11 Leonard St, Shoreditch, London EC2A 4AQ, Sumbawanga
Artisan roastery's coffee shop, with onsite bakery for breakfast, cakes, eggs and lunchtime snacks.
Very horrible experience here. During my less than one hour breakfast time there, there were 3 women keeping checking (pushingto ask the same questions for 14times: “are you still working on it” for my different dishes for over 14 times!!!!Two of them sneakily just took away my empty cups which I need to drink water without asking very quickly, when I was checking my working email!!!This pushing attitude made me feel I had my breakfast in the hell. So stressful. Not worth for 30 mins ride and spending £42 pounds there. With tips £5.5…. I feel so sad for people who live in London to have low quality of time. Looks like those type of attitude restaurants are a lot here.
Fantastic coffee! They have a wide selection of beans too if you would like to make your coffee at the comfort of your home. If you have time, would recommend to give their food a try too. I have enjoyed the food thoroughly on my repeated visits.
Amazing coffee and a great atmosphere, we were sat right at the bar facing into the kitchen which may put some people off but we really enjoyed it. The V60 filter coffee was fresh and full of flavour and came with tasting notes and a brewing guide which was a nice touch. Good prices considering the location too!
One of the best cafe in London and it is personally my favorite coffee spot either to drink or to buy beans.I highly recommend Empire Blend Beans for latte or even flat white.Thier flat white and ice latte are so good.
My go to breakfast spot in London. I always take the eggs Benedict and one of their great juices!
Great coffee, pretty good food. Service was very quick and polite. The place is a bit too loud in my opinion but this is an individual preference.Definitely worth visiting for the great coffee and food.
Randomly picked this place off of Google maps and wow. What an experience. Fantastic astetic and seeing their minimalistic waste ethos really made me feel glad to be here. Food was incredible as expected. Would go again in a heartbeat.
Excellent ! We went there twice during our two-day trip to London. The food is incredibly tasty and the staff is very professional. Thank you!
The food was strange and unbalanced. Ordered the toast with hummus: it was extremely oily (the olive oil was tasty though but there was too much of it). I used napkins to remove extra oil but it didn’t help. The sourdough bread was tasty but too thick for the type of toast you expect to have. You don’t feel relaxed: the music is too loud, and I had feeling that we need to eat quickly as there was a queue (30 minutes for sureand the manager looked several times if we were finishing. I was mislead by the number of reviews and quite good rating.
We expected great things from Ozone after queuing. The host gave us a warm welcome, but the waiting staff were very rude and keen to rush us through eating. The food was dry and didn’t live up to the pretentious setting. We’ll go to Pret next time.
Excellent brunch experience! They serve wonderful food and their service is also brilliant.
Very good coffee in a cool setting. The cold brew was especially delicious. Very odd service set up for for coffee to sit in however. You have to queue with people waiting for a table at the restaurant just to get seated to then have someone to come take your order, would make more sense to just take it at the POS system. It’s better for the coffee flavor and the environment to drink it on location so making it a bit easier would be my only minor suggestion.
My son brought me here for brunch. I can honestly say this is the BEST brunch experience I have ever had in London. Chilled atmosphere, top class informal, friendly & efficient staff with many thanks to Doogle & team. Lovely to witness top quality dishes being created before our eyes and great to chat with kitchen guy aka Stanley Tucci as we sat at the counter enjoying delicious Eggs Benedict, Biggie Breakfast & Ozone coffee. Every element of our dishes were best quality and beautifully prepared. I enquired about freshly squeezed juices on the menu and Doogle took the time to kindly show me a bottle of their supplier of fresh juices (Natoora). I am pretty fussy about quality of freshly squeezed juice and this was 10/10. I will pass on this info to my brother who runs a beautiful 5* guest house in the Cotswolds #abbotsgrange. I also love their Kitchen Philosophy. It was such a great experience, we didn’t want to leave and needless to say there was a queue out the door when we left! We WILL be back. I am a huge fan of artisan cafés and this one will be hard to beat … 5* all the way
Lovely breakfast and very efficient. Maybe a bit too efficient. We had hardly finished our breakfast when we felt we were being nudged out in a fairly unsubtle way. There was a queue to come in but we had spent nearly 40 quid for undoubtedly a decent breakfast but not so special that it felt ok to be rushed.
Top notch cold brew.Delicious banana bread with a great jam.Ambience is beautiful and staff were quick and friendly.
As we walked in the aroma was complex and delicious, an interesting mix of spices and toasted bread. The braised beef was excellent. The mackerel crumpet was very fresh and lite. All of the staff are friendly and their open kitchen is great. And the booths are truly comfortable.
One of my favourite places in London. The banana bread with cultured butter is so delicious.. the crunchy/salty/seeded top is outstanding!
Absolutely love this place! It can get very busy during lunch time so if you dont have a reservation or dont want to wait I would recommend to come around 1pm.The coffee is a must drink here, apparently they roast the coffee fresh in the same location and it just tastes amazing. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. Defently worth the price. Last time I went there I had the brisket burger and was lucky enough to see how it was prepared (love open kitchenswith my own eyes. It has the perfect mixture of sour, sweet, salty and juice.Defently recommending this place if you have some more budget or just want to enjoy quality coffee food and service.
The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. The only downside was the 15% service fee which is unusually high even for London. Would expect it perhaps in very cheap places, this was not the case.
This used to be my favourite breakfast spot. Unfortunately no longer the case due to repeated experiences with sloppy, rude, arrogant service, greedy management. After spending £35 for breakfast for 1, I asked for extra hot water and the manager said if they gave extra hot water to every customer how would they make money ?Batch brew was cold and stale, when told, the waitress did not even say sorry, forgot my side dish despite restaurant being half empty never said sorry for that either. My V60 (to replace the stale batch brew came after my breakfast had finished)the list can go on
we waited for about 30 minutes outside the restaurant to get seated for brunch (they were short staffed, which is understandable!but let me tell you! the wait was 100% worth it! i had a chai and eggs benedict and it was delicious! i would highly recommend, dont be turned away from the long line
Omelette - 5 starsMy husband thought this was one of the best hes had in his life. The omelette wasnt the usual milky creamy omelette but a savoury flavour - they nailed the Maillard reaction you get more from a fried egg. Even then, it was still light and almost souffle-like. It has an unusual beetroot and kale filling - Im typically sceptical of odd combinations but again this worked magically without being too sweet from the beetroot.Crumpet with mackerel - 3.5 starsA bit on the salty side. The crumpet had the fried texture more of a hash brown. I think I like my crumpets fluffier.Oat latte - 3 starsNot my kind of latte. It was the fruitier, acidic sort of brew.Cold drip - 5 starsMy husband loved this.
Chanced upon them by luck cause I stayed at an Airbnb near by. Theres usually a queue and so I got curious one day and decided to step in. So pleased with myself for doing so cause it was awesome! The food and coffee were excellent and I made sure I dropped by a second time on my last day in London before I flew off!
Great coffee, friendly service and excellent food. I love that so much of the menu is made in house and the company ethos of minimal waste.I feel very inspired to make changes in my own business with regards to sustainability after visiting here, i even took home one of the paper menus to show my team whats possible.I love the venue too, its awesome seeing your food prepared in front of you and the huge coffee roaster downstairs! Will definitely visit again ☺️
My favorite place, the best possible place for breakfast and high quality coffee
Nice place, great coffee, as per food - I cannot say much. My egg Benedict had eggshell in it, the French toast was too though. Service was okay.
Ozone Coffee Roasters is one of the best gems in London. Australian-style brunch, mixed with local English favorites. Staff is friendly and shop is well designed for dining with friends or eating/reading alone. If you only have time for a quick coffee, their takeaway flat whites are amongst the best in the city.Try their other location too!
Great food, great coffee. If you’re a foodie like me i recommend sitting somewhere around the kitchen area. It was so fun to watch all those delicious meals being cooked while enjoying mine.
Amazing place for breakfast or brunch. So kind stuff and so delicious Egg Benedikt - hope too visit this please soon again.
What a treat to find this place open having arrived early in London having travelled by Sleeper. The staff are soooo nice, welcoming and helpful.Quite possibly the finest scrambled eggs Ive ever enjoyed. Seriously good coffee as you might expect and a carafe of water which I hadnt expected and was a very nice touch.Stylish interiors, good seating. Try it, you wont be disappointed!
Taste 5/5, after visiting a couple of timesBut service is very slow…..need to wait for 15min for coffee. But when I sipped the coffee, 15min waiting was not a problem.Egg Benedict is their iconic dish and it is so good. French toast is also tasty.Kedegree and omelette are also good.Pastry is above average.
The espresso was very aromatic with a pleasant acidic aftertaste. Got beans for home brewing as well and they smell great (havent tried them yet). Interesting interior with a long coffee bar, large sitting area and the roastery in the basement is a germ.
Simple eggs on toast was very good. Tad pricey but that is London, enjoyed the V60 but coffee was just placed down at the table which I felt for a well known coffee place wasn’t good service. Enjoyed the open plan layout, serving staff were all friendly.
Used to like this place as they had great brunch and coffee but recently the quality has been changed.Herb was dead, bacon was too greasy, sausage was overcooked, hash isn’t hash…So sad as I lost one of my favourite cafe:(
Went for coffee and dessert - fantastic! The cakes are excellent, the slices are generous and they also have some vegan cake options.Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Ill definitely go again and so should you!
Decent food menu. Pork schnitzel was tasty. Filter coffee was average, an interesting experience and cool decor but forgettable. Service was pleasant and friendly.
Really nice atmosphere. Really relaxed with nice music playing in background. Good for catching up with friends or relaxing on your own with coffee and a small bite. However, found it a bit expensive for what it is. Wouldn’t come here regularly.
I dont get why they charge 3£ for service for one person. U would expect each spend about 25£ for a breakfast here with coffee and juice. The food was good but the coffee was not very tasty. the blend was very odd… Egg benedict with the potatoes cookies underneath was very good.
Excellent brunch and didnt have to wait to long on a Saturday morning. Great coffee as usual
Completely fantastic experience and coffee at Ozone in their Shoreditch.Having previously visited their Hackney location, I knew I would get an excellent brew.I was given a seat and ordered their Nicaraguan Drip. It was well balanced and well extracted. If came with a nice card explaining the roast as well.My oat flat white with their house roast blend was nice but I think their oat milk was a bit sour in my opinion...Otherwise great interior, smells, and sounds. A must visit and top 10 for London definitely. If you liked my review feel free to give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more coffee reviews!
Good brunch near old street,Had a toast with eggs and eggs benedict, it was good. They served tea in a very cute teapot. We arrived at 11 in between two rushes it seemed, and I think most people did not have a booking. We sat side by side very close to the take away area (they serve coffee and pastries to goso I would recommend being three or four to get a proper booth.Overall a nice saturday morning, always find brunch a little expensive for basic ingredients (count 17-20£ for a tea and single dish).
Spacious coffee shop in Shoreditch, great for socialising and plenty of bar seats and booths. Just had drinks this time, though their menu looked interesting
You want to have your breakfast here !Various of delicious worth-value breakfast dishes.Great homemade coffee and kind service.Arrive early or make reservations in order to avoid the line. Quite busy at the weekends.FYI they don’t accept cash.
It’s almost a speakeasy for coffee and brunch lovers as you can‘t quite see it from the outside.Nicely creamy coffee, wide brunch menu served by attentive, friendly staff with a bit of upbeat music in the background.Their vegan menu could be longer, really, but the banana bread alone makes it worth it!Give it a try, you won’t regret it.
My wifes favourite coffee place in perhaps the whole world, and now I can see why. Best coffee Ive had since leaving Sydney, and brunch good to match.
What an incredible experience here at ozone! Started with what can only be described as “expert level coffee” then moved on to the banana bread with peanut butter and that is an absolute game changer!!Well worth a visit !
I always love the coffee and breakfast here. However, I recently found the service is barred me from going back. If you want a relaxing time over your cup of coffee, it would not be happening even when the coffee shop is almost empty because their waitress will keep pushing to order, finishing up and billing. If your appearances are not English or continental, the service could be irresistible, if you are looking at the menu for too long, you would hear the chefs talk to each other about why people are not using‘ google translation’ or your tall blond & waitress could put your napkins to your breakfast plate before you finish your last bit and bring your a wrong bill immediately. I do not recommend this Coffee shop to anyone anymore. I supported them because they support women baristas, but if their service attitude is against non-English customers is not changed, I would not go back.
Tldr: Highly recommended. Difficult picking something? Try banana bread. They’re passionate at roasting their own beans, so I’ve no doubt on the freshness of coffee they served me.Cold drip is smooth and aromatic, definitely worth a try. Banana bread is so full of flavour, take a dip in that crunchy nut butter and it’ll light up your afternoon.
Great brunch spot with even better coffee! Their eggs Benedict was unique and really tasty, had the trout. Definitely heading here again.
No doubt - Best coffee in London.Worth going the extra mile to get the coffee in here. While you are there you need to try their lunches as well. 10/10
