Osteria dei Centopoveri in Florence
Description
Privilege
Simply the best place I’ve ever been to when coming to Florence. Delicious food, excellent presentation of dishes and very friendly service. Ah, and cheesecake dessert is a must to try (I ate it that fast that forgot to take a pic!Highly recommended!
MoreI was debating if I should put 5 or 4 stars. To be completely honest It is 4.5 - but there is no such an option. So I decided to go with 4 to stay honest with my readers. It is a great place! And line-ups at 11 pm is a true evidence of it. But something just didnt click with me.We went to this place 2 times. First one for lunch, and second for dinner.Lunch experience:Unexpectedly huge portions. There is a preset menu that cost 12 euros per person + some additional charges for items that are not included in the deal ( but they are minimal ). I was a bit disappointed that pizza was not included in that preset menu... I wasnt able to finish my soup, so I guess it went to waste ( but again - may be someone would be very satisfied with the size of the portions). I also ordered omelet- it was too oily for my, but super all the flavors were there.Dinner experience:Super delicious Margarita pizza! Super delicious Spinach & Ricotta Raviolli! The whole bowl of Parmigiano cheese (Yaya!!!)What confused me - waiter came to our table and took salt while my partner was about to use it. I guess it is normal in Italy. Take it easy.Overall great place! 100% worthed to visit!
MoreGood food and variety and cheap house wine. We came here for pasta and it was pretty tasty but not something spectacular. Loved the panna cotta. We had a nice evening but better make a reservation. I think it would be nicer if there would be a little bit less light in the main room.
MoreAmazing food! Very large portions.Waiter was friendly but a bit too busy. Too many tables for one guy leaded to a long wait for my bill. Then suddenly, without succeeding to ask, he puts it on the table and requests my leave.
MoreThis restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host and it was down the street from where we stayed. The food was absolutely delicious and we ended up going back a second time. Call and make a reservation beforehand because it does tend to pack. The price was also very cheap! There were four of us. We had appetizers, house wine, 4 main courses and deserts and the price was less than 100 euros! I will be dreaming about their cheesecake! It was so light and the berries complimented it well. The mushroom sauce was excellent! The risotto with prawns was also yummy if you’re tired of pasta and pizza! We traveled all over Italy and this was the best meal!
MoreVery good for the €11 lunch deal, though felt very sick all day after eating the meatballs, assumed it was beef but It must have been pork and red inside. Staff were friendly.
MoreWe had a really good dinner, the steak was perfect, super soft and flavorful. The dessert is a must try 😍
MoreI see a lot of reviews about the price, this place is about QUALITY, have the steak red as is suggested and prepare for one of the best meals of your stay in Florence.
MoreVery nice place to eat. They have a super cheap lunch price special (11 euro full 3 course mealbut we ate here for dinner. Gave us free shots after dinner as well.
MoreEasily the best ostaria in Florence. Located not far from the main tourist attraction. Menu price range from 11 to 12 € with fresh aqua, wine and 2 plates.Meals are excessively good, menu changes everyday. There is a queue outside due to the popularity of the restaurant but Ive never waited more than 15minutes.
MoreGreat value - two course meal with wine and water 11E pp. delicious and quick service.
MoreA great experience and delicious food! Get there early or make a reservation if you dont want to wait for a table.
MoreWe went to this Restaurant as a group of 6 and got a Table without reservation. The Menu is great and the t-bone Steak is delicous and worth its price. As a Dessert i tried the chestnut pudding and it was impeccable. The Service was great and our waitress was really nice and helpful. All in all this Restaurant is a place, that everyone who visits Florence should go to If they want great meat for a good price.
MoreDelicious meals and great prices. I found the place on google maps and wanted to check if the opinions are justified. Yes they are. The place was full of locals and tourists and you could feel that it is not an ordinary restaurant. The waiter showed us our place. It was cool inside but you could expect a bit chiller temperature. The staff were everywhere as people were coming in and out. Much appreciation for it. Still they had everything under control and the food was appearing without much waiting. Everything was delicious, of high quality but reasonable price, home wine was very tasty. If i am next time in Firenze i would definitely come back again to check out some other dishes. Come by and check it yourselfves.
MoreBest freshly made pasta I’ve ever tasted. We had the muscles and tuna carpaccio as starters and it was fresh and flavourful, but not over powering the main ingredients. Seafood pasta was tasted like heaven if you’re a seafood lover! Portions were quite big too. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re ever in Florence.
MoreDelicious. Really don’t have more to add. Just go there and order whatever you feel like. It’s all good.
MoreMore expensive than described, but food was great. The set meals were anywhere between €25 to €40, but the portions were huge. The service was the main reason why I gave 5 stars however, the waiter that served us was really nice and friendly. And they mistakenly overcooked one of our steak, after we told them about it they immediately cancelled it off the bill, big respect for that!
MoreThe Florentine T bone is so tender so juicy. The pasta is really good too. I dont like the table bread but thats ok. Price is very reasonable compare to other places in the area
MoreFood was above average, and it was very worth it for its price. Paid Eur 11 for a 2 course meal which also includes wine and water. Waiter is able to speak English and they are friendly.
MoreI highly recommend11 EUR per person/pasta (primo, secondo, aqua, wine ), in my opinion best bang for the buck in town, the food was also good and generous portions
MoreGood value for money, large portions. Try the menu deals: the seafood menu has nice variety and the meat menu comes with a large Florentine steak
MoreCould not fault the food nor the service. Had a wonderful and relaxed time, with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. Steak was cooked to perfection. The meal was a testimony to how good Florentine and Tuscan food can be. Hope to return.
MoreHidden gem in Florence. If you’re tired of eating red meat in Florence, this place makes some of the best seafood dishes. Their chicken liver pâté is also the best ones I have tried in Florence and believe me I have tried a ton of pâté’s in my recent trip to Italy. The host and servers are some of the jolliest and friendliest you’ll ever meet. Popular among both the tourists and locals — again, this was a gem of a find. And btw, do not miss their tiramisu! It’s worth the hype!
MoreThank you for great service and great food. We had mussels and clams delicious and now sand insert 💪👍. Pizza as you can see on photo disappeared :standard Bruscheta was as it should be. Just small problem with asparagus. Everything in reasonable price and it would be good to back here in someday. The best free restaurant WiFi
MoreWe just ate there and it was one of our favorite meals in Italy thus far. The service was great, our waiter was exceptionally friendly and funny, and he helped us when we were struggling to pick (literally everything on the menu looked great). The whole experience was lovely and Id give it more stars if I could. We honestly felt like we underpaid for the quality and quantity of food we received. Definitely would recommend, and we will most certainly come back the next time we are in Firenze!
MoreHad just one day in Florence and this place was close to our hotel and looked delicious so we gave it a try, and it was still packed at 21:15 on a Tuesday night! We quickly understood why it was so busy. Everything was excellent, from appetizers to entrees to desert. The Tuscan vegetable soup was particularly delicious. All of the staff were super friendly, and overall it was one of the best meals we’ve had after a week in Italy. We were also amazed at how affordable it was given the quality of the food (we onlygot pasta dishes but still with an appetizer, two entrees, soup, a side, and desert it was just €45). Highly recommend for a wonderful time!
MoreTotally the best Italian restaurant 👌🏻 Those pizzas are amazingly tasty and the deserts as well. The waiters are very nice and quick there, you can feel good mood and atmosphere in the restaurant 😊
MoreNice food and good service. The waiter took our name and called when the table was ready (accurate wait time provided). Lots to choose from and the set menu with the steak Fiorentina was very popular and photo worthy. The waiter was chatty and interesting and very attentive until the end of service. Unfortunately they had run out of our dessert choice but it was a nice meal in a lively Osteria.
MoreRecommened by our tour guide. This place hidden gem was anazing. Super busy and I can understand why. Excellent pizza & local dishes. Great service.
MoreBest value for food I’ve had in Italy yet. I got the lunch special for 11 euros. It included rigatoni, pork and potatoes, water, bread, 1/4 wine, WiFi, and bathrooms. 10/10
MoreI had the linguini al vongole which was delicious and fresh with plenty of clams to pasta ratio, after I had Tiramisù which was lovely as well. There is quite a bit of waiting depending on the time you go but the staff are very friendly and the queue moves along quickly. Highly recommend it!
MoreBest steak in Italy most people order pizza but the rest of the menu is much more interesting. Great place!
MoreGreat place visited most by the local people. Very crowded at noon, but very good organized: when you come, they tell you, in what time they will have a free table, put your name on the list and you wait outside in the shadow, than they call your name and seat you (we waited just 10 minutes). The food was delicious, big portions in the lunch combo (just for 11€). The waiting staff very friendly and a very cosy place.
MoreMy partner and I loved this place. We were in Florence for two days and went both days for dinner. Would recommend highly! Prices are quite affordable and food was very delicious. The waiters are also quite attentive.
MoreI recommend this place if you like steak and a lot of meat. They are also cooking pizzas, but we haven’t try it - but they looked really attractive.Steak was deliciuos - 500 g.Service - perfect, quick response, polite and friendly stuff.Good value for money - not expensive at all.
MoreIts really good. Legitimately really good food, good service no frills decor. It is unbelievable when you consider its 12 euros for a large water, 1/4 liter of wine (your choice red or whitea primi (a pasta, tortellini or soupand a secondi (beautiful salad, meatballs, pork shank, sea bass fillet etc)Look, youre not going to find a better deal in Italy for a great lunch. I had to wait 10 min to get a table and it was worth waiting 3 times that long.
MoreOne of the best meals we had in Florence! For first course we had Pappardelle al Cingiale (Pappardelle with Boar sauce), really tasty definitely go for it!For second course we had Bistecca di Chianina alla Fiorentina (Florentine T-bone Steak from Chianina). The meat was cooked really nicely and it was just melting in our mouths, plus the potatoes were cooked very good. For desert we had classic Tiramisu, also really good!Last but not least, the staff was very polite and friendly! All in all, highly recommended!
MoreGreat local spot, definitely recommended! Pizza looked good for a very good price. Especially if for take away. We got a whole menu for 30-35€. A lot of good food. Finally a place in Florence, which is not overcrowded with tourists.
MoreI recommend it. The food was really delicious. The place was clean and the waiters was perfect and very polite.I recommend also this plates.Last but not least the prices was excellent...
MoreThe Octopus pasta was delicious and the quantity was good and the price was good too. The mix fried fish was fresh yet it was totally tasteless not like the ones I had before elsewhere. The staff are extremely nice and they speak English. Overall, I totally recommend it.
MoreReally laidback spot that isn’t super touristy. The food is great and tastes homemade. The stewed beef is super flavorful, but I’m sure pretty much everything on the menu here is good. The atmosphere is calm and it isn’t too noisy. Definitely a good spot for couples and families, although I enjoyed eating alone here too.
MoreVery tasty food, it feels like homemade! Nice place to eat typical tuscan dishes.Friendly staff and accessible price.
MoreAbsolutely great experience. Food was super good and felt home cooked :They have the typical Florentine food in their lunch menu tooThe lunch menu is really great!. With it, you can get a first dish, a second dish, 250ml of wine and water included as well for 10 euro.
MoreWe wanted to stop for lunch and eat something nice and authentic and we came across this place. We liked it there, its busy but the food is good. The staff is also nice which always helps. We ordered some pizza and pasta and were both really nice and it didnt break the bank either. Its not expensive. If you want to stop for a good meal go ahead and visit the place.
MoreA buzzing atmosphere in this place. Waiters are used to busy lunch and dinner services and everything came out really quickly. They were really friendly! Value for money was great and they had a deal for a starter of cheese and meats, the florentine steak and dessert, with coffees and water all for 38 euros each. Anyone who has seen the size of the 1kg steak will know thats a great deal! Cooked to perfection! The best pannacotta Ive ever had!
MoreDinner here was amazing delicious. Probably one of our top 3 on our 7 days Italy trip. Price is great especially for the quality of food they serve. We really surprise how cheap it was. Wish we had another night or else we would come back.Follow me on Instagram:Houston.foodie.and.beyond
MoreIt is an amazing place to eat in Florence!Highly recommended! Quality food and great price!Next day we have returned here to try their lunch...I have no words..I never ever ate for 10 euro like that! We ordered 2 menu lunches:1st and 2nd course plus 1/4 lt of vine and bottle of water each. And again everything was exeptionaly fresh and delishious! Dont forget you are in the heart of Florence! In my opinion this place is a true delight for any food lover! We had lasagne alla parmigiana, pasta con ragu, maiale tonnata and big tuna salad.see the pics:)
MoreWe went to eat here multiple times during our vacation and everytime our meal was delicious! The pasta is soft and fresh, the salad is tasty, the pizza is crispy and the Florentine steak is an absolute winner. I totally recommend this place! Staff is also super friendly.
MoreWell, only have one thing to say. NEVER ORDER LOBSTER! To be honest, the service here is above average. The price is also not so expensive. However, I have never eaten a lobster like this. The lobster meat in the body is taken out and filled with this flour like power stuff together with a little little bit lobster meat. Besides, the lobster does not taste fresh. Just dont order lobster.
MoreAmazing Restaurant. Really one of the best places to eat Ive found. Pizza was great, Pasta was great. Free Water and amazing Grappa as digestive. We basically went there 3 times, 2x dinner and 1x for lunch. Lunchtime is super busy, alot of locals (Lunch special is 2 course Menu with a glass of wine for 10€but still super fast (no Pizza during Lunchtime)10/10 would go again
