The park and pathways are still quite water logged and damaged. The pathway is quite fitted in places. Its still beautiful along the river though.

Very muddy and flooded in the middle area Heaps of piles of soil everywhere. Guess its just the time of year

Lovely park, good field for games, a stream to swim or paddle in, and a small playground. This area doesnt fare well after big rains, so be prepared for mud (or even closure of the parkif its been quite wet.

Well maintained and enjoyable walk, even after heavy rainfall.

Use it regularly for Park Run. Always appreciate the river, and care of paths.

Big improvement to the walkway, makes the walk much more enjoyable, easy to push a pram,also bike riding.

Had a great family birthday picnic. Plenty of parking. Super safe shallow water for the little ones. Very clean toilet facilities. Great to see the park used by so many people today. Picnic tables for the early birds and shade under the trees for the cars. Will definitely use more.

Great area for a picnic or BBQ. Has one BBQ and play area for the kids. Just up the hill is otaki swimming pool.

Great place for the whole family, plenty of room to do outdoor stuff, plus river and shaded areas to park up and a playground for the kids.

Nice place for family picnic with a nice childrens playground. Unfortunately some inconsiderate users have chose own convenience over care of the park by choosing to park on the grass where they should not resulting in destruction of the lawn leaving big ugly muddy tyre track all over the place.

Lovely place for young and old. Birdlife and walkways, with a lovely river and great picnic area in summer.

Weve had lots of rain so bring a towel for the slide and climbing frame. Awesome muddy puddles and running track

Always a lovely outing. Beautiful walking both both ways around the river. Overfed black swans on the Waimanu lagoon a bit scary for small children.

Nice walks along the river toilet facilities available allowed to take dog there but needs to be on leash not all people abide by that. Great for cyclists too. Need to be on guard though as not all have bells to warn you when approaching especially when walking with little ones small playground too

Great place to have a picnic ,plenty of space for kids to kick a ball around an also has a playground.make sure you take something to feed the ducks at the river beside the domain,a great day out for the family .walk over the friendly swing bridge to waikanae beach.

A beautiful spot by the gorgeous Waikanae River. A great place to bring kids and dogs at any time but particular summer afternoons and evenings.

Awesome place to take the family...great facility...I was impressed with how the council had the rubbish removed on a regular basis throughout the day...Ive been going to the domain for over 40 years and its had subtle changes over the years but is still a nice little piece of paradise situated away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life

Gorgeous park?! Some beautiful trails to walk with your family. Nice, flat trails with beautiful views of the river and some farmlands. Pet friendly, lots of parking. A must-see.

A hub for all ages! Great for kids, playground, opens spaces, a bridge and ducks. Also a exercise hub, from here you can walk, run and ride both South and North sides of the River track. Well worth a visit team!

Its a great spot where people can set up a gazebo or more and have a great with the family. It could be better by having pay to use bbqs around the location. The footbridge to Waikanae beach is great but i found the walkways to be a little too congested when it came to taking young children for a walk with bicycles everywhere. There is a very narrow entrance and exit to the domain for vehicles. It suggests its a one way loop road but there are no signs or painted arrows on the asphalt. The kids pkayground provided limited activities for the 7 and under age range. I think the local coubcil could make better use of this asset.

Great place to spend your afternoon with your family, your friends, your date or anyone else who wants to explore a picturesque walk along the crystal clear river. Its quiet out here (birds might be the exceptionand the walk is flat, so its super easy for kids and senior citizens to walk around. You hear so many birds and they take really good care of the area. They plant quiet a few new trees all around the park. I will definitely come back again for a picnic.

Love this place, especially the new murals! I take my lizard down here to catch some sun and everyone is always polite and happy. Cute little park, lovely river, amazing native birds.

The domain is an excellent place to walk or run and you can even have a picnic there.Saturday mornings there is a 5km parkrun / walk start time 8am great way to start the day and meet others.Best of all it is free.

A lovely park with a large open space, access to a nice trail along the river for several kilometers, and a cool pedestrian bridge. If you live nearby I recommend the Kapiti Parkrun, a free 5k event which happens in the park every Saturday at 8AM.

Beautiful trees surrounding a shallow river with a swing bridge that takes you on a walk to the beach. Peacefull. Great place for family picnics.

Awesome swimming in the river. Great walking track, family park and amenities. Only issue is speeding cyclist along the walking tracks, witness a a few near misses. Maybe council need to widen tracks and cyclist slow down as well.

Nice place down by the river, Good spot to have lunch or relax in the summer. Has a nice little playground as well as a big field to play on.

Great park, fairly sized playgrounds, benches bins and toilets. Plenty of space and gives easy access to the many walking tracks beside the Waikanae river.

Brilliant place to spend the hole day with the families, theres swings for the little ones and plenty of carpark, and theres a bridge which everyone can cross over to the other side of the river or the kids can feed the ducks from it, and a walk way as well, check it out its awesome.

Its been remade well. Great for walks for fitness or walks with the children. Great design. Its still got the "old times" design there which is great for us who were born here & remember. Its not bad!!!.

The last time I was at the river there was no bridge, no homes on the Waikanae side. Wed go there to camp. Youd have to swim across the river. I had a nice brief walk along the river. Next time my sister comes to stay, I will definitely take her there for a walk of memories.

Good park to go for a walk or run along the river. Good picnic area with toilets, car park and picnic tables. Fun suspension bridge for bikes and walkers.

A large ground for activities ranging from football, cricket to cycling, and even carving once a year. Spaces for barbeques and get to gethers and a small playground. Leads onto large tracks up the Waikanae River.

Saturday morning, 8am, come for the free parkrun and run or walk 5k in the company of some of the friendliest folk around in this beautiful setting. Ample parking and toilets just nearby make a lovely riverside setting, and theres a playground for the kids.

A great place for the family. Feed the ducks, play in the playground, bring your BBQ and have a swim in the freezing river if you dare. Your kids will. Shallow enough to paddle.
