Palacio del Marqués Villena - National museum in Valladolid, Spain
A very architecturally beautiful building well worth visiting.Even if you are not religious the detailing in the artifacts are incredible reflecting the amazing craftsmanship of the times. The central courtyard was my favourite and the steps leading upwards .Also the absolutely wonderful choirstalls.I am very glad we visited however...Made to feel like criminals on the way around as observed at every step by the ladies who man the various rooms. We understood completely despite having limited Spanish that it is forbidden to touch anything and had no intention of doing so.Felt so sad ended visit early.
Really terrific place with an emphasis on religious sculptures but many paintings as well. Has a couple buildings, I saw the permanent collection and the separate nativity room. Items date to 12th century, with some knockout pieces. In a beautiful area in a beautiful city. Good staff. Free on Sundays - go at opening - 10am - as it gets crowded by noon.
One of the best collections of renaissance and baroque sculptures Ive ever seen. A true gem in the world of museums.
Free entrance!
The museum was incredible! But the guy in the front desk was unbarable! Did not help us at all! Was rude and arrogant!
Its the entrance to heaven. What a beautiful place and lot of treasures inside. I highly recommend if you love history
A nice place to visit with a big amount of sculptures. They people are very friendly and will explain you everything if it is nessecery
Installed in the San Gregorio College, founded by Friar Alonso de Burgos , confessor of Queen Isabel, and which in itself is an outstanding work of Isabelian gothic style . Again, building and its contents are rivals for attention. The entrance attributed to Gil de Siloe and Simon de Colonia, is high high point of Spanish art. In the interior, the visitor will delight in the unique and surprising pieces from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries . Works by Berruguete, Felipe Vigarny, Diego de Siloe and Juan de Juni fill to overflowing the halls in this magnificent presentation of Spanish statues.
Sorprendente.
A unique collection of sculpture & alter pieces. Beautiful building.
One of the most important museums in Valladolid. Amazing art works to discover of the Spanish culture.
It is a must visit if you like art, particularly religious art. It is magnificent!!! It is worth while. Dont miss it or you will repent!!!
It may be nice inside but we could not visit it because the very impolite people at the entrance did not let my 6 year old pass, who has a medical exemption, without the mask. Hostile and inhumane.
A jewel in Valladolid
Excelent exhibition of unique works of arts.
