Spanish & Mexican plates, craft beers & boutique wines in a buzzy space with old-world atmosphere.
Paella was amazing. As long as your group is cool with sharing a dish, definitely get the paella.
Nice, we shared the Paella and it was very good (although shrimp overcooked and no squidbut it was definitely the best Ive had in a while (including Madrid). The lighting was pleasant and our service was great. If you get paella, it takes a while but they tell you that, so we enjoyed some tapas and wine and overall a nice pleasant evening. Would go there again.
Went for dinner. Three of us split an order of paiella, an appetizer, and we all got chocolate cake for dessert. Paiella was definitely worth the wait. Everything was delicous. Staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Definitely will return.
Had a lovely dinner here when visiting Syracuse with my partner. Service was wonderful, they let our dog sit on the patio with us and even brought her a water dish. The food was delicious, everything was cooked beautifully. The Saffron Scallops and Garlic Shrimp were our favorites. Great environment all around, would definitely return next time were visiting.
The drinks are top quality.Highly recommend getting the Paella one of the best dishes. Also they have a great appetizing menu.
The staff was really kind and welcoming. The food was not what I expected but it was cooked well and presented nicely. Their version of a "Mule" was terrible though, if youre into mules, get a classic.
The workers here from the hostess to the waiters were amazing. The food was very good. We had the Zarzuela/Seafood stew and Snails. First time trying snails and loved it! The atmosphere is a little fancier but they wont stop you from coming in wearing shorts and a T shirt. All around a good experience!
One of the best restaurants in Syracuse. I need say nothing else...
Experience was not the best. Most of the menu has changed so I had to try new items. I had a paella which was prepared incorrectly. It was mushy and burnt at the bottom. We opted for two shrimps instead of octopus and our server still put in extra mussels. In an attempt to savor my burnt food I asked for condiments and was informed that condiments were an additional fee. Additionally, the waiter kept bringing my table bread without informing us it was an extra charge. It was would have been a great experience despite the obvious ridiculous extra charges and distasteful food. Additionally the server was not friendly and did not check on our table, he spent most of his time on his phone at the bar and attempting to make us order more food. We sat here for 2 hours being pressured into buying more food which we did not. This was a very cheap restaurant with little care for their customer satisfaction.
The atmosphere is great and there are delicious drinks! Im excited to go back and try paella! My tapas were delicious.
Ordered from the tapas menu. Fritters were fair, mussels were really good but sausage was dry and tasteless. Roasted shishito peppers were fine.
We sat outside. The atmosphere was perfect. The staff was friendly & quick. The food came out fast and was amazing. The Paella was perfect. Took me back to my grandmother’s kitchen. The cocktails were just as good. New to the area, but this will be a monthly visit.
Otro Cinco has wonderful service! Their drinks are delicious and their vegan paella is delicious! I highly recommend!
My girlfriend and I decided to go here after hearing that they revamped their menu. We ordered the seafood paella and were presented with an extremely generous portion of quality food. This had to be some of the best paella we ever had. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere for a date night.
The hostess/waitress was super nice and made some great recommendations. Additionally very patient with me and my questions lol. The food and drinks were good too.
Spanish food. Nice Tapas.
Seriously good Spanish influenced food. Wife and I just had 2 appetizers (1 each). We got the open face sandwich and cecixhe both were a delight. Sel got 2 tapas (also 1 each), the meatballs and the fried zucchini. Both were generous and had a great medley of flavors. We finished with an almond cake and a fruit cobbler which were delicious. It wasnt full on a Friday night, no waiting though reservations especially for larger groups should be made.Well be back for the paella.
I’ve been coming to Syracuse for work for years and past few weeks decided to explore and stay in the armory. Otro Cinco is one of the week’s highlights ! Very accommodating and friendly staff and delicious out of the mainstream food. 5 stars for sure
Tasty food. Very accommodating. Wonderful outdoor seating.
One of the only places around to get delicious, authentic Spanish cuisine. I was extremely impressed. Everything I tried from the Tapas menu was fantastic and the paellas are delicious and full of flavor. Absolutely worth a stop.
As someone who lived in Spain for awhile, I was excited to hear that Syracuse had a Spanish restaurant. I thought the ambiance was absolutely beautiful, loved the lighting and the outdoor patio. I had the sangria de temporada and it was the perfect light, summer drink. When I looked at the menu I was surprised that pan con tomate was on the dinner menu as it is typically a breakfast dish…but I welcomed it with open arms and ordered it as it was one of my favorites. I thought it was pretty spot on except for the smoky flavor of the dish. It’s typically toasted French bread with olive oil, and garlic rubbed on it with chopped tomatoes and a sprinkle of salt. I was also very surprised that I didn’t see jamón ibérico or jamón serrano on the menu as it is an important staple of their cuisine. The paella, however, was AMAZING. I had the festín de verdura and I thought the favors and the way the paella was cooked was absolutely spot on. My boyfriend had the seafood paella and he loved it! Overall I thought it was a good representation of Spanish cuisine
For those who have been there in the past Otro Cincos menu is now a Spanish Menu not a Mexican Menu as prior and it is delicious! There is a variety of options on the tapas menu to choose from and the drinks are delicious as well! Definitely recommend it does not disappoint.
My father and I just dined in and let me just say this food and service is incredible! Everyone was very hospitable, the menu was appealing, and the food was sooooo filling and delicious! The hostess and waitress we had were both so lively and prompt when responding. I would definitely eat here againEdit: I forgot to add this but as a suggestion, please put WORDS on the bathroom doors because the pictures confused me (I wasn’t looking too hard at themand I just entered the closest door which turned out to be the women’s restroom. I wasn’t aware there was the men’s room around the corner as it was sort of tucked away and there weren’t words which caused me a moderate deal of embarrassment
Absolutely delicious food, and amazing service. I got a few tapes dishes and each one was better than the last. I have to recommend the chorizo toast as it changed my life. Jancy, the hostess, was extremely nice and welcoming. They treat everyone one with respect and I can’t recommend this place more!
They used to be a very good restaurant with nice entrees but since about two years ago they completely revamped their menu to be entirely Tapas-based for some reason. The new menu is very hostile to plant-based diets. The old menu used to have a great Crispy Tofu Burrito, while the only such options available in the new place are a soggy half plate of wine soaked button mushrooms, wilty kale or fries/fried potato options if you eat around the mayo.
Best food in Syracuse dont look anywhere else! Seafood paella with the chorizo is amazing! Sweet vermouth margaritas are also great! Overall wonderful environment and experience.
Visited Syracuse for the very first time and we picked this restaurant for dinner. Not disappointed! Every dish we ate was delicious. The service was excellent and the price was reasonable. The tapas are high quality plates, extremely flavorful. The paellas take a little time to be ready - 45 minutes- but so worth the wait!!! And they dont fill the plate with rice. It was really top notch! We finished our meal with some dessert and again, very happy with beautiful plates!
Could not recommend more highly. We went for dinner before a show and had a great time. Definitely recommend reservations. They gave us a heads up that drinks were taking an extra few minutes and they were well worth the wait. Their seasonal sangria is fantastic. The food was very well portioned and delicious. We had Afternoon Delight and the seasonal sangria for drinks, the chorizo toast app, and for entrees we did anchovies, scallops, clams, and marinated mushrooms. Everything was wonderful, if we find ourselves in town again we will absolutely be back. Cannot recommend more highly!
Otro is simply an easy place to be.The food is always delicious! The hammered copper top ( seats 2 is a gorgeous table I especially enjoy sitting at.Buen Provencho!
It was my first visiting. It was a busy night but luckily we got seats. We were told that the paella would take about 40 minutes, but the drinks and small plates we ordered were very delicious (even the olive and buckets small free plates were very deliciousand I didnt feel like waiting too long. And I highly recommend their paellas. The seafood paella has lots good flavors and it was very delicious totally worth waiting. Id like to try another paella next time.
Intimate and classy yet casual atmosphere. Awesome food, never had anything like it. Slightly limited vegan selection but you cant go wrong, will return.
Service and ambiance were excellent. We had the chick pea fritters, mussels and scallops which were all good. Also had the 11” sea food paella that was good, but was on the salty side. We could taste the salt crystals.Seasonal sangria was very tasty.
This place is fantastic. Ive only ever order take out from their sister restaurant, alto Cinco in the past. I was amazed at this Wonderful little gem. The vibe is beautiful. Every single thing we ate was delicious. The cocktails are also wonderful. Im so glad that there is a solid place for tapas in Syracuse.
Friend brought burritos over and the one I got to eat was the Chicken Tinga. Black beans, yellow rice, shredded chicken, and salsa. The burrito was spicy but not overpowering. There was almost a sweetness to balance the spice from the onions and tomato. One burrito was plenty. Very filling and wasnt terribly expensive for the amount of food and meat you got.
One of the worst places I have been. We arrived and the lady seating us seamed ticked because we requested a booth. I dont really mind that so much I know we all have our days. We ordered chips and salsa and guacamole, the chips where flavorless and days old type stale. The guacamole was inedible tasted rancid seriously no exageration! We ordered also the fish tacos and a short rib burrito. The burrito smelled like there was rotten meat in it like that sour smell only noticed that after one bite. The fish tacos I cant really describe the flavor but it was not good at all and they came with fries which seems odd but they where cold and soggy with grease. We just payed the bill and left the food on the table. Im not one to complain but the food was so awful. Its a shame the place has a cool vibe nice decor and a nice bar. It could be great if they even had decent food. No chance we will ever go back Im just glad we did not get sick from it.
Wanted to check out the newish concept change at Otro. Choices of small plates tapas and other Spanish dishes. Staff friendly and attentive. Many seafood choices. Menu might feel a tad limited for some tastes or non-seafood fans. (Do Miss some of the items on the old menu). Would have appreciated a NA beer choice due to Dry October. 🤣
This is a great restaurant if youre looking for Spanish food. Most of the menu is served tapas style, but you can also get paella and other larger dishes if you want. We have gone a few times, and previously it was for the paella. For this most recent visit, we orders tapas and we were blown away. Everything was delicious. Id you like seafood, then this is the place to get it!
Our waiter Richard was amazing and so friendly and helpful. He truly made the experience. The food was just ok in my opinion. Nothing wow me and the paella was tasty but didn’t have any of the hard crispy rice at the bottom and the couple tapas we tried were just ok. Atmosphere and staff 5 stars. Food 3 stars. Wine especially on a Sunday evening with their $10 off a bottle was inexpensive and tasty so wine gets 4 stars.
Beautiful space, lovely wait staff, fresh lovingly prepared tapas. Thoughtful service and quality wines and cocktails. I will be back! We had the zucchini, squid, shisitos and shrimp - all amazing. Fresh bread and lemon olives - just perfect!
Great experience all around. Homemade sausage paella is worth the wait. Efficient and detail-oriented service. Strongly recommend to anyone interested in tapas.
Great atmosphere & custom cocktails!Wonderful service from Andrea & Richard behind the bar!
This was one of the best meals I have ever had. Went with a group of 6 so we tried almost everything on the menu. The clams, muscles and scallops were amazing, cheeseboard was fresh and delicious and we ordered the seafood pallella which was more than enough to feed us! The veggies were cooked and seasoned to perfection as well. Our waiter, Richard was very friendly and knowledgeable and made great suggestions. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would!
Excellent Mexican restaurant in downtown Syracuse. Very warm vibe and cozy place. Food is excellent 👌, would always recommend to anyone visiting the city.
Went for lunch. Quiet. Specials were delicious. For drinks, Choco libre was an interesting porter that I havent seen elsewhere. Almost tasted like Mexican hot chocolate (with a little chili spice). Strange but I recommend trying it.
I went there for pre-interview dinner. I loved the ambience. The server was very friendly and recommended the best available foods. I took the fish plate which had Tuna that day. I really loved how they prepared the Tuna. The coleslaw was great. I really loved the creme brulee! It was a heavenly experience!
Loved finding this cute restaurant. The ambiance, food, and service were all fantastic!I ordered their soup of the day which was a butternut squash soup as well as their vegan nachos. The vegan nachos were also a special for the day! Both were delicious with rich flavors and beautiful presentation. The soup was a small portion but it came with chips and that alone almost filled me up! I really enjoyed the lighting and our waiter whose name I never got.Overall, the experience was great and Id be willing to go back if Im ever in the area!
AMAZING FRENCH TOAST!! Great service. Wonderful staff. A great place to go. Thank you, Andrea. The young lady, with the fun beautiful hair is a gem. I didnt catch her name but always smiling.
Cocktails are great. Perfect balance of flavor. No bitterness. Tacos are always good. Cabbage and pickled onions are a wonderful a touch.
Delicious food and incredible service. Our waiter was in great spirits, and the atmosphere is great. As others have said, it is rather dark, but their tacos make up for that. I also highly recommend the corn bread and chipotle-orange butter!
Lovely restaurant with great atmosphere. Food was good though some things could use a little tweaking. Some of the potatoes in the appetizer were undercooked slightly, and the paella could have used a little more flavor. The chips and salsa was very fresh, and the mojito was nice and minty. Service was very friendly and helpful. Look forward to going again.
