Modern seafood outfit offering Pan-Pacific preparations from sushi & Hawaiian poke to Latin tacos.
Good food and good beer selections, wish they has Das Brew beers.
Everything seemed very fresh and tasty especially the guacamole and chips. The Japanese salad was delicious and so were all of the tacos. Had the sea bass, shrimp, and steak. My only complaint was the side salad was kind of flavorless and the beans were not cooked properly, they were hard on the inside and none of us would eat it. Service was excellent and we were sat right away. Another complaint was the table was kind of sticky, but that happens. We would definitely go back.
Good place to get seafood. Menu items are quite a lot. A bit pricey for the food offered. Better place out there.
First time visit. The waiter made inappropriate joke. Waited very long time for getting order and food. I have a fish burger, viet hot fish, and it tasted very dry and overcooked. Overall don’t like a single thing about this place and will never come back.
Good service, good food and drinks. Happy hour is definitely worth it
Another great lunch at Pacific Catch San Mateo. Great staff (thank you Jimmy and Adamand very tasty and fresh food. I highly recommend the Seafood Coctel and the poke bombs.
Ask for the steak to be rare and its perfecto!perfect! I minus a star bc today, they kinda overcooked the salmon, even though I had a note that said to not overcook it and todays poke didnt taste as fresh as it should be..and there was a huge fish bone in the baja taco....but Ill be back for more of the steak bowl! Yums!
Someone stopped by the place where I sleep and gave me a unwanted order. Even though the food had cooled down already it was still Very Delicious. I dont have the money to eat there so it was nice to be able to SAMPLE there food.... Thank You
I dont usually participate in reviews, but I really like this place. They have a great variety of seafood dishes. I especially like the deep fried calamari with thin slices of Meyer lemon. Calamari, aka squid, is one of the more sustainable seafoods, and they prepare it well here. I just tried the salmon chowder and was a little disappointed. It contained a lot of salmon, so they didnt try to overload it with potatoes like most fish chowders, but it just didnt have a great deal of fish flavor. Maybe salmon isnt the best fish for chowder, but it was ok. They also use compostable containers and paper bags for taking leftovers home, and straws made of some kind of heavy duty paper material for drinks All said, this place gets five stars from me.
Food was good. Service just ok. They brought drinks separately. We had only 2 people drinking. I asked citrus aioli for the fries. They never delivered. But overall it was good experience
This place is way better than it should be. Honestly, I don’t understand how they can have so many things on their menu and yet nail pretty much everything, and for quite reasonable prices (they did just raise their prices though, but who isn’t with inflation?)Atmosphere: 4/5Pretty much what you’d expect. A large restaurant in downtown San Mateo with a half-outdoors seating area in the back and a large indoor area in the front. It’s clean, generally bright, and doesn’t feel too cramped. Nothing special, but it gets the job done with no complaints.Service: 4.5/5No matter how busy, the food always comes out in a reasonable amount of time and all the waiters I’ve had here are helpful and friendly.Food: 5/5What the hell. How can a place with SO MUCH STUFF on their menu serve such good food? I generally get the spicy ahi poke and either the three-taco platter or the fish and chips, but have also had some of their sandwiches and rice bowls. All of the above are fantastic, with the fish and chips being some of the best I’ve ever had. The tacos are also great, and the three-taco platter is very filling.Overall, would highly recommend, especially if you’re with a larger group and can’t figure out exactly what cuisine you want - from poke and asian-inspired rice bowls to tacos to fish and chips, everything’s good. Go for it.
Amazing foodhad the lobster rolland Ahi sushi taco, just amazingmust go and must have.Service is slow maybe cos of less employees.food still good.
Great place to have fish, salmon ans shrimps
My Salmon was very small for the price, my wifes hamburger was not good. Although, the service was very good. We will not be returning any time soon.
This place was amazing from the moment they welcomed me and my wife really well. We didn’t have to wait at all . Miriam was our server and Heriberto made sure everything was on point .Miriam kept checking on us from time to time , made sure we were well taken care of and gave us some really good recommendations !I love this place and would definitely come back !
Service lacking a bit when sitting outdoor in front of restaurant. Server was not attentive coming out too check on us until we went inside to request something. Food is acceptable.
The food was ok. I got the Korean BBQ bowl or whatever, but they ran out of Brussel sprouts. I also had the Baja taco. It was delicious! Service was slow. I think they were short staffed, but the ones who showed up were definitely working as a team. They all seemed so happy to be there despite the circumstances. I would go again, and I will get more seafood next time.
As good as ever. Great cocktail selection, fresh fish, tacos, poke, and lots of creative options. Be sure to look at the seasonal specials.
Food was great! Had the Korean bbq with steak and it tasted very good. The rice was very yummy. Service was also great.
I had some rainbow bowl which was basically a deconstructed sushi bowl. It was a lot, and pretty tasty, though the fish was only ok.Ahi tuna is hard to keep fresh because of the blood, so I wasn’t surprised it wasn’t the freshest, but it was still good. The brown rice had some hard pieces, wasn’t the best experience.Seating was comfortable and service was great.
The dishes we ordered were all tasty with good portion size. The staff was attentive. They have a huge menu selection. Expect to pay $40-50 per person. Good for a casual meal!
Everything tasted great! We had the ahi poke $13, wagyu cheese burger $13, clam chowder $18 and fish tacos plate $16 with a couple of beers $14. The food came out quick at dinner time with no wait. I couldnt believe it. This restaurant used to packed before the pandemic. Our server was nice and checked on us often. Great job everyone at Pacific Catch.
We ate outside. The sushi was fresh. Our server was so helpful. I enjoyed the blood orange punch. We love California fish almost as much as Florida fish.
Food and service were excellent. I tried the choose 3 Poke/Ceviche and enjoyed all 3. Highly recommend
There were so many interesting options on the menu, I had a hard time choosing. I got the Big Kahuna in the end and it was really good! It was a little bit on the pricier side but that comes with seafood, and given the serving size I would say it was worth it. The servers were also incredibly patient and really awesome! Great experience and will be going back to try other things on the menu
Amazing food, great service. Their Guaca-Poke appetizer was really good and their Ahi and salmon were super fresh. Also try their Wagyu cheeseburger it was amazing.
We stopped here for lunch before heading to the airport. We sat outside because it was an absolutely beautiful Sunday afternoon sharing some great food and drinks with friends!
First time at this place. Food was not what I expected, excellent. Everything was fresh and flavorful.
Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, great service, kid and work friendly. I see people on their laptops here so theres free wifi. The food is really good and well presentedThe half salads are enough
Amazing sea food restaurant. With great ambience.Edit : went in several times after this first experience. All their locations in the bay are great. They are one of the most consistently good fish places around.
A very interesting blend of Asian, Latino, and seafood. We got the salmon grilled bowl and swap the chemo for the sushi rice, which was pretty simple, healthy, and delicious. I also tried the mint Mojito with no alcohol, which was absolutely delicious.
Went in on a Monday afternoon around 3pm. Outdoor tent with plenty of tables. Propane heaters but none of them were on. I overheard the waiter tell another table who asked about turning them on "its taking a little bit of time to get them refilled seems that no one wants to take them outside to get filled up, it should be an hour or two before we have the tanks filled up and back in."I asked the waiter myself about 15 minutes after getting my food any update on the tanks and they said it would be an hour or so. There was a winter storm moving through the area and it was chilly outside. I didnt order any drinks other than water knowing that I would just get colder myself if I had some drinks. I also didnt order dessert on account of I couldnt stay any longer as it got chillier. I left around 4:00 p.m. and still there were no tanks.I ordered the calamari starter, the poke trio with a side of wonton chips, and the chowder. The chowder was the best out of all three. The poke trio was on a rice bed but I forgot to ask to substitute for a salad with dressing instead. Out of all of my visits to this and the other locations, the calamari got cold pretty quickly and wasnt as good as a result.
Went on a Monday afternoon (3pmand there were a couple tables occupied. They had the tents with propane heaters available. I was surprised there wasnt more people out eating in general. Overall, staff was very attentive and amicable. Food was pretty good. Guacamole chips were good, guac lacked a little flavor. Sea bass tacos were delicious, crispy shell and sauces hit the spot. The side dishes of black beans and fries (crispy and warmwere also good. Fish tacos and claim chowder were also tasty.
Good food and service! Arctic salmon with kimchi fried rice and cauliflower - generous portion. Also ordered the Sushi tacos (delicious but small serving)
Solid seafood restaurant with good service and nice atmosphere. There was a wide variety of diners when we were there, from couples on dates to business meetings to a larger party in back. The food was all flavorful and fresh with the salmon chowder being my favorite.
Nice, focused selections of fresh seafood. Good for quick bites or relaxed lunch/dinner times. Clean, warm atmosphere with reasonable pricing.
Food was a bit of a let down tonight. Ive been to this place about a year ago and was pretty happy. Thought tonight would not be any different especially since theyve continued to have guests waiting for tables outside. We had the calamari and miso cod. The calamari was ok, it had just the right amount of breading. Thought it could use some other kind of seasoning, perhaps a hint of garlic. But the cod was the greatest disappointment. Most everything on the plate was greasy. Only the beets on the side was perfectly seasoned and very refreshing. I am no fan of beets but that was a delight. The cod was not even seared, as they photographed on their table ad (see photo comparison). The ad really convinced us to try it. We should have refused it when it was served but i guess we thought the flavor would make it worthwhile still. But then it didnt. Check out the grease on the plate. Even the zide spinach was unbelievably greasy.Big fail tonight. Might take us a while to go back... hohumm.Service was pleasant though and the warriors were playing so that made up for the disappointment.
Was excited to try this place with a large work group as others raved how good they were. (I booked approximately 30 people.I ordered the salmon with broccolini and crab mashed potatoes. The salmon was adequate - cooked well but nothing special. The broccolini was ice cold...not just cooled off, but cold. I have to say the crab mashed was the best part of the entire meal.
We were reluctant to go here because its a chain restaurant and I thought it might not be up to the par of my accompanying party. However we had booked through OpenTable and werent able to change it. We were very surprised at the summation of our experience. The food was exquisitely prepared and presented, it was fresh, tasty and pleasing to all the senses. "Mimi" what is our server she was very attentive and also friendly. I was with my cousin who travels all over the world and dines at the best restaurants, she too was pleasantly surprised! The only reason I dont give it five stars is because the atmosphere was adequate but not spectacular, thus my choice for four stars.
Beautiful resturant. I ordered lobster roll. It was few amount lobster between bread, I expected more. My friends food was s8milar small portion of fish and another type of foods.Desert was tasty and big size. Service was gentle and nice. Clean with enough space for enjoying the meal.
So we went “All In” (tower menu item), and we were not disappointed! We had a group of 7, and had this tower plus the sticky ribs and the amount of food was perfect! They kept bringing us more chips and pita sides to go with all of the ceviche, so we were able to get through all of the food on the table and were completely satisfied by the amount of food. Very excited to come here for the first time and can’t wait to come back!
This was only my second time at a pacific catch restaurant and once again I was not impressed with the service. Food was good though. Each time I have come to one of their restaurants it’s been in large groups (6+). This time we visited for lunch, but we were seriously disappointed with the lack of service. After our food was served we were never visited again by anyone other than the bus boy. Only time we saw our waitress was after I flagged her down and at the end when we got the check. Will not return here
Pacific catch is not a place I would even think of as a vegan, but I was wrong! After watching a movie, my friend and I was hungry, so we started walking around San Mateo down town. She really liked the place, but I asked to have another round, to see if we can find something more vegan friendly. We eventually decided to go back to Pacific catch, and explored the menu more thoroughly. There are not too many vegan options, but I only needed one, and found the vegan poke bowl. It was very well made, tasty, and a combination of many ingredients I love. The service was really friendly and good as well.
There are a lot of choices or restaurants and fast foods on this street, but this one cut my attantion tonight. We enjoied the food and service was good. I realy liked that they serve filtered water and it has no clorine smell to it. Miriam was tge server, she did good. Nice smile. I recomend this place.
I was seated within 30 seconds on a Monday night, albeit at the bar. Eric the bartender was attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging. I requested encrusted Chilean sea bass, which was not on the menu. No problem. Food was amazing. Cocktails were stiff and creative, just the way I like them. I will return in 3 nights when Eric is bartending to try his recommendations. Prices are VERY fair. I can not Express how much I enjoyed my first experience at Pacific Catch!
Pacific Catch is a nice seafood place where you can get Asian and Japanese items revolving around seafood. We picked three appetizers and side dishes for the two of us and found it pretty satisfying. The fish was fresh and tasty. Parking might pose a challenge during busy hours.
I used to like it a lot but the quality has kinda dropped off. It feels more corporate franchise chain and the tastes and flavors are average. Still enjoy the atmosphere and bar. Good happy hour. Reservations at 7 for two turned into 720 and ended up at the bar. Coconut shrimp were bland and tasted defrosted frozen.
Eddie was absolutely amazing! We had a great experience coming to Pacific catch. The late-night happy hour is such a great deal, the food is always fresh, and we just had a great experience all around. Try the Ahi poki and the sticky ribs for a real treat!
Ok food. Confusing manipulative menus. We went in during happy hour and were sat at a table with a sign saying "Happy hour 50% off starters and Hawaiian poke" turns out we needed to sit at another area to get the discount - who does that? Why not just give everyone the discounted menu. Then, ordered a $16.50 pricey rice bowl where it lists four kinds of meat but turns out we only get to pick one. The Korean BBQ bowl sticky ribs turned out to be sticky PORK ribs. In a kbbq themed bowl. Who does that?? They also let you swop out half your rice for veggies instead of just including veggies in the bowl. Again, who does that?? All these confusing terms were not clearly explained by the waitress who expected us to understand the crazy rules of eating here. The food itself is ok - bowl was too sweet and poke had so much fried wonton we felt sick afterwards.
It was my first time and I would definitely recommend/go back. The service was good. The food came of the kitchen fast fresh and delicious. No complaints a all. The fish was very fresh and good. Price was right.
