Enduring neighborhood throwback providing American & Greek fare, plus live music & a patio.
Amazing hometown spot even if you arent from Hilliard.
I’ve ordered the pub burger twice and the plates were very different both times… first time was amazing and the last time was disgusting… one time it came with the egg over medium and the last time was over hard. The first time it’s had normal burger condiments and the last time it came with this brown stuff, do not eat the brown stuff! Both times I went there they were out of ginger beer to make Moscow mules and “it’s supposed to be delivered later today” both times I went there… kinda sus… the place is hit or miss, no consistency.
Good place to gather with friends. Very pleasant patio with loads of large hanging flower baskets and a wide falling water wall. Reasonable prices.
We were greeted immediately upon walking in the door and asked to sit anywhere we liked. We had the whole area to ourselves as everyone else was choosing to sit outdoors. It took several minutes for the waitress to come over but after that she was very efficient. The decor was mainly historical photos mixed with some sports paraphernalia. The outdoor patio was absolutely beautiful. Our food arrived quickly and it was just as amazing as the waitress said it would be. I had the pub burger and fries. A nice burger with mozzarella, provolone and cheddar cheeses and bacon and a fried egg topped with lettuce, tomato and onion. My partner had their signature sandwich of fried bologna. Thick sliced bologna with pepper jack cheese, pickles and onions. The fries were a thicker natural cut, fried to a crispy doneness and topped with coarse salt. Best fries that Ive had in awhile. If we go back to Hilliard anytime, well be stopping in again.
The waitress was extremely friendly and made my kiddo feel at ease ordering. The food was phenomenal and came out quickly. Made for a great dad/daughter night.
I enjoyed the chicken ceasar wrap, another in my party said the Greek salad was delicious and the flat bread pizza looked yummy as well. Great service. Will return!
Fried green beans and pizza are great. When the outside upstairs is open, its a really nice place to sit and listen to live music!
This is by far the worst restaurant I’ve been to. The service was absolutely terrible. We waited half and hour to get drinks and an hour for nachos. As we waited we watched 2 tables who came 30 mins after us get a full meal and finish before we ever got our nachos. We went up to the waitress and she said she would check on it. She shortly after brought our nachos out and then proceeded to say she had the kitchen remake them really quick so that they weren’t soggy. Meaning our nachos had been ready for a while at that point. Then to top it all off the nachos tasted horrible. We asked why it took so long and she proceeded to blame the kitchen for being backed up. If the kitchen was so backed up how did every other table manage to get fed before we even got our appetizer. I’m not sure what her name was. I contacted the manager via Facebook after we left and he was very professional but an hour and a half wait for bad service is still bad service. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.
Expensive drinks, not great service and they were out of most things we ordered in the kitchen, as well as serving our food with plastic silverware. Just not worth the price. Beautiful space, not great service or food.
The service was good and my children wrap was delicious.
Food was horrible, service was ok. Wont be back.
Awesome place, beautiful ambiance, great service.
The waitress sucked, it took forever to get our food. She forgot some food, she didnt get a tip.
Food was cold service was extremely slow. We had a discount card through Bradley and they couldnt honor the card we paid for. So we didnt get our discount. Survers seemed over worked and place seemed under staffed all around. If you have a coupon or discount card be sure to go when they are slow and a manager is on duty. Over all a very poor experience which is sad bc we dont go out much....
This is one of the most beautiful places cant wait to come back
Had lunch on patio beautiful water wall with flowers then the police came by about ten units sirens blasting The food was ok. The Ruben was a little soggy and the poppers were extremely hot .I asked to substitute a dinner salad for the fries and he said no problem. There was a greasy sandwich and salad that he charged me extra for. He was a nice waiter but the food was not good enough for a $42.00 lunch
Dont let the bar fool you! It might look like a regular pub but the food is absolutely amazing!!! The best house made tzatziki sauce in Columbus, they also have amazing house made hummus and twisted feta dip!! But you have to get the freshly carved Greek gyro!
Food was ok. Service was horrible. Almost no wait staff. Sat for 15 min before we were asked what we wanted to drink. Another 30 min before we were asked to order. Got our order wrong several times. Place wasnt even that busy when we were there. Will definitely never go back
The service is great, the food is tasty, and the place is clean. Will go back.
Awesome very old building in the middle of downtown hilliard. One of the best Fried Bologna sandwiches in central Ohio. Hand made tots!! Perfectly fried, light and fluffy. Great specials during the week. Easily one of the best and most beautiful patios in the area. Huge water wall. Huge new addition event space.
Bar staff was negligent with blah demeanor. Slow service and was lucky to get their attention even thought they were not doing anything. Drinks weak and decided not to have dinner due to atmosphere
First off, when we walked in...the bar caught my eye. The whole place on the inside is gorgeous. The food was good, but the dipping sauce for the fried green beans was top notch🤤The bartender was super outgoing and really exceeded expectations.
Fried green beans were good but a tiny portion. Paid $20 for the sampler plate with Tzatziki, hummus and feta. Skipped the cheese. Double Tzatziki. Got the fresh veggies. Shouldve asked about the veg. Celery for some bizarre reason and 6 pickle slice sized cucumber rounds. There wasnt even half a piece of pita bread. Tzatziki was very good, but came in a tiny 3oz cup. Hummus same but was only half filled. Terrible value and I wouldve said something instead of writing this but the manager or owner and staff werent exactly with it. Shouldve known when all the neighboring bars were packed and this place was empty.
$12.50 for a single baked flour tortilla with cheese and pepperoni on it. That should not be called a flatbread pizza. The taste wasnt bad, but it was like an open faced cheese quesadilla. There was just no substance to it - it was like eating a pile of baked cheese. I ate one forth of it and tossed the rest. Prices on their printed menu didnt match what we were charged.
Summer pattio and rooftop bar are great. Have a good view of Hilliard events across the street during the summer as well.Love the old world pizza, fried green beans, and a gyro, but not had anything bad there.Beer selection is pretty standard, with a few crafts to choose from.
A great little corner bar. Good selection of beer and good service even though they were short staffed. You never felt like you were forgotten. Wished I lived closer.
New beer 🍺 I tried was very good. Christmas Ale from Great Lakes Brewery. Bartender did a good job. Looked a little slow , but enjoyed time here.
Have loved oties for decades, tje food did not dissapoint. Good service, old times still. The odd part otie baloney is on the website at 10.99, rubber at 8.99. It rang up at 12.99 and 13.99. We were there at lunch on a weekday, ordered no extras. Why??? Dropped a star for this. Fix your website please.
We ordered several appetizers and they were all good! Our bartender/waitress was the best! Great service, very friendly and outgoing. Drinks were good quality.
Forty-two men were hosted in the upstairs party room. Appetizers were plentiful and outstandingly served. Main course was a smorgasbord of their menu and were excellent. Josh, the bartender, did a fantastic job serving all of us. We plan to schedule future gatherings at Otis’s.
Worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. It made me and my fiancé very sick. We were given plastic silverware, tables are so unstable that our drinks spilled all over us, and our food was half cold and rancid. Would give 0 stars if I could. I will NEVER go back. Very disheartening as this was our first time going there. Do not go unless you want to be throwing up all night and want food poisoning. At least the nachos were kind of ok.
Like many have said, the atmosphere is the only reason to come. The patio is nice, although the upstairs is rarely open. This place could awesome with the amount of space here but it’s always lacking due to the food and drink (always leaves something to be desired). I’ve been here precovid and post, and the service has always been rough. I don’t blame the employees…I blame the owner for sure. I miss the old Otie’s before it was sold and I wish this place could be so much more than it is.
Hummus was spicy and not good. Philly sandwich was very greasy and fries almost burned. Nachos were good though. The patio is beautiful, but food just ok. Probably not coming back.It took a while to get service and food, as normal to all places right now.
Had to share plates, they came out and told us the kids chicken tenders orders had to be changed because they had gone bad, and the silverware was plastic - like the really cheap plastic ones. The drinks were fantastic though.
Philly cheese steak wasnt great, fries could use some seasoning. For the cost was kind of meh. Outdoor seating was pretty nice though.Edit: Have since had burger and pizza as well. Both pretty good, but still kinda eh compared to some other options in area.
I got the pizza from here and the crispy crust was delicious. The sauce was not chunky and they were generous with the cheese. The staff is really friendly and her smile made the experience agradable. I had the cucumber drink which was very sweet and refreshing.
Food is ok. The gyro didnt have alot of meat. I think the bologna sandwich is probably a better choice. Drinks were solid nice pours from the bartender
Great restaurant. Their chicken grill salad is sooooooooo good. Had it to-go and it definitely high of there is one of the best Ive ever had.
Oties is a great place to meet friends and enjoy a good meal. They have a great bar and a lovely outdoor patio. The food was fresh and good quality and the service was excellent. Tuesday is retail wine night so you can get a bottle of house wine for $10. Such a deal!
The food was great, actually...it was the service that made the experience awful. Our server forgot to put our drink order in and it took 30 minutes for a margarita. The place was virtually empty and I know why. After receiving the worst server ever and receiving the huge bill, we asked to speak to the mgr, which I NEVER do. This dude came out to us wasted. Just awful from the jump.
My friend and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time. We sat outside on the patio, which is breathtaking! Our waiter was not attentive at all! We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and they were delicious. I ordered the Reuben and fries. The fries were bland. My sandwich was delicious, but they barely put any 1000 Island on it and when I asked for more, I was charged, which I didn’t realize until I got the bill. My friend got a hamburger which barely had any mayonnaise on it. By the time the waiter came back so we could ask for more, it was cold. We asked for extra napkins and we were given 1 each. Service was really bad. I asked to speak to a manager, but was told that our waiter was the closest thing to a manager. He was not friendly and barely checked on us. I needed a refill before we left and he never offered one. Very disappointed!
Service for our drinks was almost average. The reason it was only for our drinks is because we waited over 50 minutes (and hardly anyone therefor our food. And, it never came out. Paid for our drinks and left. Thank you Five Guys for picking up the pieces after that mess!
Had lunch on the outdoor porch. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She made numerous trips back into the restaurant to get items we requested. The fried baloney sandwich was as good as ever.
Love the downtown feel with the outdoor seating. The tavern food and craft beers we had were really good. There was a live band playing that was awesome!!
Not a fan of their food they make their sauces spicy with more cajun seasoning than I like. I got the buffalo chicken wrap. Atmosphere was excellent and so was the staff. Its just a food taste I dont care for.
I went with a group of friends for a fun afternoon get together on 8/23/20. I was very disappointed in the service. We had a new server, so we understood she would be a little slower, but another server was very nasty. We had to ask our server for items such as appetizer plates, extra napkins and drink refills several times before getting them, but understood she was new. All of a sudden another server delivered our food and told us we were being rude to the original server. We never complained once to the other server...we just sat around talking. The second server told us “People that complain don’t deserve good service.” The whole time she’s saying this, and delivering our food, she had her face mask pulled down on her chin. I don’t know what her issue was, but when our original server came back she was apologetic. When leaving nobody seemed to know where the manager was. My friends and I will definitely never return to this restaurant again.
Grilled German bologna burger.. incredible. Highly recommended. Be sure to wash it down with some Jameson whiskey
The atmosphere is awesome, but the food is overpriced and underwhelming. Wait time is awful even on weekdays. I have been here many times, love the music, love the patio, but someone please fix the food! Gross boneless wings. Nasty nachos. Mediocre pizza. The fries or okay. If they stepped up their food game, this place would be a go-to in Old Hilliard!
The place is huge. The wooden Decor is especially amazing. Look for the oversized hanging guitar in the outside sitting on the second floor. Drinks at great prices. Awesome food and good portions. Table service is very personal and on point and very friendly atmosphere.
Compared to other bars in Columbus I enjoy stopping into Oties for the patio dining and entertainment they often have.Food menu has more options then other bars.Locals seem to also enjoy the place.
