A cool basement bar with the loveliest owner 😊 He’s very knowledgeable and if you’re not sure what to drink he’ll give you recommendations. The wings are GREAT! The sauce is delicious and the wings themselves are crispy. The truffle fries were also great. The bar itself has a cozy vibe and is a great place to grab a beer and even make new friends. Our favorite spot in Stavanger ❤️

Stavangers best place for craft beer. The beer selection is always on point and the food is amazing. 20 craft beers on tap and a full food menu if you are hungry with small dishes as well as large ones. Cant recommend the Korean chicken wings enough, they are amazing! Go here on Tuesdays and you will get a beer flight at a discounted price. In the summer season you will also get outdoor seating in the street (the pub is down in the cellar).

Very friendly and helping staff. The beer was good. Theres also "other then normal" beer served here. There also were some interesting snacks on the menu. The prices are okay in comparison to similar locations in Norway.

Quite simply the best bar in Norway. From the seemingly endless select of craft beer, tasty food and decor which can only be described as "like your grandmas house" - På Kornet is in a league of its. You would be a fool to visit Stavanger and not visit this gem just off the main harbour area.

I started with Lervigs dessert beer Sippin into darkness, ox breast with a Finnish IPA and ended with Kinns Svart Hav. The food was exotic. I recommend the beer! Closed for summer until 5th of August 2020.

Very nice and friendly place. Not to easy to see the place from outside. Relaxed atmosphere. Facilities are spacious, with several rooms. Decorations much above average. And, a very strong selection of craft beer on tap. I did not taste their food, but I believe it should be really good. Not as crowded as some of the surrounding places. Highly recommended.

A great place to dine or to just have a very good beer. På Kornet has a big tap line and a very exiting bottle list. You are also able to have a bar menu and eat in the bar. The staff are very polite and service minded. They show great knowledge about what they sell.

A very nicely styled bar in and old classic look. Located in the basement of the classic Victoria Hotel it has retained the old whitewashed brick walls for a genuine old style. Very decent selection of drinks and snacks.Over 10 types of beer on tap and overall an even larger selection.The bar has a decent amount of seating, but as it is very popular it may be quite crowded, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

Good pub. Lots of great craft beer and some nice food. We ordered sliders and they were delivered quickly and were very tasty. Good deals on Tuesday for beer (4x200ml samples for 199kr). Cosy atmosphere.

Move over wine pairings. Beer pairing is where its at! Delicious meat, pork belly, and plum dessert paired with fantastic beers. A wonderful experience we plan to enjoy again soon.

Great pub with a wide selection of beer. The staff is very friendly and helpful! One of the coziest places in town! You can also order food, borrow board games, and get seating for larger groups. During the winter, this is the pub you visit to experience the true meaning of "hygge". Also, one of the cleanest restrooms Ive seen late at night in a pub!

A really nice place in Stavanger. A bit different pub, but in a good way. Really cool staff and a good selection of nice and unusual beer. And the best thing is that the stock is constatnly changing so always something new on tap.

Outstanding food, hard to say if the vegetables or the meats are to be spared for the last bite. Take beer not wine and go with their recommendation of beers, theyll serve you amazingly fruity beers (some more like champagnefrom micro breweries. You wont regret it.

20 beer on tap, where the majority changes every week. Full menu in restaurant also changes every week. These guys love what theyr doing and spread their knowledge and enthusiasm around beer to their guests.

This place has a nice atmosphere and nice food I had a nice plate of reindeer and it tasted just right. They also serve special made beer here but that you need to try out your self since I do not drink any alcohol. But my friends loved it.

Cozy cellar for enjoying the 20 different beers on tap.

På Kornet is a brand new place in Stavanger – it opened in the beginning in January and it is located in the same place as Nero used to be (or Cartellet if you remember that far back). På Kornet aims to be a gastropub and while that term has not been used that often in Stavanger, there are places that try to combine a bar with food serving. In downtown Stavanger this has not been that successful in my opinion as most of the places seem to focus on the drinks and not the food. So for that reason I was excited to try out this new place!The old facilities of Nero has not been changed that much. But when you enter the place you now have a bar to the right and a chambre separee if you go further in. To the left you have the restaurant section with room for maybe 20 people or so. The bar section has simple furniture that allows you to sit down and enjoy the 20 beers that are on tap – or the selection that is on can/bottle.We had a table in the restaurant and the menu is short but included cod, pork, soup, ham and cheese and you can order the dishes in small portions (startersor big portions. I decided to have some cured meat to start with, some cod and some potato soup. The cured meat was a fairly small portion but seemed to include some coppa, cured ham, salami sausage of some sort and it was served with good, fresh bread and a good soft butter.The cod that I had was great – served on bed of fried up leak and with a creamy sauce. It was so good that one of my friends decided to order a big portion after she had eaten the small portion. The potato soup was also good an apparently made with Lucky Jack beer and parmesan and gruyere cheese. I’m not sure that I tasted that but I enjoyed the bits of cured meat in the soup. One of my friends had the pork main meal and that seemed to be a generous portion. We rounded of by sharing some cheese – it was great to see that they had a good selection of different cheese and not only the most common ones.Conclusion: my first impression is very good and I look forward to see how this will develop. As a wine drinker I would of course like to see the option of more wine by the glass (there was only 3 options on the menubut at least I see that they will have more or less weekly events for wine tasting and that it is great to see. All in all a good addition to the pub and bar scene in Stavanger. I hope that they will continue to focus on the food and change the menu frequently.
