One of he most interesting place to visit in Buchurest. The building is huge and I think it is the second largest in the world.Impressive interior with one huge room after another including monumental staircases and reception halls, many beautifully decorated. The Buildings interior is simply stunning. All the chandeliers and carpets in here are beautiful. All the floors and walls are marble. Worth visiting!

Amazingly huge, can not even imagine how huge it really is. It’s called the heaviest building in the world, with the whole palace designed with marbles. One of the landmarks ordered by Nicolae Ceaușescu, together with the long span of fountains and the big square in from of the palace of parliament. They say the palace was completed only a big part of the original design. And Ceausescu’s master plan included many other structures and landmarks besides it, with a total area slightly bigger than Venice. The palace of parliament has more depth underground than the height above the ground and has 1100+ rooms. Everything inside the palace is huge, huge marble structure, huge curtains, huge carpets, huge staircases, huge chandeliers. They say only 3% is used regularly and only 45% is ever utilized. It’s also said that the lower parts of the palace is connected to a huge underground tunnel network that takes you out of Bucharest city.

This is an immense structure, second only in mass to the Pentagon. It was the result of extreme ambition. Several churches were literally wheeled away by clever and determined engineers, to protect them from the destruction this project wrought, in response to the desire of people determined to hold on to their community heritage. The building is huge, extravagant and very quirky. It is heavily clad in marble, adorned generously with flamboyant chandeliers, and much decoration, with leather and hardwood furnishings, and elaborate ceilings. No doubt there are many secret corners and passageways.

Worth visiting! Second biggest building in the world, after the White House in USA. Made by the former president of Romania, Nicolae Ceausescu, between 1970-1989.About 1 million people have worked for building the structure. Three mountains have been destroyed for the marble stones used inside. The electricity bill is 1 million euros per month. Hundreds kg of gold has been used inside. Before you decide visiting, check out the available visitation times and days. The pictures and videos above are from the side of the building that is not allowed for the tourist visitors, is that side of the building dedicated for Senate.Anyway, the side allowed for visiting is still worth visiting. Must come here!

I recommend The Palace of the Parliament (Palatul Parlamentuluibecause is one of the top tourist attractions in Bucharest. It is the worlds second-largest administrative building (after the Pentagon), an architectural colossus that also claims the title as the heaviest building in the world.Boasting more than 3,000 rooms over 330,000 square meters and constructed with marble and steel, it was originally called the Peoples House by its visionary, the dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, who used it as his familys residence and as the seat of his government. To complete it, Ceausescu razed places of worship, workshops, factories, parks, part of the Old Town, and entire neighborhoods. More than 20,000 workers and 700 architects worked on the opulent Neoclassical-style palace over a span of 13 years, from 1985 to 1997, during which time the majority of Romanians faced poverty.Still unfinished, today a small portion houses Romanias parliamentary headquarters and the National Museum of Contemporary Art. Scheduled tours bring visitors up close to its vastness, the kitsch, and the outrageous luxury Ceausescu would have continued to experience had he not been overthrown in a coup détat. I love it 💕😘

This is definitely one of the main attractions in the city. Unfortunately I didnt get a chance to go inside. Its a nice walk from Bulevardul Unirii to the parliament building. Alternatively, you can ride this scooter on the Boulevard, and can cover more ground that way.

You must call one day before your visit to make a reservation. Cars are not allowed inside if you don’t have a government pass, but you can park in the front of the building, next to the bus stop. Don’t forget your ID, you won’t be permitted inside. There was only one tour available due to the reconstruction, 40 lei pp, 1 hour. The English tour guide was soo cool, he gave us a lot of additional info and answered all questions very thoroughly. The palace itself is not as impressive as the the facts we learned.

Definitely recommend the tour. I was skeptical, but it was worth it. Calling ahead to book is a must! We saw lots of people get turned away who showed up without a booking. Call the day before, and call early when they open. Don’t waste money through a tour service - just call the palace directly. The history of the palace isn’t very happy, but the building is truly impressive. Pictures do not do the palace justice. It’s so incredibly huge. Our tour guide, Francisc L was fantastic. If you have him, you’ll be in great hands.

Historic and worth visiting building. But you can’t really enjoy it since it was built during the worst period of Romanian history . Well preserved rooms and amphitheaters, so luxurious that you can’t even imagine . Most of the rooms are not accessible to public. You can visit this monument only with a guided tour (ok price, normal). I was furious after the tour because our guide did not even mention once the revolution of the people against the dictator. He explained us that people were willing to work for that monument and he even tried to pass that Nadia Comaneci was enjoying her time there. Anyway , read the history beforehands and admire the architecture and art while visiting. Probably no.1 landmark of Bucharest .

A nice historic place of Bucharest, unfortunately the tours are done by the government so theres not much else to learn then kubic meters of a and liters of b. I suggest doing some reading before going in there, theres lots of interesting things to learn about it which the tour wont tell you. The place looks great, is well maintained and getting in is fairly easy

Easily the biggest building I’ve ever seen or stepped foot in! Usually I feel tall in European buildings but this one made me feel like small city on the world map. The tour went by quickly since you only get to see a fraction of the building but the rooms that you get to see are all unique and of course very large.

This building is a must for those visiting Bucharest and surely for those who want to understand the contemporary history of Romania. Tours are guided by English speaking guides who are knowledgeable. In our case the guide was just repeating by heart the script of the tour, but it was still enough. Despite the low number of spaces they let you visit, the quality (and sizeof those is beyond normal. Highly recommended.

A must-see in Bucharest, but we were told by our guide from another tour that the winter palace is more worthy of a visit than the Palace of Parliament. However, we found this visit very interesting nonetheless, although it does seem a ginormous waste of money and materials, and the people in Bucharest suffered a lot, apparently, but its construction, with many losing their houses or even their lives. We bought our tickets on TripAdvisor and everything went fine. Dont miss it, since its slowly "sinking" and, according to the guide, it will eventually collapse in around 20 years...

The heaviest construction in the world it is believed to be. Well you say it. It is enormous. It is beautiful however from the behind there is just a wild forest quite trashy. It would be nice if they took care of it to make it more relaxing place to go and chill in the nature. It is also quite sad that the national gallery is closed Monday and Tuesday. Just the two days that we are visiting for.. 😔

A must see in Bucharest.Only the basic tour is offered due to the COVID19 restrictions. It´s an hour visit, covering only 3% of the total surface and a 2 kilometers walk around jaw-dropping interiors. It´s beyond colossal. The outside of the building exhibits already serious decay and damages. Inside the situation is better. It´s quite mind puzzling to know that the construction is still not completed.Highly recommeded.

massive as very few buildings in the world, seen almost from any possible angle, made from greed and by peoples blood and famine, preserved after the fall and now serves as a multiexhibition hall. Get there early , book a ticket , it is not expensive and follow the tour, it is very interesting, marbles gold, huge rooms and lots of stairs. The view from the roof is stunning

Amazing palace of parliament with interesting history. 2nd biggest administrative building in the world. Most expensive building in the world. About 1million cubic metres of marble used. 1000s of rooms but tours only take you to some of the nice one. usually tours take 2 hours but if events being hosted. The screenshot shows the gate for entrance to the parliament for tours. Remember to bring your original passport, no exceptions. Tours mainly in English but some days can be in Spanish. Book tour a day before by calling. Usually they have enough spots to fit you in for English tours.

The Palace of the Parliament is a must-see sight for any one visiting Bucharest. It is indeed a majestic building! It is supposedly world’s second largest administrative building after Pentagon and world’s heaviest building. The building took almost 13 years to complete with over 20 thousand workers and 700 architects worked tirelessly. It was commissioned by the the Romanian leader Nicholas Ceauşescu.I couldn’t get to go inside unfortunately (shame I was so longing to go insideas there was some event/conference was going on; tickets for May and June were already sold out it seems! The entrance was not where you see a long row of fountains, but on the side ways. The building is colossal and grand. I would highly recommend to go and see it if you are in Bucharest!

This is truly a spectacular building. It is said to be the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon. Large sweeping staircases, marble throughout, grand rooms beautifully done. It is truly impressive, sits on 12 acres of grounds and is placed so that it is a showplace.Lots of stories on this building from the communist era and its construction and what it cost the Romanian people. For a small fee you can take photographs but it is well worth it. The tour takes about 3-4 hours and it is easily accessible for even the most limited travelers. The staircases are wide and easy to climb and not intimidating at all.

Giant and remarkable building. From outside it looks like a palace of comunistic imperor but actually its not (only for parliament). The heaviest and second largest governmental building in the world. We took an guide trip inside but it was not so informative. Just visited some halls and corridors (3% of all space). Now there are kind of show rooms and offices to rent for any purpose, even for wedding or birthday of your dog.

Enjoyed a lot! Need ID and reservation (if possible or crowded). The entrance is north side, and I did not find it on east or south. From the parking lot located east side, it will take fifteen or twenty minutes to get to the ticket booth. So be prepared for your schedule. At the booth, after they confirmed my reservation, I was guided to the souvenir shop to pay the fee by credit card. The guide is very kind and welcoming tourists. She explained many things in English very fluently, which was very easy-to-listen and understood. It takes an hour from start to finish. Worthwhile to visit!

Its a fascinating building, very imposing. In order to visit it you have to go with a group and guide, you cannot visit it by yourself, but its better this way because you can learn a lot from the guide about the history of the building. The most beautiful room is the one with the largest and heaviest (5 tones kgcandelabra. If you visit Bucharest, Palace of Parliament is a must see!
