Osteria Pastella in Florence

Had the house specialty of the grano padano wheel tagliatelle with truffle. It was pretty good and was visually pleasing and an experience in itself and had a bottle of the house red wine which was good. If you ignore the visual spectacle there is better food to be had in Florence at cheaper prices but the experience was worth the extra cost 👌

Just incredible. We stumbled onto this place by chance while walking through the neighborhood and the food looked so good we decided to make a reservation on the spot.First of all the service is top notch. Everyone that works there is so kind and accommodating. I was with a baby so that was extremely important for me.When you arrive and order they welcome you with prosecco and 3 different types of delicious bread along with their olive oil. Its all delicious!Their truffle cheese pasta is out of this world and tasted better than we ever imagined. I wish I could have this at least once a week!Before you leave they also reward you with some limoncello.It was the perfect meal to end my trip to Italy. If I ever come back to Florence Ill be back every day of my visit! Open a location in Miami please or anywhere in the US!Thank you!

Amazing fresh pasta and fresh ingredients. The flavours were excellent, the portion size was perfect. The staff are amazing and there is a chef actually making fresh pasta in the window! They give you a complimentary glass of wine to start and limenchello to finish. They also give you free bread and some cheese and onion balls which my partner demolished. I am gutted I dont live there so I cant go back for a while. We didnt book and there was a lot of spaces free but Id book just to ensure you can try this food!

OMG. If you do visit this Osteria you have missed out. This is by far tops the list of best menu I have ever ate. I ordered the Pasta made in the Grana Padano wheel and the Tuscan beef steak and it is beyond what I ever expected. If I could give 10 stars I would. Places like this get overlooked but don’t let the small appearance fool you. This place will impress!!!

Had the taggliatelli with truffles and the wheel of cheese. Absolutely delicious. Made our trip to florence special. The staff were lovely as was the special aperitif.

The BEST food you will find in Florence. The service was magnificent, and the tortellini I got tasted so good I almost cried lol. The bread is amazing as well. It’s important to note this is a very popular place after 7 and there’s sometimes a line so make a reservation! Trust me you will not be disappointed the olive oil tasted so rich and unlike any oil I’ve ever had before and my caprese salad was delicious ! I will be telling everyone I know about this wonderful place.

Their tagliatelle prepared in the cheese wheel is TO DIE FOR! You absolutely must visit this place, make sure to book as the restaurant gets very very busy!

It’s the best restaurant we tried in Florence, cheese wheel, lemon strawberry sables and the drinks are really amazing! Very good service, too. We walked in, strongly recommend to book a table in advance.

Make sure you reserve online in advance and be ready to stay in a line. Otherwise super friendly staff and really great food. The appetizer plate with the different meat and cheese was so so. The pasta with the cheese ball was to die for. The wild boar meat pasta was super good, not really saucy but the noodles were super fresh tasting. Free bread and a little glass of wine to start was nice. No place to leave a tip so care cash.

Such a nice interior of restaurant. Really typical Italian, looks like an old French Brasserie but in Italy.Make sure your make a reservation because even for reservations there is a queue. Staff was really nice at the beginning by offering some appetizers and a glass of Prosecco. Unfortunately, when you see such high prices on the menu and a service at the beginning like that, you can imagine that the quality and the quantity will be at the top. But no… I had the typical fish dish where they cook it in some bread and open it in front of you (really nice presentationbut that was it… I had only a piece of fish in my plate with 2 little zucchini flower that were fried. 27€ the dish. Kind of hurts. Maybe I made the wrong choice of dish.Truffle pasta was really good, with some nice entertainment (they make the pasta in front of youbut don’t go there if you are hungry, you will be disappointed…The food is good but really expensive for what you get.

Amazing! We had walked by the window and watched the fresh pasta being made twice before. Our third trip past Osteria Pastella was at 8:00PM, after a 12-hour bus tour of Tuscany. The place was packed and a couple had just nabbed the last outside table. I wondered in to see if there was any chance to eat. The waitress/hostess said the only table available is the other end of a 6-seat table and they would need the table by 9:30. We took it and it was the best decision! The food was amazing, especially the risotto! The staff was very attentive, yet we werent rushed. We were exhausted and wanted to get back to our room anyway. Great place and very busy. Make a reservation!

The food and wine were delicious, the waiter was super friendly. Very busy but worth the wait and whilst we waited, they gave us a free glass of processo.Go for the fresh pasta, it is out of this world! We had the pasta with wild boar in Chianti sauce, typical of the area and recommended by the waiter- delicious!

Travelling from Canada:Let me start by saying that I cannot do justice to the food here. I came for the truffle cheese wheel — which was even beyond my high expectations — but was elated to find that this is not the one special item, but that everything is done impeccably. The rest of my family all ordered other meals and were very pleased. That said, I would still say that getting the cheese wheel is a flavour and entertainment experience that you should not miss out on if you do choose to dine here. Not only are the savoury dishes delicious, but the desserts are impeccable as well. One family member said that the strawberry-lemon sable is in the running for the best dessert that she’s ever had. The tiramisu is also creatively outstanding.Apart from the food, the service was mostly good and the setting was very pleasant. The cover fee includes three kinds of bread (better than any other bread that I’ve had in Italyas well as small aperitifs and after dinner limoncello shots. The waiter also brought the wine to taste before serving even though it was just for a glass, not a bottle. That was very much appreciated.Overall, probably the best meal that I have had in Italy. I would highly recommend that you dine here if you’re travelling in Tuscany. It would be wise to make a reservation, as it was very busy when we were there (we made a reservation through TheFork about 3 days ahead of time and there was already limited availability).

What everybody says about the amazing experience and the super tasty food is true. The only thing that I will point out is that the portion of pasta ( at least for tagliatelle that we triedis a little bit small. Nevertheless, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

First impressions weren’t great. The older lady was very rude and unwelcoming. The food was better than her service, it was nice to have a glass of white wine with the bread and the lemoncello at the end. Dessert was nice and refreshing

Excellent place to eat in Florence! You cant miss the cheese wheel pasta here. It is exquisite!. I gave them 4 /5 because it took a long time for the food to be served although I have to recognize it was in the middle of summer at very high season time.

I’ve always been a huge fan of truffle pasta but this tops anything I’ve ever tried. It was absolutely delicious! Definitely a must do if you love cheese and/or truffles.

We stayed down the street near Santa Maria Novella and were able to get a reservation for this Tuscan. This place is a well-oiled machine. The staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered a variety of dishes and loved all of them. They were making a dish in a large cheese wheel but we didnt get that. Wish we had gone back. Had desert and coffee. Everything was great.

Delicious homemade noodles. Tried the lasagne and wild boar pasta. They give you complimentary snacks and drinks. Only thing Id personally skip out on is the tiramisu.

We waited over an hour because we didnt make a reservation - so learn from that mistake!This place is absolutely amazing, if I could Id give it 6 stars!We had the lasagne, ravioli and the cheese wheel pasta - holy mother of god, the food was great!I rarely had more satisfying and tasty dishes, an absolute must go if you are in Florence!

All around one of the best restaurant experiences that I’ve ever had. The food was great and the service was even better. The staff gave us free Prosecco for the 5 minute wait that we had to be seated. The food was brought out only a few minutes after we ordered and it was fantastic. The restaurant has a great ambiance and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal at a good price in Florence.

If I could do it all over again, I’d order the flambé cheese wheel tagliatelle! The table next to us ordered it and I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked! The pasta chef in the front window was absolutely mesmerizing with her prep work — I wanted to stay all day to see what else she made. 🇮🇹👩🏼‍🍳 Everything we ate was delicious. 5 stars for the tiramisu and cappuccino capped our meal perfectly. We dined al fresco and had a delightful time watching the city go by. Definitely recommend!!

Cheese wheel pasta is great, delicious! Though the portions are not very big, we were still hungry after 2 courses so we ordered more. Nice ambience and the staff is nice. A bit overwhelming at the entrance because it is a popular place!

We arrived upon opening at 7 pm and were told to wait outside with the others since it was 6:58 pm by a snobby waiter as customers flooded onto the sidewalk. Other staff members were great and quick to take our order as this restaurant was busy quick! Exceptional tagliatelle (can’t go wrong with cheese in anything8/10 but the fish I got was a complete disappointment 1/10 and had no flavour I could not even finish it which was disappointing since we had such high hopes for this establishment and had reserved our table well in advance. Highlights included the complimentary Prosecco, bread with oil and even a lemoncello shot. Overall it was a great experience watching them make the pasta and tagliatelle but the fish… just no.

This place is a fabulous experience and meal! Everyone goes for the cheese wheel and there is a reason for it, it’s a show and delicious! They prep it right there are your table and it is so decadent. We also had the spinach tortellini which were phenomenal. The food is more expensive here but justified by the quality. You won’t be disappointed.

Ate here for lunch on shortly before getting on the train to leave town. Having been in Italy for more than a week, I thought the service was great! If you’re coming straight from America or haven’t eaten many sit down meals yet you have to slow down- people take their time here and servers aren’t trying to turn your table. You will always have to ask for your bill. Enjoy one another and the food. The cheese wheel pasta was a perfect close to our time in Florence.

As soon as we got in, we were welcomed with two glasses of prosecco. The menu sounds so amazing it took me ages to decide what to eat. There is someone making the fresh pasta right in front of the entrance which makes the restaurant so enticing to visit. The food was so tasty and original. The pasta filled with potato was AMAZING. The tortellini was delicious, so light and flavourful. The desserts were beautiful to look at but also incredibly tasty. When we asked for the bill, we also got two shots of limoncello. Guests are really welcome here! The staff is really, really kind. Also, if you want to try pasta from a cheesewheel, this is the place to go.

We went there for truffle pasta. It was so delicious and funny to see the making process. Other dishes were also good! A little salty to Koreans, but very delicious!

We ate here twice while we were here. The entire experience was fabulous. First night was Bisteca and second time the pasta in the cheese wheel for 1 and the spinach and ricotta tortellini. Service was excellent and the food even better.

Delish food, the pasta in the cheese wheel really is good, super affordable table wine. You get sat with others on some of the tables (we didwhich was fine, but I would have preferred our own. The staff are mega friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend

I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The male staff was very attentive to every part of me, and when he saw the mask fell on the floor, brought me a new one. I have been living in Florence , but the quality of the service I received was not very good even after spending more than this. All the staff are very well trained. The quality of the food, beautiful plating and freshness. At first, I was a little skeptical about sharing the table in the middle, but I ended up feeling so good on Friday.

Best beef carpaccio ever! The flambé tagliatelle with truffles is also an absolute must have.Interesting take on the tiramisu. Great service and fantastic free bees such as bubblies, fried doughballs and digestive wine. Highly recommend Osteria Pastella.

My wife and I both ordered a tasty pomegranate salad but then the parmigiano reggiano flambe with homemade fettuccine oh yeah and the fresh shaved truffle was simply the best Italian dish Ive ever had. The Tiramisu and gelato didnt suck either...

Hands down some of the best food we had in Tuscany. When we arrived, a lady was making pasta in the front window. It looked so good I had to order it! The staff was very friendly and explained any questions we may have had.

We went to this restaurant because we wanted to try the amazing looking/sounding pasta prepared in a cheese wheel. We were not disappointed at all with our decision! The server does a wonderful job with the show to soften the cheese then mix fresh pasta in the wheel adding white truffle oil and the shaved truffles on the top. The taste of this dish is amazing and the preparation show is wonderful as well. This is popular in the restaurant so you should make a reservation to go here. The lasagna was the best I have ever had and is not traditional with truffle cream in it. The desserts are great but also not traditional Italian in preparation so worth trying for sure. The house wine was great and our experience here was worth the trip!

Probably the best truffle pasta in Firenze! I was brought here by Google Maps and it didn’t disappoint me. The pasta is freshly made in-house, and it rolls right in front of you with the Grana Padano cheese. It was an enjoyable experience seeing the dish being prepared. Fresh and authentic taste. The meal was also a bargain since it included a couple of drinks also. Definitely recommend!

Recommended by a friend and we totally enjoyed our dinner. Besides the food, it is the experienced that we enjoyed. Watching the waitress mixing the tagliolini in front of us. Food was nicely done.

Very nice restaurant with a super homey feel. I loved how welcoming it felt with the super friendly staff. Would definitely say this restaurant is more on the fancy side, it would be good for a night out. The food was super delicious, mixing the pasta in the cheese wheel definitely made a great show as well. Overall, would love to go back for a special occasion!

We heard of the popularity of this place after eating there, and we can see why! The staff was all very friendly and we were lucky to get an outdoor table on a beautiful summer night. Started the meal with a complementary glass of Prosecco or sparkling wine for everyone. My daughter & I shared the Tagliatelle flambé al tartufo fresco in crosta di Grana Padano - or the creamy pasta in the flaming cheese wheel. I guess its youtube "famous"? Well, for good reason I can confirm, and everyone else at our table regretted not also getting the same dish. All of their pasta was freshly made - you could actually see them making it in the window. They cooked it perfectly - al dente - and of course the theatrics of the flambe cheese wheel was grand. But, it truly was delicious with the pasta, the cream, the cheese, and the truffles - just the right amount of truffle. The setting obviously didnt hurt either. My dessert was a mango & maybe passionfruit delight w/ gelato & meringue I think, but I cant remember what it was called. It was pretty, unique, and delicious. I would definitely recommend this for a fun dinner experience. Pricey, but worth it!

In short: Amazing place, definitelly worth checking out.The dish looks well thought, a balanced plate in all aspects. The serving is tiptop, the pasta is made in front of you, they bring some proseco as apetisers and some garlic breadballs (resembling meatballs).Food itself took a while to bring (main dishbecause of busy hours, but it was good.The menu is kind of short, few dishes, but it feels like every dish is refined so it makes sense to serve a few great dish rather than many others of varying quality.Overall recommend, with no hesitation!

The food is sooo good and the hole experience is something very nice. They have a chef that prepares the pasta in front of the window and its quite fascinating. All the products seems to be prepared right on the spot and the first thing that they brought were two glasses of prosecco. Simply lovely.
