Via Santa Caterina D'Alessandria, 15, 50129 Firenze FI, Italy, Florence
A 14-minute walk from Firenze Statuto train station, this lively hostel is also 10 minutes' walk from the statue of David and 13 minutes' walk from Florence Cathedral.Mixed-sex dorms offer free Wi-Fi and en suite bathrooms, plus bunk beds with individual reading lights and lockers; private rooms add flat-screen TVs. Room service is available. There's a seasonal outdoor pool and a Cuban-themed pool bar, as well as an indoor pool, a sauna and a hammam. Other amenities include a gym, a basement bar and a restaurant, plus a rooftop terrace and coin-operated laundry facilities. A hot breakfast buffet is offered for a fee.
Stayed there for a week, which according to the staff was quite an extensive booking for this hostel.Located nicely in walking distance to the main station, Mercato Centrale and a lot of known attractions, we had the good fortune to get a really nice room (no. 424with a private balcony viewing the dome on request at check-in (the staff was really helpful). The roof terrace is worth a visit, we did not use the pool. All in all, a good clean room and bathroom on a quiet floor. A couple of convenient outlets would be nice, also our room key stopped working once.Still recommended without hesitation.
One of the best hostels out there! An excellent experience. Dorms come with towels and toiletries, which is not common in other places. Very good location - quite area. 5 mins walk to tram station. 15-20 mins walk to city center.
Bad welcoming. Giovanni and Denis didnt even say Hello or Good evening when we arrived. First and only thing that Giovanni said was: For the check in that way. Then we saw Denis, we said Good evening and he replied: passports please? And €12 for the local tax.The room was ok, we didnt really like the bathroom. No shower box so everytime we were taking a shower the floor was full of water and we couldnt use for the next 3 hours, waiting to dry.We decided to have a drink in the terrace. We waited 15 minutes. No one was at the bar. Finally a guy arrived and when I asked if I could order a drink he said to me: we open in 10 minutes.45 more minutes passed and no one arrived. We decided to have the aperitive somewhere else.We booked this place also because of the pool and the bar in the terrace but no. Also the pool was closed but I understand that as the weather was bad.For the money we spent (€102per night we were expecting something more.Nice location though. Close to the centre.
We stayed for 4 nights. We are quite disappointed as we heard a lot of good things. The location is great, not too far of the centrum. Everything looks good until you try to use it. The rooms are not really cleaned everyday (we see the dustjust wiped off. The promised swimming pool and sauna are not open in the summer (didnt say anywhereand the outside pool is only open until 19h and you are obligated to wear a swimming cap (you can buy it for 7€(mentioned nowhere). All common areas close at 22h or 23h (outsidewhich is very early for a hostel. There is no where to sit to have a social interaction with other people. The staff or doesnt speak English or are rude (or both). It wouldve been fine if there was just a place to sit , since there are a lot of shared rooms, where you cant really talk in the evening. They are a kinda hotel trying to be a hostel, which makes all things not good. The lift is broken and you have to wait a very long time until its there. Shower and Aircon was good. Breakfast was ok, but a bit expensive and the staff wasnt very nice. There was an opportunity to make it a great place, but they didnt use it. The price was expensive for all the services you couldnt use, that they promised on the website. Very disappointed. Is this meant to be a youth hostel or an elementary school/retirement home?
As a solo traveller, I found this hostel had lots of potential for a social atmosphere (ground floor bar and beautiful rooftop Terrancebut meeting people was incredibly hard! Most places were empty with very few and no social events provided. The rooms were very clean, towels and linens provided, but the kitchen does not include a stove or oven, only a microwave with cutlery and plates, etc. Overall I would recommend it for a family or a close to hotel experience.
Decent hostel, 15 minute walk from the train station and the city centre. Rooms were spacious, I missed the atmosphere, it was a really big hostel, so if youre into that then its great. But it felt a little too un-personal for me
Rooms are clean and new, very clean bathroom. I stayed in a private ensuited room for 2 nights.I gets very noise at end of the evening with as it is a big hostel with some open activities in the evening. And very early in the morning before 7am there are waste trucks going in the street that are VERY noise and the rooms are not very well sounded proof.
Real cash machine, not very nice personal (dont think they know how to smile)The location is pretty good, only a few minutes from downtown. In the 8 pl room, only 1 shower/toilet, makes for some complicated organizationCool terrasse that closes a 11pm, so no long nights having fun with newly met peopleThey do have a 30 minutes happy hour at the downstairs bar (still no happy staff ..), every drink is 3€- the irish pub just in front of the hostel is a good place to continueI couldnt park my car, closest suggestion is a 15 min walkPool is closed form 8pm to 11am (dont forget to bring your nicest swim cap if ypu want to tip your toes in the water)
Best time ever. Clean. Tidy. Amazing people, in the city. What else can you ask for. First time in a hostel. Will never book a hotel anymore
EXTREMELY noisy rooms with a bar outside. Very poor AC. Dirty and dusty rooms with a used face mask under the furniture. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Staff is not very friendly, specially upon check in, they’ll ask you to come back because they are too busy. I can totally understand and can be reasonable, but they seem to be short staffed at all times, and the way they communicate shows you they are stressed. If you arrive at 2pm for check in, you will make a big line. This place is more like a hotel than a hostal. Rooms are well kept and very modern. Pool is nice, although you pay 1.50€ for a cap that you will throw away after. If you’re traveling solo, you might be lucky to have good roommates, otherwise there isn’t a place to connect with people other than the patio/pool. Price is low which is good but they could invest just a little in having friendlier staff which would make a big difference.
I loved this hostel! Definitely recommend staying here when going to Florence. They have AC, prices are good, they clean your room everyday.💯 would stay here again when I come back. One thing to be aware of is when arriving around 2:30-3:30p to check in, there may be a long line to check in and will look like the photo shown below. It will probably take around 30-45 minutes to check in as you will wait in this line. However, if you come in maybe later to check in by 1-2 hours, I have noticed there isn’t a line.
Good Hostel, okay as a hotel. The Plus Florence offer Hostel vibes with community space like roof top, shared pool, small gym and laundry and Hotel experience with room service. We were lucky that we arrived in a time where there was not a big groups checking in or out. So we did not need to wait. However because we did not arrive on the peak time the male staff on front desk seemed annoyed...understandable but still a bit unfortunate start for us in the beautiful city. The room was clean and since one of our travel companion fell out we had a additional bed which was also commented in a judgy tone by the staff. The shower head was loose and the toilet seat is oddly high and uncomfortable. But for the price and seeing it as a Hostel it was good. The location is quite far from the main attraction but it is still okay. You have supermarket around the corner and multiple restaurants. I would recommend it as a budget stay and for big groups.
It didnt seem like a hostel - it was a hotel: a rooftop terrace, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym, laundry room - the works. The rooms were quite large for an 8 share, with each person getting sufficient privacy. The staff was very professional and room cleaning was very good.
Staff were kind and the rooms were clean. The place had a nice vibe. However the top bunks are very close to the A.C. which was uncomfortable.
The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable with really good air conditioning. But the service was terrible they refused a very important package after we spoke to them and they agreed to taking it. Overall they seemed very unmotivated to help you.
Very expensive for what it offers. First of all, you cannot check in earlier than 2:30 because the system is blocked. And when the right time came, you had to wait a very long line. The room we got was on ground floor with view at main road. Even though the windows were closed, the noise was way too high. You could hear every car passing, every laugh and conversation from the bar across the street. The bathroom was too small as 2 people couldn’t fit in the same time, but at least is was clean. Try to get a room on different floor. We could’t change it as the hotel was fully booked.Overall, a horrible experience - no sleep at all, too expensive for what if offers. I am so happy I stayed there for only 1 night.
A really good service, we received a new room after we complained because the blinds where not working. But still the rooms are small but for the price everything is fine. And the pool is a big plus in summer!
Clean rooms and great pool area! Our room was in another building though, which meant we had to walk quite a bit to leave the hotel.
I had a fantastic experience here! Rooms are modern, bathrooms lovely and clean and there is functioning air condition! There is a common room and other facilities to meet new people and hang out. Its location is absolutely fantastic too. Walking distance to literally anywhere in this beautiful city. Internet worked perfectly too which is a plus for us travellers! Staff were fantastic as well. Overall, a really great place that I’d recommend!
It was good bc of the rooms that are clean and the facilities like the pool and the bar where people can come together and meet, but some of the staff of the bar/restaurant (waiterswhere not so friendly and helpful, to a point that i got very annoyed by it.. The reception and luggage staf were friendly tho.
I arrived at 13.30 and the check-in starts at 14.30. The guy in the front desc checked me in anyway and just told me to come back for the key at 14.30. No problems there, I waited in the lobby for the hour and watched some netflix. I got the room and they gave me this paper to hang on the bed I choose, so no one would touch it.Room was quite small but it was for 4 people and had a separate toilet and a shower. I had a problem with the locker since my padlock was too thin and didnt do anything for the lock. I went down to recept. and they gave me a working padlock for free. 1 locker for each person and not that big, my backpack gould just fit in. If youre travelling with suitcase of anykind, youre not going to get it in. It caused the other people in my room to just have their luggage there in the open. They offered towels and shampoo/shower gel for free. I stayed in the 2nd floor and we had a door to access the pool area (via stairsdirectly. I didnt even try to use the elevator since it seemed to take very long time to work. Pool area was nice. You had to wear a swimcap for the pool but there was also this big shower-thingy where everyone cooled off, very nice. The room was quite hot during the night especially in the top bunk. The aircon didnt quite reach all the way back around the corner. All the beds had 1 normal outlet and 1 usb charger outlet. It also had a small lamp and a shelf to put your little things in. Bed was ok comfortable and clean.I had the 9e breakfast one morning. You could choose from hard bread, croissants, some fruit, cereal and warm milk, something that might have been scrambled eggs and coffee from the machine. The rooftop terrace had an awesome view but didnt have any service and was only open until 11pm.All in all - it was ok. If youre willing to put some things aside and dont require much, this was ok. Location was 15mins from everywhere and there were restaurants and breakfast places nearby.
Clean and spacious with access to a pool and a super rooftop view. However, not cozy or hostel like at all. Reception are okay, but no one seems to care much. Air conditioner in the room broke.
Was decent but didn’t really have a great hostel vibe (bar/party options were poor). Also air conditioning didn’t really work so had to use wet towels to fall asleep.
Nice clean place. Great service. Good beds. Good space in the rooms. The pool was small and the gym too simple. But otherwise a very nice place.
A great hostel, would definitely recommend and will be coming back. This hostel is much more like a hotel, its very clean and modern. In a great location from the train station. Has great facility including an outside pool.My only problem was a leaking Aircon where I was told to just out a towel on the floor.
Rooms were great; clean and tidy. Beds werent squeaky like some other hostels. Bar had good prices and hostel had a great vibe. Despite long check in times it was more than understandable considering the number of people staying.Only negative was the shower was open to the rest of the bathroom; making water splash outside.
It was like being the unwelcome adult at a teenage party. We were afraid of getting an STD by touching the elevator buttons. Also our room was so warm we had to take cold showers all the time. The common room was a bit nasty and the service was impersonal and negligible. Also one of the staff members was inappropriate and very intimidating.
Excellent hotel, has all the facilities you need. Cool downstairs bar area too and is very close to the city centre and main train station.
I stayed on the 3rd floor and the room was great. Relatively quiet, clean and well equipped. The separate shower and toilet rooms were nice. The bar is a good place to meet new people, but dont expect a party since most people just sit there and drink. The location is not too far from the centro and a supermarket and restaurants are easily available nearby. The terrace was really stunning, but beware of creepy men sometimes and early closing time.
Check-in took awhile since everyone was trying to check in at the same time. Otherwise, this hostel had great facilities, clean and modern rooms, and comfortable beds!
Beds and rooms overall were great, we were lucky enough to share with some lovely people.Sadly we waited nearly 2 hours to check in!! Very manic reception when it comes to checking in.Location was good.If u want to go in pool (indoor or outdooryou have to wear a swimming cap and flip flops- which they will charge u for if u don’t have.Kitchen had a microwave and fridge.
Hostel staff polite and very laid back…Check in takes a long time, when we arrived had to wait about 40 minutes.Stayed in a 2 person room.Bed was comfortable and had a decent shower. Not too far from the attractions and plenty of food and bars near by.The place had good WiFi and a small pool and chill out area, you need a swimCap to use pool which is available at reception. The bar can get quite busy.Overall the place is good with a decent mixture of young travellers, families, priests and couples.Worth the money but don’t expect the ritz. There was air con but it was the loudest I’ve ever heard and hardly produced any cold air. Our unit decided to start clicking and banging in the middle of the night. We were based on the top floor in building B (6th floorit was ridiculously hot and the lifts are small and slow, and didn’t work a few times. This feels like a budget hostel.
Great location about 15 minute walk from the train station and not far at all from the main tourist areas.Unfortunately we arrived at the wrong time and had an hour wait to check in with a queue of about 25 people in front of us.We were in building B which is very outdated and there is only 1 lift up and 1 lift down meaning you are likely to queue every time.We were on the 6th floor which was very hot and the air conditioning in the room was pointless. One night we hardly slept it was so hot so if this could get sorted it would make it much better. The pool area is great, it was full a few times so I think they should look at making it bigger as people obviously want to use it more.Don’t forget a swimming cap too as you need it for the pool.It was very good value for money compared to other accommodation in the area and I would stay again for this if I wasn’t using it much I.e just somewhere to sleep whilst exploring Florence.
Pros: the hostel is in a convenient location within walking distance of the train station, many bus and tram lines, and most of the main tourist attractions in Florence. It feels pretty safe, the rooms are clean, and there is breakfast and light meals available at the location (price not included in the room fee!)Pool on premises, if you like that sort of thing.WiFi is free and provides decent speed.Cons: this is a hostel clearly designed for kids. If you’re over 25, you may want to find a different location. It can get noisy, rowdy and crowded at times. While the hostel is within walking distance of the central area and attractions, it is not itself in a particularly nice area. The surroundings are dirty and there is a pervasive smell of sewer.Checkin line can be very long, the place is always busy. The AC is weak. I heard some people complaining that theirs didn’t work at all, and apparently nobody was available to fix it promptly. Ours worked, but on very hot days we had to sleep without covers.Room service changes the towels, and cleans superficially while the room is occupied. Beds were not made for us.Hard individual beds were provided. Adequate and clean, but certainly not comfortable.Sound proofing through the doors and windows is practically non-existing. If you’re planning on going to sleep early to have an early start, better have some earplugs handy. Kids laughing and talking loudly late at night will sounds as if they’re in the room with you. There’s a wide gap under the door, and the AC light can’t be turned off. If you need darkness to sleep soundly, have an eye mask handy.Breakfast service starts at 7. If you need an early start, have some change ready for the vending machines by the lobby, or be prepared to walk some 10 minutes to one of the few cafes that open early.Storage space is scarce, and power plugs are inconveniently located.Altogether, given the price, you’re probably much better off finding an Airbnb apartment, unless you’re part of a large group.
We heard about the long check in times online and they were true. 20+ people all in line to check in at 2:30 sharp. And when we finally got our keycard it didn’t work. Also our room was very hot. If you can avoid it then do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. No issues with the staff just poor management.
My experience here was varied - some elements really impressed me, some shocked me.Their room was superb. It was really nice, 18 degree aircon, very modern bathroom, spacious area. Thats where it stops.I used the washing machine, what a mistake. I paid 14.50 Euros for my clothes to be spun around a bit and come out of the machine wet.The staff were appalling. They tried to take half full drinks off my table twice. When they werent doing this they were dropping pizzas, charging me 35 Euros instead of 7 and using their hands as a sieve to drain water out of my glass when making a cocktail.Plus Hostel also had false advertising. They advertised a swimming pool but turns out you need a 7 Euro swimming cap - WHY? And their free buffet was... you guessed it... not free. It was 4 Euros. I confronted staff with the flyer that said free and they had no response. Also dont stay on the 5th floor, the elevator takes about 4 minutes to come, and when it does it only holds 4 people and takes 4 minutes to get to the top.In conclusion, room good, everything else bad.*Edit, now in a new hostel that is much worse. I miss Plus Florence.
Very close to the centre which was great for sightseeing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms and hostel were very clean. Would definitely stay here again!
I can not NOT recommend this hostel enough. I have been traveling around Europe for a month staying in multiple different hostels and have had the absolute worst experience with this one. I stayed here for 3 nights and right from the beginning the AC and the toilet in the room weren’t working. After not being able to sleep at all the second night due to the heat and the smell from the toilet, we complained to the hostel and were assured it would be fixed by that night. We called during the day to make sure it was being handled(because we were going to book a different place instead of notand were told quickly they’d look into it before they rudely hung up on us. When we returned, the room was hotter than we had left it and the sheets on the bed were wet from the heat/humidity. After complaining again they sent someone up to look at it, only for it to stop working again an hour later. Only good thing about this place is the panoramic views of Florence from the roof top, other than that I would not recommend.
We stayed here for 2 nights in June, the “happy hour” was a ‘happy half-hour’ for 30 minutes in which we were subjected to what can only be described as a school disco. We were not allowed outside, yet the 40+ were allowed to sit outside, we are mid 20s not 14 year olds trying to have a drink illegally, to top it off the bottles of decent liquor were replaced with petrol and passed off as drinks. The aircon is okay.
Worst hostel I have stayed in. The AC doesnt work, 5 people sleeping in a dorm for 4, and the staff is super unhelpful, acting annoyed that I am complaining about the AC. Also, check in took me 90 minutes. Yes its peak travel season and theres a concert in the city but why the excuses? They charged 100 euros per night. So if they can charge more they can also plan for the inflow of extra guests.
Not great, not terrible but quite expensive. This is a huge hostel with a nice hostel vibe. It’s ok clean and ok maintained - staff was very nice. For the price you can find something better though (check air***).
I stayed in a 6 bunk bed mixed dorm. It was my first hostel experience and I chose it purely based on the reviews I read before booking. I would say I was satisfied and nothing to complain except the fact about check-in. They let you check in 2.30pm and check out at 10am. It’s so weird because of the gap in hours. The queues are awfully long by then. Felt this could be organised much better. However they have a luggage room where they let you keep your bags for free before your check in. After you have checked out you’ll pay 3€ per person irrespective of the hours.Bonus points; they provide towels, toiletries and have an in house bar, restaurant, pool and an amazing rooftop with a lil bit of duomo view.
Room was very nice for the price. And location was great. But all facilities were closed or out of order. Vending machines and chairs at the roof top - no bar. Outdoor pool closed. Indoor pool needs reservation. Laundromat out of order. Gym only cardio. Sauna out of order. 1 fridge to share with the entire hostel, which was obviously packed (no access to a kitchen).Didnt try the food, so no comment on that. For just a place to sleep it was satisfactory, but dont book for facilities.
Great experience. The rooms were clean and spacious for a twin private. The hostel has many amenities and a fun youthful atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I booked 2 nights on different days and had great sleeps there. Bathroom may need some extra cleaning, nevertheless, one of my favorite hostels in Italy.
value for money. the rooms are small not really much space to move around. we were in a 4 beds bedroom pretty tight. good side is that the rooms are bathrooms are super clean. they give you towels which many hostels wont, soap and shower gel that is replaced every day. big plus!downside: walls are thin so it is pretty noicy at least ground floor where we were. also no kitchen so youre forced to eat out but for me the worse was the check in. we left our bags and came back sharp check in time and had to wait in line for 1hs 🤦🏼♀️
This is the most comfortable and spacious hostel (not hotel but among the hostel categoryI’ve ever stayed. I rate it by all of the factors like friendly staffs, cleanliness, accessibility of necessities and convenient location.I stayed in the 6beds dormitory. I’ve stayed so many hostels in my life but usually the bed or the room in a dormitory doesn’t have so much space. Also the bathroom and shower room are normally downsides. However this hostel has the private bathroom and shower room both in the dormitory, and they are so clean. There was no one except me at the first night even tho there were many people staying, which have never happen to me in another hostels because usually they put people together to be easy. They have the common room, large roof top bar and breakfast cafe. I made some friends there. You can also use refrigerators and microwaves too. A towel, a dryer and a soap, you don’t have to be worried. You can use for free. (If you mind shampoo and conditioner, yes you need them. But you can get anything at the shop just close by.)Overall, I had a fantastic experience for just 25€ for one night.Thank you for your service, PLUS :)
- Make sure you check your receipt, I paid for the city tax in cash when I checked in and they charged me for it again while checking out, they game a receipt but it only included what I paid online in my reservation, in other words they charged me for it but didn’t log it in.. It was my fault for not noticing.. don’t let it happen to you..!! Besides that issue the place is really nice.. everyone kept saying it’s not a real hostel experience but I liked it. I got plenty of space, hot shower and a clean bed…
This is the worst hostel I have ever slept in. It has great advertisement on the internet, but once you arrive you learn it was all a hoax. I had a reservation there for 10 days, but after only 2 I wanted to get out of there. My main problems with it where:- The hostel looks like an old hotel. Big building, long hallways without even a slight decoration. No "hostel" vibe at all. No good vibes, or people chilling like in others Ive been.- The guys at the reception where not nice at all. They looker bored and unhelpful. More like bank employers than of a hostel.- My bedroom (deluxe suitewas really, and I emphasize, really small. There was not even a desktop. The water of my private bathroom was super cold and, when eventually came a little hot, it run out in less than 5 minutes.- All the common areas where empty, even at Saturday night.- Breakfast and dinner restaurant where closed. And, since the hostel doesnt have a kitchen (what hostel doesnt have a kitchen?), I strongly relied on that.- The "gym" or fitness area is closed most of the day. I couldnt even see it.- After deciding to leave, and asking for a refund for some of the days i wasnt going to be there, I was confronted by a huge bureaucracy of emails and phone calls, until they told me they where not going to give me a penny back. Not even a single night. My conclusion is that this is a malfunctioning Hotel that did not know how to make money so eventually they decided to call it a Hostel. There are other really good and "real" hostels out there in Florence. Do yourself a favor and stay out of this place.Regards.
