Palace of Peace and Reconciliation - Cultural centre in Atasu, Kazakhstan
The Pyramid itself is closed for renovations since 28/05. I was there two hours before
Epics
Lovely glassed pyramid
Good vibes there
Had an enormous pleasure attending the Kulanshi Art Center which is located on the Täuelsizdik 57 Street. Id like to dedicate this post to Dr. Leyla Mahat for the inspiration ☺🥰🤗. A small hint for the Art lovers, the building itself is in a shape of a Pyramide 🤩 it is beautiful not only during the day but at night as well. For those who likes bright colours -> you should definitely walk around Nur-Sultan after the sun goes down 🥰😉
A beautiful building with a very worthwhile aim in mind. Includes a concert venue and a small, interesting museum of religious items
The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation also translated as the Pyramid of Peace and Accord, is a 62-metre-high (203 ft) pyramid in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, that serves as a non-denominational national spiritual centre and an event venue. Designed by Foster and Partners, with a stained glass apex and windows by architectural artist Brian Clarke, the Palace was constructed to house the triennial Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, and completed in 2006.Built by Sembol Construction at a cost of 8.74 billion Kazakh tenge (approx. $58 million), the project was conceived as a permanent venue for the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which meets triennially in a purpose-built conference chamber at the apex of the pyramid. In 2011 and 2013, the International Astana Action Film Festival was held in the Palace.
The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation was conceived as a permanent venue for the Congress and a global centre for religious understanding, the renunciation of violence and the promotion of faith and human equality.
Bought one of the tombs here as a timeshare, beautiful! But when I asked to be buried closer to the Supreme Leader, they tried charging me even more money. Make sure you get the best spot for your afterlife and ask for Sanzhar for the serf discount!!
The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation (Kazakh: Бейбітшілік пен келісім сарайы, Beibıtşılık pen kelısım saraiy), also translated as the Pyramid of Peace and Accord, is a 62-metre-high (203 ft) pyramid in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, that serves as a non-denominational national spiritual centre and an event venue. Designed by Foster and Partners,[1] with a stained glass apex and windows by architectural artist Brian Clarke,[2] the Palace was constructed to house the triennial Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, and completed in 2006.Built by Sembol Construction at a cost of 8.74 billion Kazakh tenge (approx. $58 million), the project was conceived as a permanent venue for the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which meets triennially in a purpose-built conference chamber at the apex of the pyramid. In 2011 and 2013, the International Astana Action Film Festival was held in the PalaceThe pyramid portion of the building is 62m high and sits on a 15-metre-high (49 ft)[citation needed] earth-covered block. All of this construction is above ground level. Though the landscaping of the Presidential Park rises up to cover the lower levels, these are not in fact basements. The structure is made up of five "stories" of triangles, each of which is 12 m per side. The lower portions, three "stories" of triangles, are clad in pale granite. The upper two rows of triangles, four triangles per side, are clad in 9700 square feet of stained glass,[4] an artwork by architectural artist Brian Clarke which forms the glazed apex,[5] and incorporates ceramic glaze screen-printed imagery of doves in flight,[6] as do the twenty eight diamond-shaped stained glass windows on the four sides of the lower level of the building, which total 1076 square feet.Construction is of steel frame for the pyramid and concrete for the lower levels. The engineers had to design the building to withstand expansion and contraction due to temperature variations of over 80 °C, from -40 to over 40 °C - leading to an expansion of the building of up to 30 cm.[7] Due to the extreme climate of the city, the engineers locked down one corner of the pyramid, and placed the three other corner on bridge bearings, a common technique for building bridges, but used in a building for the first time.
I was astonished by this Pyramid of Peace designed by British architect Foster during my trip to Kazahkastan. It is built 62 meters above the ground and has overcome the challenge of variation of surrounding temperature of 80c (-40c to +40cin Nur Sultan. It hosts different religions: Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Daoism and other faiths; and expresses the spirit of Kazakhstan, where cultures, traditions and representatives of various nationalities coexist in peace, harmony and accord. It is not only a success of building technology but also a symbol of faith and human equality.
Excellent English speaking guide.Learnt a lot about Kazakhstan.
This is one of Kazakhstans greatest monument! This place is a must go for anyone visiting this underrated country. The scenery is astonishing!
Beautiful pyramid style building called palace and nicely organized. Clean and tidy.
Beautiful. The are many activities you can do here. You can take a morning jog around the park and then head to the mall for breakfast. Or, you can also just chill outside and eat some ice creams. This park is big, so wear appropriate walking shoes!
Do not get lost like we did, the entrance of this museum is just in front of the palace of independence, we walked all the way around jajajja. This museum is also included in your city pass, and come with a guided tour. The problem is that the tour was really fast, she kind of just wanted to finish and with english not being her mother lenguaje it was really hard to understand her, even thought they have a lot of things to watch the tour guide move us quite fast.Over all is a really interesting building that they use for international peace meetings and forums.
Interesting excursion, nice design.
Lovely place, such an amazing piece of art
Great place. Like Theatre 🎭
Incredible place. It is essential to visit it both at daytime and at night to see the area lighting.
It was spacious and still under construction. But overall experience was good love the architecture.
Great architecture and great museum guid
Been there for an exhibition and noticed how spacious it is but not much to see. Though, truly liked what I had seen.
This entire city was designed & built according to Illuminati guidelines. From the direction in which certain structures face (East)to the shapes of others. All with occult meanings & symbolism.
I dont understand why there is the buliding is a triangle, there is something behind this after WW3
The staff speaks good English
Has a beautiful park next to it
It was closed for some event. If you are approaching it from the upper, park level (ie not street levelyou will not see any signs for direction to the entrance, which is on East side at street level.
Very beautiful place for lovers and children and for morning walk. People spend here 2to 3 hours.the river is near it.
Amazing landmark! So astonishing compared to anything Ive seen before! Great for photos but havent been inside as it was under construction unfortunately.
I tried going in yesterday. Seems like there are some repairs going on so I couldnt get it. Very nice building though.
for something thats supposed to be quiet i sure did a lot of screaming. the staff were powerless to stop me,
Havent chance to get inside. But from outside is very beautiful building. So much space in this city, not crowded with buildings and people. Just love it.
A surreal and wonderful building, where we went to see a surreal and wonderful ballet! It is true that the external architecture is a little more impressive than the interior, but this is still an excellent place to visit and take in a show.
Very good place. Attended concert here.
Very nice building from outside. Inside is less exciting. But the guides are very funny and nice. I love their dresses, they look like coming from Thunderbirds. The office in the top is nice. You can sit in the seat of the president.
It’s very beautiful and simple construction, which has shape of pyramid , and the way of elevator goes like in Eiffel Tower )
Quite interesting construction and idea behind. Loved the way the elevator goes from one side to another, and the flora on top was quite impressive.
Insteresting bulding, pyramide design, looks unusual, was cold couldnt visit this place (
Guided tour was interesting, didnt take more than 30 minutes. Ticket costs are very low at 600 tenge. Extremely helpful staff, they helped us get a taxi when we couldnt figure it out ourselves, walking us to the correct location themselves, even though they had just gotten off work and were most likely tired.
Very nice place, we had a private guided tour. Tickets are at a good price (about 1-2€ for adults).
Very impressive building, beautiful inside and it was great that we coukd get an English speaking guide who was very informative. Definately a must see if you come to Astana
The tour is very dry and political. Very boring content inside with not much to see.
Inside this pyramid shaped palace, there is a gallery of traditional wedding dresses from different parts of the world, some random Egyptian artifacts, then an opera hall, a floor with various plants, another floor with a sculpture exposition, and a round table for meetings of religious leaders. A diagonally moving lift is perhaps the most original attraction you will find in this palace. Skip unless you have nothing else to do in Astana and want to kill time, or need a place to hide from the rain. The entrance in on the right side of the building when looking at it, with the Independence Square behind your back, which is a bit confusing. One ticket costs 600 tenge.
There are no clear signs of where the entrance is! And following Google maps wont help you. Unless you get a taxi, you wouldnt be able to find the entrance and will end up searching for it for half an hour like we did.
Enormous and beautiful masterpiece of architecture! Never saw anything similar.
Calm and serene palace. Astounding architecture and splendid interior. Love it !
Nice place, very beautiful arquitecture! Great pyramid!
This is another symbol of Astana, well designed and constructed. There is a concert hall at the lowest floor.
The place inside is so empty. The crazy elevator is just ridiculous. Security guys are very rude. But the stairs with all those plants and the windows are amazing. In general, this place is okay.
