Our Lady of Peñafrancia Shrine in Naga

It was after the feast of the Peñafrancia when we were there and so there were less people and we got to pray more solemnly. Im very grateful to have the chance to visit the place as were only visiting from Metro Manila. The long travel was well worth it.

Originally Home of Ina. This is one of the oldest church here in Bicol, it was completed on 1750. I attached some photos with updated mass schedules as of Aug 2022.

The original church was build on this site around 1711 ACE. The present structure was built around 1750 thus known as the church of Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia. Once the home of the Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia before the Penafrancia Basilica was constructed.This place has a shop and the parish office on the lest side of the building where one can but religious items and a few snacks. Outside the gate ambulant vendors sells candles and other religious items too. Other references state that during the feast of the Lady of Penafrancia, the parade starts from the plaza in front of the church.#RP

The 6th church we went to. Its just a small church though but one of the oldest church in Naga City.

This church plays an important role in the history of the Bicol Region, as being the first home of the patroness of the region. If you have to visit Naga City along with the Basilica, please also visit this church :)

A historical church in Naga City where Peñafrancia Festival takes place every September 15. Before Traslacion and Fluvial Procession starts, the first mass is always done in this parish before going to Cathedral church.

This is the "original home" of Ina, the cradle of devotion of Bicolanos to our Lady of Penafrancia for more than 300+ years. This shrine is where we start the annual Marian fiesta, the biggest in Southeast Asia, and a must experience every September in Naga.Theres a daily mass, morning and evening. During weekdays, if you want to touch the image of Ina, make sure that you arrive before 6pm. The back access to the image of our Lady of Penafrancia is closed right after the evening Mass.

A beautiful solemn place to visit and pray and meditate. A must to go to when youre in Bicol. Very accessible from hotels and resto and plaza. We stayed at another beautiful place The Carmen Hotel.

This church has a lovely interior. This is the original shrine of Our Lady of Peñafrancia, until the image was transferred to a bigger church, a Basilica.
