Nuevo-Latino seafood, tapas & popular mojitos in a colorful, two-story space with a lively bar.
I have to tell you the food was great our waiter Cisco , Was amazing and so was the cocktails!
The food isn’t good. Even if it was cheap, it wouldn’t be good. I’m not sure what the chef is doing back there but it’s giving culinary school dreams with zero concepts based in reality. I would have saId this food is good if I normally eat under seasoned diner food. Then in comparison, this place is beyond 5 stars.
I got their salmon lunch bowl. It was delicious!. I tried Brazilian signature drink Caipirinha for the first time, which was what sold it for me on dining at the restaurant. You can tell the food will be good if the drink is good...
We were greeted very warmly upon entering!! Very clean establishment but had to swat a few gnats away. We were seated at the bar per our request. The star was given for the wonderful greeting we received by the waiter at the door. However the staff inside seems very unhappy. Our bartender is not very interactive not the personality I would expect at a bar downtown! Happy Hour menu online is not current, so I will post one in my photos. We ordered mojito and margarita very short pour on the liquor Im a bartender I know. Mojito tasted just like juice. He checked on us after our food arrived and was in front of us for about 10 minutes. Didnt check if the order was correct or even if we were happy. We ordered clams on half, manchego fries, fish tacos, chicken enchilada. Fish was fried well only real flavor was from the lime I squeezed on top. The fries just had half melted cheese on them nothing special, the enchilada taste more like chicken rollitini. As a bartender /server I know u never let a glass sit empty. There were 4 other ppl at the bar with empty glasses for a long time. The bartender was busy juicing limes. I guess upselling and increasing his tip was of no interest to him. Needless to say my last time here. The first time I came here was 2 years ago for restaurant week and it was absolutely phenomenal, the food and service. The apps deterred me from ordering dinner! And I definitely believe in tipping big but today it wasnt warranted!!!
Pacifico is popular to locals. Whenever I asked someone in New Haven on where to eat, they always say go and dine in Pacifico. So we went there for dinner. They were right. Food were delicious, location was amazing, ambience is great, service was a lil slow. Price was a bit expensive. But I had a good gastronomic experience since I went there with friends.
Went a few years back and loved it. Not so much this time. Food was eh, service slow.
In a great location, and on a nice day the outdoor dining is awesome. In terms of the rest, the service is poor, my past experience with the servers have been bad. They look sad and miserable. The oysters were bad when they served them, the seafood overall didn’t taste fresh.A great place to grab a mojito but skip the food. Too much options near it that leaps this place. #newhavenlocal
A great place for an evening binge. Lovely staff good food. Enjoy the drinks ✌🏻
The food is delicious, it is a bit expensive but the quantity and quality are worth it, in addition the staff is aware of how you feel about your order and they are very polite and attentive. I definitely recommend it.
Food took a long time to come out. Drinks were served quickly though. Crispy sea bass was good, the arugula and quinoa salad was a little heavy on the olives. The fried rice and bean mix served with the churrasco was quite salty.
Yummy food! Pacifico felt like a fission between seafood and Latin (specifically Mexicanfood. Loved the Guacamole and chips, my party also ordered Salmon BKT, Quesadilla de Pato and Fajita Lunch Bowl! Highly recommended when you’re in New Haven. 🤩
First time in New Haven and looking at the pictures and the website, the decision to go to this restaurant for dinner was easy. Although, the dinner was delicious, the server definitely didnt want to be there or serve us. His attitude was horrible, he didnt introduce himself and barely looked at us. He got my drink order wrong and tried to convince me that the drink he gave me was what l ordered. He did bring the check quickly but l am sure that was because he didnt want to be bothered and for the tip. I gave him the lowest possible but he should have received less. Wouldnt recommend based solely on the servers attitude.
The food and the drinks were perfect. I would say the lighting upstairs is not the best, and the service was a little slow in the beginning. We do want to go back on a slower night and try a little bit more of their menu.
Consistently tasty dishes and good service. Great outdoor sidewalk seating.
My partner and I were looking for a nice restaurant for a celebratory dinner together. But as we looked at options, it quickly felt like if we wanted to be a bit fancy, our choices almost overwhelmingly consisted of Italian restaurants, a smattering of steakhouse and new American establishments, and the Union League Cafe, and a few steakhouses. But then we thankfully stumbled upon this, and goodness, what a pleasant evening we had. The tapas were delicious, but our main courses - the tamarind-caramelized salmon and the seafood paella - absolutely blew us away. Absolutely delicious!Of course its a bit on the pricy side, but definitely a fantastic place for those special times when youre willing to splurge a little!
This place is HORRIBLE. The food is blend and overpriced. I will never come back here… EVER AGAIN. If you want to waste over $100 and still be hungry afterwards then go ahead but this is not the place to eat at. Servers are nice but whoever is cooking this food needs to be go back to culinary school cause NO. They should be glad I even gave them a one star.
Very nice outdoor seating area! Great service! Great food! Recommended if you are in downtown New Haven!
Great food. Has tapas and the paella. I thought the tapas were great, but the paella was small and the seafood was a little overcooked.
The food was okay. Expected it to be better. Drinks and service was great. Outdoor area was nice. Wouldn’t go back for the food though.
The food was awful! No taste/seasoning.
I had high hopes for this restaurant because of the cuisine being called Nuevo Latin. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The food wasnt bad, but it wasnt good. It was only ok. My fiance had the short rib and goat cheese empanadas, and these were quite good. However, a tapas of a vegetable stack on top of a cornbread type base was only ok. I had the whole crispy fish. The exterior was not crispy at all except for the head. The fish was just dusted with cornmeal. The fish itself didnt have any seasoning, and it was a littlebland. The salad of arugula and plaintain that came with it was good. The service was rushed and not professional at all. They kept coming and asking if they could take our plates despite a fork in hand and substantial food on the plate. The prices were relatively high for what you got. I would not return here. I think you can find better places to eat. Getting to try something new if it isnt good is not worth it.
I have been a big fan of Pacifico throughout the last couple of times I have been. But this past weekend I was very disappointed. The quality of food was not up to their usual standards, but that was the least of my problem. I had reserved for a larger party, and when accommodated at a table, the wait staff was very dismissive. As a group of POC’s we all noticed how our table was being treated differently. While our waiter continuously poured rounds of wine for the table behind us, we had to serve ourselves. This was honestly so disrespectful, and everything was an eye roll or huff and puff. As paying customers with a bill close to $800, we should be given quality customer service and respect. I will now being taking my business elsewhere.
Delicious food! We sat on the bar for happy hour, had beer, Margaritas & tapas - Cauliflower, Fish Tacos, Chicken Enchilada, Arepa vegetariana. Every single dish was delicious. Loved the food. Bar tender Diana is very friendly & helpful. The sitting is cozy, lovely & warm ambiance. I recommend Pacifico & definitely will visit again.
Besides painfully average food, the wait staff was incredibly rude to and dismissive of our party. Which was interesting considering the excellent, attentive treatment the table next to us got. This experience + other incidents that have recently come to light have made it very clear that Pacifico does not want POC or LGBTQ+ folks in their space. Would suggest supporting other spaces in New Haven.
Top Notch experience I like the way they have you divided at the tables I love that. Its like having your own space. Food is very delicious I had salmon.
Food is good but the service is miserable. I came for Mother’s Day brunch with my husband and daughter. Although we had a reservation, there seemed to be some issue when we arrived regarding our table. After a hushed conversation between the hostess and manager, we were escorted upstairs and taken to a rather small table for two in a corner by the AC unit where the hostess proceeded to add a chair to make it for 3. There were empty tables scattered throughout the second floor (more than 10, at that pointso naturally we asked to move but we were told there was no other seating available. This was disappointing but we took them at their word and expected it to fill up shortly. We can make do! Let’s just be positive and enjoy the meal. After a few minutes, water is poured for us and then the staff comes to take our order yet we had never been offered menus (note - no QR codes for menus were available). Cue to another 5 minutes to fetch the menus. No drink menu was ever provided. After another 15 minute wait, we finally flag down someone to ask to have our order taken. Upon ordering, having been there now for roughly 25 minutes, not a single empty table has been seated during this time. When our first course arrives (roughly 10 minutes later), a party of three is brought upstairs and seated in the 4 count table immediately next to us. You can imagine how that made us feel. It was too late now to leave having already ordered so we opted to stick it out. Over the course of the meal, we had to repeatedly ask for water refills, they tried to give our desserts to the wrong table, and we had to ask for cutlery, twice. By the time we left (2 hours in total), all remaining tables had been reconfigured to accommodate larger parties even though we were told those were reserved for parties of 2. At first I assumed this restaurant might not like young children as I had not previously dined there but upon leaving I saw many families with little ones so that wasn’t the case. The food was good, if somewhat misnomered (Tres Leches pudding? Come on - that was rice pudding with icingbut the apathetic nature of the staff/management left us bitter. There are many delicious places to dine in New Haven - seek those out over this one.
Lunch was delicious. Amount of food could have been more given the price. Vibe was good and the place is cozy and quaint.
My sister chose this spot for her birthday dinner. Got a reservation for four during restaurant week. Didnt realize it was, so it was a prix fixe menu ( I think thats what its called lol 45$ for a 3 course meal was not bad at all. The options were pretty good. Started off with drinks. The Blanco sangria was enjoyable. We then moved along to the Pacifico Guacamole. In my friend and Is opinion it could have used more lime juice, cilantro, and salt. 18$ for Guac?..it should taste fire. I ordered the Cranberry salad. I did not get blue cheese crumbles because I personally dont like them. The salad was a bit dry, could have used more shallot vinaigrette. I then ordered the Guava Chipotle BBQ ribs with French fries and pineapple jicama. The French fries were delish and so was the slaw. The ribs were so tender..forked right off the bone but they had no flavor. In my opinion very bland like the guac. I ended my meal with the tres leches which was ok. I enjoyed the rasberry sauce on top. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I love the low lighting. The service was great, the employees really work well together to make sure things are running smoothly. I would return here.
My favorite restaurant in New Haven. The food is always fresh, delicious, and presentation is gorgeous. Lovely cocktails. Friendly, un-rushed service.
The brunch prefix menu was fantastic! The portion sizes were enough to make you feel full after just the first course. Not to mention the bottomless mimosas were an awesome touch. The service was phenomenal as well. I will absolutely be raving about this to everyone and will definitely be back again!
The food is excellent especially the entrees and fish. The tapas portion are smaller and perfect for 2 people, but for groups I would recommend ordering more tapas than expected. And the drinks are very smooth but not as strong.
I’ve been to Pacifico a few times but this is the first time I’ve ordered more than just their tapas. The tapas were delicious and there were a ton to pick from. Highly recommend the yucca fries. The pork belly was also good. Overall, we felt that the tapas prices were pretty high for what you get.The entrees were actually priced somewhat fairly, and were delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked and it went well with the potatoes, while the branzini was crispy and the mussel sauce flavorful.Dessert was good but also pricey for the size of cake- I believe $10 per piece.Their drinks are delicious as always, and on par with how much cocktails in neighboring restaurants cost.Service was great as always and the ambiance is always great.
I was celebrating the birthday of a friend.. Great appetizers and red sangria. Sea bass was delicious. Nice splurge dinner.
Great for a quick drink! (2 years ago)Came back post pandemic, so lovely to see them still in business. Excellent service and delicious cuisine!!
Always a nice vibe. Upbeat. Great place to meet a friend. Never too crowded. Tried weekend brunch for the first time. Excellent with really nice, fresh choices. One of My favorite things about Pacifico is that the portions are great but the food is so healthy it never feels heavy. Thanks for another nice meal. Will continue to be repeat customers.
Great dining experience the ambience is on point. We got a table outside by the heaters and it was great. The food was amazing and expensive but worth it. Plan to spend some money but your taste buds will love this place. We got the fish tacos and they were great (3), oysters were great , pork belly was my favorite it was so tasty and perfectly cooked. Yukon fries were good , quesadillas were juicy and full of flavor I just think they could be bigger for the price. Salmon tarter was surprisingly good yes the salmon is raw but you won’t know because it’s full of Flavor. stay away from the calamari , for the price that’s way too small and that’s a bit disappointing, even the pork belly portion was bigger ! I think once they correct that it would be perfect.Drinks were great also but twice servers tried to give us orders for other people , one person didn’t get his order asked for the manager and left. They need to get it together and number the tables to avoid this confusion but we had a 5 star experience regardless.
Happy hour done right - they no longer have oysters on happy hours but the food was very delicious. Happy hour goes from 3 to 6pm and you can only have it at the bar. We ordered fish taco and fries which were fresh and crispy! We also ordered sangria and margaritas off the happy hour menu - sangria was the only thing that was disappointing (it tasted watered downOctopus was probably the best part of the meal! It was very well done. Overall, good atmosphere, good service and great food! Would recommend.
Outdoor seating was nice. Drinks were okay. Paella came with a mussel not opened (undercooked), with rice tasting a little bland. Seemed pricey.
Fantastic experience! We have been wanting to try Pacifico for a while. It definitely lived up to our expectations! Staff is super professional and friendly. Food is amazing. Really great Latin cuisine. Nice selection of choices. Drinks are also quite good!
A true 5-star experience.Starting with the crisp, a little tart Old Fashioned, to the crunchy, flavorful Duck Quesadilla and finally the most delicious, tender, saucy Flank Steak with a side of carefully mixed rice and beans, everything came out perfect!Great music helped to set the mood, and pleasant service topped the list of the great experiences I just had here.Ill be back for sure!
The food here is always so good. The lomo saltado is phenomenal, and the churrasco a la parrilla is served with an amazing sauce and chimichurri. All the tapas rock. Awesome cocktails and good wine. They were really busy last night and service was slow for us indoors, outdoor tables looked to be better attended. At first I think the fact that we were using a groupon put the waiter off a little but in my opinion if your restaurant offers a groupon you shouldnt treat the table any different than if they werent... Service got better as dinner went on and we ordered more drinks. If you have time to spare, I definitely recommend coming here! And remember to always tip on the full bill if you have a groupon or discount!
Had a great Mothers day dinner with the wife and my daughter. The grilled octopus was amazing. Soft and chewy. Wife had paella so did my daughter. I had the skirt steak and it was tender and flavorful. I definitely would recommend stopping by if you havent already!
Wonderful combination of Latin food from across the globe: spain, mexico, oaxaca, and south america. The waitress was extremely patient with us and the food was superb. I would recommend the Oaxaca’s Old Fashion if you’d like to try a new smoky twist on the classic. Would definitely love to come back!
Service great. Food phenomenal. Sunday brunch and sangria..great prices too!
Had lunch with my best friend from Miami as a late birthday celebration. The restaurant was very nice and smelled delicious. Lunch was great but there is room for improvement. The shrimp and corn chowder was delicious but I only had 3 small pieces of shrimp which total to 1 med size shrimp cut in 3 and very little corn, the yuca was good and so was the broth. The shrimp ceviche however was the most delicious thing Ive eaten since I arrived in Ct. The juice and mango chunks are out of this world good. It was my first time having the lomo I thought it was good but just a tad bitter my friend however was not impressed coming from Miami it wasnt authentic enough for her lol but she said it was still good. The guacamole was bland no flavor just barely mashed avocado with chucks of tomato, it needed salt. The 3 leche rice pudding was really good the ice cream was fantastic and that raspberry sauce was the perfect balance not sweet at all but so good. All in all a good lunch experience.
Excellent...it is resturant week and the menu had some amazing options. Our server was awsome and very attentive. The food came out fast and was hot and fresh. I would definitely recommend this place and cant wait to go back.
Was superb dinner in a gracious space with excellent service. we started off with the beet salad and guacamole and chips (medium). Next came The catch of the Day, a deep fried whole red snapper, and the skirt steak. For dessert we had cheesecake and an assortment of house-made gelato. Service was very polished and personal. The best restaurant to occupy this space since it was converted for restaurant use.
Favorite place to eat in New Haven. Good drinks menu and vibe. Recommend for the perfect date night or Sunday brunch.
Great happy hour deals - $1 oysters and $3 bites. Friendly staff. Delicious drinks! I love that their cocktail sauce is kind of spicy.
Having spent time in Peru and Ecuador, I’m no stranger to Latin cuisine. I truly enjoyed the creative twists to classics, such as Lomo, Salmon a la Plancha, and their wonderful Salmon Tartare. Wine menu is first rate - Latin focused, with entries from Argentina, Chile, Spain. Service can be faster and more helpful, though.
