Palacio Barón & Balbín Cienfuegos in Cienfuegos

Excelente hotel. Una joya del patrimonio arquitectónico de la ciudad. Excelente atención. Ubicado en el corazón de Cienfuegos. Muy céntrico

Este hotel es absolutamente maravilloso. Jamas habiamos estado en un lugar como èste y dudo que nos alojemos en algún lugar similar alguna otra vez.La arquitectura es espectacular (se trata de un palacio del siglo XIX extraordinariamente conservado). A ello se suma las brutales vistas desde la terraza, la extrema limpieza, los deliciosos desayunos y cenas (sin duda las mejores que tuvimos en Cuba -cuentan con un chef-y su céntrica localizaciòn . Pero lo mejor es el trato. Realmente se preocupan por sus huéspedes.Tenéis que alojaros aquí. Tendréis una de las mejores experiencias posibles en Cuba

Das Haus ist super restauriert und man fühlt sich in den 7m hohen und reichlich verzierten Räumen in eine andere Zeit versetzt. Man logiert wie in einem Palast. Die Dachterrasse bietet einen herrlichen Ausblick über Cienfuegos. Das Frühstück war gut.

Its a well restored historical building with friendly and helpful staff. Theres even a friendly hotel dog named Negri in the outer terrace.The breakfast is excellent: eggs, ham, cheese, pancake with honey, lots of local fruits, coffee and guava juice.The sizable room we had was towards the back. Charmingly appointed in retro style. The shower, however, was above an antique bathtub and did not have a curtain or shower screen, so showering was a bit messy with water splashing beyond the bathtub. A toilet seat would have been much welcomed, according to my other half.In the evening, we could go up to the half-finished roof terrace for wonderful views of Cienfuegos and sunset.I liked Cienfuegos more than Havana because the people took pride in the sidewalks in front of their houses and kept them tidy and clean, and the main square is lovely. Be sure to spend a night or two here.

An eccentric yet superb palace with great rooftop views and Pina coladas!

This place was better than what we expected in so many different ways. We were given such a warm welcome from Leticia who is the manager. She even thanked our taxi driver for brining us from Havana safely! This set the tone for the short stay we had in this amazing palace! What a palace it was!! We were then provided with the amenities you received for living at Baron Balbin, which include private chefs dedicated to you’re culinary needs! If they don’t have what you want, then they will make sure they go and get it for you. The service we received was among the best I have ever come across. We later met Jose who owns the property; he gave us a full tour and history behind it. All the rooms have original features from the late 1900 – It was such a stylish colonial feel! I felt like I was taken back in time, but with a modern twist! Exactly what we were looking for. Jose was such a lovely guy, he reassured both my partner and me to treat the palace like our own! Allowed us to go up to the roof terrace (which was under constructionand ensured we had everything we needed. He also arranged transportation for us to get to Trinidad and back - We had our own driver who drove us there and came back to pick us up. He also arranged us transportation to Varadero within minutes!I cannot recommend this place enough! Massive thank you to Jose and Leticia for an amazing stay! I will definitely come back!

The Palacio Barón & Balbín is, even though it was under partly construction during my visit, a very impressing building which represents the former wealth when sugar cane industry was at his prime time.The lovely restauration kept all the nice little parts from the colonial period like original furniture combined with a modern standard.The view from the tower is just terrific, it is the best view over Cienfuegos you can get. The staff is very friendly, especially Eliana, the manager and Luis, who mixes delicious cocktails. They gave some very helpful hints where to go and what to see in town. It was a great stay! Highly recommend!

We met great, friendly, open and helpful people, especally Luis and Eliana made our stay to a wonderful experiance. The terrace offers the best view over Cienfuegos you can have - absolutely amazing! The hotel is clean, luxory but not expensive. Luis mixed the best Mojito we had on our complete Cuba tour.Last but not least: we are really thankfull for the interresting, relaxing and great talks we had and wish you all the best for the future.We defenately can recomment the Hotel.Thanks for the great time!
