"Award winning pies" did not taste good, I can only imagine what kind of award they one........

No trays, plates to eat on and no knives and forks toxeat with Sat at 1st table but had not been wiped down. Moved to cleaner table. Has gone down hill since previous owners left

The best pies in the world, and chocolate eclairs shaped like a donut have to be the best ever, five star are not enough

I brought an over priced steak and mushroom pie, dont know where the mushrooms were and was lucky to have 3 pieces of steak otherwise just full of jelly gravy $6.20 wont be back and wont recommend, it reminded me of why I dont go there anymore

Mince and cheese pies arent as good as I remember. The mince is slightly watered down.

Food was mostly good, staff were friendly enough, store was dirty inside in certain locations

Unfortunately our experience wasnt good. Terrible customer service, american hot dog was cold, hot food cabinet burnt my sons hand, and the place wasnt clean. No one cares about pie awards from 2008! We are 2022 now.

Best pies that I have had in NZ.The mushroom and bacon toast muffins delicious.

My advice would be to go somewhere else.The attitude of the staff (suspect the ownerwas disgusting.Reading the other reviews this looks like a theme.Over priced & poor quality also.

They have the best pies and Sausage rolls also the cakes are very nice aswell 😍

So far everything Ive tried from the pie and sandwich section has been amazing. Seating area for those rainy days always a nice touch at your local bakery 👌

The pies were average at best and the lady that who served us was very unfriendly.

Wouldnt go here again. Extremely expensive I couldnt believe the prices. Food was average. Didnt feel welcome to dine in. Not very friendly staff. Felt ill after eating there.

One of the best pies I have ever had, excellent hot chips. When I’m Taupo this is the place to go for all your bakery needs.

Had a steak pie and a couple of cakes from here, thought they would be great but sadly they were very average especially the steak pie.

Had a pie from here yesterday and it was really good. Went back early today thinking we would get the same experience. But the person seving us seemed distraught with our presence and didn’t seem to want to talk to us or make eye contact, despite serving the person before us well. Made for a very uncomfortable start to the day.

Im not a pie connoisseur. To be honest they usually all taste the same to me. BUT this place was next level. I had a steak and cheese pie and it was amazing. Loads of great quality filling, and the pastry was perfect. I only realised later that theyve received a bunch of awards. VERY well-deserved.

Probably the best bakery Ive ever been to. Theres a ridiculous variety of pies to choose from as well as sweet and other savoury foods from 😋

Has a huge variety of pies to tickle your fancy amd has the best steak and pepper pie ive ever tasted.

Went in today to get 2 mince and cheese pies to heat for dinner. Very disappointed to find after heating and taking the top off there wasnt a sign of any cheese. $11 for 2. Feeling ripped off. The lady who served me had to go out the back to get them. The bag they were put in was marked mince and cheese and not sealed

I love the creamed apple turnover there. It is just immaculately done. The pies are just out of this world as well.

Best pies in town!!! Definitely a family favourite when we are in town. We had a large order and they were happy to accommodate. 😄😄

I go in to get coffee occasionally. I Have had pies and donuts from there and are always nice.Seems very popular.

What an absolute gem. Chips are a 10/10, with the perfect amount of seasoning. Pies are flaky and filled generously. Super busy on a Saturday lunch time but service was quick and all COVID protocols were being followed. Butter chicken and mince/cheese pies were delicious.

We bought two different pies and enjoyed them both. Lamb and mint sauce and chicken with creamy mushroom. The roast veges in the lamb pie were a not so welcome surprise but the flavors went well together.

Busy bakery/cafe with great selection. Dining area is clean & spacious. Prices are on higher side but food is great quality.

One lady in there had very terrible attitude and manner towards us we werent in a rush so decided to sit down to eat she kept walking past rolling her eyes between each customer that come in and then returning to mop the floors this is just after 1pm still lunch time.she maybe needs to work on her customer service abit more as its some of the worst ive come across in a long time and wasnt just towards us from what we seen whilst being there. The Food was great but sorry due to the service ive rated only 3 stars

Best pies we have ever had! The garlic prawn and a steak and cheese were both top notch. The pastry is perfect!

Need to focus more on customer service, lady was rude as hell on the register not to mention she managed to overcharge by 8 dollars. Dont recommend having your unfriendly staff on the front counter not a good first impression. Definitely wont bother heading back there. Food pretty average.

The best baking Ive had for a long time, The pies are so delicious but so is a lot of the other food I have tasted here. I am always looking forward to lunchtime. 😁

We stopped by to grab some food before heading down to Ruapehu. I wasnt planning on getting anything but saw that they had award-winning pies (Lams Piesso ended up getting one. I grabbed the creamy mushroom, bacon and cheese one. the party was nice and the filling was ok. I was expecting more of a medley of bacon and mushroom in the filling but it was a mushroom in a white sauce with a nice piece of bacon on top. It was nice and creamy and did have a nice flavour.they did have standard bakery items as well.

Good pastry, ok fillings in sausage rolls. The steak n Kidney pie had a weird nutmeg musty taste which was a little off putting which ended in the trash. Service is fine could be done with a smile but I think that’s not on the program

Stopped while visiting huka falls. Pies taste ok. Customer service was zero. Served by an Asian lady who also works in the bakery, who was angry with us for no reason. I believe they dont like brown people in the store. 2yo daughter was touching the hanging chains on the way out, and got scolded for it. Way to treat your little customers. Lucky this was in Taupo, This store wont last a day in Auckland

The worst customer service ever. We recently had so rude customer service from the Asian looking lady in the cashier. We stopped there to grab some snacks on our way to Ruapehu and accidentally I dropped one of my food on the floor. When I picked the food up and wiped the floor ,the Asian looking cashier very rudely said " Give me that food ,I am going to chuck it in the bin" . I was almost in tears as she raised her voice in front of all the customers. To keep my peace of mind at ease I paid for the food I ACCIDENTALLY DROPED on the floor. The experience I had was so rude. Wont be returning ever again.

Beautiful pies, the best me and my family have had for a long time. Also a great selection of flavors. Will definitely be back when were in Taupo again.

WOW, this must be the best pie and chips I have had in a long time. I can understand why they have won so many awards!!Clean and service was very fast. Pricing is reasonable. You can either sit and eat or takeaway.I had a steak and kidney pie and it rocked!! The chips we had was also top notch.

4.5⭐ rounded up to 5. So good we came back here the day we were leaving to grab some treats for the road. I had the vegetarian 🥧 and hubby tried the lasagna pie. His first time experiencing a lasagna pie. Did not disappoint he said. Also tried the apple strudel and apple pie. So good.

Another place where we liked it so much, we came back for round 2 while on vacation!They just offer a really simple thing, we put delicious filling into our flaky golden yellow pies.They also have sandwiches, fries, and other things but you come here for those pies!It’s a cafeteria style service where you get a tray and just slide down from each heated display window to the next. You can pick out the delicious goodies that you want to eat and then pay at the end.We absolutely adored their flaky crispy pies that had all sorts of different fillings. A lot of classic combinations such as chicken and mushroom, steak & kidney, smoked fish, sweet lamb curry, and butter chicken.It’s hard to have just one.I think my favourite thing I discovered there was their double happy roll. What makes it double happy? It was filled with ground beef on one side and creamy mashed potatoes in the other. Yum yum!There’s nothing fancy about the food but it’s just great great comfort food at a great value. It’s bound to make you smile.

Delicious pies. Award winning. Always tastes fresh and pastry is exactly how pies should be. All the food is amazing. In saying that, you get what you pay so they are dearer then others but worth it.

I had an awesome lasagne pie and apple strudel. Partner had a me lung moment and chicken sandwich. Amazing! Thy have a great choice of hot and cold savoury food plus sweets. Reasonably priced and close to the main town, but can get busy at peak times. Worth it!!

Hands down the best pies in Taupo. Good pastry and tasty fillings!! Prices range from $4 to $5 for the gourmet ones. Money well spent. Plenty of love in these pies. Been back here three times already.
