Art-filled eatery serving eclectic Southwestern cuisine, fine wine & cocktails in a cozy atmosphere.
Excellent! We had the black bass 5/5, sage smoked quail5/5, portobello ravioli 5/4.5 ( fried green onion shreds on top were too hard and stabbed us in the mouthand the Gorgonzola salad 3/5 (never found the Gorgonzola, but had good flavor and presentation). The local brews were a must have. We were so satiated and happy at the end of our experience! Took home the lavender brûlée for dessert at home later. Service was excellent 5/5.
Decadent, luxurious, seriously the best food youll experience in St. George. My husband and I go for our anniversary every year and it is something we count down the days for. Seriously, we are that satisfied each and every time. I will vow to anyone that it is the very best restaurant we have here in town. The food combinations are such a special treat and truly mind-blowing. I cant speak highly enough of it!
Incredibly unique and delicious food. I’ve never had anything like the food here, it was all a delicious surprise. Great service, ambiance, and location as well. Even the building is gorgeous.
Knowledgeable, attentive staff and a varied, exciting menu earned these five stars. The chilled water goblets were a nice touch, too.Despite the price-point and atmosphere, no fancy dress is required; this can be a blessing or a curse; I was terrified when a nearby family arrived with a toddler, but thankfully she was the quietest toddler in existence.Though i enjoyed my steak, the daily specials, carrot jalapeno soup and heirloom tomato salad, stole the show. The frozen lemon souffle was delightful and refreshing, though in no way a souffle. Possibly my new favorite dessert.Do recommend. May not be wheelchair accessible (though dont quote me on that). Reservations recommended.
It was recommended to my wife and I by a friend. We went for lunch and was so impressed we went back the very next night for dinner. I thought the lunch was incredible and the dinner even better. The service was some of the best Ive seen. Personable yet professional. The presentation couldnt have been better. Really pleasing to look at. Now the good part. The taste of the food was better than I thought food could taste. Ive been to nice places and loved them until I saw the size. These portions were spot on. Did I say coconut key lime pie? Best pie ever. Nice ambiance too. If you want a great dining experience go sooner than later, youll thank me!!!
Absolutely SPECTACULAR!! One of the best meals Ive had anywhere. I cant believe Ive been in St George for 8 years and hadnt eaten here yet.Very romantic atmosphere, stellar service -- Ryan was top notch, and the food was out of the world. Bite after bite somehow it only got better and better. Highly recommend.
Absolutely lived up to the sterling recommendation I got from a close friend. We didnt quite know what to expect, in terms of overly formal, but we had a wonderful dining experience and felt very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our little jaunt to St George and look forward to dining at the Pony again.
The service was wonderful. Our server was amazing and extremely helpful. We took a day trip from Vegas and ate here. Our experience was wonderful start to finish. The food and drinks were outstanding and the staff was amazing. I would highly recommend checking out this little gem.
The food is delicious 👌 the waiter did a great job of explaining our options and we all got either hanger steak or tenderloin. They were cooked perfectly to be tender and delicious. As with any higher end fine dining like this, the portions were small and the prices were high, but that’s to be expected when the food is higher quality. I was worried it would be a super fancy place that I felt out of place in but it was a good atmosphere that was friendly to more casual customers.
I have been to painted pony more than 50 times. There is not many choices to try but it is all cooked pretty well. For fine dining in St. George Utah it is one of the best around. Compared to other fine dining its a 7 out of 10. Like all businesses there will be issues but they do a good job to accommodate you.
Great place. Intimate atmosphere. Food was extraordinary! We didnt have to buy our sides separately because each entree came with some carbs and vegetables. Customer service was very welcoming. Definitely make a reservation. 10/10 recommend!
Amazing cuisine and service - we had the beet salad, the special carrot-jalapeño soup - and mushroom ravioli with eggplant. Outstanding food. Incredible marriage of flavors. Highly recommend!
4.5 Everything was good but some of the sides like the fritters werent that great. Very friendly and accommodating service.
After getting treated really poorly at one of the only other fine dining spots in St George(The Cliffsidemy husband and I wandered into the Painted Pony! The staff was attentive and kind, worked us in to a table on a busy night and our meal was incredible! So happy to have found not only another fine dining spot in town, but one with a fresh menu and delightful staff. We will be back!!
We had an excellent experience at the painted pony with wonderful food, atmosphere, and service. Our waiter Charlie was exceptionally helpful in explaining the menu and recommended some of their best dishes. While serving our food he experienced a dislocated shoulder and still continued in a highly professional manner of serving us, thankfully he was ok! This was simply an above and beyond meal down to the coconut key lime pie and white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Definitely will be coming back next time we are in town!
An extremely positive experience with service, quality of food, quietness, and views. Our server Abe, was observant to our needs and a valuable asset to your restaurant. Since it was my wife’s birthday, we ordered the Sparkling Framboise (champagne with chambourd and a raspberry to top off the cocktail). For the appetizers, we chose bacon wrapped dates and potato trout cakes. The trout was smoked and delicious. The bacon wrapped dates had an almond in the center, what a treat! Our lunch included macaroni and cheese (sharpand tasty, beef brisket panino, and a tuna melt for our mother in law. Dessert was bread pudding with a vanilla raspberry sauce. Yum. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of our servings; however did take a few of the restaurant. This was our first visit and we’ll certainly return for another visit.
Nice atmosphere. Nice staff. Service was really slow. Not sure what happened. But we arrived at a nearly empty restaurant at 7:45. We had a round of appetizers, but our entres werent out until almost 9:30.Food was overpriced and undersized. My steak didnt have any taste of cocoa chili dust and also had no salt it seemed. Tender and cooked correctly, but the seasoning just was not there. Drinks were good. Appetizers were good. I also had the Mac & Cheese as an app. Avoid it. Super small for what it is and while the taste was fine, it was really dry. Had zero sauce or creaminess.
One of the best restaurants we’ve ever had! (If not THE best!We definitely want to come back! The staff was so intentional from start to finish, they made us feel like family. So awesome!
I always try to stop in local restaurants whenever Im on the road...oh wait, Im ALWAYS on the road...lol. First off, St. George is a lovely town. Id like to spend more time .Now to the point. Painted Pony is as good as any fine dining restaurant in the States... thats it. Staff was professional and accommodating and my server Cyndy was fantastic. Ask for her. Do not miss this gem.
Ladies and Gentlemen.....Not Impressed! Quite disappointed actually.Leading up to the visit.... atmosphere outside is welcoming, great location, and we were seated (2 peoplewithin 10 minutes. For these reasons, I gave 2 stars. From the time we sat down to the time the food was placed on our table was nearly an hour (54 minutes). My wifes food was mildly warm approaching being cold, most likely because it was sitting there waiting to be brought out to us while my Ribeye Steak was being done. The steak.......ugh.....no flavor and average at best. Id pay $10 for the quality of the steak, yet, I paid $50 for it. In fact, when all said and done, I paid $120 for two meals and two drinks (soda and a cream soda).Overpriced.... mediocre food (thats being niceand terrible wait times for food to be brought out.Looking for somewhere nice and upscale.....find somewhere else other than painted pony.
Wonderful experience, great waiter (Jeremiahand delicious food. Allow byob, and relaxed elegance
Thank you for having a vegan dish that was delicious for our anniversary dinner. I just wish you had more than one option
The food is unique, the staff is friendly. They have gluten free bread. It just isnt to my taste. I had a tuna melt and I tried the meatloaf. My wife has a salad with salmon and she enjoyed her meal.
Excellent service, excellent food, we loved it, if we ever visit St. George again, we will come have dinner at this place for sure!
My wife and I ate here on a night we were able to get away from the kids, and we were blown away. Service usually tends to be pretty good in the St. George area, but our waiter took it to another level. Pair that with the excellent food (Rosemary-Spiked Ribeye and Hangar Steak entrees), and it made for a memorable night. We will be coming back here again!
Unbelievable gastro experience in an unexpected location. The food was on point, I mean some of the courses were blackout good. The atmosphere was warm and unpretentious. Two standouts - My 2 favorite J’sJeff and JeremiahCheck the menu, look at the photos and make sure you stop hereThanks everyoneRich & PattyPS:As we were leaving, Strolling through the courtyard, Jeff came running out carrying our doggy bag! A voice and beyond!Thank you again
Great atmosphere. Food was worth the stop. My steak was ordered medium and was more like medium rare. I just switched steaks with a table companion and all was good.
Had a delicious dinner with family. We made reservations and were seated immediately when we arrived. Our server, Emily, was delightful. We had the carrot and jalapeno soup and ceasar salad with the bacon wrapped dates to start. YUM!For our entrees we had the pork chop, lamb, and hangar steak. The corn bread pudding was good but a bit dry. Had a nice kick. The lamb was a tad overcooked but still good. The risotto was a bit under seasoned, we had hoped for more there so Id sub that out for another side next time. The pork chop was seasoned nicely with a lovely chutney on top. The hangar steak was good with a nice seasoning.Nice place with a cute ambiance.
Great place! I was really impressed with the kind staff, super clean, fun environment. The food was delicious 😋. The reason Im giving 4 stars is because the portions are really small and the prices are really high. Besides that I loved it.
Came for lunch, got the lunch special wrap (cant remember the name). Was $15, delicious. Tried the key lime pie, cheese cake tower, lava cake, and bread pudding. The bread pudding wasnt my favorite, to dry. If I was to recommend one it would be the lava cake. We spent 2 hours here. For 3 people plus tip it was $92.
This place is absolutely amazing My new favorite restaurant in St George! Went here for my birthday, staff and chef are awesome! Brian was our server he was very knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations. We had the French onion soup, steamed mussels, clams and linguine and the hanger steak rare was absolutely fabulous! drinks were perfect followed up with the best bread pudding Ive ever had! If youre in St George you need to treat yourself to this restaurant!! You will love it oh yeah and the deck outside is cozy and comfortable.
My husband and I went to the Painted Pony and had an outstanding experience all around. Nice quiet, peaceful atmosphere, top notch waitstaff and service, and the food was outstanding. My husband had the vegetarian pasta dinner and I had a vegan meal. Vegans take note that even though vegan entrees are not on the menu, the chef will make a memorable vegan meal if you just mention it to your waiter. I am including a photo of my vegan meal. It was amazing presentation and combo of flavors. Pasta, desserts, and bread are all made in house and all were amazing!
What a wonderful place in the sea of chain restaurants and fast food chains in St George. Had the gorgonzola salad, wedge salad, seared ahi tuna, grass fed tenderloin, rabbit pot pie, spiced cake for dessert. All was excellent and the server Ryan was great!
This was treasure funded on way to Grand Canyon early dinner and food was outstanding:each we had steak was great and done as we wish - staff very very very nice each of them made as feel special and even it’s was fully booked they found as place at bar !;)Rib eye stake and chefs cut line stakeVine list long and exclusive - we coming back for lunch !
Highly recommend sitting on the treehouse patio and ordering the house made bloody! We also got the trout cakes which were 😘👌🏽 and the green goddess salad and torta sandwich. Friendly service & nice atmosphere! One of the more upscale restaurants in terms of food offerings that we’ve seen in St George, although we wore athleisure and fit in fine.
Our server Bryce was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant offered unique, elevated cuisine and an upscale ambiance for the area. Drinks were good. Prices were reasonable.
Nice decor, nice staff, interesting menu items. I had the rosemary grilled chicken sandwich which was very good. The side salad was amazing for a side salad
Painted Pony hands down is my favorite restaurant in town. They have incredible food and service! Tonight I had the Ribeye steak and the caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes. Amazing!
Was visiting Zion National Park and was told this place was very good. The food at Painted Pony is better than very good, it was amazing. Everything we ,my family and I, ordered, from presentation to flavor, was spectacular. I look forward to eating there again. On a side note, the staff are amazing and attentive as well. Definitely worth going. The picture I added was their French onion soup that they serve in an onion bowl.
Wonderful place, delicious food, enthusiastic staff, i had the sesame opah it was fantastic. They have a very diverse menu, everything we tried was flavorful, well plated, proper portion sizes. I will gladly be returning as often as possible
The Grilled Tenderloin Burger was great. Tender and had great flavor. Raspberry lemonade was great. Western Patty Melt was ok, i dont like mayo so it was very dry. The peppers where way way over cooked. Would have tasted better if they had some crisp to them and not so mushy. Lunch time pricing was good comes with house salad or fries. We both did the salad, not bad but i personally dont care for walnuts. I think almonds would have been better. The Phyllo baked brie was great and the roasted Parmesan asparagus was great but way over priced for what your getting. 5 peace of asparagus for 11.00 is way over priced. If were ever to go again, it would be for lunch i wouldnt want to pay the dinner cost as this was for 2 meals and 2 appetizers and 1 lemonade costed us $72.00.
Par excellence! Service impeccable. Glad we inquired before ordering separate meals. Their rib eye was fit to be shared, the green beans crispy, and the wedge salad was lightly dressed, perfect! Wine and cocktail choices were for all palettes.
WOW. It’s so difficult to even put into words this culinary experience. The service was incredible. The food was incredible. Everything we ate we LOVED. This will be one of the places we continue to go to when we visit St. George! Well done!Pictured:Italian Soda peaches/mangoQuail starterRibeye entree
On the weekdays they serve a lunch menu until around 4:00 with reasonably priced items (around $10 per entreeand weekdays after 4:00, as well as all day Sunday, they have a pricier Dinner menu (about $30 per entree). My three friends and I had no complaints with the food, the wait time, or the staff on our Sunday visit, in fact the staff was very kind and welcoming, and our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to describe entrees and appetizers with detail. If i lived nearby, i would definitely return for a fancy date or to treat someone I care about :(sidenote: the bathrooms are pretty nice)
We were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately considering it is a holiday weekend. Drew was a wonderful waiter who was very well versed in the menu with good information and recommendations. Staff was very attentive in keeping drinks full etc. Food was prepared very well with good flavor.
We went to Painted Pony for my sons 19th Birthday and also "Yay you kicked Cancers Butt" so this was an extra special dinner and it exceeded our expectations! The food delightful and service extraordinary!
Firts time here! My friend and I, we decided to get away from our routine and tried something different! Was amazing option! Great food and drinks but Brice our server was so attentive and professional, great recommendations thank you!
A great place to eat, it is pricey but it’s well worth it! Great staff and food tastes amazing. Drinks i would say are reasonably priced my local beer on tap was $5.75 and a Jack and Coke was $7.
Everything here is amazing. The presentation of the food is a work of art. Every flavor in each of the dishes compliment each other beautifully. The atmosphere is calm and every time I eat here I feel like Im melting in my seat from all of the flavors and the atmosphere. My favorite restaurant to date.
A great dining experience is not all about the food, its about the service the atmosphere, comfort, location and general feeling. The Painted Pony checks all those boxes. Kelly was out waitress and she was incredible. The atmosphere gives you a European vibe, you feel like you are in a chic downtown restaurant with so much character and sitting out on the patio gives you a sense of eating in a comfort at a good friends house, overall you just dont want to leave and there is absolutely no rushed feeling! And after you eat make sure to checkout the whole shopping center. Its an absolute delight with a historic jailhouse and other amazing attractions. As for the food...its absolutely out of this world. The menu is not large but that just tells you that what they offer they have perfected! A daunting menu is not a good sign. The French Onion soup is an absolute MUST ORDER. It is served in an actual carved out large onion over a bed of sea salt! Why sea salt you ask? Its there to keep the onion from rolling around. Brilliant and makes it look amazing. The bacon wrapped dates with an almond inside were the absolutely best I have ever had, and if you have never had one, you owe it to yourself to try this delectable dish. For our entrees I had the Hawaiian swordfish special and my friend had the bacon covered duck breasts with a thin slice of apple on top. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!!I dont know when Ill come back to St. George but Ill be sure to stop by The Painted Pony. Only 2 hours away from Vegas, its actually worth driving just to grab an incredible meal. Yes I know all about the food in Vegas...The Painted Pony is INCREDIBLE.
