Pajo's Fish and Chips (Rocky Point Park) - Fish & chips shop in Anmore, Canada
Pretty good, a little expensive but such is the cost of location. Wont tickle your desire for British fish and chips because the batter is different but it is good anyways
Next to Rocky Point Park at Port Moody. This cute restaurant serves fish & chips, burger, taco, drinks, etc. Tried their Cod with fries and ginger beer. Surprisingly delicious 🤤. Highly recommend!! The table is well designed for holding the food! Simple and very smart!
Great food!Fish and Chips (Halibut was amazing)Cheese Burger was so delicious! The service was fast and we didn’t have to wait for long time!I like the food so much! The price was okay, not so cheap and not so expensive as well!
What a catch!!I LOVE the fact this joint is 100% Vancouver Aquarium Oceanwise Certified and only sells sustainable seafood which was the reason for visiting here, they also have a great selection and range for veggies too! All cutlery is compostable or recyclable and they have a great selection of condiments. I was stoked to see they also have hot sauce. The tempura-style batter is great, no greasy aftertaste but all the flavor. Fish and fries were super yummy, incredibly flavorsome and a knockout lunch for a sunny Saturday, they made our day! Portions are very plentiful and incredible service with a smile whipping up great grub in a down to earth, no fuss and fantastic water-side restaurant. I also opted for a second piece of cod which was extremely fresh, juicy and flavorsome and great value.Fingers crossed for my review coming out in their dope Google Reviews seasonal draw!Support local businesses and shop sustainable!
Always great fish and chips with a glass of fresh lemonaide
The soggiest piece of fish I’ve ever had. Couldn’t even pick it up without it falling to pieces. Had this problem the first time and thought it was just an off day, but after today it’s confirmed probably always this bad.
I am a huge fan of Pajo’s. My husband and I come here at least once a week for our fish and chips fix. The fish tastes fresh and the fries are rather tasty. I recommend this place for fish and chips! They also have other options like burgers, tacos, and sides! 10/10 recommend.
Ordered the one piece Halibut with fries. The fish was crispy and piping hot. It was also really soft and juicy. Unfortunately, everything was super oily and greasy. The fries were soggy and the fish batter was soaked with oil. It was okay and a decent meal in the park, however not the best.
Staffs are so unfriendly. They didn’t care long line ups and let people wait for 10 minutes to make orders. The staff yelled number with angry face. It’s so loud so everyone sit far awayThe french fries taste bad and cold. Just waste $30. Better to go to white spot for other restaurants nearby.
Overpriced and overrated. Fish are plain. Chips are not that crispy.
I go here pretty often for the fish and chips. Try the batter fried cod and chips, with a side of gravy. If you dont know which fish to pick - theres an option of a mix of Salmon, Halibut and Cod which is great. Skip the tacos and the burgers and go for the fish here. Super fresh every time. The line can be long at times, but the wait is worth it.PRO TIP: Order ahead online.
We got to Pajos in Port Moody at 7:15 pm on a sunny Friday night (they are open until 8 pm according to their websitebut were told by the employee standing in line that they weren’t taking any more orders. Really? What does staying open until 8 pm mean? At a restaurant it means you close off sales at that time - not 45 minutes early (or, if you are going to do that, you warn customers on the website that orders close off by … whenever. So very disappointed by the unwillingness to provide reasonable service. It’s super frustrating to head out to eat and find out a place has closed 45 minutes early on a weekend evening. They won’t see us again.
Thin crispy batter, nice pieces of fish, crispy fries (if you like them extra crispy, ask for itplus malt vinegar, tartar, and season salt. Outdoor tables, was yummy!
THE BEST FISH N CHIPS in the North East Great Vancouver and TRI Cities area. Im so glad they have a location here instead of heading to Steveston and Richmond. The fish n Chips is crispy and melts in your mouth DELICIOUS!
Never been here before but stopped by at the recommendation of friends. The Fish and Chips were amazing. And they have special designed picnic tables to hold your fish. The tartar sauce is also super tasty.
Delicious fish & chips!! The Rocky Point location is perfect for a birthday walk and some lunch. The homemade tartar sauce is first class!! Great friendly staff, thank you Pajo’s !
Popular "award winning" fish & chips. You can order single or double pieces of cod, salmon & halibut and add on pieces. You can also order fish without the fries. They also offer a 3 piece, one-of-each, dinner, fish & shrimp tacos, poutine, and all beef dogs. When the weather is nice, expect line-ups at meal times. Theres several picnic tables and plenty of outdoor seating in the adjacent park. IF you have room for desert, Rocky Point Icecream is just a few steps away.
We ordered Halibut Fish and Chip and added two additional Halibut and a poutine. The coating of the fried fish tasted rather greasy. The gravy from the poutine taste wonderful, not watery compared with others. Ordering 4 pieces of fish with fries is already good enough for two. The only downside is to get prepared waiting in the line, waiting for waiter to come take your order and waiting for your orders to be ready... ALOT of LONG waiting.. have patience and youll enjoy good food.
The fish and chips were great. I asked for the two piece "fish only" but the server misheard me. Didnt realize it until my food came. Oh well. Just gave it to the family later, rather than throw it out.Beware the crows! I left just the container of tartar sauce on the table while I went to get a fork. And the sneaky little thing swooped in and stole my container of tartar sauce, the entire thing, lid and all. It was a murder, I tell you!
Great place to grab fish and chips for a picnic at the Rocky Point Park on a sunny day. Love this location, it is a perfect spot. My son loves coming to Rocky Point Park not because of the great playground and splach park but to have fish and chips! Service was quick and the food was fresh and tasty.
Great place to have a yummy lunch while enjoying nature! The service was friendly and fast. We had the Pacific Wild Cod, which was AMAZING. Will definitely be coming back regularly.
I was very happy with my Sockeye Salmon Fish and Chips. Food tastes great. I got fries refilled within a minute of asking, when they were super busy. Great job!
Always a great spot for fish & chips and a cod burger! Crispy fish, well-seasoned fries and great customer service. Thanks for preparing my meal Justin & Roxy! This made for a great trip out with the family!
The salmon was tasteless and the cod was plain as well. The friess appearance was unpleasant with dark brown colour. It was too soft for me.
Just had the best fish and chips at Pajos in Port Moody! Huge pieces of fish and endless fries. Everything is always so fresh and hot!
OMG! For me, the fish and chips were delicious and I was able to finish it without leftovers. First time to finish it. The zucchini chips were great except the skin on the zucchini were a little bit hard, some of it. Otherwise, no complaints.
Simple, brilliant, right where it should be. Lots of picnic tables, reasonable prices, serving size is small-ish.Halibut and fries, gravy, tartar.
Im a support worker and came with a large group.Originally Id just gone for a refill for myself and one of my clients wanted to come along to keep me company. They offered my client a refill of fries as well as my refill. When I returned to the group and they learned of the free fries they wanted some too.As my fries were quickly devoured by the group, they wanted more.So this time I went back up for a refill with a larger group. The clients didnt even ask, but they were each offered a refill of fries.Just wanted to say thank you to the kitchen crew today for making my little group of goofballs happy
Perfect for a gloomy day ☁️ always love the freshness of the food and the kind service. Definitely recommend! Do give it a try if you’re around the area 🎣
Pajos is the best place to get fish n chips in the Vancouver area. Port moody is the location of choice if you fancy a local brewery afterwards! Always good quality and worth the drive
I have always loved the fries at Pajos Rocky Point, been ordering them for years. I ordered some for the first time this year and was very disappointed... the frie container was only half full, the fries were cold and soggy. I walked to my usual spot, where I always eat them and they have never been cold and soggy before. I was very disappointed but to tired to walk back and complain. I will order again in the hopes this was just a mistake... I hope so, since I have enjoyed the fries for many years.
Incredible food and service (big shout out to Roxanna!). This is definitely our once a week treat and SO worth it. You cant go wrong with any of the menu items - trust me weve tried pretty much all of them. Kudos to everyone at this location and keep up the great food and work!
Fantastic fish and chips. Kid meals includes a drink and free refills. I have been going here since it opened and never knew till yesterday that French fries refills are also free. Need m6 Paros fix, salmon fish and chips❤️
My Husband and I went for a walkthru Rocky Point in Port Moody this afternoon. It was beautiful with the sunshine and ocean breeze.Found Pajos in the park and decided to have Fish & Chips for lunch there.Awesome, kind customer service .Excellent made Fish & Chips - and fun presentation for eating ! Well be going back again tosupport this tasty local business !
Spot the yellow umbrella below the bridge, thats Pajos. So we dined with my wife and kids and the food was ok. I had salmon taco while my wife had the cod taco. The kids had their kids fish and fries, sausage and fries, which is cheaper, but of course smaller. I go to Granville island frequently so I would say I spotted couple of better spots at Granville. But overall, decent place when in Port Moody. Why 3 stars? Because the condiments area are drenched under the rain. The benches were too... we did not finish the french fries but it can be improved. Overall, will give more room just in case it gets better when we return.
We came here right at opening after hearing good things from friends. Sadly our food was inedible. The batter was so greasy and kind of mushy and doughy and the fish was so tough we couldn’t even cut through it. There was also quite a lot of skin left on which I thought was weird. The fries were so oily with no seasoning at all. A total waste of $45 considering we both threw our meals in the garbage. Staff were pleasant.
I have been coming to Pajos for many years now and loved it. Likewise I patiently waited for them to open to for season - however was extremely disappointed. I ordered a 2 piece halibut and chips, a 2 piece cod and chips and a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw was the best thing out of the three by far. The fish was COLD, and we grabbed it as soon as our name was called out so it wasn’t as if it had been sitting long. By cold I mean the inside was literally cold to the touch for both fish dishes and we were not able to finish it. The fries were extremely greasy and soggy and the portion size was sad. As this is my usual go to place, for the price I was extremely unhappy and can’t say I can recommend in the future.
I haven’t had really good fish and chips until I came to Pajo’s. Look for the bright yellow umbrellas at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody. They also have other locations at the YVR Airport and Richmond. They offer 100% Vancouver Aquarium Ocean Wise seafood. There are many options available with a choice of wild salmon, cod, or Alaskan halibut fish & chips with yummy tartar. The fries are bottomless. I had the two piece halibut with fresh cut fries with good portions of each. I was pleasantly surprised that there was little batter, halibut was moist, and wasn’t greasy tasting. They also offer seafood tacos and burgers. If you love (goodfish and chips, I highly recommend Pajo’s. Try the other seafood choices such as tacos. Forget the burgers as you can get that anywhere. A great place to go after a walk through the trails at Rocky Point. It’s mainly takeout but there are picnic tables nearby.
Either the cods, or the halibuts are so fresh and coating with flaky, crunchy fritters. They taste really good! But the fries are too dry to us...Maybe next time only order the fishes.
Ordered food from here through skip the dishes and the food was sent open just like in the picture. I understand if for some reason they dont pack the food in boxes properly but if sending it through a third party delivery service, they should have atleast stapled the bag or secured it somehow to avoid exposure from the delivery driver, specially in the times of covid. Dissappointed.
Good place to go for a meal at Rocky point although the price seems a bit high for what you get. Staff are very friendly and the service is great. Meal was packed up with plenty of napkins, cutlery and condiments. The salmon was delicious, onion rings were so-so.
On its own the fish and chips probably deserve a 3 star review. The chips are often soggy and served without seasoning (although salt and pepper is available for you to do it yourself). Luckily the fish is always good, crispy on the outside, moist and delicious on the inside. The service, and location in particular, is what keeps me coming back whenever Im in the area. Even with long lines the service is usually quick and there is no better place to enjoy a meal outdoors than Rocky Point Park.
Convenient source of honest food surrounded by blessed view. Why would you go elsewhere for a meal in the best patio view of the whole world. Many choices in the menu. They have a birthday deal if you sign up to their website. Attentive staff always around.Strict provincial health preventive measures in place due to the pandemic.Again, only a few steps from the Moody Central Skytrain Station or the pier.I was unable to see a WC close to this location so take previsions.
7/23, 2020 @ 12:45 pm. The worst fish n chips I had ! We ate at the picnic table not far from the kiosk. Fish were small and the fries soggy and both were greasy !!! We traveled from Cloverdale to here. It was very disappointing...was expecting 4 Star Fish n chips but got a 1 ☆ !!! See photos...P.S. We have been at Richmond location and had a 4 Star Fish n Chip.
Went to Rocky Point for lunch today! Worse food ever! Fish was over cooked the fries were a container of grease and soggy !! The oil for fish tasted old and the fries were over blanched and soaked up oil!!Such a disappointment, used to be sooo good, but the quality of the food and atmosphere has gone way downhill!! They don’t ring bell and say thank you for tipping like in previous years, there is no welcoming feeling anymore!!!!
Always enjoy our visits here. Everything we have had has been good. Cheeseburger 4/5, cod 4/5, and fries 4/5 this last time. Nice that they have some alternatives for fish and chips. Would recommend this place since it’s become our “go to” place for food when at the park. Having a place like this makes having a day at the park easy. So does the ice cream place. Yes, probably going there again.
Delicious!Free refills on fries and your drink. And the fish taste Phenomenal! Our 2 year old ate a whole piece to herself!
Having heard of the famous Pajos in Steveston and eaten there many years ago, we were curious to try this location at Rocky Point Park. For a sunny Sunday on the last day of the parks summer concert series, it wasnt as busy at 1:30pm as youd expect. Ordered, got a table and after a short wait, got our order: 2pce. cod with chips(quite a lot actuallyfor $14. The fish was on the smaller side and not as crispy as we would of liked but was not over battered. The fries were nicely crisp and we didnt partake of the free refill as we also got a Cochinita YVR Sandwich from the Marimba *Local Mexican Kitchen* truck located in the park. We enjoyed that more than Pajos and I only include it in this review as could not locate it in Maps App. to review.I would be more inclined to try from the many food trucks located on Murray St. than to repeat Pajos as other fish and chip options may be better value for the buck $$.
First time to this location. Very nice park. Food is as good as other Pajos stores. Love eating there. Tasty Fish, and it has unlimited French fries refill, but I am always full after one refill of French fries.
Great little outdoor seating location nessled between a park and the river. Super busy in summer! They take cash or plastic. Serve yourself style with a huge emphasis on fish and chips. Friendly staff, super quick and nice fresh fish with a warm crunchy breading! Bring your family and a blanket and have a picnic on the nearby grass! Watch out for the birds! They will take your food! Minus one star because I felt the price was a bit more than the portion size warranted.
