Down-to-earth eatery serving specialty sushi rolls & hibachi-grill plates, plus Thai & Chinese fare.
I have been a customer here for several years, usually ordering something at least once a week. The food is excellent, the prices are great, and the owners are very friendly. This is the first place I recommend to friends if theyre hungry when they visit me.
This place was absolutely one of the worst places I have ever eaten in my entire life! The order came to the table and for the life of me I cant even remember what it was Grease dripping from it. When I went to send it back they said they dont take orders back. I said well I dont want it and she said she could give me 20% off. Why would I pay 20% off something that I didnt touch or eat. This is a place I do not recommend to any human being. Once you order it, whether its greasy it doesnt taste good. Its not the amount of food you thought it doesnt matter. Once you order it, youre stuck with it. I will write a bad review about this place. Any opportunity I get. I cant tell you what it taste like because of all the grease dripping from it. I didnt even eat it. When a scale of 1 to 10. I give this place a negative zero! And they obviously do not deserve one star but I have no option but to give one star.
Wonderful and reasonably priced sushi! Awesome roll is my personal fav.
A very nice place for excellent sashimi. The squid salad is delicious so have that before you order the main course. They have cooked food too for those so inclined.
Small amount of food for $16 not pleased at all chicken and shrimp combo not enough food for that money paid
Great food and service. The fried rice was bland but bento box is great! Watch out for lots of pepper on thr veggies.
We have been customers for several years and have always been pleased. We usually get an assortment of sushi as well as some things for the kiddos, and everything has been great. We love the easy parking and friendly service. A neighborhood gem.
My favorite place for sushi. Really nice people too!
Always great food. Hunan and egg rolls are a personal fav. Husband and wife owners are super attentive and very appreciative of your visit.
Im convinced some of these reviews have been falsified because I tried this place for the first time earlier and it was pretty bad. I had steak and chicken hibachi, an 8 year old could have made a less dry chicken and the steak was as tender as a brick. It was all tasteless and unseasoned. The rice had an off flavor to it too.Theres a Kroger right next to the place and I wouldve enjoyed my dinner more if Id gotten food from the Kroger deli instead, thats how mediocre it is.
I know they were under staffed but we didnt even eat in house. This was probably the worst hibachi Ive ever had. The chicken was very overcooked and dry so much so I didnt finish it. The veggies were under cooked so I also didnt eat those. The sushi tasted OK, however, my husband spent the night in the bathroom...drove 40 minutes hoping for good hibachi since there isnt any around here and were very disappointed.
I spent $40 for chicken Thai basil rice, Crunchyroll, lucky roll and Summer roll. Unfortunately, First they got my order wrong and never made the summer roll. The rolls that I did receive were not fresh at all. After tasting one of each I decided to throw both away so I wont get sick.
Ordered shrimp hibachi and steak and shrimp hibachi. Also had the deep-fried California roll. To in which I was not impressed.. It was the tempura mix that I didnt like to be exact. Other than that everything was 👍
Omg my very first time visiting and The Sushi Rolls was Delicious 😋..Well worth every penny..Driving from Dallas will be doing it on the regular.
I ordered chicken hibachi and the chicken was very tough and the fried rice was sticky. I very surprised because I have eaten here many time in the past and the food was always good. This was my first time since before covid.
I like the food but have to stop coming due to horrible lead time on pickup orders. Don’t tell me 20 minutes for my pickup (during Covidand then I wait an ADDITIONAL 30 minutes. No excuse. I feel like they wait forever you to show up before they start. Poking your food.I’ve been patronizing for the last 2 years. I won’t be back. Sad.
Although there is no dine-in right now, the take-out is an indication of how much these folks deserve a good look. After 3 separate visits, the food, and presentation were spot on. Fresh!
I wish I could give more star! They use very fresh meat and vege.Im in love with their sushi.I live far from them but I will visit again.Highly recommend!!
This place is great! They are only doing take out orders due to Covid-19! The food is great, fresh and cooked to order. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be visiting again.
Oh I could eat the grilled Octopus X 5! A little noisy where we were seated in the bar area but goid food and service. Manager very attentive
Excellent food and very clean. They had a hand sanitizer stand before you are seated so that was cool. Would go again
This is the first time i have ever written a review. My order was not going through online, so I called and the person told me on the phone that my order had gone through and that I had been charged, pick up time was 6:30pm. I made sure to ask again and be absolute sure that my order was placed. I drove 15 minutes and left my kids hungry at home to go pick up my food. When I get there, they take five minutes to come to the front desk and tell me that there’s no order placed. I asked if I could please place an order immediately so I can take home food for my family and she says no she’s not taking my order. I had to drive 15 minutes back home with no dinner at 7 PM. They were extremely rude and disorganized. Will never ever visit this place again.
Ever since we discovered Oyama’s about two years ago it’s been our go to place for Chinese and Thai cuisine. The family operated restaurant provides a friendly atmosphere, great service and delicious dishes.
Much better than Thaicoon for sushi by a huge margin. Very attentive and friendly staff.
Exactly what I wanted. A quiet, quaint sushi restaurant. No big groups of strangers sitting next to you on front of a hibachi grill. Thats entertaining sometimes, but its nice to eat good Japanese food peacefully. I like it here.
I love this place! We order out or eat inside probably once a week. The best family and such great food! Were lucky they are so close to home!
Dont judge this place by the exterior. Super clean and friendly inside. Sushi/sashimi was delicious, nice clean pieces of fish. Small family oriented place with great service.
The friendliest staff at any restaurant weve been too. Excellent size portions and great clean atmosphere. Food rocks too!
Service wasn’t bad but food is horrible! Hibachi does not taste hibachi style at all! Sushi was great though and that was the only reason for the one star. Waitress stated she was charging half price for the meal that I did not eat but she itemized everything to where I paid for the whole meal minus 75 cents as if i couldn’t catch what she did. Once I addressed her about it she continued to talk to me in circles as if her way made sense. They’ll never get another dollar from me. First and last time dining here
Good portion size. Salads always seem to have water in the bottom of the bowl. Flavors are average. Not a bad restaurant in any way, just doesnt stand out enough for me to drive past others to get there unless Im meeting someone there.
We came from out of town passing through. It was so wonderful we wished we could pick up the restaraunt and move it to us! Customer service was great, so was the food and portions. Prices are perfect! Please consider going here.
Nice, clean facility with friendly staff. I only tried the sushi (3 rolls: spicy tuna, salmon and avocado, and tempura shrimpand it was prepared fine but just didnt have much flavor. I think if the fish was better quality it would have been more enjoyable. Not sure how the rest of the menu is but the were many options. The clear soup and ginger salad were pretty good.
Excellent food and friendly staff - one of my favorites in Atlanta.
Excellent food, good lunch specials! Lunch specials with hibachi meat, bento boxes or sushi. Lunch ranges from $9-14ish. Lovely big bento boxes! So good and a great deal - we will definitely be back.
Thier lunch bento boxes are a great deal and DELICIOUS.
Very happy with my visit. The inside is very beautiful and a great place for a date. Unfortunately, I was with my macho male friend so we just shared a bromantic dinner. Would recommend strongly!
Sushi here is awesome and you can tell the chef Jack cares about his work and satisfying his customers. Most of their business is through carryout and delivery so its always pretty quiet whenever I go here. My wife and I love a nice peaceful dinner so this is perfect! Prices are consistent with other sushi places I have been to. But the selection and taste is great!Ginger salad and miso soup is a low price and I recommend getting it before diving into sushi if you want to save $$. Or you can do like I do and put some extra cash aside for a special date night and go all out.Check out the Seafood Sunomono, a tasty seafood and cucumber salad, comes with octopus and others, if youre into that sort of thing! If youre not in the mood for sushi, theyve got hibachi style meats and veggies/rice, and some pretty reasonably priced bento-box combo meals that come with a lot of food.
This just may be new lunch spot. I really like that its quiet and I can enjoy some good quality food. I had the spicy salmon roll with friend pork gyoza. I havent had sushi in quite sometime so it was really good to me. The food plating was pretty as well. The staff was nice and I got my food really quick.I got here at 12p so Im guessing thats the best time to come during the week.
Ive been going to Oyama for years! Let me list what this place has going on:-The environment is always relaxed and stress free.-Perfect for a date night.-The music playlist is on point. Progressive soft trance always soothes the soul.-Prices are extremely good for what you get!Jack and John are truly passionate about their work, and they are what make this already amazing experience beyond pure bliss.
Love, love, love this place! Big sushi portions and very friendly staff. We have been coming here since we moved here 4 years ago and it is our "go to" place. You will love it!
Sorry, but this is not what I expect when going for hibachi...if Im paying these prices, I want the show! The food was ok, but not great. The sushi was good and the selection was more than adequate. The service was great! The service is the reason I gave 2 stars.
I have returned to this place 3 times hoping it would be better. I am always disappointed. The food is mediocre at best. Sushi is not fresh--they dont do enough business to make that possible. The service is poor. I have had long wait times even when the restaurant has been empty.
Decent sushi with kind of bland flavors. The ginger salad wasnt good and the flavors in the sushi didnt pop.I still ate my food I just dont have any motivation to return.
Our server recommended the New York Roll to me and it was the best roll I have ever had in my life. Also the ambient music amazing! Definitely recommend! A++++++++++
Friendly service, and standard Chinese fare. Some Thai, Hibachi, and Sushi options as well. Lunch prices are inexpensive. Be prepared to have Fox News on the television at the front of the restaurant and by the sushi bar.
My boyfriend and I were in the mood for hibachi. We found this place with high reviews. I have no idea why it has this high of reviews. We walked in and were instantly greeted by the sushi chef. He asked if we needed a table for two without asking for kitchen seating or hibachi. I said two and we turned the corner, and it was a tiny place with no grills to be found. Well we were already seated, so we were trying to keep open minds. We ordered the Oyama hibachi special for two... I will say portions were huge, but the menu did not mention anything about all the proteins being smothered in teriyaki. The shrimp were cold and obviously never on the grill. The lobster was extremely chewy and over cooked. The scallops were gray.... enough said there. The steak and chicken were cooked well. Everything was fine... But thats just it... it was fine. But for the price we paid.... I would expect a grill to be in front of us. With all the negatives said, the staff was really friendly and the place is bright and clean.
The place offers good options and has one of the good services in the area. Ingredients are fresh. Taste is on the light side, low on salt and 1 hot pepper has just a hint of spicy. The chef redid it and came to the table to check. Professional and courteous. One thing to be even better, the ingredients are not heated evenly, some are quite hot like tofu, yet broccoli is cold inside.
First time here, The workers are nice, but the hibachi is in the kitchen (for the price, you should expect a real hibachi experience). The food was subpar and the scallops tasted out of date or spoiled.
The owners are extremely nice people. They took care of us themselves when we walked in a little late to lunch. Sushi was very fresh. Price not too expensive. Perfect customer service, Coming back fo sho
Where do I begin? My first impression as I passed from the hot parking lot was that I was entering an oasis. The air was cool and the atmosphere was peaceful. Some nice music played quietly in the background. The staff greeted me immediately and remained attentive throughout my visit. I was impressed by the length and options on the lunch menu that include sushi, Thai, Chinese and Hibachi. My choices to personalize the mixed vegetable combo were impressive. The egg drop soup was hot and delicious. My dish with added shrimp was amazing. I am already looking forward to my next visit. It was a wonderful break from a stressful work day.
