for a date. Dont worry the darkness when you wanna take a group pics. Very classy hotel that has a nice French atmosphere. Rooms are spacious and luxurious. Good bed, Nice bath and shower. The lighting controls are incomprehensible. The location of the hotel is great for exploring Taipei as it is next to the Maine station and there are plenty of taxis in front of the hotel. Hotel staff is friendly and polite and speaks decent English. Breakfast is plenty of choice and a good mixture of Western and Asian dishes. Overall the hotel feels really dark, due to the selection of materials. I would certainly consider returning here if I go to Taipei again.

It has its standards, so you wont be expecting anything less. However, the CP value is extremely low, as you might get the same stuff outside but at about half the price? Anyhow, the food here is great, at a great price.The wedding ceremony held here is pretty good, but double the price you can get elsewhere. This is, however, at a great location, so all your friends from around Taiwan can get here with public transportation.

Upscale boutique hotel w very nice cozy rooms, dark wooden panels w both carpet n marble floors. Service staff is very warm n hearty, n always w a genuine smile. Thoughts have been given to designing all the little details in the room. All rooms are no smoking. I will stay here again in my next trip back.

I stayed the day after Christmas, so it was quite packed. Even after arriving at 3pm, we had to wait a bit for our room to be ready. That said, the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. For example, I brought my daughter and one of the front desk staff gave her a balloon shaped like a puppy. When we finally got our room, the front desk manager escorted us to our rooms and coordinated all our luggages (we reserved three rooms). Thats pretty dedicated service for any hotel.As for the rooms, its intentionally dim and romantic. Our bed was fitted with side guards to prevent young infants from falling down, so they do cater to children, but you have to make that request during the reservation.Overall I think this hotel is worthy of its five star rating, certainly a lot better service and attention to detail both in terms of decor and service than your average five star. Worth staying if you are in Taipei.

This hotel is located at such a convenient location, right next to a mall and an MRT station. I really enjoyed being able to walk over to the mall and shop around/ eat whenever I had downtime. The inside of the hotel is decorated really nicely and the service is extremely courteous. The rooms seemed like they were intended more for couples than for families, since there was no divider between the bathroom and the room, which seemed kind of odd to me. The dinner buffet was not as good as I expected, and quite pricey too. Overall, I think this is a great hotel and I would definitely recommend staying here.
